Has any women tried to seduce Jing Yuan or even Yinxing?
Yanqing properly got so many bad vibes from them that he doesn’t want them near his dads.
Jing Yuan? Yes.
We are talking about the most powerful man aboard the Luofu. There will always be women after him, whether it is for their own purposes or on behalf of those who hired them. They aren’t very successful since this man loves his husbands and is also all about respecting people’s space and boundaries. He’s very charismatic so it’s easy for him to get around all of it.
Yanqing does not like them. He knows they are there for a purpose and as a Cloud Knight, he must figure out what their objective is. Though he is still a young kid so his understanding of romance, seduction, and the overall game of it is not very developed. At some point, he just leaves his dad to handle it.
Yingxing? Not usually.
Yingxing does not possess the same charisma that Jing Yuan does. Instead he is very open with his distaste and sarcasm, which pushes people away from him. So when a woman does come to try and seduce him, he is so weirded out that his brain sort of shuts down. Instead of providing teasing comebacks in the way Jing Yuan does, he gives full-on, straightforward answers that somehow turn the atmosphere incredibly awkward.
For Yanqing, it actually hurts to watch. He knows his dad is sometimes awkward but the situation brings about such a level of second-hand embarrassment that instead of being worries, he has to excuse himself. He knows that lady won’t succeed because who can honestly succeed in that situation.
Thank you so much for sending me the ask!!!
Sorry to took so long to respond!!!🥰

Does Baiheng have any Foxian? suitors wanting her hand in marriage. but Baiheng is like "sorry I'm already in a relationship. " . And Jingliu staring menacingly at the suitor from behind Baiheng.
😂 Sadly or not so sadly, Baiheng has no suitors vying for her hand in marriage.
Baiheng is very public about her marriage for Jingliu whether it be matching clothes, jade bracelets, or the ornament on her waist that is made of icy white jade to resemble her partner's snow-colored hair. Baiheng loves being married and goes out of her way to show it in her clothes, hair, and just overall demeanor.
Towards people who simply cannot take the hint, she makes hand movements when she talks to draw attention to her wedding ring and jade bracelets. Sometimes she'll brush her hand against the jade at her wait so they'll tinkle or she keeps mentioning "Oh, my wife bought this..." or "Oh, I'm so excited to meet my wife after this. She loves this tea I just bought."
She has a very fun and mischievous demeanor so sometimes she'll personally drag out the interaction just to drop the person, especially if they haven't been getting the hint/ignoring it. "Oh, yeah I'm incredibly insterested in that restaurant. You want to go there? Sure! Let me invite my wife, Jingliu as well. Oh I'm sure you know of the Sword Master Jingliu."
Jingliu doesn't get involved and instead finds the whole thing incredibly amusing. She loves and adores her wife but knows very well Baiheng can hold her own, so instead, she just stands back as Baiheng plays with her prey like a cat with a mouse.
I'm so sorry it's taken so long to get this out😭😭
I'm am slowly finishing up all my incomplete drafts😂
Thank you so much for sending this to me and feel free to send in asks❤️

Ok now I need to know after reading Yanqing’s first word, what was everyone’s reaction when he started calling them Ba, Baba, A-die and auntie? And Mimi of course
Yingxing- When Yingxing got called Baba, it was when Yanqing wanted didn't want him to go to work. Yingxing had put on his coat and getting his phone when Yanqing reached out his arms and said "Baba" with teary eyes. Yingxing was silent, unsure how to process what happened. "Baba!" Yanqing said again. Yingxing did not say anything in response, instead picked up Yanqing and clung to him. He was also an hour late to work and there was a rumor amongst the household staff that he had cried.
Dan Feng- He absolutely cried when Yanqing called him "Ba!" They were strolling through the garden at the Alchemy Commission. Yanqing loved the water and the cool air despite the fact his father was more concerned with keeping him warm. Yanqing had patted his father's face and horns and shouted out "Ba!" Dan Feng went on to brag to everyone at the Commission about his son's accomplishments.
Jingliu and Baiheng- While Jingliu did not care much for what Yanqing called her, knowing it would be "Master" once Yanqing was older enough to pick up a sword, Baiheng cared a lot. "Say Auntie! A-un-ti!" Baiheng put a lot of work in after the "Cat" incident. That work did pay off a month latter when Yanqing, with his big eyes and chubby cheeks, "Ah-Ti" to Jingliu when asking to be picked up. Jingliu, of course, did not say or show any emotions but Baiheng could tell she was happy. Baiheng, on the other hand, was ecstatic that her plan finally worked and sent the video to the group chat.
Jing Yuan- Jing Yuan was called "cat" for the longest time. This was likely due to his hair looking like Mimi's fur. However, one day when Yanqing was on his father's lap while the general was looking at reports, he wanted to show his father the white lion plushie. It had came with no warning, just "A-Die!" Jing Yuan had paused and looked down, his eyes resembling an owl. All it took was another "A-Die!", a wave of the plushie, and a gummy smile to get Jing Yuan to abandon his work for the day.
Mimi- Mimi was called "Cat" for the longest time but she didn't care. She didn't need to be called over by Yanqing, she came over when she wanted to which was all the time. It wasn't until Yanqing was over a year old that he finally started calling Mimi by her name after hearing people say it for so long. Mimi continued to not care and still did as she pleased.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK!!!! :)

If anyone is wondering if I am still writing, yes I am. I promise I am 😂
I am just stuck doing my Annual Performance Review for work where I have to write fanfiction about me loving the job and how I am in it for more than the money.
My goal was to update this weekend but that’s not happening 😭
I am so sorry!
*** genuinely contemplating quitting my job because it prevents me from writing. Also that it sucks and I am overworked. 😅

Hii I like reading ur works which is really full of fluff🙆💜
Just curious on a scenario where yanqing get lost? Not sure if that would ever happen 🤣
HELLO!!! I am so glad you enjoy my work. I hope to publish more soon!
Yanqing is a runner. If you are not holding onto him, he will book it. It got so bad that they tried to put a leash on him. However, like an angry cat, he would flop on the floor and refuse to move until the leash was off. They then put a bell on his ankle so when he runs off, they can hear him.
Yanqing's attention was caught by the fluffy orange cat loitering around the dumpling stand. Without a moment's hesitation, Yanqing was off. His hand slipped through Dan Feng's grasp as he headed through the crowd and after the kitten. He dodged carts, customers, and even other Cloud Knights as he chased the cat into the alleyway. His Ba's calls were all but forgotten. The feline had jumped over the boxes, a grilled piece of fish in its mouth as it ran to the end of the alley.
When Yanqing reached the end, he found the orange cat surrounded by kittens. A couple were orange but others had splotches of gray and brown on them. The large orange cat, likely the mother to these kittens, placed herself in front of her children and hissed.
The hostile noise caused the boy to back up. "Oh, it's okay! Are you hungry? I can get you a lot of fish?" Yanqing spoke softly in hopes of placating the cat.
The cat, as if understanding what he was saying, stopped her hissing. "Yeah! I'll go get you a lot of fish!"
Yanqing quickly turned around, only to realize he didn't know his way back to the market. When he ran down the alleyway and countless corners, he did not remember to get his father to follow him. Now, he didn't know his way back."
"Meow?"
Yanqing could feel the fear building up. He didn't know how to get back. There are so many turns and all the corners look the same. How was he ever going to get back to his father?
"Yanqing!" A voice called on from above. Within seconds, the High Elder of the Vidyadhara descended from the clouds and landed gently next to his son.
"Ba!" The boy tightly hugged his father, burying his face into his father's clothes.
"How many times do I have to tell you to not run off? Do you know how long I was looking for you?" Dan Feng lightly scolded.
Yanqing didn't say anything but instead just hugged his father tighter.
Dan Feng sighed and looked at the cat. "This is the third cat this month you have followed. You have Mimi at home. I swear you are as bad as Jing Yuan."
I hope you enjoy this short thing! Thank you for the ask!

christmas headcanons? (is christmas even a thing on the
HELLO!
I am not dead, life has just taken me by surprise and what was supposed to be a quiet and chill month turned hectic really fast. I have time for writing now so I will be publishing stuff soon, it will take time as my computer has become extremely slow and a fic that would take me 4-6 hours to write now takes me 10+.
I don't know if Christmas itself is a thing but I would like to imagine there is something similar to it. :D
The XIanzhou does maintain friendly relations with foreign influences, like the IPC, so it could be assumed that people from other cultures have brought along their beliefs and holidays. Since the family doesn't have religious ties to the holiday, I can see them using it as a day to give gifts and spend with friends and family.
Baiheng and Jingliu will actually spend the night over at the manor since it makes planning and getting together a lot easier. The Luofu also has a lot of snow this time around. The artificial weather is made to respond to the environment (ex. lots of condensation in Scalegorge Waterscape leads to rain) and the wintertime tends to produce a lot of snow, which makes traveling difficult.
Yanqing is the first to make up. It is 6:00 AM and he is running to his parent's room, telling them to get up and open presents with him. His fathers, however, are very groggy and drags him down in the hopes he can sleep for one more hour. Dan Feng would usually spin some magic and lull the boy to sleep but it was still dark and no one, especially his child should be up at such an ungodly time.
Christmas time, actually starts at 8:00, when Yanqing wakes up again and his aunts and Yingxing are already downstairs preparing the food. Dan Feng is finishing up with last-minute gifts and Jing Yuan has finished responding to emails before sending the remaining staff home to their families.
For Yanqing, the best part of the holidays is the gifts. He has a pile of gifts under the tree ranging from clothes to swords to money. By the end of it, he is standing in a pool of wrapping paper and ribbon.
The others give a bit more practical gifts. Coffee that was imported from the IPC, sweet wine that was sent as tribute to the Lupfu, and rare books acquired during travels. They were adults with their own money so there wasn't any need to buy them anything.
The rest of the day is spent together in the living room. They have a large lunch and dinner together and Yanqing entertains himself with all the toys he has now acquired. However, he is warned to be careful when a flying sword almost spears an expensive tapestry. The adults mostly spend the day chatting and consuming an unhealthy amount of festive and alcoholic drinks.
Christmas in my home is very mellow and there are not a lot of festivities, so I based it on that. :D
I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
Thank you for the ask!

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
Tumblr media
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
Tumblr media
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

I am so excited about writing Chapter 4 of Elegy but trying to find a suitable sad playlist is hard. If you guys have recommendations I will take them. I listen to Olivia Rodrigo, instrumentals, Bollywood love songs, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean love ballads.
My standard for chapter 4 is that it has to make me cry. Yes, it has to make me, the author who already know the ending, sob her eyes out. That is how I will know that it is ready 🥰

hiii, it's me again, thanks for spoiling us with your HC & AU as always 💖 💗
Anyway, I was curious, do you have any HC of what if Happy Family!AU meets with semi-cannon verse of RenJingHeng (that's still trying to bond with Yanqing despite their ✨Issues✨)?
I imagine it would be double the chaos since now they have TWO reckless, self-sacrificial, and insecure teen to watch over. That, and I want the HCQ to react to a what-if versions of themselves lolz. This could either go very well, or they just straight up start criticizing e/o method of parenting, and I can't make up my mind of which is better.
Hello!!! You're welcome, I enjoy writing these headcanons. 🥰
I do have HCs for this!!! I constantly compare the semi-cannon with the AU so I can differentiate their personalities and parenting styles.
I'll group them by character to make it easier.
Dan Feng- Dan Heng
They do not get along and Dan Feng started it. Dan Feng is very protective and doting to Yanqing.
He worries for Yanqing's wellbeing constantly and in his eyes, Dan Heng is neglectful and both Yanqing's should come home with him. Dan Heng's aloofness and his difficulties in connecting make Yanqing feel unsure of where he fits in RenJingHeng's new relationship.
To Dan Heng, Dan Feng's displays of affection contrast with his responsibility to the Vidyadhara, which leads Yanqing to make himself small so he doesn't stress out his father.
"How can you be okay with him going off like that? Getting possessed, sneaking off? He's practically skin and bones! Not to mention, you almost killed him. What kind of father are you?"
"You're one to talk to. Your son is so worried about disappointing you that he puts himself in harm's way constantly to prove himself!"
"Your's does the same!"
This ends with both of them crying and being very upset. Dan Feng has always struggled with emotions and can only communicate through words and acts of affection. Dan Heng is unsure how to communicate and care for Yanqing since he was never allowed to be a child and has no idea how to fit himself into the family dynamics.
Yingxing- Ren
They also do not get along and Ren is responsible for it.
Yingxing is very affectionate to Yanqing despite his strictness. Ren is not affectionate at all and approaches the relationship with a bit of teasing but also a constant state of "you are a child but are nothing like Silver Wolf, so I don't know how to communicate with you."
Yingxing sort of pities Ren since he sees Ren's marastruck fate as what could have happened to him if the Blessings of the Arbor went awry.
But this does not stop either of them from disliking each other. Unlike Dan Heng and Dan Feng, they do not engage with each other at all and instead actively ignore each other.
To Yingxing, Ren is confused and doesn't know how to interact with other people. However, his confusion creates more confusion for Yanqing, who believes that he is being pushed out of the family because of Canon! Jing Yuan is spending more time to incorporate Ren into his life.
To Ren though, Yingxing is a hypocrite. While Ren doesn't know how to interact with Yanqing, Yingxing is the same with his child. He doesn't understand why his child is sacrificial and reckless as if they weren't the traits he saw valued by his parents- their sacrificial and reckless actions in service to the Luofu.
AU! Jing Yuan - Canon! Jing Yuan
They get along pretty well since they are both very mellow people and their nature allows them to understand the other. Their time is spent comparing their respective sons. Hobbies? Favorite foods? Even habits as babies?
Some are similar like sword collecting but others are very different like AU! Yanqing prefers Vidyadhara seafood cuisine and spicy food over Canon! Yanqing prefers savory food from the Luofu and sweet treats like pudding and boba.
They also talk about their worries for their son. About how AU! Yanqing keeps throwing himself in danger to save his comrades even though his death would break his family's heart or how Canon! Yanqing keeps searching for stronger and stronger opponents in a relentless need to improve.
Jingliu
They don't talk at all. I don't see either of them seeing any merit in talking with each other. Instead, they communicate with their blades. To them, crossing blades with an opponent tells them what they need to know. The fight takes 30 minutes and by the end of it, both parties take their leave and stay silent for the rest of the day. If you asked the others, they could not tell you a single thing said during the fight. However, to the sword masters, they knew all they needed to know.
Baiheng
Well, she sort of dead in the canon so there isn't anything she can react to. She is, however, very sad that she passed and left Jing Yuan alone. even if her death was for a good cause.
AU! Yanqing- Canon! Yanqing
They talk about swords. That is honestly it. Their parents are fighting each other so they thought it would be best to avoid additional confrontation. They have also repressed a lot of their childhood insecurities so both of them are not exactly aware of the fact their behaviors are not the healthiest.
AU! Yanqing throws himself in the line of fire because he's seen his parents do it. He wants to protect the Luofu because his fathers spent so much time governing it and ensuring its peace and prosperity. But also, deep down, he wants to show that he is worthy of being their son.
Canon! Yanqing masters the sword not for glory, but to ease the general's burden. They do not call each other father and son even though both parties see each other that way. However, since things are never said, Yanqing believes Jing Yuan sees him as merely an apprentice rather than family. So now that Jing Yuan is bringing Dan Heng and Ren into his life, Yanqing is waiting for when he'll be served the eviction notice.
This was a really fun ask and I hope you enjoyed it!!! Please feel free to send more!

absolutely loving the au, here to ask a question and to offer up my own ideas because i am brainrotting and adoring this
my question is, are you ok with people writimg their own fics of this au? credit of course will be given to you if permission to post is permitted on ao3, and it'll also be gifted, but i haven't written anything for hsr yet and i wanna get to practising the sillies
second, what ideas/petnames/doting names did jy, yx and df call yanqing when he was younger? and alternatively, if there's ever a time where yanqing is upset, would they call him that, even when hes a bit older, to comfort him, just an old habit they can't shake?
and, also, what similarities do yoy think he shares the most with each respective parent? yingxing and him definitely bond over swords, but what about the others?
i have plentyyy more ideas brewing in the ol noggin but i adore this AU, i think its wonderfully written and i cant wait to see what happens in elegy! have a good day!
Hello!!!!
Yes! Please feel free to write your own fics of this au, just remember to credit me and let me know because I would love to read it. 🥰 If you want any information on my AU that I have not posted about/published yet, let me know I will be more than happy to provide you with the info. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. 😁
The main petname that shows up in the fics is "Little Bird". All three of them call Yanqing this because when he was little, the sparrows and fiches would like to perch on his crib to look at him and Yanqing loved to copy them. He would flap his arms to mimic a bird flying whenever he saw one. They still call him that in private, though it gets less and less common as Yanqing gets older.
It does show up when they are comforting him, especially when he is upset about something concerning them. When he is upset, Yanqing likes to hide in dark places where other people can't reach him. He'll hide in the corner of his bed with the drapes pulled down or in his closet behind his clothes. His dads will often call him "little bird" to coax him out to get them to talk to him.
You are correct, Yanqing shares his interest in swords with Yingxing. For Dan Feng, it's the arts, primarily music. The Vidyadharas are known for their music and profoundly sad ballads. Music has always had its place in traditional education, particularly those of wealth and nobility, so I see Dan Feng knowing music and incorporating music into Yanqing's education. I can see Dan Feng giving Yanqing his jade dizi as a present.
For Jing Yuan, I don't see it as any tangible like swords or instruments but rather politics. Even though he is young, Jing Yuan will also give him exercises. "Who is talking?" "Who is listening?" "Who is at this event and who is not?" "If this were to happen, who would benefit and who would lose?" Yanqing's birth has always been a focus of gossip and his every movement is judged due to his position and lineage. So Jing Yuan considers it important he knows how to defend himself in these situations. If the three of them were to pass, Yanqing would still inherit titles and fortune and Jing Yuan could not bear it if someone took advantage of his son after he passed.
AWWW!!! THANK YOU!!! I love answering asks so please feel free to send more. I am also excited for the next chapter. I want the angst to be perfect.

*Me Thinking About How to Traumatize Jing Yuan with Yanqing*
So—
Aggressive Truck Noises in the Background
That is honestly me and I feel like the aggressive truck noises is everyone who reads my work!😆
The tragedy of a parent burying their child is something I think about a lot and it shows in my work. On the notes app, I have a list of pending ideas and 98% of it is just potential fics of Jing Yuan suffering. I have one where Jing Yuan goes insane from grief and another where he forget Yanqing even existed in order to keep him from being mara-struck. I even have one where Mimi is grieving over Yanqing and instead of sleeping in her bed, starts to sleep in the cold courtyard where Jing Yuan and Yanqing used to train because that was the last time they were all together.
Sometimes I traumatize Yanqing and by extension Jing Yuan. Imagine as Yanqing gets older and older, Jing Yuan doesn't hug him anymore. It slowly becomes a pat on the head and then a hand on the shoulder before devolving into just saying "Good job, Yanqing." Jing Yuan never pulls him into a hug like he used to. It is only when Yanqing is gravely injured does he feel that familiar warmth again as Jing Yuan cradles him in his arms, telling him he'll be okay and begging him to hang on.
Elegy took 3 months to brainstorm because the first couple plans were a bit much for me. Which is why I have a rule to upload fluff in between chapters of Elegy as a buffer. 😂
Let me know if you guys want more angsty/tragic headcanons

To your last post: I love a hc that all the protection charms Yanqing wears are from Jing Yuan: he's proud of his student (son) and is confident in his abilities but deep down as a parent he's deeply worried about Yanqing's well-being, especially when he isn't near to personally insure his safety. (and Yanqing certainly doesn't make his life easier, running away to fight criminals and go on solo missions kskdkd). He totally prays to Lan
P.S. I love your fics and headcanons about the HCQ and Yanqing so much! Thank you for writing them!!
Hello!!!! I'm so glad you love my work, I really enjoy making them for everyone to read!!!
I know this reply is a bit late, I am behind on answering all my asks 😅
In canon, I have a headcanon that Jing Yuan took Yanqing in when he was a little baby, barely a month old. Jing Yuan was already so tired of his role and his life when he came across Yanqing. He was absolutely taken in by the baby, who seemed to babble endlessly and cry when Jing Yuan set him down. With this new sense of fatherhood also came a sense of fear and anxiety since babies are so fragile and Yanqing was so, so very curious.
The first was the silver lock charm, which was originally on a silver hoop to prevent Yanqing from choking. Jing Yuan got it not long after he took in Yanqing. The charm was decorated with auspicious symbols for Yanqing to live a long and healthy life. He knew a long life was a small ask for Xianzhou Natives, but he had seen war and knew full well how easy it was to die. Yanqing enjoyed the charm greatly, especially the little tinkling sounds the bells made.
The second was the red string on his ankle, a symbol of protection and good fortune. Yanqing was probably about 6 months old when he got the anklet. A gift from Jing Yuan, he had heard of the tradition from Yukong when she got Qingni and Tingyun a red bracelet. Survival is based on luck 50% of the time and he prayed that Yanqing could receive all the good fortune he could get.
The last one was the bells, a bracelet that was also given to babies for good luck and protection. The bracelet was bought in conjunction with the lock charm but Yanqing had a habit of sticking the bells into his mouth so the bracelet was removed of out of fear it was a potential choking hazard. It was given to Yanqing at 1 year old when he outgrew the phase of shoving things in his mouth and instead started the crawl off. The jingling of the bells quickly signaled his location and allowed everyone to keep an eye on him. In the early years, the bells were the most useful protection charm Yanqing had.
While they did not get rid of his anxiety, they did assuage it a little bit. A little bit of hope for Yanqing's safety and survival and a symbol of Jing Yuan's love for his only son.
Please feel free to send more 🥰

Dragons are possessive creatures and Dan Heng is no different. He’s protective of his friends and family, and especially his boyfriends. He knows they’re attractive and it’s obvious they would garner the attention of others but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. He makes it known that Jing Yuan and Blade are his, whether it be gifting them wearable trinkets, commissioning them jade amulets, or using his powers to cast protective spells. If they are in public with crowds, he’s unconsciously holding their hands or his tail is wrapped around their ankle. Most of the time, he doesn’t realize that he’s doing it but the dragon part of his brain screams “THEY ARE MINE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THEY ARE MINE. IF PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THEY ARE MINE, THEY WILL TAKE THEM FROM ME. IF YOU TAKE THEM FROM ME, I WILL KILL YOU AND DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU LOVE.”
What Dan Heng didn’t expect was how protective he would be over Yanqing. When he started dating, Yanqing was always Jing Yuan’s kid. Jing Yuan took care of his education, health, training, etc. At some point in the relationship, Dan Heng started taking part in it too whether it be scouring the archives to help with a research project or picking up medicine for a cold. He also started casting protective spells on Yanqing as well and was always close by when the kid had a mission on the Luofu. Somewhere in his dragon-brain, it had come up with “Yanqing = tiny child. Tiny child lives in my home = My tiny child. MUST PROTECT MY CHILD AT ALL COST.”
This leads to Dan Heng spoiling him with whatever he wants, whether it be a sword from the market or a priceless sheath from a nearby planet, Dan Heng becomes increasingly doting, but he also becomes increasingly agitated when Yanqing is threatened or hurt. One time, Yanqing ended up with a broken arm after a mission, a result of an untimely fall off a floating platform. When word reached Dan Heng, he quickly returned from his travels with the Astral Express to check up on him. Where he spent a week by the kid’s bedside cutting up fruit for him and fetching him anything he needed.

Mimi bypassing Jing Yuan to greet Yanqing
Yes!!!!
She would skip all the head pats just to get to her baby.
If the family goes on vacation and she doesn't see them for a week or 2, she is waiting at the front gates until they get back. The moment Yanqing is back, Mimi is on it. She is sidestepping everyone to get to her favorite baby in the universe. Jing Yuan is a bit sad from the rejection but also a bit amused at the same time.

hello hello hello hello
Hi I would like to know some happy birthday headcanons for Yanqing thank you :)
Hello!!!!
Always so happy to hear from you!!!!
I am answering this the day before my birthday so this is very fun for me!!!😁
Yanqing's birthday is the day Jing Yuan found him and brought him home. They don't know who is parents are nor are there any records of him so his birthday is the day he came into their lives.
Back when Yanqing was in school, before he joined the Cloud Knights, he would have a birthday party with friends on the closest weekend and celebrate only with his family on the day of his actual birthday.
A typical birthday for Yanqing involves him getting the day off from his duties spending the day in the market. Yingxing will sometimes join him and it's usually when he will buy whatever sword Yanqing wants. Meanwhile, Jingliu and Baiheng take the reins in planning and decorating. Back during the days of the HCQ, Baiheng planned birthday parties for everyone and now that war is not an issue, she really goes all out.
During the evening, Yanqing will celebrate dinner with his family, Bailu, Yukong, Qingni, Tingyun, and Fu Xuan. The kitchen staff go all out when it comes to preparing dinner and the flavor of the cake changes every year so it's a surprise for Yanqing as well. Bailu also looks forward to the surprise cake flavor and blocks her calendar out months in advance.
His favorite cakes so far is his 8th birthday cake which was a strawberry and lemon cake and his 13th birthday cake which was chocolate and coffee. He loves all his cakes and he always looks forward to the surprise flavors.
Gifts come last and are usually the most anticipated affair for the younger children. A lot of Yanqing's gifts are swords, sheaths, and other sword related items.
The people who don't give Yanqing swords are Fu Xuan, who usually gives Yanqing books and scrolls for his flute playing; Baiheng, who gets him the latest toys and gadgets (one year he got a cycrane that was able to fly downstairs, get him snacks, and bring them back up); and Tingyun, who gets him trashy wuxia romance novels so they can laugh about it together.
Grandpa Huaiyan usually can't attend but he does send his finest sword to Yanqing every year.
The kids will play together until they completely knock. Yukong will have to carry Qingni and Tingyun home while Bailu sleeps over. The adults can usually tell when it's time to go home since the living room will get mysteriously quiet and the kids are either sleeping on the floor or couch.
For the adults, it's a time for them to get together and drink as much as they want. Half the time they are complaining about work and the other half is them talking about how their children are, except for Fu Xuan, who is enjoying her single, childfree life. :)
For Yanqing's dads, they are always bittersweet about his birthdays. They love that he's growing up and they are always more than happy to celebrate him but him growing up means they can't keep arounds and protect him like they used to.
Thank you for sending me the ask and feel free to send in more!!!
