ORCA SIMU - YEAR 1, SEASON 1 (SPRING)

EVENTS AND WEATHER
There was no documented events or significant weather patterns this season.
SIGHTINGS
There were several pods and individuals sighted this season, .Whale watchers report seeing XT5 Freyr, the XTC group, the XT18s, XT20 Sky, the XTU1s, and the RX1s. All whales appeared to be in good condition.
Researchers were alerted to the presence of these pods and were able to encounter XT5 Freyr, the XTU1s, and the RX1s thanks to the reports. They were also able to encounter the XTAs this season.
XT5 Freyr was documented in good condition, though not particularly active. Researchers were unable to get close enough to take any samples from him, as he was fast travelling south towards where a harbour seal colony had been spotted earlier in the week. Freyr was spotted later in the season with XT20 Sky and then with XT6 Skadi and XT8 Obsidian, though Skadi and Obsidian was not photographed.
The XTAs and XTU1s were encountered together and researchers were able to take fecal samples from XT1 Xalpa, XT2 Tallon, XT3 Xerxes, XT22 Chalcedony, and XT23C Marcela. Tests showed that all samples had traces of porpoise DNA. Breath samples were also collected from Tallon and XT23A Elio. Both samples indicated the whales are in good pneumatic health. In addition, blubber samples were taken from Xerxes and Marcela, the later who tried to unsuccessfully steal the pole being used to take her blubber sample. Tests were inconclusive about both whales paternity.
The only Resident pod sighted this season, the RX1s were encountered after being sighted by whale watchers. The encounter was brief and RX1 Kardinol, RX2 Hawke, and RX3 Raven were confirmed to be in the late stages of pregnancy. Researchers quickly left them to avoid possibly distressing the females, but RX4 Raptor followed them. Raptor circled them for a short while after researchers cut the engine and they were able to take a breath and a blubber sample from him. Tests showed he's in good health and genetic tests proved inconclusive to determine paternity.

ah, fellow siren enthusiast! i just want to ask, what's your favorite siren and why? it can be more than one, my personal favorites are the xT22 line, the Thunderbolt line, most Sterling sirens, and Modulators.
Hey it’s great to meet another siren enthusiast!! The Thunderbolt series is my top favourite but I also love the XT22 series, HOR Super Sirex 15, ACA Allertor, ACA Banshee and Modulators! I’m sure I’m missing a few but those are my biggest favourites ^___^

ORCA SIMU - YEAR 2, SEASON 1 (SPRING)

EVENTS AND WEATHER
An immense major storm system ripped through the territory early this Spring, causing an increase in boat traffic as multiple vessels were diverted through the area. By mid-season, historic floods ravaged the already-damaged nuclear plant and the resulting meltdown and explosion discharged several thousand tons of radioactive contamination into the South Dakl'aweidi Sea. There were no reported cetacean strandings, however researchers will continue to closely monitor the health of the whales.
SIGHTINGS
This season saw a total of 8 different pod and individual sightings.
Early this season, prior to the storms, researchers caught up with both XT8 Obsidian and XT10 Thymo. The pair of bulls were spotted dozing near a northern seal colony, unbothered by the appearance of the research vessel. The two were extremely tactile, frequently bumping rostrums and pectoral fins as well as lazily gliding against each other. Their cuddle session was interrupted by an overly confident seal that had caught Thymo's attention and he switched into hunting mode. Obsidian remained behind and only followed his companion when it was clear that Thymo was willing to share the kill.
During the encounter, researchers were able to get a breath sample from Obsidian, which appeared healthy.
Thymo was heard later this season over the hydrophones, not to far from the seal colony.
XTU1s were also spotted earlier this season by the coast guard. During the height of the storms, a heavily pregnant XT23 Cecilia carefully lead the pod through the obstacle course of debris that choked the bay. In the murky waters, XT22A Carnelian, XT23A Elio, XT23B Estrella, and XT23C Marcela appeared less bothered than their guide. The novelty of loose buoys and overturned boats were not lost on the youngsters, who would frequently stop to mouth a rogue piece of wood or drag lengths of rope along with them. The only one who appeared to not have a great time with all the new playthings was XT22B, who fretfully tail-slapped as soon as he drifted out of reach from his mother's touch. XT22 Chalcedony had slowed to a crawl in order for him to keep up, she too seemed fearful of losing him. The coast guard kept a close eye on the whales until the pod reached deeper water and disappeared. Several days after, witnesses from shore noticed a new calf with fetal folds travelling with the XTU1s, though the calf was flanked by several females and it's unknown who its mother is at this time.
Mid-season saw several humpbacks enter the Dakl'aweidi Sea, one of which appeared injured from the previous storm. Researchers were deployed to ID the wounded animal, but the XT24s got to the humpback first.
Researchers witnessed the end of the hunt as XT24 Calamity, XT24A Gaia, and XT24B Okeanos pushed the humpback beneath the waves. Between injury and exhaustion, he was no match for them. In no time the pod began to piece out the meat, with Okeanos loudly providing commentary. Gaia tail-thrashed several times, each slap harsher than the last, as she called in the rest of the pod. XT24C Tempest exploded from the depths, breaching and making an aggressive pass alongside the research vessel. It was only then did the crew notice that they'd accidentally put themselves between her and her charges, the calves XT24A1 and XT24D, who'd been waiting on the sidelines away from the death throes of the humpback. Thankfully, the calves were quick to meet up with their baby-sitter and quicker still to find their mothers. With everyone reunited and feeding, the pod seemed to relax enough for researchers to stay in the area.
During the encounter, researchers were able to get a breath sample from Gaia. She appears to be in good health. A fecal sample was also collected from Tempest and it was clear she'd fed on humpback whale. Photos from the encounter also determined XT24A1 to be a female and XT24D to be male.
Several transient pods were in the area this season, but moved off before researchers could document them. According to various reports, all members of the XT4s, XT6 Skadi, and XTU2s are accounted for - as well as the lone bulls XT20 Sky and XT16 Old Sam.
As for the resident pods, a fishing charter crew were delighted to witness an early morning encounter with the SXAs. SX1 Mara, SX2 Leios, and SX4 Tilli worked quickly to corral their breakfast of Chinook salmon, briefly using the drifting boat as a barrier to keep their quarry from escaping. SX3 Raya remained at a distance, warily eyeing the men aboard and constantly positioning herself between the boat and SX22, her infant calf. SX10 Arno had no such qualms about the fishermen and busied himself with several spy-hops and aerial scans, desperately trying to see the crew above until he was called away by his mother, Mara.
By the time researchers managed to reach the scene, the SXAs were long gone. However, the OX8s were in the area just to the north, following the school of Chinook salmon towards Silver Bay.
Reseachers caught up with them and observed multiple breaches from OX5 Rosie and her newborn, OX11. Perhaps due to their rough-housing, OX10 Tulip and OX6 Luna had split off from Rosie to tussle with each other. OX8 Lily followed them, but was momentarily distracted by a salmon darting in and out of the shallows. OX7 Arnen met up with the calves, gleefully joining their wrestling and swimming upside-down beneath them. At one point, he nearly launched poor Tulip with an overzealous tail-lob. Arnen was immediately descended upon by both Rosie and Lily, who chased and disciplined him, pursuing the bull until he took refuge beside the research vessel.
During the encounter, researchers managed to snag a breath sample from both Arnen and Luna. Both of which are in good health. A fecal sample was also collected from Tulip and revealed he'd fed on Chinook salmon. Photos from the encounter determined OX11 to be a male.
Late in the season researchers managed to track down the SXBs, meeting up with them around Arrow Point in the late evening.
The pod was cruising at a high speed, seemingly in pursuit of something. It appeared to be a harbor porpoise and SX7 Si, SX5 Wayra, and SX9 Druid were hot on its tail. While not part of their diet, the behaviour continued for several hours, almost as if it were a training exercise. The pod seemed intent on catching the swift-moving porpoise, with Wayra managing to inflict a deep gash into its tail stock. The porpoise fled into deeper water and only then was it finally able to outmanoeuvred them. SX8 Taco broke off from the pod to perform a series of breaches and cartwheels, seemingly exhilarated by the chase. She was quickly joined by the calves, SX11 Burrito, SX21, and SX23.
SX6 Gunther was not present during the porpoise hunt, but he had been spotted a few days earlier on his own, mating with several different females.
As the pod moved off, researchers managed to get breath samples from both Burrito and SX23. Both of which are in good health. A fecal sample collected from Druid revealed he'd been eating sockeye salmon. Photos from the encounter determined SX23 to be female.
The SXCs were also in the area this season, but only provided a few fleeting calls on the hydrophones.
