I was talking to a friend a while ago about Pokémon that got the fairy type once Gen 6 rolled around, and I said that “gardevior didn’t need the fairy type to be good, it was already a good Pokémon, it needed the fairy type to stay competitive and viable alongside gallade” and that’s a take I still stand by today, and I belive my friend also agreed with me, with them iirc taking about how even though gardevior gained a major boon in the fairy type, it’s still more or less on par with gallade, if but a more defensive (and special oriented) variant

And, complete fucking pivot here, but I think the bundle of horseshoe balloons from terraria is in a similar boat, although it is worth noting that I’m going mostly by “on paper” analyses for the most part right now, as I haven’t tried it yet, but I hopefully will soon

the bundle of balloons was already one of the best mobility accessories in prehardmode, with it probably being in third place, with shield of cuthulu and terraspark boots tying for first, and I don’t think the lucky horseshoe being added on really raises it up to par with these other accessories, it’s still probably in third for me, but it does allow you to use up all four jumps without wasting one to prevent fall damage, and prevents accidental fall damage deaths on account of the player being a complete moron temporarily for five seconds, rather, I think what the bundle of balloons really benefits from with the horseshoe is being more competitive against wings, specifically the early wings, the ones that arnt that good, this is especially considering that, at least in my opinion, the balloon accessories are much more compatible with the rocket boots accessories, as it allows you to actually use the jump from the rocket instead of it slightly increasing your wingtime (such an increase that’s probably barely noticable on the early wings to begin with), once my current character enters hardmode I’ll probably test these two out in comparison with their supporting accessories (amphibian boots for wings and terraspark for balloons, and maybe test out terraspark with the early wings as well) but regardless of my findings I doubt they will prevent me from using more of a mount build against the early prehardmode bosses, I just love Pigron and Pillion too much

Buffalo Wild Wings and March Madness

There is no partnership quite like Buffalo Wild Wings and overtime. If you remember back over the last couple of years, they’d had commercials of teams calling BWW and asking to send the game into overtime, where a bartender would then do something to make the game go to overtime.

Now, with March Madness, BWW is really bringing that full circle. In my opinion, their advertising has been brilliant. Every time a game has gone into overtime, there is immediately a BWW commercial. It states that anyone who has their app just got six wings for free because of overtime.

Then, when the game is back on, the announcers say “This overtime was made possible by Buffalo Wild Wings.” It’s brilliant! They’re continuing to play on their commercials from years ago by incorporating free food and great publicity to an event that millions of people are watching.

BWW’s Twitter has really kept up with March Madness and their advertising scheme, as well. They have created brackets for their best wing flavors that followers vote for to find a champion. Currently, the wing bracket is down to the “Savory Eight” and followers are voting to get their wing flavor into the “Wild Four.” 

They also post a tweet every time a game goes into overtime to remind their followers about their free wing deal. There have been a total of five overtime games and tweets, and all of the tweets follow the same pattern of posting which game went to overtime, how fans can get their free wings and a GIF with the words “Overtime Wingtime.”

All of this is a great marketing plan. The advertisements on TV and the app are good marketing tactics, and then they are really using Twitter to engage with their customers.
