I think it's interesting Tom Cruise is there, purely from the Hollywood angle of it (ignoring the aviation focus and ignoring that Scientology is trying to make it big in the UK and ignoring that the Scientoligists are probably using Tom's ability to rub shoulders with the royals as a recruitment tactic).
It's definitely overstating Meghan and Harry's importance, but Tom Cruise always popping up at these things makes it seem like someone wants to make it clear that he is very firmly on #Team Royals. And I think it's interesting because he was one of Diana's celebrity friends and was one of the people who called the press after she died to scream about the paparazzi and media harrasment.
So the logical conclusion for Tom is that he would be on Harry's side, since they've got Diana and the paparazzi/media hatred in common. But he isn't. He keeps showing up for the institution - the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the Top Gun premiere in 2022, the Coronation in 2023, and now William's charity gala in 2024. It does make me wonder if someone from Archewell or the Sussex camp has been trying to connect with him - after all, if Harry feels it's approprate to approach John Travolta about getting his award after they met one time in a hotel bar, then clearly someone probably thinks they could approach Tom Cruise on an equally random thing.
Thanks anon, I am not touching the scientology topic with a 10 foot pole.
