i love choi yeonjun so much

i am once again thinking about the hilichurl rogue :(
the first time i fought it was actually yesterday after climbing a mountain in fontaine cause i wanted to see what it was and the drops really reminded me of neanderthal flower burials + how both neanderthals and hilichurls are/have been seen as primitive beings despite tons of evidence to the contrary (ignoring what we know about khaenri'ah since the curse of the wild seems to cause them to be catatonic for a period of time).
theres tons of literature on how neanderthals actually appear to be similar to homo sapiens and have higher mental functioning as evidenced through their tools, their presumed social structures (taking care of injured/disabled neanderthals rather than abandoning them as would be thought of beings focused only on survival), but most notably for this the evidence of "flower burials" at Shanidar.
Basically, two neanderthals were found buried in primarily medicinal flowers (indicating their possible role in their group). I believe there were 11(?) other neanderthals found there who appeared to have been crushed by rockfall whos ages (if my memory is correct) were from around 7 to mid 40s. The reason i bring this up is because of one of the flowers found at Shanidar: Achillea/Yarrows. I find these flowers to be fairly similar in appearance of the petals (excluding size) to the hilichurl rogues drops

Thinking about the disturbing implications of Cain's story and destiny from the Bible rn
#cw religion#no because like. cain didn't come out of the womb throwing rocks; how did he even think that it was healthy to stone his brother? it leads#me to believe that potentially; he either saw the angel war going on in the sky and thought that those who stayed in heaven and were treated#well; even with the violence that happened (from what he had seen and potentially heard); were. well how to say it. their actions were#normal. god created everything; and can think anything as normal. or he saw his parents fighting. i refuse to believe that adam and eve were#one of those healthy couples; even after the biting of the apple and getting kicked out of the garden of eden. i fear that cain and abel saw#the two fighting; potentially even going as far as to threaten each other with stones; and when the two excused it; the kids thought of it#as normal. keep in mind: violence is not born out of nowhere unless you're god; violence is taught; seen; heard of. it didn't make it any#better that there seemed to be no other people outside of the family yet that could tell them that that behaviour was wrong. so imagine#cain's shock upon seeing his brother not breathing. the shock that he murdered him. the shock that the threats that his parents did to each#other or that the angel war happening; were not normal. his brother was dead now. of course he had to lie when god came by. he quite surely#felt panicked to the point that he accidentally made a comeback to god. how could he not? he was a kid. they both were. and he felt regret.#he felt remorse. he felt anger to himself. and yet; god punished him. cain thought it was fair; because he killed his brother. but after a#while; it didn't seem fair. as he grew up; he thought that god telling him that he would be cursed to spend eternity roaming around the#earth would only last for until he was in his 30s. mortality rates were quite surely high back then; so he naturally thought that what god#said was metaphorical. because caine felt that way. that his remorse and anger and pain would roam eternally on earth. but after his#partner; and his children; and his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren died; it didn't seem to be fair anymore. he wanted to die. he#had witnessed and felt everything: the flood; the crossing of the sea; the plagues; the goddamned everything. he still felt pain. he knew#why he was cursed; but he felt like what god did; was just plain cruel. he felt as though purgatory and getting juried out to see if you#were getting sent to hell or to heaven; was much more simplier; and had less pain; than dealing with the fact that you were now just a#walking body. something that used to be a person. something that should've been dead a long time ago. and yet. he was still alive. he just#wanted it to end. he knew what he did was wrong. but he just wanted to go back home. he wanted to start from scratch and be protective of#his brother and run away from god's view. but he couldn't now. he was cursed. he is now just a legend. a myth. a terror tale amongst the#folks in several towns that swear that they had seen him amongst the shadow. he must've been. after all; he looked ghastly enough to have a#tale or two written about him. ...would cain go near jesus? to ask him to please grant him mercy from this thing that he had now become?#or would he frightened? fearing that jesus would be as cruel as his god? obviously caine would be worried. jesus is supposed to be god's#child after all... i don't know it's just he reminds me of twilight sparkle and i just had to write this down-#cw corpse#spideygal#spideygal oc

trying to decide what to read next
#i've got 3 more weeks of holiday i could binge read some webnovels#all my classic literature is on campus on anyway#i could also read the Real Books i have at home but that is not as entertaining#so. i could read another romance OR i could finally start either trash of the count's family or sss-class revival hunter#HOWEVER those are LONG#whereas i could read like 2-3 shorter novels in the same time#where's that tiktok of the guy calculating in detail which kdrama to watch next because that's what it feels like rn#you see i want to read The Earth Is Online but after the trainwreck that was Kaleidoscope of Death maybe i should#read something other than action fantasy for a change#so i could go with a historical political drama like Dinghai Fusheng Records OR i could read Silent Reading which is modern mystery drama#the latter which i have on my kindle but the former i would have to read on my phone from the website#but my mom doesn't like seeing me read on my phone because text too small#i could also read Can Ci Pin which is a scifi space opera#HOWEVER for optimal scifi reading i need to be in the middle of the semester studying physics or it wont hit the same#anyway. hope you enjoyed this insight into my brain when i try to pick something to read. will update

What an awful curse to be a person who theoretically loves maximalism but hates seeing stuff that has been stored outside cupboards, hates dusting, is terrified of somehow decorating The Wrong Way and being laughed at, is extremely clumsy, and has no real motivation to purchase nicknacks

I have yet to keep inspecting the sweepstakes, I need some air and food first, but I might as well share what I've been thinking about Mike today, because I heard of an interpretation saying Mike was a camera man for Spamton which ... Is very interesting. Like for me this makes me think of Mike as someone who admired Spamton, someone way smaller than him, definitely younger imo, who simply excitedly followed along with the orders given. I mean, up to a certain point. I mean this feeling is reinforced in the q&a when asked about Mike, that makes Spamton get very defensive, almost protective. In my eyes it almost creates this almost platonic familiar bond dynamic whatever. But like this is just a shot in the dark, bc what we know is, 3 lines, period. But if when chapter 3, 4 and 5 come out and Mike is there and I'm right about these things then I'm gonna feel like a god tbh.

You know what I find the Most funny about depictions of aliens or supernatural beings being so disdainful of humans is that people take that as fact now. It's become so common that people rarely write them any other way and so many people I've talked to speak of that trope like it's a known fact of the universe. But like, we made that up. That's humanity's own self hatred, who here has actually had a conversation with a 5000 year old tree spirit and had it tell them humans are despicable creatures that must be eradicated for nature to survive bitch that's just you read an ecology book
#That especially is one of the dumbest things I've heard bc anyone who understands ecology outside of their doomerism would get that the idea#that humans are a virus or a plague among nature is dumb as shit. Humans ARE a part of nature.#Yes humans do things that negatively affect the earth tahst why we're havinf a climate crisis#but removing yourselves from the equation isnt the solution#anyway i think supernatural beings can deal with humans in a normal way#i think it says more about how humans themselves view an existence different from them#than any idea that humans are inherently despicable and doomed as a species#anyway this is also why i love tumblr making supernatural creatures just kind of silly guys#yes you Can coexist wifh the thing that lives in your bathroom and could tear youe mind apart if you looked at it directly#it wants you to buy more cornflakes btw#idk species existing together is far more interesting to me than the 'what if there was racism against humans and we deserved it' stuff
