The Grumman S-2 Tracker (S2F prior to 1962) was the first purpose-built, single airframe anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft to enter service with the United States Navy. Designed and initially built by Grumman, the Tracker was of conventional design — propeller-driven with twin radial engines, a high wing that could be folded for storage on aircraft carriers, and tricycle undercarriage. The type was exported to a number of navies around the world. Introduced in 1952, the Tracker and its E-1 Tracer derivative saw service in the U.S. Navy until the mid-1970s, and its C-1 Trader derivative until the mid-1980s, with a few aircraft remaining in service with other air arms into the 21st century. Argentina and Brazil are the last countries to still use the Tracker. Design and development- The Tracker was intended as a replacement for the Grumman AF Guardian, which was the first purpose-built aircraft system for ASW, using two airframes for two versions, one with the detection gear, and the other with the weapon systems. The Tracker combined both functions in one aircraft. Grumman's design (model G-89) was for a large high-wing monoplane with twin Wright Cyclone R-1820 nine cylinder radial engines, a yoke type arrestor hook and a crew of four. Both the two prototypes XS2F-1 and 15 production aircraft, S2F-1 were ordered at the same time, on 30 June 1950. The first flight was conducted on 4 December 1952, and production aircraft entered service with VS-26, in February 1954. Follow-on versions included the WF Tracer and TF Trader, which became the Grumman E-1 Tracer and Grumman C-1 Trader in the tri-service designation standardization of 1962. The S-2 carried the nickname "Stoof" (S-two-F) throughout its military career; and the E-1 Tracer variant with the large overhead radome was colloquially called the "stoof with a roof.". Grumman produced 1,185 Trackers. At least 99 and possibly 100 aircraft carrying the CS2F designation were manufactured in Canada under license by de Havilland Canada. U.S.-built versions of the Tracker were sold to various nations, including Australia, Japan, Turkey and Taiwan. Sensors and armament- The Tracker had an internal torpedo bay capable of carrying two lightweight aerial torpedoes or one nuclear depth charge. There were six underwing hard points for rocket pods and conventional depth charges or up to four additional torpedoes. A ventrally-mounted retractable radome for AN/APS-38 radar and a Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD) AN/ASQ-8 mounted on an extendable rear mounted boom were also fitted. Early model Trackers had an Electronic Support Measures (ESM) pod mounted dorsally just aft of the front seat overhead hatches and were also fitted with a smoke particle detector or "sniffer" for detecting exhaust particles from diesel-electric submarines running on snorkel. Later S-2s had the sniffer removed and had the ESM antennae moved to four rounded extensions on the wingtips. A 70-million-candlepower searchlight was mounted on the starboard wing. The engine nacelles carried JEZEBEL sonobuoys in the rear (16 in early marks, 32 in the S-2E/G). Early Trackers also carried 60 explosive charges, dispensed ventrally from the rear of the fuselage and used to create sound pulses for semi-active sonar (JULIE) with the AN/AQA-3 and later AQA-4 detection sets, whereas the introduction of active sonobuoys (pingers) and AN/AQA-7 with the S-2G conversion saw these removed. Smoke dispensers were mounted on the port ventral surface of the nacelles in groups of three each.

"USN"自体は聞き馴染みがありますが、掠れた上に薄いのが最大のポイント。

NVYボディーのプリントもこのボディならではで良い雰囲気です。

U.S. Navy ships and aircraft are actively searching areas of the Gulf of Aden for two **missing** U.S. Navy SEALs. The search operation follows their mission to board and seize a vessel carrying components for medium-range Iranian ballistic missiles destined for Somalia.

Details of the Mission

A U.S. defense official revealed that the SEALs were on the USS Lewis B. Puller, a Navy expeditionary sea base vessel. They utilized small special operations combat craft to approach the vessel transporting the missile parts. The operation aimed to prevent the transfer of warheads and engines off the coast of Somalia. Identification of the Suspicious Vessel The vessel, identified as a dhow without a country flag, had a history of transporting illegal weapons from Iran to Somalia. Crew members aboard the dhow, totaling about a dozen, were taken into custody during the mission.

Search and Rescue Efforts

Tragically, during the boarding in rough seas around 8 p.m. local time, one SEAL was knocked off by high waves. A teammate went in after him, and currently, both are **missing**. The ongoing search involves U.S. Navy ships, helicopters, and drones in the Gulf of Aden.

Interception and Confiscation

Despite facing approximately a dozen crew members, the SEAL team successfully confiscated the weapons, and the vessel was sunk as part of routine procedure. This process typically involves blowing open holes in the hull for safety reasons.

Officials clarified that the SEAL mission is distinct from Operation Prosperity Guardian, the ongoing U.S. and international mission in the Red Sea. JK195 Pre WW2 U.S.NAVY 36J1 JACKET

アメリカ海軍の飛行服といえば、G-1が最も代表的な存在であるが、そのルーツはアヴィエータ―コートからはじまり、A-1型に移行した後、1930年代にはコットンシェルのフライトジャケットが着用されている。それはジャングルクロスの「37Ｊ1」という、その後のアビエータ―デッキジャケットに繋がるモデルとして知られているが、そのタイプには「A」「B」の二タイプが存在する。両者の違いはポケットの形状であり、「B」タイプはポケットにプリーツが入らないタイプとなる。

海軍のフライトジャケットの素材がレザーからジャングルクロスという布帛に変更する時期には、様々な箇所に仕様の変更がみられた。1920年代につくられた「A1レザージャケット」でも、製造業者が作ったサンプルを試着したパイロットが様々な意見を述べた資料が残っている。たとえばネックリブのボタンホールだ。

事実、1927年に行われたA1レザージャケットのテスト飛行でも、パイロットの意見として「リブニットに開けるボタンホールではなく、ループホールにするべきだ」とある。もっとも、これは単なる所見に過ぎず、他にも「レザーが高価なためシャモアクロスに」や、「ポケット位置」「内張りの生地」に至るまで様々な意見がでている。そしてこの時期に陸軍と海軍の両方で着用することを想定した内容も記載されており、その名称も「AN6501」となる予定であったというのも興味深い。「AN」はおそらく「ARMY」「NAVY」の頭文字だろう。どのような経緯かは不明であるが、その後両者はデザインの違うレザーフライトジャケットを採用するに至った。海軍において、その流れを汲むのが「37J1」である。

１９２０年代後期、皮革素材のフライトジャケットが数社によってテスト製造された。

そのサンプルを着用し、飛行テストを行ったパイロットによる所見が記載された資料が残っている。事実上、この後両軍はその用途に合わせたフライトジャケットへと袂を分つことになるが、海軍におけるその第一歩がジャングルクロスの「36J1」といえるのである。

「レザーから布帛への変更」や、「ボタンフロントからファスナーフロント」「ネックリブのボタンホール」そしてポケット位置など様々な意見が書かれているが、この時点ではその名も「AN6501」として、「A1型タイプ」が陸海軍の両方で共有されようとしていた事実も記載されている。

The AIM-54 Phoenix is/was a radar-guided, long-range air-to-air missile (AAM), carried in clusters of up to six missiles on the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, its only operational launch platform. The Phoenix was the United States' only long-range air-to-air missile. The combination of Phoenix missile and the AN/AWG-9 guidance radar was the first aerial weapons system that could simultaneously engage multiple targets. Due to its active radar tracking, the brevity code "Fox Three" was used when firing the AIM-54. Both the missile and the aircraft were used by Iran and the United States Navy. In US service both are now retired, the AIM-54 Phoenix in 2004 and the F-14 in 2006. They were replaced by the shorter-range AIM-120 AMRAAM, employed on the F/A-18 Hornet and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet—in its AIM-120D version, the latest version of the AMRAAM just matches the Phoenix's maximum range. The AIM-54 is credited with 62 air-to-air kills, all scored by Iran during the eight-year Iran–Iraq War. Following the retirement of the F-14 by the U.S. Navy, the weapon's only current operator is the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. こんにちは名古屋店コジャです。

名作TEEが数年の時を経て復活！！

WAREHOUSE & CO. Lot 4101 U.S.NAVY REVERSIBLE TEE 無地＼11.550-(with tax)

1940年代のU.S.NAVYのトレーニング用として作られていたものを再現しており、配色は嬉しいU.S.NAVYカラー【ネイビー×イエロー】。

リバーシブルTの醍醐味でもある両面の着用が可能となっております。

このTシャツの為に生産した生地は10番という太めの糸で編み上げていて地厚。且つ、その生地を２枚重ねてリバーシブルにしているので非常に肉厚。

タグはサイズ表記タグのみ。VINTAGEそのままの仕様です。

ネック部と袖は細めのバインダー仕様を２本針で縫製しています。

先ずは手に取って頂きましょう。生地感に思わず「スゴッ！！」と驚くこと必須かと。

そしてカッコイイ。。。

今回制作したリバーシブルTEEのパターンは身幅にゆとりを持たせております。

洗濯後の縮みは少しくらい。 (縮率はLot 4601よりも小さいか同程度。)

ネイビー面だと袖捲りしてイエローの生地をチラ見せ。なんてのもリバーシブルTEEを楽しむポイント。

髙木は以前リリースした物を愛用しており今回のこのサイズ感もお気に召したようです。

プリント入りにするか（後日入荷予定）無地でいくか迷っているみたいですよ。

ゆるいのがお好きなので、手にするならSIZE：42かなぁ〜とのこと。
