A photograph inside of British Railways (BR) Burton traction maintenance depot (17B?) showing part of the turntable, with two steam, and one diesel-electric locomotive in view. The steam numbers are hard to make out but I think they are, from left to right, Nos. 47643, 47250, and diesel-electric D5149. The photo is stuck in a old rail enthusiast album, unfortunately there is no date or photographer name, but they do appear to date from early/mid 1960s. ---------------------------------- No. 47643 was a H. Fowler designed class 3F, 0-6-0T engine, built by Beardmore, in Dalmuir, Glasgow and new to the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) in Jan 1929, carrying No. 16726, being renumbered to 7643 in 1934. In 1948 the railways were nationalised, becoming British Railways (BR), engine No. 7643 became No. 47643. The locomotive was withdrawn from service by BR in Oct 1966, then scrapped in June of the following year at 'Cashmore's Great Bridge' scrapyard. ---------------------------------- No. 47250 was a S. Johnson designed class 2441, 0-6-0T engine, built by the Vulcan Foundry and new to the Midland Railway (after grouping the London, Midland & Scottish Railway) in Jun 1902, carrying No. 2771, being renumbered to 1950 in 1907, then 7250 in 1934. In 1948 the railways were nationalised, becoming British Railways (BR), engine No. 7250 became No. 47250. The locomotive was withdrawn from service by BR in Jun 1965, then scrapped in the December. ---------------------------------- No. D5149 was a class 24, Bo-Bo wheeled diesel-electric locomotive, built by the Derby Works and new to BR in Feb 1961. It was withdrawn from service in Oct 1972, and in April of the following year was broken up at the Locomotive Works in St Rollox, Glasgow. ---------------------------------- If there are any errors in the above description please let me know. Richard Dabate, Connecticut inmate 420151, born 1976, incarceration intake in 2022 at age 46, scheduled for release 05/02/2087
Murder
Rick Dabate, who was convicted in May 2022 of murdering his wife Connie in 2015, was sentenced to 65 years in prison as Judge Corinne L. Klatt called his actions, "brutal, calculated, incomprehensible."
A jury found Dabate guilty of murder following a five-week trial. Dabate was also found guilty of tampering with evidence and making false statements.
Supporters of both the defendant and the victim spoke passionately to the judge during a period set aside prior to sentencing, and that includes Connie Dabate’s mother.
His mother-in-law shared details of a chilling phone conversation with her daughter the morning of her murder.
"The first thing she said on the phone was 'mom I love you,'" said Cindy Margotta. "You're my best friend. And I said, I didn't know what was going on, I said 'I love you too and you're a good friend of mine.'"
But Connie had more to say that morning.
"I just want to let you know Rick is a mess today," is what Connie said, according to her mom.
As a result of the tragedy that ensued, Cindy Margotta has regrets.
"I wish I had said 'well if he's such a mess why don't you come to my house and we'll have breakfast,'" she said outside Rockville Superior Court.
Rick and Connie Dabate's now teenage sons live with an aunt, who told the court one of the sons asked her to text his mom in heaven and to use a telescope to see heaven.
"Today is an accumulation of almost seven years of stress and anxiety, hurt and pain," said Wayne Rioux, a Margotta family friend.
During her statement to the court, Rick Dabate's mother, Janice, said if her son was guilty of murdering his wife, he would have admitted it.
"Today was the close of just the first chapter of the litigation in this case we are going to continue to fight with the appeal," said attorney Trent LaLima, Dabate's lawyer.
One of the key pieces of evidence: Connie Dabate's Fitbit. The data extracted from it suggests she was still moving around the house an hour after Rick Dabate said she was killed.
"I think that's gonna be for an appellate court to decide," said LaLima. "That was my argument it's not sufficiently reliable and proven."
For now, though, Connie's family can finally breathe.
"I just feel like a surge from up above," said Cindy Margotta, with a smile. "I just feel the strength coming to me right now."
The prosecution asserted Dabate murdered his wife in part because his world was crashing, as a mistress Dabate had impregnated was due to give birth to their child just two months after the murder.
One of the Dabate's neighbors in Ellington said she thought it was extremely weird that just a few days after the murder, Rick Dabate was texting neighbors asking what their favorite takeout restaurants were.
The case was known as the "Fitbit Case" due to Connie Dabate wearing a Fitbit tracker at the time of her death. The Fitbit, used as evidence against her husband, recorded Connie Dabate moving an hour after her husband said a masked intruder killed her.
Dabate had testified at the trial that in December 2015, days before Christmas, he had come home early because he forgot his laptop. There, he supposedly saw a masked man with a voice like actor Vin Diesel dressed in camouflage. He claimed the man had shot Connie in their basement, tied him up, and stabbed him before Dabate was able to burn the alleged intruder with a torch.
Dabate also confessed to having an affair at the time of Connie's murder and had lied to the police about it.
Twelve jurors heard from more than 100 witnesses, including Dabate, over 22 days and saw 600 pieces of evidence.
“The thorough and thoughtful examination of technology was key to this investigation and was significant in proving that the defendant was guilty of this crime,” Prosecutor Matthew Gedansky said in a statement. “In the end, though, this was another case of domestic violence. And though much progress has been made in recent years to support victims and survivors and to hold abusers accountable, these domestic violence homicides are still happening so we must continue to work together to end domestic violence.”

Charlie Coyle: John Cena is a classic good guy and also is from Mass
Jake DeBrusk: Scott Steiner, I know what your thinking who? Scott Steiner is famous for his math speech where he takes his 75% chance of winning and then adds his 66 2/3 per cents to get to him having a 141 2/3 chance of winning at sacrifice. All I know is that if I had to watch Jake do math it would go along the lines of this speech.
Nick Foligno: Stone Cold Steve Austin=bald and a badass, Nick Foligno= bald and a badass sometimes
Derek Forbort: Goldberg, Goldberg never loses he also makes dumb decisions. I’m now respect the epic highs of Forbort Hockey he never has lows now.
Trent Frederic: Mankind, most famous for doing crazy stunts like getting thrown off the top of the steel cage multiple times. This guy just keeps making bad decisions so he can fight which suits Trent
Brandon Carlo: Kevin Nash otherwise known as big daddy cool diesel, honestly I gave him this guy solely because his nickname.
Matt Grzelcyk: Rob Van Dam, small and agile guys. Also out of all the bruins the one I would pick to randomly appear in a syfy shark film like Van Dam has done would be Matt.
David Krejci: The Undertaker, a person that’s just been around a long time that is consistently good. Also I feel like Krejci would have a random motorbike phase like the undertaker did.
Charlie McAvoy: Randy Orton. He has a nickname that is the legend killer and the amount of veterans of seen McAvoy ass check to oblivion I feel like he earns that title.
David Pastrnak: Ric Flair, always had the most over the top beautiful robes just like pastas suits
Jeremy Swayman: Kurt Angle who is an Olympic gold medalist, famous for winning with a broken neck. The only American I could think of here with any type of Gold medal was Sway. Wait I just done research and he won Bronze, I’ll change my reasoning too that how he is getting treated now is the same as fans chanting ‘you suck’ in time with Kurt Angles entrance music
Pavel Zacha and Jakub Zboril: Edge and Christian. One of the best tag teams to exist, childhood friends like our two boys (not the tag team parts just the friendship part).
Hampus Lindholm: The million dollar man Ted DiBiase…..have you seen Lindholms contract?
Tomas Nosek: Rowdy Roddy Pipper, Nosek is one of the rowdiest players I’ve seen, he lives for the drama
Connor Clifton: Cactus Jack/ Mick Foley. This wrestler is also Mankind (see Freddy) but this is another one of his egos which is hardcore which suits Cliffy hockey.
Mike Reilly: Heath Slater, classic loser just a jobber. Mike was on my template so I had to find someone that suits my boy.
Craig Smith: The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels is my all time favourite, his entrance music is sung by himself and is called sexy boy which suits Craig.
Brad Marchand: Chris Jericho, 2 Canadians that people hate

Carnival Games

It had been more than a struggle dragging the unhappy loner out to the carnival to begin with, and he was fairly certain it was the reminder of Trent's mortal state that was the sole motivation to his eventual, begrudging, acquiescence.
Severen wasn't sure what @glaswen didn't find fun about the rush of chaos. The bright, glaring lights, not his favorite, but still thrilling, with the overwhelming smells of oily treats bedecked in sugar mixed with diesel, and pungent, human excitement.
His mouth watered with expectant pleasure, eyes unable to keep focus on one thing for long, an excited beast ready to play.
Through sheer force he had guided his unlikely companion through getting tickets, past the main gates, driving them deep onto the grounds proper. Barkers called to get their attention, raising their voices over the screams of hyper children.
Severen was reminded of days of yore, being young himself with naught but lint in his pocket, perusing the captured wild animals chained to posts as twisted shapes of humans were displayed for others to gawk at.
Some things had greatly changed in these modern times, some things remained much the same.
One game they passed, caught his particular attention.
It was a "test of skill", thought he was much in doubt of that, meant for those with itchy trigger fingers, so it was declared.
It should have been easy to pass up, he could make out the rigging from here, knowing that even as a deadshot himself, there was likely no way of getting the "grand prize" unless one was meant to; however, it was a temptation that pulled at him.
Trent was oddly encouraging, something notably unexpected, but abating Severen's previous hesitation.
Sidling up to the counter, the immortal slapped a $5 bill down. The carnie began giving him the spiel, the longtime gunslinger busying himself instead with examining the BB gun handed to him.
It seems fairly standard, old, yet functional.
Testing the trigger, he found had some added resistance, taught, suspecting the newest thing on the old carbine was the spring, more than likely an attempt to wear down the shooter.
Raising it up to his shoulder he notices the iron sights have been seen to with a file, altering their shape to distort one's aim. It was probably imperceptible to anyone with normal vision, his however, was far from ordinary.
Sensing the attendant getting to the end of his emphatic speech, Severen scoops up the BBs and readies for his first shot.
He plans to ricochet it off one of the nearby targets to hit the hidden switches behind, the only real trick was making it subtle.
With a planned trajectory mapped out, he inhales deep, exhales slow, and takes all five shots in quick succession.
The metal targets drop down in such a loud barrage that the surrounding bystanders flinch, the carnie included.
It is clear that the booth attendant is perplexed at what has taken place, standing dumbfounded on the other side of the counter unable to do anything else but stare.
"Do I get my prize?" Severen inquires, squaring himself behind the other man, just within arm's reach.
"How in the hell…" the worker sighs in bewilderment, completely distracted by the sight that will be his last.
Severen is polite enough to make it quick.
The game had been fun, and the man didn't taste as good as the surrounding food smelled. Stashing the fresh corpse under the booth-- the tragic irony of dying by a game of deception not entirely lost on Severen-- the monster realizes that his guest has made himself absent.
In other circumstances he would have been offended, angry, but he is having too much fun to stay mad at his buddy; he even sees fit to snag down one of the hanging trinkets to make as a gift.
Licking the blood from his lips, dragging his sleeve across them afterward, Severen slinks back amongst the swarm, guided by the memorized scent of his dejected compatriot.
A chuckle rises up as he sees Trent on the horizon, nearly escaped, with the faintest hint of hope about him.
It is the happiest Severen think he has ever seen the man.
He snatches him up in a strong, one-armed embrace, more of a headlock than a sign of affection, to him they may be one in the same.
Before he can protest, Severen produces his well earned prize from behind his back, squashing the over-sized, foam cowboy hat atop Trent's head.
With a giddy cheer, derived from the environment and from being well fed, the beast turns them back into the heart of the carnival, bee-lining toward the most boisterous, insane looking contraption he can locate, eager for a thrill.
They clamber up the steel steps, Severen not allowing Trent from his side, not wanting the skittish little weasel getting away from him again. He picks a chair for them to sit in, near shoving his "friend" in place, and sitting down himself with another rip-roaring of elation.
"This is gonna be some fun", he wraps his hands tight around the wheel in anticipation.
His eyes sparkle with a demented delight, this is not going to be an easy ride, he wants all ten tickets worth; and then some if he can get it. If he had an ounce of empathy he might have felt an inkling of guilt for what he was about to put this man through, as he did not, there was nothing but a unrestrained, twisted laughter bubbling up as he tested the rotation of their car.
