What’re we eating, kids?

Ah yes, the end of August. It’s back to school for all kids and teens this week, the faintest crispness of autumn is in the morning air, it gets darker early--oh Fall how I love thee.

I did a bit of shopping today, but only because the clinic where I get my Botox is part of this strip mall thing with a little discount warehouse, and in the window I saw signs for Filippa K and Acne Studios and Marni for 90% off and I thought surely...surely this cannot be. Surely these posters are a farce, just to lure people like me inside and find nothing but discounted, defective Old Navy jeans or something. But this warehouse is only open select hours and I was never able to check it out.

I went today and oh my god. Oh my god.

IT’S LEGIT

They have Rodebjer. They have Marni. They have Totême. They have Comme des Garçons. They have brands I can only find in Sweden or Denmark. They have Jil Sander. They have Filippa K--RACKS AND RACKS OF IT. And all of it is 70-90% off.

And it’s not defective--no tears, the stitching is perfect, the sizing is right. It’s not fakes either--not even well-made fakes. I’m pretty sure it’s all off the back of a truck but the guy has been in business for DECADES so who knows.

I’ve been looking for the perfect black boyfriend blazer and I picked up a Filippa K one which retails for $850--for $45. FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS. I picked up a Rodebjer dress, and a mustard yellow blazer.

I tried on the most beautiful Marni dress but it was $2,240 and even 90% off that was a no for me, but holy shit. I couldn’t believe the brands they had, I’ve never seen this stuff outside of Europe and I was SO STOKED.

But right, that’s not the point of this post. I think I’m just having leftover tonight--I’ve cooked every day this week and I’m so tired of washing dishes, but also, my stomach has been a bit funny since Friday so I’m just going to take it easy. Currently sipping some ice cold grappa to kill whatever bug I may have.
