“What the hell is that?” Dean asked as Inias’ eyes went wide in shock and Castiel took a step back against the table.
“He couldn’t have, he wouldn’t dare…”
“He did and it should be here soon,” Zachariel clarified.
“What is he talking about?” Sam asked impatiently.
“When Lucifer was banished,” Dina began. “There were rumors between the angels of Lucifer mating with Lilith, the very first demon that he created. Ideas began to spread that Lucifer may possibly procreate, creating a much more powerful being. But it turned out that he never did, by what our father revealed to everyone. Our father made it clear Lucifer could never procreate even if he wanted to.”
“But that still didn’t silence the angels, eventually coming up with the name Antichrist of this possible being that could be as powerful as Lucifer himself, maybe more,” Castiel added. “But our father made it clear, just like Dina said!”
“It’s not Lucifer’s. Why do you think he sent his demons out to capture virgins two years ago? They weren’t taken for their souls.”
Sam and Dean shared a look as the cupid continued.
“The Antichrist is a child, born from a virgin possessed by a demon. Half-human, half-demon. Lucifer is positive this child will be powerful, especially with the proof of the trouble it’s causing in the mother’s womb alone.”
“What do you mean?” Sam asked intently.
“So far, Lilith has been ‘testing’ the child’s abilities. Every time a demon attacks the womb or mother, it backfires somehow. Either a demon suddenly bursts into flames or bounces right off an invisible shield. The only one that can get close is Lilith and that’s only because Lilith hasn’t tried to harm it herself, risking other demons in the process.”
“They are using a child as a weapon?”Dean asked in anger. “How can they be so cruel to do such a thing!”
“This is Lucifer we are talking about,” Castiel interjected. “When my brother is desperate, he will take desperate measures.”
“Well, do you know where the mother and child are being kept?” Inias asked Zachariel.
“I do, but it isn’t close. From Lucifer’s castle alone it’s a week's ride, probably two to three from here.”
“How soon is the baby to come?” Castiel pushed.
“Before I ran, Lord Crowley had informed Lucifer that the baby was almost ready, about a few weeks left until it was time for the mother to give birth. That was two weeks ago.”
“Still, even if we get there after the child is born, they won’t be able to travel with a newborn,” Sam pondered out loud.
“This is no ordinary child, Sam,” Castiel said to him. “We don’t know what to expect with the birth of this monster.”
“Do not call it a monster, brother,” Dina interrupted, her eyes bright in anger. “The child is innocent, still not yet molded into what they want.”
“We aren’t even sure if they need to mold it, sister.”
“They will have to because a child cannot be molded in the womb.”
“Then what can we do?” Dean asked, raising his hands above his head. “We can kill it but in the end, it is a child. And leaving it alive can bring disaster to the world.”
“We take it,” Sam voiced. “We go and take it from them. If the mother is alive and not possessed then we bring her as well. We help her hide from Lucifer and his demons and let her raise the child on her own until we can find a way to seal whatever abilities it has. The village witch Rowena can help with that part.”
“Are you sure you want to risk this? I mean, yes it is a child, but it’s the spawn of a demon.”
“Dean, it is a child nonetheless. We at least have to hope it can grow to become a good person.”
Dean looked between his brother and Dina, seeing how Dina nodded her head slowly in agreement. Dean placed his hands on his hips and sighed, knowing that the idea could work.
“We take the child and the mother BUT they stay with Rowena. She might be our best option to keep them protected until this war ends and we can give them a stable home.”
“Then the child lives,” Castiel clarified. “We need to move out before sunrise tomorrow to make the ride as quick as possible. Zachariel, as you well enough to ride with us to show us where?”
“Yes, but I don’t know where exactly the mother and child will be in the place they have them.”
“We can search the area once we are there. Inias and four other angels will join us. How many soldiers can you spare, Dean?”
“I can get maybe 30 to 40 men for help in the defense. But let’s only bring Inias and one other angel. We aren’t sure if Abaddon will be there and can’t risk losing more angels.”
“I will go with you both as well,” Sam declared, receiving an angry stare from his brother. “At least let me ride with you there to stand guard with a few of my men while the rest of your invade.”
Sam felt Dina’s grip on his arm tightened at his request. Dean pondered for a moment before nodding.
“But you will stay back and if things go south, you and your men ride back here.”
“Agreed.”
“Good, we can’t have the future king dying so soon.”
Dina stood with Sam, holding his hand as the men planned and mapped out their invasion to save mother and child. Dean called for one of his men to call upon Rowena, the village witch, to speak to her. Once the arrangements were done, they all went their separate ways. Dean to speak to Rowena, Castiel and Inias with Zachariel to get the men together, and Sam with Dina up to his room.
Once they entered his room, Sam realized how dark it was outside, the stars starting to shine brightly. He started the fire to warm up the room and prepare everything for his ride out in the morning. Dina sat in the middle of his bed, knees up to her chest as she watched him move about the room.
“Do not worry, I promise I will come back. But I want you to stay here in my room until then, only going out if necessary.”
“Even if Dumah wants me?”
“Dumah can go mind her own while I am gone. I will ask Ellen and Bobby to keep an eye on you, keep you away from Dumah while I’m gone. If you aren’t with them, you stay in this room, no one else allowed unless you let them.”
Dina giggled softly, her eyes lowering once her smile faded away. Sam noticed how worried she looked, moving towards her to sit at the edge of the bed. He took her hand in his, placing his other hand under her chin and lifted her face to look at him.
“I promise, it is not my time to die.”
“I am still scared. What if you do die and I...we…” she began to stutter, tears beginning to well up. “I’m honestly afraid to lose you.”
“You won’t. I will be back before you know it and Lucifer will have one less weapon in his arsenal.”
“What if Abaddon is there? Or Cain?”
“You heard what Zachariel said. The place is barely guarded, Lilith and her little minions being the only ones there. Lucifer didn’t think we would come upon this knowledge so he isn’t expecting us to arrive there.”
Sam got up from the bed, letting go of Dina’s hand as he went back to packing what he needed. They stayed silent for a moment longer as he finished. As he prepared his clothes for the morning, Dina spoke softly.
“I want to consummate our marriage.”
Sam turned quickly, wondering if he heard her right.
“I thought we agreed…”
“I know what we agreed to, but what if you don’t return? What if all goes badly?” she asked, looking at him with sadness, even though she had a smile on her face. “If you die, my father will either call me back to Heaven or hand me off to your father to do what you didn’t do.”
“Neither will happen, I won’t allow it to happen,” Sam huffed angrily. “My father will never put his hands on you, let alone remove you from my home. I will make sure Dean protects you.”
“Both our fathers made it clear. Just because we are married doesn’t mean I am fully yours. Isn’t it a rule between humans that a woman solely belongs to her husband once he claims her body?”
“We don’t have to live by that rule,” Sam argued back. “Dean will make sure nothing bad happens to you and if he must, I will make him promise to marry you to protect you.”
“You know our fathers will fight that.”
Dina moved to the edge of the bed, kneeling as she grabbed Sam’s hands.
“Look, I never expected my first time being from insecurity or fear. I wanted to spend more time with you, for us to grow a much more solid relationship. Maybe talk about all this once the war is over and our fathers weren’t so insistent.”
Dina shuffled closer, giving Sam a gentle smile.
“I know we talked about never having a child, and I still stand by my idea. But that doesn’t mean I will get pregnant on the first try. All we need to do is secure our marriage. I do pray you will return safe and sound, but that slight chance still resonates inside me. And I don’t want to take a risk.”
Sam looked down at their intertwined hands, noticing how soft her hands felt against his rough ones.
“If you want, we can write a letter to Dean, explaining what must be done with me if you should not return. All I ask is for the security of knowing your father cannot touch me, nor can mine take me home.”
Sam thought about it, knowing she was right. But he still couldn’t go with it fully, not when Jessica came to mind. Dina probably realized what his thought process was because she let his hands go and began to turn away.
“Forgive me, Sam, I’m asking too much from you in such little time. Let us just write the letter to Dean and hope that you do return safely.”
Sam’s mind went into overdrive at that moment. Yes, he still loved Jessica and yes, he didn’t want to disrespect the memory of the woman he loved. But he couldn’t deny either that for the past six months, Dina had crept into his mind, more recently as more. Especially during the time she mourned Ishim. Having her in his arms, it felt so right. He had to mentally kick himself at times for picturing what it would be like, waking up with her next to him, their bodies wrapped together. Didn’t help with the quick show he had gotten months ago.
No, even when he used Jessica as an excuse, he couldn’t help how his heart would skip a beat whenever he saw her eyes glow so brightly, that hue of purple becoming much more prominent whenever she was happy when she smiled at him. He couldn’t resist the way she trusted him, always leaning to his for comfort. He couldn’t help but admire her body and dedication when she would practice with Dean. He couldn’t ignore how marvelous she seemed whenever he watched her read or share ideas whenever he, Dean and Castiel were stumped in their plans. No, he had told himself repeatedly to see her only as a friend, but he couldn’t.
She wasn’t Jessica, but he was thankful for that. Because she was another woman entirely. Literally, an angel sent to him, to help him heal from the pain of losing the love of his life. And now, his heart as it healed, welcomed Dina. She took the broken pieces and slowly and surely started to put it all back together. And as she did, she injected herself into those pieces. He lost one wife he loved dearly, he wasn’t about to lose the second he began to love.
Sam grabbed her arm and turned her to face him, receiving a gasp of surprise. He pulled her towards him, her body pressed against his. He placed his free hand against her cheek, caressing it gently.
“I won’t allow anyone to take you from me, and if my time to die does come with this raid, at least I will be engraved into you, body and soul after tonight.”
Sam wrapped an arm around her waist as he pulled her in for their second kiss. But this one wasn’t so quick like the one they shared at their wedding. No, Sam gave his all in this one kiss. He could feel how stiff she was, probably from the shock. But soon her body went pliant against him, her hands grabbing onto his shoulders as she gave in. Her lips felt so soft against his, so lush. His tongue teased the slit of her lips, begging for entrance, which she gave so willingly. His tongue slipped into her mouth, exploring it, wrapping his tongue around hers. He felt her moan vibrate the inside of her mouth as he wrapped his other arm around her back, pulling her as close as humanly possible.
He broke their kiss, needing to breathe. He looked at her, smiling at her flushed face, her hooded eyes barely hiding how their purple glowed. He caressed her back gently, toying with the ends of her hair. They were both breathing heavily when he spoke.
“Will you give yourself willingly to me?”
“Yes,” she replied wispily.
Sam pulled her back into him, taking her mouth into a much more passionate kiss. He groaned against her as her arms wrapped around his neck as he pulled her off the bed to stand in front of him. He quickly broke the kiss to strip away his clothes, watching her as he finally stood in front of her in just his pants, everything else and shoes were thrown across the room. He felt breathless as her eyes grazed over his bare chest, her hands reaching out to touch him. A shiver went down his spine as the tips of her fingers finally touched his heated skin, his chest rising and falling as she touched him curiously. When her fingers reached his mark above his heart, he grabbed her wrist without hurting her.
“I can imagine you have seen angels in better form,” he said, leaning closer to her, placing soft kisses along her jawline.
“They don’t compare to your beauty,” she huffed, her head turned to the side to expose her neck as Sam continued his pathway to the crook of her neck.”
Sam smiled as he walked around her, his heart swelling with pride at her words. She found him beautiful. Once he stood behind her, he began to remove the ties that held her dress together, receiving a gasp from her. Once the dress was loose from its restraints, he began to peel it off her, starting from her sleeves. It pooled at her feet, leaving her in her white undergarment gown that fell off her shoulders, exposing her creamy skin. He leaned forward and kissed her shoulder, softly gliding his lips across her skin. He pushed her hair over her shoulder, exposing the flesh of her neck which he caressed with his lips. He felt the small shiver that went through her body when he placed his hands on her hips, pulling her closer to him.
“How do you feel?” he asked softly once his lips reached her other shoulder.
“I…. I don’t know. My legs suddenly feel weak and my stomach is growing tighter with each...touch!” she gasped on the last word as Sam’s hands lifted the hem of her undergarment, his fingers grazing over her flesh.
“That’s good, means you are enjoying it,” he chuckled as he raised the garment over her head, finally leaving her bare.
He had barely gotten to see her naked body all those months ago, but little things stuck to his mind. And now, here he was, finally able to see what was missing from his memory. He slid his hands up and down her back, barely touching the skin with the tips of his fingers. He enjoyed seeing her shiver under his touch, knowing he was the only man to cause such a reaction.
“Dumah… said that… a wife should only… lay down and allow her husband to.... Take what he desires,” Dina spoke up, her words stuttering as his hands gripped her waist, turning her around to face him.
“Ignore anything Dumah told you and trust me. I will show you exactly how a wife should be when it comes to pleasuring her husband.”
Sam pressed her into another kiss, this time with more force and pressure. He tugged at her bottom lip, sucking it between his teeth before letting go with a pop. He guided her towards the bed, turning her so his back was to it. He sat down, never breaking their kiss as Dina became a bit more confident and daring with her tongue. He pulled her to stand between his legs, reaching with one hand to open his trousers, giving himself some room from how hard he was becoming. His lips danced away from hers, causing her to whimper as he kissed a trail down her cheek to her neck, and down to her collarbone. He licked and teased her, moving from one side to the other of her front. He could barely contain his hands that grasped and touched her thighs and up to her waist, finally reaching her buttock and gripping it in his hands. She gasped into his mouth, her nails digging into his shoulders as she held onto him.
Sam backed away as he finally took his fill of the view before him. She stood there without any shyness and comfort. Her hair surrounded her face and barely covered her chest, his awe of her naked beauty obvious upon his face. He slowly guided his hands up from her buttocks and to her sides to reach their end goal. He palmed her breasts, appreciating how they filled his hands. He felt how her nipples hardened against his skin, causing him to smile up at her.
“You are aroused. Are you really enjoying this?”
“Yes,” she groaned, her eyes hooded from her lashes as she looked down at him.
Without warning, Sam leaned forward and grazed his teeth along the top of her left breast, causing her to yelp out. She covered her mouth quickly, eyes wide in shock and Sam chuckled huskily, letting go of her breasts to pull her hands down.
“This is our hall, no one else will hear you if you scream. And I want to hear you scream, I want to hear your cries of pleasure as I give it to you.”
Sam went back to her left breast, his focus on her nipple. He wrapped his mouth around it, his tongue flicking at the hardened nub. Dina’s hands immediately thrust into his hair, gripping the roots as he lapped her nipple, suckling it and tugging at it with his teeth. He moaned against her heated skin as a hand reached for her other breast, squeezing and kneading it before his fingers twisted and tugged her nipple. He quickly switched from the left to the right, his mouth treating her breast kindly as his hand reached for the left breast to continue toying with it.
Sam wanted to continue his teasing, but he could already smell her wet folds from where he sat, tempting him for a taste. He reached between her legs with a free hand, placing the other on her lower back. His hand separated her thighs slightly, allowing him access to her core. One finger slid across her already soaked slit, causing her body to buckle against him. He chuckled as he lifted the wet finger to his mouth, sucking it clean as he enjoyed her tangy taste.
“Sam, that is immoral,” Dina huffed as his finger returned to tease her slit.
“No, it is delicious,” he responded back huskily. “You are delicious and I will take my fill of you.”
Dina yelped out when Sam grabbed her by the waist and flipped her onto the bed, laying in the middle. Sam pulled her legs apart and laid between them, his face inches away from her core. Dina immediately covered herself with her hands, her body flushed. But he only pulled her hands away, holding them at her side as he moved closer, the tip of his nose sliding against her opening. Dina gasped in pleasure as he slid the tip of his tongue along her slit, her taste sweet yet tangy. He released one of her hands, using his fingers to pry her open so he could taste even more of her. He took in a deep breath of her smell, his eyes rolling back before he delved into her. Dina yelled out when his tongue circled the taut nub before sliding down to her entrance.
“Sam,” she hissed as he let go of her other hand, both reaching out to tug at his hair.
“So delicious,” Sam growled against her, slurping her up.
He thrust his tongue against her, circling her nub for a moment before sliding his tongue down to her entrance, lapping it in and out. He felt her grip tighten into his hair, ignoring the slight pain, it was nothing compared to the pleasure he felt rolling inside him as he watched her body rise by his mouth. He watched as her body arched in pleasure, not stopping until finally, she shrieked out in pleasure, her entire body shaking as she finally toppled over her breaking point. Her hands pushed at his head, trying to move him away as he lapped up her flowing juices.
Sam got up onto his knees as he watched his masterpiece lay before him. Her legs spread out, her body flushed as her chest heaved up and down from the high she rode out. One arm was over her eyes and the other held her stomach.
“What was that?” she asked with a groan.
“That is what we call an orgasm,” Sam grunted as he climbed off the bed, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
He quickly removed his pants, finally naked as she was, and climbed back onto the bed, lying next to her. He caressed her body, sliding his fingers gently across her skin as she caught her breath.
“So this is what Dean was talking about, pleasuring a woman before taking his fill.”
“And we aren’t even done.”
Dina removed her hand from her eyes as Sam climbed over her, his body pressed against hers. His hard length laid between them against her stomach, causing her to gasp at its size. Sam was proud to say he was well endowed and very well practiced with his own being. He moved a hand to reach between them, sliding his fingers to make sure she was soaked and ready.
“I promise I won’t hurt you. We will take it slow since it’s your first time,” he whispered against her ear.
She slowly nodded her head, her arms wrapping around his neck to hold on. He grabbed his length and slowly guided it to her entrance, sliding the tip against her to soak himself with her juices. He lined himself up to her entrance and began to slowly sink in, grunting as he kept his control. Inch by delicious inch, he entered her. Her heat slowly surrounded him, he watched as she winced at being stretched. He took his time until finally he was buried to the hilt inside her. He fought the urge to move, letting her body get used to his invasion. He could hear her whimpers as he kissed her cheeks, her forehead, down to her lips.
“Are you ok?” he asked softly, caressing her side with a free hand.
“Mhm,” she hummed back with a quick shake of her head.
“OK, I am going to start moving but let me know if anything hurts.”
He then slowly started to move out of her, groaning as his skin felt the cold air in the room. Dina gasped out as he moved, her nails digging into the flesh of his back, her eyes wide open. Sam took that chance and kissed her deeply, thrashing his tongue inside her mouth to take her soft moans. He moved back inside her with a slow pace, taking his time with her. But being enveloped in her heat, and it being so long since he last had been with a woman, his self-control was waning.
But Dina took him by surprise when she wrapped her legs around his waist and leaned up, kissing him with groans vibrating through them.
“Want… more,” she huffed at him, her lips gracing across his jawline. “Feels...so...good…”
“Going to make you feel so good,” Sam growled back, thrusting faster.
Dina threw her head back in pleasure, yelling out his name as his thrusts became rougher. Her arms and legs holding onto him for dear life, he lifted her from the bed and sat upon his knees, making her bounce on him as he watched her ride him. She repeated his name at each thrust, her insides growing tighter around his length. He moved faster and faster inside her, watching her as she came all over him. She screamed out his name when he felt her reach her high yet again. He grabbed the back of her head and pulled her into a passionate kiss, swallowing her groans of pleasure. He didn’t stop his pace, breaking their kiss to lay her back on the bed. He thrust faster into her, chasing his high as she came down from hers. Didn’t take him long either, screaming out her name when he finally burst inside her, filling her up with his seed.
Sam took a moment before pulling his softening member from inside her, falling to lay next to her. As they both caught their breath, Dina moved to cuddle against his side, Sam wrapping an arm around her to hold her close. He looked down to see that she fell asleep against him, causing him to smile. He moved away to climb off the bed, grabbing the warm fleece that was by the fire. He threw it over her body, making sure she was covered and joined her back into bed. He pulled her against him, her head on his chest and wrapped an arm around her. He toyed with the ends of her hair as he watched her sleep soundly with a smile.
“I thought angels don’t sleep,” he whispered, breathing in the scent of her hair.
“I’m not, but I am a bit worn out and you need to sleep,” she replied with a giggle. “Thank you, Sam. For tonight.”
Sam smiled at her before falling into a deep sleep, his dreams showing him what life could be like if they ever did have children of their own.

The sun was finally reaching the highest point when Sam, Dean, Cas and the rest of the men stopped to take a break. They had left way before sunrise and were making good on their time. Zachariel and Inias rode ahead of them to seek out a village where they could stay the night. Sam and Dean were sitting under a tree, watching as the men relaxed for a bit. Sam noticed how Dean kept looking at him curiously, the hint of wanting to ask something written all over his face.
“What do you want?” Sam asked in annoyance.
“You and Dina were a bit more affectionate this morning than ever,” Dean pointed out slowly. “And you even gave her the chain with mother’s ring, something you never take off, nor gave to Jessica.”
“Dean, we don’t know what will happen on this mission. She was afraid so I gave her the one thing she knew means so much to me as a promise that I will be back.”
Dean sat quietly, thinking back on that moment before they left. He always saw Sam being affectionate with Dina, holding hands or keeping her at his side. But there was always a bit of distance between them. That morning, however, Sam had walked outside with his arm wrapped around Dina’s waist, holding her as humanly close as possible. He never let her go as they all conversed about how their plans were set. Even when the two moved away, Sam took the necklace with their mother’s wedding ring from his neck and with such care, wrapped it around Dina’s neck, kissing her with such passion. Sam wouldn’t move from Dina’s side until Ellen came out, promising him she would make sure Dina was safe the entire time.
“You finally took her as yours,” Dean muttered as a smile grew. “You finally took her to your bed and made her a woman!”
Sam slapped Dean’s arm as Castiel joined them, trying to quiet his brother down before the angel heard him. But Cas saw the smile on Dean’s face.
“What has you smiling Dean?” Castiel asked.
“I don’t think you would want to know,” Dean chuckled, receiving a death glare from Sam.
“Do you mean about my sister finally becoming a woman?”
Sam choked on his water as Dean burst out in laughter, rolling onto the grass. Castiel looked at the two brothers in confusion as if he said something wrong.
“My sister told me before we left while you both were with your father.”
“She did what?!” Sam exclaimed.
“My sister and I share no secrets, Sam. I must admit, I am glad you finally took the step to bed my sister. If you would have left her a virgin, our fathers probably would have found a way to use this trip against us and have Dina taken from you.”
“So, you aren’t angry?” Dean asked in wonder.
“No, because I know that it was for the best. And if this marriage would continue after the war, you two would have done it anyway. I am just glad you respected my sister and waited until she was ready.”
Sam stared at Castiel in shock from how cool his reaction was to his sister’s deflowering. Dean couldn’t stop his deep laughter, slapping his baby brother on the back.
“Now, baby brother, tell us how much you made your wife scream out your name!”
“DEAN! STOP!”
“I do agree with your brother,” Castiel added. “I don’t wish to hear exactly what happened in their marriage bed.”
Dean gladly left the topic alone, their talk switching over to their plans if Inias and Zachariel didn’t make it back in time with shelter. Which luckily, they did. The village they found was already destroyed by the horde of demons that rolled by, but a kind farmer offered them a place to stay on his lands that were only a few miles from the village. They all arrived before sundown, taking shelter near the barn. The farmer and his wife gladly cooked a simple meal for all 40 men, the angels standing on watch as the human soldiers rested and ate.
“We can rest here and once the sun rises, we continue our march,” Dean commanded the men that were laying down to sleep. “I will be picking a few to take shifts to watch out for any possible enemy coming for us. We must assume that the Demon King somehow has gotten news of both princes of these lands and his brother are out with men. So be on high alert.”
Dean picked out ten men, five to start the watch and five more to switch until morning. As the first five went out to stand on watch, the four angels entered the barn, joining the two brothers.
“Inias and Zachariel report that before they found the farmer, they rode out ahead to find two more villages destroyed,” Castiel stated.
“And we even saw a horde heading north with a mob of humans. I wanted to help them but Zachariel…”
“I said it wasn’t a smart move because where that horde goes, Abaddon is right behind them!”
“If Zachariel is right,” Dean interrupted. “Then it’s best we stay back.”
“But those humans don’t have to die when we could..” Inias began to exclaim but was stopped by Castiel.
“Dean is right. You could have died if Abaddon was there and we can’t lose any more angels. Especially my second.”
Inias nodded his head in agreement, even though his face revealed that he wasn’t happy with their responses. As Castiel shared the rest of the information Inias and Zachariel related to him, Sam sat back and thought about that morning with Dina.
------
“Are you sure you want to give me this?”
Dina watched as Sam removed his necklace, the one he never took off since his mother’s wedding ring hung from it. He showed her the ring the day he told her about his mother, sharing how much the ring meant to him.
“I want you to take great care of it for me, hold it until I get back.”
“But Sam, this belongs to your mother…” Dina insisted, pushing back his hands that held the necklace. “It must stay with you or Dean.”
“Please, take it. I would rather know that it stays behind these walls in your hands,” Sam pushed as he wrapped the necklace around her neck, clasping it so it hung between her breasts. “Also, see this as a promise of my return to you. Never take it off, and always look to it as a reminder of our trust. I trust you to take care what is most precious to me as I will for you,” he finished as he looked on to Castiel, Zachariel and Inias, remembering her worries from earlier of everyone’s safety.
Sam looked back to see Dina’s eyes glowing, a beautiful smile stretched across her face as she held the ring between her hands.
“I will protect it with my life,” she whispered to him.
“Just promise me I will find you and my ring here safe,” he whispered back, cupping her cheeks. “And promise me that you will stay by Ellen’s side if you ever step out of our room.”
“Our….room?” she asked hesitantly.
“Yes, my room is your room, our room,” Sam responded with a smile. He kissed her forehead before kissing her lips gently. “Promise me you will never leave Ellen’s side.”
“I promise.”
-------
It was nightfall when everyone went to sleep, five guards and Inias posted out for watch. Sam had fallen into a deep sleep when he was suddenly woken up with a jolt. He was about to complain when he felt a hand cover his mouth. Finally fully awake, he saw Dean right above him, looking over his shoulder. Suddenly, a scream of pain caused a shiver to go up against Sam’s spine, urging him to sit up, but Dean wasn’t letting him move.
“We are trapped,” Dean whispered, never looking down at Sam. “Castiel and Zachariel are keeping the barn doors shut, but Inias and a few more of our men are outside fighting off the enemy.”
Sam grabbed Dean’s hand and forced him to uncover his mouth.
“What happened? Demons? I thought the farmers were checked?”
“They were, but Inias said they are working with demons. He caught them opening the barn doors while we slept and when he went to stop them, they pulled out an angel blade on him, telling him they were on Lucifer’s side because he promised to never harm them as long as they sent humans his way and to kill any angel they met.”
Sam’s eyes grew wide in shock, but Dean continued.
“Zachariel had gotten up and thankfully saved Inias by killing the pair but we were already surrounded by demons. Inias told Zachariel to come in and wake Castiel up to seal the barn doors and to send some men out there. So far no one has gotten in and lucky us Zachariel thought about bringing bags of salt with us so he already sealed every entrance.”
“We need to go out there and help them!” Sam exclaimed.
“We can’t sacrifice any more men!” Dean hissed back. “We aren’t even close to our destination and we need as many men as possible because we don’t know what to expect once we get there.”
“But Inias and the others!”
“Castiel agreed we stay put! Sam, I don’t want those men to die and Castiel is worried about Inias but we can’t lose just yet. We need to reach that child before Lucifer gets his hands on it!”
Sam held his tongue, knowing his brother was right. As Dean moved away to let him sit up, Castiel ran over to them, kneeling next to Dean.
“Inias just sent me a message, he and the few men left are guiding the demons away from the barn. We have a small window to escape.”
“How did he…” Dean began to ask.
“We communicate mentally, like you and your prayers.”
“What about Inias and the men?” Sam insisted.
“Inias already said if any of them survive, he will heal them and take them back to the castle. If any demons escape we want them to follow Inias, not us.”
“What if none of them survive,” Sam continued.
“Then all we can hope is that their sacrifice was worth it,” Castiel muttered, looking down.
“Then we don’t have any more time to spare,” Dean commanded. “We need to go now.”
Sam quickly got up with Castiel and Dean, rushing to guide the remaining men out the barn once Zachariel gave the all-clear. Sam, Dean, Castiel, and Zachariel climbed onto their horses, ready to ride off. Since some soldiers had joined them on foot, they all grabbed the horses in the barn, each horse carrying two soldiers so no one would have to run. They all rode off into the night, not stopping.

Their supposed two weeks ride out to the location of the Antichrist took a month. The day following their surprise attack, they only took one break to feed and water the horses, everyone silent and sad at not knowing what happened to those that stayed behind. After that, they kept off the main roads and only sought secluded shelter. They never traveled at night and took a slow pace during the day, careful to not bump into any demons. At one point, they had to hide in an abandoned village for three days because demons were searching for them. They were low on food and energy when they finally reached their destination. Zachariel had ridden up ahead to scout the area out while they waited up top on a hill.
“The outside isn’t guarded but I can’t promise that the inside is the same,” Zachariel reported once he was back. “What’s strange is that I saw Lord Crowley’s carriage outside yet none of his men. He probably is here for the child, but I watched for hours and he hasn’t left the castle.”
“Then we need to move in now,” Dean stated. “We might be down 15 men and one angel, but we can still do this.”
“What if we do this at nightfall?” Castiel asked. “We can’t risk any more lives and at least with the darkness we can sneak into the castle quietly.”
“That would benefit us, but what if they leave before nightfall?” Sam asked.
“We can hide where I was watching from. It is high grass and close enough to stop the carriage if Lord Crowley comes out with the child. And there is a pond before the tall grass, use the mud there to cover ourselves to hide.”
“That can work,” Dean muttered as he stood there thinking. “Sam will stay behind with a dozen men and we will take the rest…”
“I’m not staying behind,” Sam clarified.
“Sam, you can’t go with us. You are our future king,” Dean insisted, his voice rising. “Don’t force me to tie you up to keep you here.”
“I want to agree with you Dean, but for the sake of my sister’s safety, I have to disagree,” Castiel pushed, standing in front of Sam. “Dina made me swear to stay at Sam’s side through all this and I can’t be at two places at once. And what if Sam gets captured while we are raiding the castle?”
Dean groaned in annoyance, throwing his arms over his head.
“We need those men you want to leave with Sam,” Castiel continued. “We don’t know how many demons are in there and what to expect inside because Zachariel only knows what he saw.”
“Prince Castiel is right,” Zachariel added. “Prince Sam would be safer with us, we can make sure of that. If things get too dangerous, I personally will get Prince Sam out and protect him with my life, for Dina’s sake. All I know are of the guards at the door where the child and mother sleep and the few posted guards along the hall.”
Dean stood there with his back to them, all three waiting for his response.
“Fine, but if things go downhill, you both get Sam out and back home and don’t you dare argue with me, Sam! Your life is much more valuable than mine and if you even try to argue back I will take back everything I agreed to and keep you here.”
Sam immediately shut his mouth, knowing that his brother would keep his promise. Dean continued with the plan of attack with them, having Castiel and Zachariel go inform the rest of the men. Zachariel and the other angel with them were to go watch until the rest could join and wait until nightfall to attack the castle.
Dean didn’t say a word to Sam as they prepared for the possible battle that awaited them.
“Dean, I just want to say…” Sam began.
“Don’t thank me, just promise me you will live through this and once father is no longer in the picture, have a niece or nephew and name one of them after me.”
“Dean, don’t talk as if you are going to die here!”
“I always go with the thought of death for every battle I go to. It is part of being a soldier, something I hope you will never go through again after tonight.”
“Dean,” Sam mumbled.
“Promise me you will make a life with Dina, be happy with her and make her happy. You both deserve it after all this. Promise you won’t let father scare you into anything and that once you become king, you will unite our world with Heaven for good. By what Castiel and Dina say, Michael isn’t the best but he may want peace as much as we do.”
“And what about Hell?”
“That place will be sealed and portal destroyed so that no more demons will come and torment us.”
Sam nodded his head in agreement. He wanted to tell his brother that he won’t die and that they will both return home together, but he knew better than to argue with Dean. Sam was suddenly taken back when Dean walked over to him and pulled him into a hug. Dean was never the affectionate type, always leaving to war with just a handshake and a smirk. Yet here he was, hugging him and sniffling. Their hug only lasted a few seconds, but it meant a lot to Sam. His brother wasn’t just his brother, but also his father and best friend, and nothing would ever break that bond between them, not even death.
Once they were ready, they joined the men and Castiel and marched over to where Zachariel and his accompany angel was, bathing themselves in mud before hiding in the tall grass. They laid there in silence until nightfall, the carriage never leaving nor anyone even stepping outside. Dean whispered to Castiel how strange it was that there was no movement inside and out. It was until after sundown that a light came on in the castle, all the way at the top of the tower.
“That’s probably the room they have the mother and child in now,” Zachariel whispered. “The last time I came with Lord Crowley, he made it clear they always moved them each day so it wouldn’t be so easy to find them inside.”
“Then we are blessed that they moved them so close to the entrance,” Castiel whispered back. “Shall we move in?”
“Yes, its time,” Dean whispered back. “Remember, you two are to protect Sam at all costs.”
Zachariel and Castiel nodded in agreement, moving to stand beside Sam. After a few seconds, Dean commanded the men to move in slowly and quietly. Sam felt the drops of sweat from nerves as they moved in closer to the castle. He was trained well with a sword, Dean making sure of that. But it was one thing to spar with Dean, another to actually be in a battle. They finally reached the entrance and with a yell from Dean, the men barged through the door. Once inside, they were surprised to find the main hall empty and dark. Dean sent a group of men to search the castle as the rest made their way up to the tower. Dean walked in front with a few men, Castiel following with Sam right behind him and Zachariel taking the end to protect Sam from behind.
As they climbed the stairs, they began to notice a flow of blood coming from above the stairs, only to find the bodies of guards slumped on the ground, bleeding. Dean looked behind him, giving them a look of ‘be careful’ before moving forward. Once they reached the door at the top, they saw the last two guards thrown against each wall, their skulls bashed in and blood flowing from them.
“Whatever happened to these men, keep in mind it still might be behind this door. So be careful and don’t risk your life unless necessary,” Dean told the men behind him. “Castiel, stay out here with Sam and Zachariel, we will handle what’s in there.”
Castiel nodded his head and stood closer to Sam, Zachariel doing the same. Dean kicked down the door and ran with the men, swords ready to attack. Sam watched from where he stood that the men stopped short by the door, no other noise coming from the room. Sam grew worried and pushed through Castiel, wondering if something happened. Before Sam could walk through the door, Castiel grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back, glaring at him.
“Let the future king walk through Prince Castiel, I need to speak to him,” a male voice came through.
Castiel shook his head at Sam, holding onto his arm tighter.
“I promise no harm will come to the lad, I do need him alive for my offer.”
Sam grunted at Castiel when Dean spoke up.
“Let him through, Castiel. Best you both come in really.”
Sam pushed through once Castiel let him go, sword still in hand. It was the image in front of him that took him by surprise. Dean stood there with a sleeping baby in his arms as a blonde, curly-haired woman stood next to him, a wicked smile upon her lips. And next to her in a large chair, sat a man. The man seems smaller than by what Sam had assumed by the voice he heard. He sat with his legs crossed, his head leaning against his hand. He sat there with a small smile, but it was a wicked smile, his eyes blinking red before turning back to normal.
“Took you boys long enough to come inside. Almost thought I would have to go out there and hand over the child myself.”
“What are you talking about?” Sam asked as he watched his brother look down at the child in his arms. “What have you done to my brother?!”
“The child your brother holds is the Antichrist, the weapon Lucifer has been expecting. And don’t worry about your brother. I only have him and your men in a daze just so that there will be no bloodshed.”
Sam glared at the demon in anger as Castiel pushed to stand in front of him, shielding him.
“And why did you say you would hand over the child?” Castiel demanded.
“Because, I don’t want Lucifer to win,” the man replied.
“Lord Crowley,” Zachariel whispered as he stood next to Sam.
“Well, well, glad you survived Abaddon’s wrath and made it to the castle.”
“I thought you were sending me as a trap so I went to Heaven instead,” Zachariel replied with a growl. “You told me Abaddon wouldn’t come after me!”
“Well I can’t control what Lucifer does, but be happy I was able to help you escape and do what you were meant to do.”
“What do you mean? Zachariel is working with you!” Sam exclaimed.
“Not really. When Lucifer told me of Zachariel here and his connection to Dina, I knew I had to use him so you could find this child. I showed this boy where the child was and how to get here, and made sure the child wouldn’t leave the castle before you could arrive. And when we got word from the demons who attacked you that you all had escaped, well, I promised Lucifer to bring the child once he was ready. Which of course was never.”
“Why do all this? Why betray your king?” Castiel demanded.
“Because he is no king! All he wants is to return to Heaven and take control there, abandoning Hell. All he cares about is licking his wounds that Daddy gave him and his little sister, who he cares about more than just a sibling so I would keep her under lock and key until you defeat him.”
Crowley stood up from his seat and walked over to the blonde woman.
“Sadly, the child’s mother died during childbirth and her soul has now moved on. But my loyal servant, Meg, will accompany you to help care for the child using the mother’s body. I have already sent word to my mother to prepare a place for both Meg and the child to stay in secret until the war is over. Once you have won and defeated Lucifer, you may do what you wish to the child.”
Meg bowed towards Sam and Castiel, her little smirk never leaving her face.
“You really think we will bring a demon back with us?!” Castiel exclaimed in anger.
“I am only obedient to Lord Crowley,” Meg spoke up. “He commands I go wherever the child goes.”
“We can’t bring a demon with us,” Castiel muttered to Sam. “She may guide Lucifer to us.”
“I wish to never serve that bastard again!” Meg exclaimed. “I once stood by his side, his obedient slave, and then he replaced me with Lilith. That bitch had me tortured and send me to the darkest corner of Hell. If it wasn’t for Lord Crowley finding me and pulling me out of there, I would have lost my mind. Lord Crowley has given me a reason to continue on and I shall be by his side when he takes the crown of Hell.”
“So that’s what you want Crowley,” Zachariel growled. “You want the power of Hell for yourself!”
“Well, I am the best choice once Lucifer is no more.”
“And if you become King of Hell, then what?” Sam asked. “Will you become our enemy?”
“No, I just want you to promise me that you won’t seal up the portal.”
Sam narrowed his eyes at Crowley, which the man waved off.
“I don’t want to send demons up here, I do hate this dreadful land. If you seal the portal, then those human souls meant for the fires of Hell won’t be able to enter. And I know that is King John and King Chuck’s plan. King Chuck wants all souls to go to his realm, the more souls he has, the more power he gains. And you can expect him to come knocking later with that power to take Earth. King Chuck is as greedy as his son Lucifer, Prince Castiel cannot disagree.”
Sam looked at Castiel, who was looking down at his feet.
“My father has been known to be greedy,” Castiel muttered. “But you haven’t really answered our question. Why should you be King of Hell?”
“Because I would never rage war with the humans or the Heavens. I will keep the demons at bay and give my fealty to Prince Sam once he becomes king. All I ask in return is that you don’t seal the portal and just ignore Hell from that moment on.”
“How can we trust you?” Sam asked.
“Well, like I said, the child is yours to hide and do what you will. Meg will be my messenger and I do believe I already started with giving your kind some kindness by sending my mother your way with her magical healing abilities and witchcraft.”
Sam looked at Crowley all confused, wondering who he was talking about. After a second or two of silence, Crowley rolled his eyes and waved his hands wildly.
“The witch Rowena! She is my mother and when Lucifer sent her packing, I sent her to your castle to offer her services. Plus, I knew your father wouldn’t ignore her charm. She has kept your wall impenetrable from demons, hence why no one inside can be possessed. Well, by demons, of course, can’t say much of angels.”
“Is this witch trustworthy, Sam?” Castiel asked with a mumble.
“Yes, Rowena has proven her loyalty time and time to us. If there is anyone I would trust when it comes to dealing with demons, it’s Rowena.”
Cas nodded his head slowly.
“Fine, we will take your servant and the child and Rowena will hide them both. But, you must promise to keep your word of giving fealty to me when I become king, not to my father but to me! And you will inform us of any moves Lucifer takes when it comes to this war.”
“Lucifer doesn’t share everything with me. I only aid him in the soul's department and with a few things here and there. Cain, Lilith and Abaddon are his most trustworthy and the only ones that know every detail of his doings.”
“Then you will share whatever you can find out,” Sam clarified. “With that, once this war is over, I won’t have the portal sealed and you will receive your souls so long as you keep the demons to your realm.”
Crowley extended his hand out with a smirk. Sam took his hand hesitantly and shook it once he had it in his grasp.
“Deal,” Crowley chuckled before letting go of Sam’s hand.
Crowley then turned to the men and Dean and waved his hand, Dean suddenly pulled out from his daze and shaking his head before realizing that he was holding the baby. He looked up at Crowley and then at Sam, confused.
“What happened? Last I remember, we ran in and...and…” Dean stuttered as the other men tried to get a hold of reality. “And when did I get this baby?!”
“Don’t worry Dean, everything is alright,” Castiel assured. “What’s important is that we have the child and we can leave.”
“Best you leave soon. Lilith should arrive at any moment since she hasn’t heard from me since my arrival,” Crowley added as he took a glass of wine that was sitting on a nearby table.
“Wait what? Who is…” Dean began.
“No time to explain,” Sam rushed as he grabbed Dean by the shoulders. “Just hold onto the child and we will explain things once we are safe and away from here. Castiel, grab Meg and let us all go in search of everyone else.”
Castiel grabbed Meg by her arm and pulled her along with him as the other men ran out and down the stairs, searching for the rest of the group. Once everyone was in the entrance hall, Sam commanded everyone to run to where they left the horses and to not look back. As they ran through the tall field of grass, Sam looked back to see a carriage pull up. He dropped down to watch who climbed out as Zachariel joined his side.
“I promised Dina never to leave your side as well,” he whispered. “Prince Castiel is already guiding everyone to the horses and they will wait for us.”
“Good,” Sam whispered as his eyes forced on the new carriage.
When the carriage door opened, a woman with striking blonde hair climbed out. She wore a white gown and white shoes, everything clean and perfect. Her hair was pulled back with loose curls falling around her face. Sam watched as she looked at the wide-open doors and when she turned back to scan across the tall grass, Sam noticed how white her eyes turned, quickly going back to their normal state as she turned back to the castle and stomped right inside. Once the coast was clear, Sam grabbed Zachariel by the arm and dragged him right behind him, both running to catch up with the rest. Sam stopped midway and pulled Zachariel to face him.
“Why didn’t you tell us you were working for a demon?!”
“I swear to you I wasn’t! Lord Crowley only said he felt pity for me and told me to run before Abaddon could get her hands on me! He told me to run to your castle for safety and to seek Rowena out but I thought it was a trap! Send me to you only to have Abaddon find your lands and find a way to get inside. I swear, I didn’t know Lord Crowley meant for me to give you the information about the child!”
Sam grunted as he let Zachariel go, punching a nearby tree in anger. He had just made a deal with a demon, all because they needed to take the child in hopes it would give them more time to find a way to stop Lucifer.
“That woman you saw,” Zachariel said. “That was Lilith. She is Lucifer’s concubine and the one that gave him the idea of the powerful child. If Lord Crowley can manage his way with Lilith, he can get you any information you need.”
“Let’s hope Crowley is capable of doing so,” Sam grunted before turning back to face Zachariel. “Thank you for all this. If it weren’t for you and your knowledge, we wouldn’t have known about the child nor would we have gotten here in time.”
Sam extended his hand out to Zachariel, giving him a smile.
“Since you have shown your loyalty, and my wife trusts you, I wish to welcome you into our home for good. You do not have to return to Heaven, for you have a home and safe place under my roof.”
Zachariel looked at Sam with shock before taking his hand and shaking it, tears flowing down.
“I promise you, no one will ever treat you the way you have been treated, and you will be under my protection as a friend of my family.”
“Thank you, Prince Sam!” Zachariel gushed.
“Please, just Sam.”
“Thank you, Sam, thank you so much! My life, my being, my sword belongs to you and Dina. For as long as I live, I will forever protect the Winchester bloodline and make sure no harm comes to you, your wife or your future family.”
Sam smiled at Zachariel as shook his hand. They then began to make their way to the rest of the group, climbing onto their horses and riding off into the night, finally with Lucifer’s prize.

Lucifer suddenly grabbed one of the demons standing nearby and began to choke him, crushing the neck of the body the demon was in. A puff of smoke escaped the body and disappeared out of the room, the body dropping dead in Lucifer’s hand, neck cracked. Lucifer threw the body across the room, smashing into his wooden cabinet where all his weapons fell out from.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY TOOK IT?!” he roared out in anger, turning to look at Lilith and Crowley.
Lilith looked over at Crowley who stood there, not showing any fear.
“Like I said, Your Majesty. When I arrived, I noticed a group of men running off and they wore Winchester colors. Once I entered the castle, I found all the guards dead and the child and the mother gone.”
“The important question here is how did the Winchesters know about the child to begin with?” Lilith asked as she eyed Crowley.
“Didn’t someone in the guard lose their meat suit during a switch? I mean, they never did return with the body so as you had confirmation the human was dead,” Crowley questioned Lilith.
“Are you assuming I am the one to blame!?” Lilith yelled at him.
“I am just pointing out a possibility,” Crowley responded calmly.
“ENOUGH!” Lucifer roared, tired of the two constantly going back and forth with blame. “You will bring that child back to me, or so help me I will tear your meat suit apart and feed your essence to my hounds!”
Lilith and Crowley turned and bowed to Lucifer before leaving the room. Lucifer took a seat in his throne and stared at the closed door once they left. His eyes began to glow a bright red as he lost himself in thought.
“Samuel will not have what’s mine. Dina and that child are mine, mine alone.”
