The gay march 2.5.2023
Let me at least start off this letter on a happy note as I don't know how happy the rest of it will be. A great meeting with Shelley and Steve at my favourite restaurant, the Pundak.
The reason I say I will at least start off on a happier note is that I am going to the gay parade this afternoon. It is unlike the gay parade in Tel Aviv. Here there is a lot of tension around it. This will put it more clearly than I can. Jerusalem is the city where a young girl was stabbed to death some years ago by one of these so-called religious.
I did 1600 steps yesterday. The streets were closed around the park where we gathered and, even before the march, we had a good few kilometres to walk to get there. Even Gorstein's friend whom I have met before was also there.

I don't know if you have heard of this book  which has just been translated but I don't know when last I have read such trash and idiocy.....if I leave out Netanyahu's speeches and those of his ministers.

And to give you an idea of how  Israel lives in the dark ages, this is how a young transgender boy has been treated by parents of his school.

The march was peaceful.
These two young women got married this morning and I heard it was actually at the event.
I have to explain about the pink shirt. During Balfour they always sang this song. They were a pink group and one day they called me to their tent and gave me the shirt. I just thought what a pretty colour it was and then someone told me to look on the last letter and I saw it was me with my two sticks. Such a compliment. I haven't worn it as I felt as if it were a personal advertisement but yesterday I felt it was appropriate.
