In the Liturgical calendar, it is the Feast Day of St Suairlech, Bishop of Fore, Co Westmeath. 1174 – Death of St Gelasius of Armagh (meaning ‘servant of Jesus’). Killea, County Donegal, Ireland
This giant 100 meter long cross is now known as the “Emery Celtic Cross” which is proudly named after its creator Liam Emery. Intelligently he planted 2 different species of pine trees in the shape of this giant celtic cross design 10 years ago in these woods of Donegal. The reason being that the outer trees are evergreen and don’t drop their needles during Autumn but the trees used for the actual cross design are not evergreen & turn this golden colour right before they drop their needles for the cold seasons ahead
After a decade of secretly growing all the same colour, it was only last fall that these trees have matured enough to shed their needles & this hidden wonder became visible for the first time ever. The Emery Celtic Cross was first spotted last year by passenger plane pilots & some passengers believed it to be an actual miracle! Unfortunately Mr Liam Emery passed away 6 years ago and never got to witness his stunning creation grow, but im sure he is now smiling from ear to ear with pride when he stares down from heaven at his now miracle famous “Emery Celtic Cross”
We thank you for this lasting Legacy Liam, you have certainly helped God put a stamp on Ireland

i learned of the Emery Celtic Cross - in the early 2000s, a Forester in Ireland planted two different species of trees to create a 125 metre tall Celtic cross design within a forest. The design was first discovered in 2016 by an airplane passenger, 6 years after the Forester, Liam Emery, had died (x)

The Emery Celtic Cross, in Killea, County Donegal, Ireland. It is 100 metres in length and is named after its creator Liam Emery.
It was created by planting this forest with 2 different species of pine trees. The outer trees are evergreen and don’t drop their needles during Autumn but the trees used for the actual cross design are not evergreen & turn a golden colour right before they drop their needles for the cold seasons ahead.
After a decade of this forest secretly growing all the same colour, it was only a few years ago that these trees finally matured enough to shed their needles during autumn. Then this hidden wonder became visible for the first time & the Emery Celtic Cross was first sighted by pilots and passengers on a plane flying over the area.

Wolves Beat Arsenal, Condemn Arteta’s Side To Third Consecutive Home Defeat

Wolves recovered from losing top scorer Raul Jimenez to a sickening head injury to inflict Arsenal’s third consecutive home league defeat with a 2-1 win at the Emirates on Sunday.
The Mexican received treatment from medics for 10 minutes on the floor after colliding with David Luiz before being stretchered from the field.
Luiz continued with blood seeping into a white bandage wrapped around his head until half-time, when he was replaced by Rob Holding, leading to fresh calls for the introduction of concussion substitutes in football.

The rest of the Wolves team had combined for just five goals in their previous nine league games, but Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence struck to hand the visitors a first win away to Arsenal since 1979.
Sky Sports reported Jimenez is conscious in hospital and responding to treatment.
Football’s lawmakers IFAB have opened the door for concussion substitutes to be used on a trial basis with the English Football Association hoping to do so in this season’s FA Cup.
Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton has been a campaigner for concussion subs and more investigation into the high percentage of former footballers suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
“Sickening head clash between Jimenez and Luiz. It’s time football wised up and got up to date and immediately ratifies temporary concussion replacements,” Sutton tweeted.
“Jimenez clearly in a bad way. Has David Luiz been checked adequately?”
There was a sombre mood on the pitch when the action returned but Wolves quickly took the lead.
Leander Dendoncker headed an Adama Traore cross against the crossbar but Neto was quickest to respond and converted the rebound.

The lead was short-lived as Arsenal responded to score their first goal from open play in six league games.
Willian’s inviting cross was powered home by Gabriel Magalhaes at the back post for his second goal for the club.
But the Arsenal defence that had been the bedrock of a revival under Mikel Arteta towards the end of last season as they won the FA Cup, could not cope with the pace of Traore.
Another dart from the Spaniard teed up Neto and when his shot was spilled by Bernd Leno, Podence reacted fastest to turn the loose ball home.
Arsenal responded after the break to pin Nuno Espirito Santo’s men back, but the home side again lacked inspiration and a clinical finish in the final third.
Bukayo Saka should have done better when he skewed wide from close range.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s wait for a Premier League goal from open play since he signed a lucrative new contract worth a reported £55 million ($73 million) over three years also goes on.
The Arsenal captain had his side’s best chance for an equaliser but headed wide much to the dismay of Arteta on the sidelines.

A year to the day since Unai Emery was sacked with the Gunners sitting eighth in the Premier League, Arteta’s men now sit 14th.
At the other end of the table, Wolves climb up to sixth and within four points of league leaders Tottenham and Liverpool.

Frankfurt 0-0 Arsenal LIVE: Score, Unai Emery makes SEVEN Europa League changes | Football | Sport
FRANKFURT 0-0 ARSENAL
Frankfurt XI: Trapp, Abraham, Hasebe, Hinteregger, Da Costa, Kamada, Kohr, Sow, Kostic, Silva, Dost
Arsenal XI: Martinez, Chambers, Luiz, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Willock, Smith Rowe, Saka, Aubameyang
Unai Emery makes even changes from Watford draw
FRANKFURT 0-0 ARSENAL
30: Chance! Great counter-attacking football from Arsenal with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang driving down the left channel. He clips the ball over to the advancing Joe Willock, who loses composure and leathers it high.

27: I don’t want to use David Luiz as a punching bag – but he’s looking vulnerable. The centre-back completely misjudges the flight of a Frankfurt corner – allowing Hinteregger to chest it down and leather one at goal. Blocked.
24: Arsenal are creaking now as Frankfurt continue to boss things here. Emiliano Martinez keeps Arsenal in it when making a fine save from Filip Kostic, who struck a firm effort having beaten Calum Chambers for the umpteenth time today.
Tumblr media

21: Chance! Frankfurt should have the lead. Kostic strolls in down the left and angles his run towards goal only to fire high and wide. Andre Silva then sits Calum Chambers on his backside with a nifty turn before winning the corner. This place is going mad, just imagine if they actually scored!
18: Injury concern for Arsenal with Lucas Torreira in agony. He strides to meet a through pass from Saka and looks to have twisted his ankle when jumping over goalkeeper Trapp. Fallen very awkwardly.
He’s getting booed by the Frankfurt supporters, who aren’t exactly sympathetic. Oh… he’s fine. Miraculous recovery…
Tumblr media

15: Frankfurt get away with one as Sow gifts the ball to Saka in midfield. The teenager runs at goal but delays the pass to Aubameyang, who can’t find a way past Hasebe. Good opening not taken advantage of.
13: Silva has a pop from distance having been afforded far too much space by David Luiz. The striker doesn’t need a second invitation to fire wide of the target.
Hinteregger earns an early booking for tugging back Chambers. Silly.
10: How’s that for a stat. Half of Arsenal’s starting XI have played in the Bundesliga. Don’t ask me to go through them all – it’ll take me far too long.
I also can’t hear myself think with these Frankfurt supporters. They haven’t stopped signing since about 5pm. I wonder if they offer a discount to anyone sitting behind one of the nine giant flags they are holding…
Tumblr media

7: Slow-burner? Did I really say that?! Well things have burst into light now as Lucas Torreira squanders an absolute sitter.
Bukayo Saka sends a delightful cross in from the left to an unmarked Torreira, who arrives to balloon it miles into the stands from five-yards out. Should be 1-0 to the Arsenal.
5: First shot of the evening falls to Djibril Sow. He arrives on the edge of the area to crack a first-time effort straight at Emiliano Martinez.
3: How have things started? Very slowly indeed. Lots of huff, puff and tackling – not much fluency, chances or even completed passing. We’ll call it a slow-burner.
FRANKFURT 0-0 ARSENAL
1: Right then, the long and winding road to the Europa League final starts now. It’s a hard journey – but it’s worth it. Just ask Chelsea, who lost at home to Valencia… OK, that didn’t work, but you know what I mean.
Tumblr media

Europa is massive for Arsenal
17:50: BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves: “I think the Europa League is massive for both of them [Manchester United and Arsenal]. They’ve fallen behind Manchester City and Liverpool, they have.
“The fact of the matter is this competition I think for both teams is, in a way, must win. I don’t see either of them finishing in the top four the way they’re currently playing. So I think the best way to get in there is this competition.
“I think for Arsenal, with all the players they have, can they find a way to win this competition? They probably have one of the best squads in the competition.”

Frankfurt fans…
17:40: Not much to write in this update, other than these Frankfurt supporters are completely committed and certifiably insane.
A quick Google search led to hundreds of videos of supporters shaking stadiums, taking 12,000 fans away for a group stage game against Bordeaux and removing seats in protest of not being able to stand.
To say a hostile atmosphere is expected inside the 51,500 capacity Commerzbank-Arena would be an understatement.

Twitter round-up
Ally: Wow Aubameyang starts this match after playing for 90 mins in all our games. Meanwhile, Ozil is rested after just playing 70 mins.
Dan: Ozil being rested is a terrible decision. If anything the man needs more minuets. Definitely not match fit and we won’t see the best of him until he gets back into the swing of things.
Ire: Betting companies need to have an option to bet on Ozil getting “rested”… Cuz based on the last 2 seasons, that’s a pot of gold.
I suspect that’s why they don’t have a market for that, Ire…
Tumblr media

Ozil rested…
17:25: Yep, one 70-minute appearance and Mesut Ozil deserves a rest. Sounds about right.
The German playmaker made his first appearance of the season against Watford on Sunday. The 30-year-old missed the start of the season after being targeted by carjackers and because of illness.
“Really the first match he played on Sunday, he played well and was good physically,” Emery said.
“Now he is ready to help us, not tomorrow but on Sunday – we are going to play another match and tomorrow we are thinking to do some rotation.”

Predictions
17:15: Frankfurt have a fun game on their Twitter feed. The randomly generated scorelines stop when you click on it – revealing your prediction.
Mine, as you can see, says it’ll be 5-4 in favour of Arsenal tonight. Just checked and it’s 200/1 on Betfair. Easy money I reckon.
Another tweet Frankfurt sent out read: “Dear Arsenal fans, a warm welcome to the Frankfurt City Forest for the first group match of the 2019/20 Europa League campaign. We are very pleased to be able to greet you in our wonderful stadium. Let’s enjoy an exciting and fair European cup tie together!”
Awwww, aren’t they nice.

Elsewhere…
17:10: Arsenal aren’t the only British representative in action this evening – not by a long shot.
Celtic are also in the strange, silly and unnecessary 5:55pm slot. Neil Lennon’s side travel to France for a tricky clash with Rennes.
Later tonight Manchester United welcome Astana to Old Trafford, Feyenoord travel to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Wolves host Braga.
Tumblr media

Twitter round-up
James: Shkodran Mustafi x David Luiz is the most ambitious crossover event in history.
Boom: David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi paired together for a Europa Group Stage match away at Frankfurt. What could possibly go wrong?
Jack: Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz AND Calum Chambers. Sounds like Unai Emery wants a sweet payoff and few months off.
We’re one Mike Dean officiating away from complete and utter comedy tonight.
Team news – Frankfurt
16:50: I’ve no idea how many changes Frankfurt have made – but I know there’s no sign of Luka Jovic, Ante Rebic or Sebastien Haller.
All three of last season’s heroes have been sold to Real Madrid, AC Milan and West Ham for well over £100million.
There’s still more than a couple of threatening players in Frankfurt’s ranks with Bast Dost, Andre Silva and Filip Kostic all starting.
Frankfurt XI: Trapp, Abraham, Hasebe, Hinteregger, Da Costa, Kamada, Kohr, Sow, Kostic, Silva, Dost.
Subs: Ronnow, N’Dicka, Falette, Fernandes, Joveljic, Chandler, Paciencia.
Tumblr media
Frankfurt vs Arsenal LIVE: Europa League score, goals, highlights and updates (Image: GETTY)
Team news – Arsenal
16:45: Unai Emery has made seven changes from the trip to Vicarage Road.
The four survivors are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Granit Xhaka, Sead Kolasinac and David Luiz, the latter presumably a punishment for conceding that late penalty.
Elsewhere Emiliano Martinez starts between the sticks with Calum Chambers at right-back with Shkodran Mustafi partnering Luiz in the middle.
There’s starts for youngsters Joe Willock, Emile Smith Rowe and someone I’ve been hugely impressed with – Bukayo Saka.
Tumblr media
Frankfurt vs Arsenal LIVE: Europa League score, goals, highlights and updates (Image: GETTY)
Starting XI…
16:40: Well… Unai Emery has certainly made changes from the side who drew with Watford on Sunday. What a game that was… for the neutral.
Arsenal XI: Martinez, Chambers, Luiz, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Willock, Smith Rowe, Saka, Aubameyang.
Subs: Leno, Ceballos, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Nelson, Guendouzi, Martinelli.
Afternoon
16:35: The return of Thursday evening football… how I’ve missed you.
That’s right, folks. Europa League action returns to our screens with an unusually exciting opener. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
Usually it’s someone like Astana, Qarabag or Ludogorets – but tonight Arsenal must travel to Bundesliga outfit Frankfurt.
Frankfurt’s Commerzbank-Arena is an absolute cauldron. I remember last season against Chelsea they had flares, terrifying flags and even dismantled the seats.
This will not be a walk in the park.

FRANKFURT vs ARSENAL – TEAM NEWS
Arsenal continue without striker Alexandre Lacazette, who is sidelined until October with an ankle injury.
Full-backs Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney have resumed training but haven’t made the trip to Germany. Rob Holding is in line for a first appearance for nine months.
Serbia winger Filip Kostic and midfielder Mijat Gacinovic are expected to be available for last season’s Europa League semi-finalists.

Emery Celtic Cross
Known as the Emery Celtic Cross, named after its creator. Forester Liam Emery, planted this amazing Celtic cross design in the early 2000s near Killea, in Donegal. Emery used two different types of trees to create the effect, which must have taken amazing planning skills. Sadly, Emery died in 2010 after suffering brain damage and it was only in the fall of 2016 that his amazing creation in…

The best and worst possible Europa League picks for Man Utd and Arsenal
Manchester United Arsenal Wolves, Celtic and Rangers Will find out on Friday afternoon in the Europa League group stage.
It is perhaps the second largest game in Europe behind the Champions League, but there are still many teams to fear.
Here, Sportsmail looks at the best and worst possible draws for the English and Scottish side.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to attract and avoid certain teams on Friday "class =" blkBorder img-share "/>
Man United and Arsenal will want to attract certain teams in the Europa League group and avoidance
SAUSAGE CASE
Arsenal and Ma nchester United are in pot 1 so luckily some of the biggest names in the competition will be avoided, such as Sevilla, Rome and Porto.
However, there are still some parties that they do not want to see in their group on Friday.
In pot 2 both United and Arsenal hope to avoid Borussia Mönchengladbach, PSV Eindhoven and Celtic
PSV Eindhoven made a strong start to the season and would have a tough fight for his team
Saint-Etienne are lurking among the most dangerous teams in pot 3 of the Europa League draw
FOR MANCHESTER UNITED EN ARSENAL
Manchester United / A rsenal
PSV Eindhoven
Saint-Etienne
Rangers
FOR CELTIC
[194590025] [194590025]] Sevilla
Celtic
Wolves
Trabzonspor
[1945902]
Monchengladbach has spent a lot of time this season competing.
For a good side because Ajax was last season, they were only separated by three points and PSV in the Eredivisie rankings. They may have lost Luuk van Jong, but the Dutch side will be a difficult night work for most teams.
Celtic failed to reach the Champions League, but there are something special about European nights at Celtic Park and few will be happy that I have to go there in the groups. Plus the Anglo-Scottish rivalry will serve as extra motivation for them.
Saying that Celtic would ideally prefer one of the weaker sides in pot 1. United and Arsenal would be a tasty draw, but again, in the walk in the park for them too. They would probably be better off avoiding each other completely.
FOR WOLVES AND RANGERS
Sevilla
PSV Eindhoven
Wolves
Rangers
[1945215]] In pot 3, United, Arsenal and Celtic hope to miss Saint-Etienne and Feyernoord, who are the strongest two sides in that pot.
Qarabag would also be a team that they want to avoid unless they want to travel five and a half hours back from Azerbaijan on Thursday night.
Wolves are also in their pot, but cannot be drawn against Arsenal or United. Nuno Espirito Santo & # 39; s men will be dark horses to go far in this competition.
A team full of cultivated and talented players, they ensure that they can mix it in Europe by defeating a very capable Torino side in the qualifying round. Celtic will not want to be set against them
In pot 4, the only thing one fears is the unknown. Rangers will be the only side where United, Arsenal and Wolves would like to avoid.
The men of Steve Gerrard will have trouble getting a favorable draw, as they are in pot 4 and want to avoid all English games, as well as the aforementioned teams.
Alfredo Morelos is Ranger Dangerman and the most won & # 39 ; I want to get them out of pot 4
BEST CASE
United and Arsenal expect to be relatively easy to get past the first obstacle in the group they get.
But this competition has traditionally been a playground for young blood talent and they will want to feel comfortable enough to hand out as many opportunities as possible without the risk of getting blown in their faces.
There are several teams in pot 2 United and Arsenal will be happy to take it on. Perhaps the simplest task of all is Astana, the champions in Kazakhstan.
Although they are well into their domestic season, Astana is certainly one of the weakest points in the pot.
They have not passed the qualifying rounds to the Champions League in the last four seasons and could not even leave their Europa League group last year. Astana is currently also in second place in the Kazakhstan competition. Otherwise they will want to draw the Bulgarian Ludogorets.
Ludogorets & # 39; Jody Lukoki celebrates scoring during the Europa League qualification round [1945908]
Rosenborg got out of the Champions qualifiers League beaten but would be a good team to
In pot 3 ho Pen United and Arsenal Rosenborg, who was good ten in their Champions League qualifier by Dinamo Zagreb and are currently fourth in the Norwegian top flight.
While Celtic and Rangers crossed their fingers for Basle in pot 1. Once the dominant force in Switzerland, Basle has diminished in playing second fiddle behind Young Boys.
Both Celtic and Rangers should have enough to pass through Basel without any problems. They will both equally like to draw Rosenborg in pot 3.
Wolves hope for Astana and Basle in their group, while there is a lot of room to hit luck in pot 4.
Perhaps the best team to draw would be Dudelange. The Luxembourg party only plays for an audience of no more than 2500 – less than the average turnout of Cheltenham Town – and has secured their place in this competition only by defeating a party that was set up just two years ago with penalties.
FOR MANCHESTER UNITED AND ARSENAL
Manchester United / Arsenal

Champions League 2017-18: The moments of this season
Champions League 2017-18: The moments of this season
Champions League 2017-18: The moments of this season
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 15 targets on this season’s Champions League going into Saturday’s last with Liverpool
With just one sport of this season’s competitors remaining, BBC Sport gathered the ideas of a number of European soccer journalists on the moments that formed the 2017-18 Champions League.
This is what BBC Euro Leagues Football Show regulars Mina Rzouki, James Horncastle, Julien Laurens and Raphael Honigstein, European soccer author Andy Brassell, BBC World Service’s John Bennett and BBC Sport on-line journalist Emlyn Begley considered probably the most memorable targets, performances, disasters and comedy moments.
Finest second
Kostas Manolas’ 82nd-minute winner gave Roma a 3-Zero win over Barcelona, and a semi-final spot on away targets
JB: The Kostas Manolas header which accomplished one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history. Roma had been out of this world towards Barcelona on that Tuesday night time again in April however time was working out and it seemed as if Barcelona would squeeze via to the semi-finals, till Manolas flicked on Cengiz Beneath’s cross. Cue scenes on the Stadio Olimpico that ‘I Giallorossi’ followers will always remember. Soccer was invented for moments like that.
AB: You could possibly choose any considered one of a handful from Tottenham’s marketing campaign, an enormous leap ahead from final season, however Christian Eriksen’s equaliser away at Juventus stands out. Spurs had no simple duties on this season’s Champions League and had been equal to most of them, however Eriksen’s objective capped a shocking comeback and underlined the truth that Mauricio Pochettino and firm had one of many competitors’s most constant groups of latest years sweating.
RH: Mo Salah’s objective within the second leg against Manchester City. Simply when Liverpool had been actually starting to crumble and wanted one thing to occur, he comes up with probably the most nonchalant, cool, nearly easy end you will see to settle a tie.
EB: Cristiano Ronaldo’s bicycle kick for Actual Madrid at Juventus within the quarter-final first leg. The best goalscorer the Champions League has ever identified has grow to be extra of a poacher as he will get older – however he confirmed he nonetheless has the power to attain marvel targets with this strike. The standing ovation he acquired from the Juve followers had shades of the unique Ronaldo’s hat-trick towards Manchester United.
JL: PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa – a really common soccer participant – scoring a hat-trick against Anderlecht. Think about all the good defenders who’ve performed within the Champions League and he is the primary one to attain a hat-trick. That is soccer taking the mick.
JH: James Pallotta, the Roma president, dropping into the Piazza del Popolo fountain after Roma accomplished probably the most unbelievable comeback we have seen on this event… since Barcelona beat Paris St-Germain. It felt like a defining second in a terrific season for Roma.
Excellent efficiency
Cristiano Ronaldo held his nerve to knock Juventus out following the Italian facet’s quarter-final fightback
RH: There have been a number of excellent workforce performances, like Sevilla’s win at Previous Trafford. For a participant, it is a bit simpler as you may identify him yearly Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 15 targets – and the 90th-minute penalty against Juventus. It was a sport the place nothing had gone for Actual Madrid and the Bernabeu had been baying for blood. The best way he scored, the whole lack of any nervousness, was vastly spectacular. He’s an actual function mannequin for anybody who needs to see easy methods to cope with stress.
JL: The second leg between Roma and Barcelona. I believe there is no such thing as a different alternative. It was such an unbelievable sport. The Romantada, karma – hitting Barcelona after what they did to PSG final season. It was an unbelievable efficiency and deserved win.
JB: Sorry Manchester United followers however Wissam Ben Yedder’s cameo at Old Trafford stands out for me. He got here on within the 72nd minute, gave Sevilla the lead within the 74th minute after which a beautiful, nerveless end made historical past for Sevilla within the 78th minute. The definition of an affect sub. Actually he made such a big effect that two days later Didier Deschamps gave him his first worldwide call-up.
AB: Roma 3-Zero Chelsea. Many will level to the ‘Romantada’, the Giallorossi’s second-leg fightback towards Barcelona, but it surely was victory over the English champions that set the tone for Eusebio di Francesco’s workforce within the Champions League. Their key gamers had been nicely rested – due to the squad enhancements made by new sporting director Monchi – and it confirmed as they tore into Chelsea with need and attacking intent.
EB: Mohamed Salah’s masterclass within the the primary leg of Liverpool’s semi-final towards his outdated membership Roma. The winger scored two glorious targets – and assisted two extra – to beat one of many world’s high goalkeepers in Alisson Becker. All this in arguably the largest sport of his profession – towards a workforce who ought to have identified easy methods to include him higher than anybody. As if to emphasize simply how good he’d been, the Reds seemed like they might add to their 5-Zero lead when he got here off – and it ended 5-2.
MR: Tottenham going to Turin, enjoying in that stadium the place so many individuals have struggled and scoring all these targets towards Juventus within the first leg was attention-grabbing. Watching that, I assumed Spurs have introduced themselves on the largest stage.
Breakthrough participant
Mohamed Salah has scored 10 targets within the Champions League this season, plus one other in qualifying
MR: Mo Salah. It must be a Liverpool participant. This can be a man I famously didn’t think would do all the pieces he managed to do. Watching him at Roma, he was a great participant however nothing like what’s he is proved to be at Liverpool. He is a distinct participant – he has the spark, high quality, tempo and understanding together with his team-mates. He is proved to be the distinction maker. Once you have a look at what he was for Roma, that match against Real Madrid and now, he is implausible.
JB: We knew about him right here within the UK however now Scotland’s Andrew Robertson has made the breakthrough on the European stage. The Liverpool defender was excellent within the quarter-final towards Manchester Metropolis and within the semi-final versus Roma. From relegation with Hull Metropolis to a Champions League last with Liverpool in 12 months. An impressed signing by Jurgen Klopp.
RH: It’s a must to go together with a Liverpool participant. Sadio Mane has been a revelation. He’d by no means performed within the Champions League correct earlier than, he’d all the time failed within the qualifiers with Salzburg. The affect he is had, with a hat-trick against Porto and scoring in all the large video games, he will get neglected a little bit bit with the business of Firmino and brilliance of Salah however he is had a implausible season.
AB: Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder. Getting into this yr’s Champions League with solely a smattering of European expertise, he confirmed what a canny finisher he’s – solely Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s phenomenal entrance three have scored greater than him within the competitors, together with his eight targets together with a double to sink Manchester United at Previous Trafford.
JL: Roma keeper Alisson Becker. We’ve stated on the pod many occasions how nice he is been this season. Regardless of the semi-final towards Liverpool, the place he was a bit let down by his defence, he is been unbelievable. He is been the most effective goalkeeper in Europe.
JH: Andy Robertson has had a terrific season and it is an unbelievable story. He did not make the grade at Celtic and was relegated with Hull Metropolis. From that to being within the Champions League last is outstanding.
EB: A £34m signing could also be an odd choice for breakthrough participant – however no one anticipated a situation the place Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah would outscore Lionel Messi on this season’s Champions League or be a critical contender to interrupt the 10-year Ronaldo-Messi Ballon d’Or duopoly. This can be a man who had scored three Champions League targets earlier than this season – and none in a knockout sport.
Greatest disappointment
Marco Verratti was despatched off as Paris St-Germain went out to Actual Madrid
AB: Paris St-Germain’s exit. There is no disgrace in shedding to Actual Madrid, after all, however the method through which Paris let this slip was vastly deflating after the fanfare surrounding Neymar’s arrival. PSG managed to throw away a promising place within the first leg and rarely looked capable of turning it around at home.
MR: Juventus travelling to the Bernabeu, scoring three targets and strolling out empty handed due to that penalty determination. They did not do sufficient to safe their passage into the semi-finals regardless of an excellent efficiency in Spain.
JB: When Actual Madrid, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund had been drawn collectively in Group H, we had been all anticipating field workplace video games and a nerve-wracking end. In the long run, the Germans allow us to down. Dortmund completed with no win and with solely two factors from two draws against Apoel Nicosia. Head coach Peter Bosz paid the value when he was sacked in December.
JL: Paris St-Germain. They’d Actual Madrid on the ropes on the Bernabeu in the first leg – and nonetheless managed to bottle it. Unai Emery made poor tactical modifications and the workforce did not present up for the second leg in Paris. That was so disappointing.
EB: Barcelona blowing a 4-1 first-leg result in exit to Roma. It was a terrific Champions League comeback – however hopes had been excessive for a workforce who nearly went via your entire La Liga season unbeaten. It additionally meant for a 3rd season in a row there was no Lionel Messi within the final 4. I’d have gone for Atletico crashing out within the group levels – however they ended the season profitable the Europa League.
JH: Atletico Madrid. No one actually anticipated Roma to get out of that group as a result of Atleti and Chelsea had been favourites. I do suppose profitable a trophy is healthier than simply popping out of a bunch and getting knocked out, but it surely was a bit disappointing. With Diego Costa, they might have been an actual pressure.
RH: Dortmund ending third in a bunch behind Spurs and Actual Madrid isn’t any crime – however should you have a look at the outcomes and performances, they had been dire. Failing to beat Apoel, I am nonetheless struggling to consider what I noticed. The writing was on the wall for Peter Bosz at that time. It is arduous to have a look at this Dortmund squad and consider how unhealthy they had been at occasions.
Strangest second
Shakhtar boss wears full Zorro outfit after Man Metropolis win
JB: World Snooker champion Mark Williams stole his thunder by turning as much as his information convention in only a towel however we won’t neglect Paulo Fonseca’s Zorro second after Shakhtar Donetsk’s 2-1 victory over Manchester Metropolis in December. Fonseca promised to decorate up as Zorro if his workforce certified for the final 16 of the Champions League and stored his phrase. He should have been assured as a result of the costume was prepared and ready in his workplace at full-time. He is simply signed a brand new deal however anticipate to see the “masked vigilante” at a Premier League membership close to you quickly. Shakhtar performed some glorious soccer on this season’s Champions League.
EB: Gianluigi Buffon is a passionate man – but it surely was shocking to see him lose his cool to such an excessive after Michael Oliver awarded an injury-time penalty to Actual Madrid of their quarter-final second leg. Submit-match interviews the place he stated Oliver had a “bag of garbage for a coronary heart”, was a “beast” and began itemizing the delicate drinks the Englishman ought to be ingesting within the crowd quite than refereeing will reside lengthy within the reminiscence.
AB: Atletico Madrid’s Gabi utilizing a four-letter expletive to explain the Europa League after his facet had been pushed to the brink of group elimination by Azeri minnows Qarabag – just for Diego Simeone and firm to go on and win it. The captain was, although, glad sufficient to poke enjoyable at himself about it after the Lyon last.
JL: Timo Werner coming off for RB Leipzig towards Besiktas as he had a headache because of the noise in the stadium. One of many weirdest issues I’ve ever seen.
JH: Paulo Fonseca, the Shakhtar supervisor, dressing up as Zorro after they certified. He confirmed he is a person who all the time retains his phrase as he’d vowed to try this in the event that they acquired out of the group.
RH: Strangest and most tragic, and humorous relying on the place your sympathies lie, was Sven Ulreich’s calamitous mistake on the Bernabeu. It is the sort of goalkeeping howler which can etch itself on to the collective reminiscence of Bayern followers. It was the largest high-profile mistake I’ve seen in a very long time.
MR: Gianluigi Buffon going completely loopy after Juventus went out to Actual Madrid. He is a veteran, a legend, an icon, everybody seems to him for his feedback and sporting-like behaviour. He is all the time been a gentleman so shedding his rag was unusual. He thought he might go out like Zidane and he did certainly.

The two specific kinds of pine trees he chose for his project shed their pines during the autumn season, resulting in the wonderful colour contrast against the evergreens of the surrounding Japanese larch forest. Sadly, Liam Emery passed away in 2010 before he could witness the fruits of his labour of love and dedication. Champions League Roundup: Chelsea Seal Qualification While Man Utd Falter and Celtic Collapse
Wednesday night's penultimate round of Champions League group stage fixtures raked in the goals across Europe. It was proved to be another mixed night for the Premier League sides as Chelsea ran rampant, but Manchester United faltered in Switzerland.
It was a good day for the rest of Europe's elite as FC Bayern Munich edged past Anderlecht and Paris Saint-Germain completely outclassed Celtic at the Parc des Princes.
Group A leaders Manchester United dropped their first points in the Champions League after succumbing to a late FC Basel winner in Switzerland. Jose Mourinho's side dominated the first-half with Marouane Fellaini flicking on a cross which went just wide, before Marcos Rojo saw a deflected long-range effort cannon off the crossbar. But the tide turned after the break with the Swiss side dominating proceedings. Michael Lang's header in the 69th minute struck the woodwork, but the defender slotted in the winner near the end to make United pay for their complacency.
CSKA Moskva continued their late push to reach the round of 16 for the first time in five seasons with a commanding 2-0 win over Benfica. Georgy Schenikov's early strike put the Russians in control after Natcho capitalised from a deflection off defender Eliseu to assist his teammate. CSKA got another dose of luck from another ricochet as Vitinho's cross was turned into the Benfica net by Jardel.
The loss condemned the Portuguese champions to their fifth defeat as they crash out of Europe. Igor Akinfeev picked up his first clean sheet in 44 Champions League games, dating back all the way to November 2006.
The CSKA Moscow goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev has kept his first Champions League clean sheet in 11 years and 43 games. Glovely.

In Group B, Bayern continued their excellent string of results since the reappointment of Jupp Heynckes. Anderlecht were the better side in the opening 45 minutes and really should have scored a few, but Lukasz Teodorczyk proved wasteful on several occasions. The Belgians were left to rue their missed chances as Robert Lewandowski scored the opener soon after the break, following clever play from James Rodriguez and Corentin Tolisso to split the defence open.
The Bavarians looked to be asserting their dominance on the match, but Anderlecht struck back fast. Bayern failed to deal with a cross from the edge of the box and Teodorczyk's header teed up Sofiane Hanni to capitalise on some poor marking and fire in the equaliser. But it was Bayern who got the last laugh as Tolisso planted a fine header to get all three points.
In the French capital, Paris Saint-Germain continued their 100% win record in the group after demolishing Celtic. The Bhoys got off to the perfect start when Moussa Dembele became the first player to score against the Parisiens in the competition this season - latching onto a corner from countryman Olivier Ntcham to score past Alphonse Areola in the box.
The shock lead sparked life into PSG as Neymar set the pitch alight with a sublime double, before assisting Edinson Cavani with a header for the third goal. The French giants began to assert their dominance on the match as Golden Boy award winner Kylian Mbappe got his first of the night from close range, as Craig Gordon could not keep it out. It looked as if Unai Emery's team had ran out of steam, but three quickfire goals from Marco Verratti, Cavani and Dani Alves capped off the annihilation.
Over in Group C, Chelsea confirmed their place in the next stages with a routine win over ten-man Qarabag. The Blues' dominance paid off soon after the 20-minute mark as Rashad Sadygov was sent off for pushing Willian in the box, and Eden Hazard made no mistake from the spot. With a man advantage, Chelsea produced a work of art for the second goal - Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Hazard scythed through the Qarabag defence, with the Belgian international backheeling for Willian to score.
17 minutes from time, the London side received another penalty which Fabregas slotted with precision into the corner. But the Premier League champions were not finished - on his 200th appearance in a Chelsea shirt, Willian got his second after bursting into space and firing an unstoppable shot past the hapless keeper.
What a move that was! Fabregas to Pedro on to Willian, who rolled in Hazard and he returned the favour with a cute backheel, which Willian slotted home! A great way for the Brazilian to mark his 200th Chelsea appearance. #QARCHE

Atletico Madrid kept their feint hopes of following Chelsea into the last 16 with a 2-0 win over Roma. A dismal first-half left neither goalkeeper being tested was eventually broken by los Colchoneros. It was worth the wait, too, as Antoine Griezmann ended his goal drought with a sublime acrobatic finish from an Angel Correa cross. With five minutes left and Roma pushing for the equaliser, Griezmann then threaded a pass in for Kevin Gameiro to round Alisson Becker and seal a first ever European win at the Wanda Metropolitano.
A clash of the giants between Barcelona and Juventus resulted in a stalemate in Group D at the Allianz Stadium, but meant the Catalans booked their place. The Turin side managed to snuff out the threat of a deadly Barcelona side. The best chance of the opening half coming from an Ivan Rakitic free-kick which bounced up in the box and came off the post. Not even bringing on Lionel Messi could break the deadlock. Juventus came very close to snatching it at the death as Paulo Dybala got on the end of an Alex Sandro cross with a neat shot, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen denied the Argentine.
In Lisbon, Sporting Clube comfortably dispatched of Olympiakos to set-up an intriguing final group stage match scenario. Sporting showed their intent to win early into the match going close after the 3rd minute, and got the opener moments before the break via Bas Dost who seized upon a simple pass. Bruno Cesar doubled the lead after closing down an Olympiakos defender and finishing into the bottom corner. Chances came thick and fast for the Portuguese side as Bas Dost rose highest from a corner to command an unassailable lead, despite the Greek side's late consolation.

PSG 7-1 Celtic: Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani all net in rout
New Post has been published on http://usnewsaggregator.com/psg-7-1-celtic-neymar-mbappe-and-cavani-all-net-in-rout/
PSG 7-1 Celtic: Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani all net in rout
The saving grace for Celtic is that it’s almost over now. This was another gruesome night in a torturous Champions League campaign, yet the final scoreline surprised no-one.
For big clubs from small ponds, Europe’s premier competition is becoming an annual exercise in embarrassment and survival. The super rich are making a habit of contemptuously slapping down the little people.
Pre-match, the bookmakers’ odds told their own story. There were sound reasons why Celtic entered this game as distant 28/1 outsiders. A harrowing 5-0 defeat in Glasgow was one of them. Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani the others.
Neymar was in fine form against Celtic on Wednesday night as PSG came from behind to beat the Scottish champions
PSG went behind early on but it didn’t take long for £198million man Neymar to get on the scoresheet himself in Paris
After Neymar had scored again to put PSG ahead, Edinson Cavani added a third, celebrating wildly with the Brazilian
It was 4-1 PSG with 10 minutes still remaining of the first half as Kylian Mbappe found the top left-hand corner of Celtic’s goal
Marco Verratti (centre, wearing 6) netted the fifth for a delighted PSG, before Cavani scored his second and the team’s sixth
Fans’ favourite Dani Alves completed the incredible victory to put PSG in seventh-heaven with a 20-yard top-corner strike
Moussa Dembele netted inside a minute to give Celtic hope in Paris, but it was shortlived as PSG turned on the style
Dembele celebrates with Celtic team-mate Olivier Ntcham after silencing the Parc des Princes inside a minute of the match

There were 12 passes in the build-up to Neymar’s second goal against Celtic on Wednesday night. Click HERE for more from Sportsmail‘s excellent Match Zone service.
It’s now 39 matches since Monaco travelled to the Parc des Princes in March 2016 and became the last away team to win. Thirteen years since anyone won in the Champions League here.
In nine home league games this season, Unai Emery’s runaway train have scored 32 times, conceding just five. In the Champions League, they hadn’t conceded so much as a goal.
What happened after 57 seconds here, then, was remarkable and unexpected. Celtic scored and it had the feel of a freakish aberration.
Returning to his home city and former club, Moussa Dembele fired Scotland’s champions into the lead, rattling a low corner from Olivier Ntcham high into the net. It was, in the end, a mistake. A huge error of judgment.
Cavani and Dani Alves can do nothing to stop Dembele scoring for Celtic after a well-worked corner in the first minute
Dembele, himself a former PSG player before leaving for Fulham at the age of 16, points a finger to the sky in celebration
Celtic’s players revel in the moment after impressive young striker Dembele had put them ahead against all the odds
By the 35th minute the visitors were 4-1 down, dissected and picked apart by the world’s most expensive forward line. Had it been a boxing match they might have thrown in the towel there and then.
To have any chance here they needed their defenders to defend and their goalkeeper to make saves. On both counts they suffered something close to a collective seizure.
Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic last formed a recognised central defensive partnership in Brussels eight weeks ago. Midfielder Nir Bitton filled the breach in the interim, yet his relegation to the bench didn’t last long and he replaced the injured Mikael Lustig moments after Neymar had levelled the scoring with a clinical finish.
Celtic would almost certainly have lost heavily in any case. This PSG team don’t just play a different game – they’re inventing a whole new sport. Yet the Qatari-backed team scored four goals from their first four shots on target. If they made the job of slicing through the visitors’ defence ridiculously easy there may be good reasons for that.
Celtic had modest expectations from the start. They hoped to come here and keep the score to a respectable margin. To creep away with a modicum of pride and focus their energies on third place in the group. Securing European football after Christmas by seeing off Anderlecht in Glasgow in a fortnight.
Parity was restored when Neymar fired past Mikael Lustig to make it 1-1… the Celtic defender came off injured straight after
Neymar wheels away in celebration after levelling things up, leaving Lustig and Gordon on the floor inside the 18-yard box
Dedryck Boyata was next in the firing line for Celtic as Neymar scored a similar second to put the French giants into the lead
Briefly – ever so briefly – they dared to harbour cautious, improbable hopes of something more.
An awful Dani Alves pass back gifted them a corner. Determined to make an impression on his return home, Dembele peeled off his marker and smashed the ball high into the net through the flailing hands of Alphonse Areola.
It was the first goal PSG had conceded in the competition this season. Europe sat up and took notice. It didn’t last long.
That Neymar loves scoring against Celtic is undeniable. He entered this game with five Champions League goals in five games against the side in green and white, and took his tally to seven with two in 14 minutes to wipe out Celtic’s lead. Both were preposterously easy affairs.
Scott Brown contributed to the first by gifting possession in his own half to Adrien Rabiot. PSG might be the last team in need of a helping hand, the midfielder feeding Neymar whose ruthless, raking low shot finished in off the far post.
Neymar looks to the sky after putting Paris Saint-Germain into the lead in front of a packed crowd at the Parc des Princes
Verratti looked delighted to have seen his team-mate Neymar net a second as PSG completed the comeback to go 2-1 ahead
Cavani scores PSG’s third goal as Gordon dives but can’t get near it; by this point, the home side were making their mark
Within minutes Lustig was off. Bitton entered the fray in defence, but the gameplan which worked so well in the opening minutes was gone. So, in essence, were Celtic.
Dembele continued to pose an attacking threat, coming in off the left flank. A lay-off to Ntcham in 21 minutes ended in a fizzing shot flying inches wide. For Celtic it was akin to a last hurrah.
Within two minutes Neymar had played a quick one two with Marco Verratti, thrashing a piercing left-foot finish into the same corner he placed the first. Craig Gordon had no chance.
It was natural, now, to fear the worst. To suspect this was becoming the night Celtic always feared.
The Uruguayan striker looked delighted as he celebrates with Neymar after netting his 150th goal for Paris Saint-Germain
Bitton prepares to jump but can’t stop Mbappe’s shot as the Frenchman finds the top corner with his shot on 35 minutes
By the time Mbappe celebrated, PSG were already running away with the game and the youngster’s strike made it 4-1
Cavani scraped the post with a left-foot volley. He was merely marking time before claiming his 150th goal for PSG in 29 minutes. It’s doubtful he’s scored any easier, an Alves cross towards the back post headed back across goal for the Uruguayan to finish from point-blank range.
PSG’s fourth came in 35 minutes. A booking for Simunovic resulted in a free kick calamitously defended and easily finished by an unmarked Mbappe. As in Glasgow, Celtic had been comprehensively undone before half-time.
The name of the game, now, was damage limitation.
Gordon produced his first save of the game to prevent Mbappe making it five before the interval. The whistle of Greek referee Tasos Sidiropoulos could hardly come quick enough.
Neymar gets Mbappe in a headlock as Alves slaps his head during the celebrations following PSG’s fourth goal in Paris
Verratti fires through bodies to find the bottom left-hand corner, making it a fantastic five for Paris Saint-Germain at home
Verratti roared with delight as PSG made the most of Celtic’s abject defending to increase their Group B goal difference
Credit where it’s due. Celtic knuckled down. They dug deep.
They might even have claimed a second goal in 55 minutes, Brown breaking clear on the right before firing a first time ball towards Dembele in the middle. One goal was unexpected, two proved beyond him. A wild effort flayed wide of the post.
There was a rare appearance for Kouassi Eboue in place of Ntcham in 68 minutes.
Yet Celtic spent the closing stages running on empty.
More comic-book defending from an Mbappe cut-back fell perfectly for Verratti to thrash the fifth goal low into the bottom corner.
Cavani had earlier scored his 150th goal for PSG, but there was still time for the 151st – and his 21st of the season for PSG
Cavani has been in excellent form for club and country this season and managed to net a second despite an elbow injury
Alves scored the pick of the bunch late on in the match, letting rip from 20 yards out to find the left-hand corner of the net
The final 15 minutes were watched through the cracks of the fingers.
Cavani smashed a magnificent volley in off the base of the post from a Layvin Kurzawa cross missed by Kieran Tierney.
It was seven within a minute, Alves thrashing a 20-yard shot past a static, flailing Gordon.
PSG have now broken the record for goals in a Champions League group, scoring 24. Precisely half of that total has come against Celtic.
Celtic’s record defeat in all competitions remains an 8-0 loss to Motherwell in April 1937. Shipping seven goals to Barcelona and PSG in an increasingly divided tournament raises an obvious danger now. One day, soon, an 80-year record could go.
Alves creates a love-heart with his hands to celebrate his goal – and PSG’s seventh – in the hammering of Celtic on Wednesday
A battered, bruised and beaten Celtic team trudge from the Parc des Princes pitch after losing 7-1 against Neymar and Co

Your Friday Morning Roundup
The Flyers won’t go 82-0-0. The season is over.
They were shut out by the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 thanks to goals by Trevor Lewis and Tyler Toffoli. The Flyers outshot the Kings 35-27, but Jonathan Quick played a stellar game against a possibly fatigued Philadelphia squad.
The team’s power play looked great Wednesday night, going 3 for 5 on the extra man opportunities. They went 0 for 5 last night. Plenty of chances, but nothing to come out of it.
The only highlight of the night came from a nice glove save by Michal Neuvirth late in the first period:
Hey yo. http://pic.twitter.com/INy52rbZsj
— Chris Jastrzembski (@CFJastrzembski) October 6, 2017
Anthony will have his thoughts of the game later today. The Flyers play Anaheim Saturday night at 10 p.m., Another late start.
Also, the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 10-1. Ten goals..
The Roundup:
Take a listen to the latest Crossing Broadcast to start your day.
The Eagles continue to prep for Arizona on Sunday, and Malcolm Jenkins continues to prep to possibly cover Larry Fitzgerald. Jenkins likes how Fitzgerald focuses on the details of his play:
“He’s still doing the small things, the humble things, like blocking – not only DBs, but linebackers, D-ends, he does that and he does it well,” Jenkins said Thursday.
“He’s fun to watch. I’ve watched him since he was at Pitt. He’s a friend of mine, and he’s had a great career,” Jenkins said. “That’s one of the matchups I look forward to. … I’ve known him since I came into the league, we’ve trained together.”
Patrick Robinson has been very solid as the Eagles’ nickel corner, so it’s hard to say how much of Fitzgerald that Jenkins will see this week. But the Cards often use four receivers, which definitely could bring Jenkins into play.
One of Alshon Jeffery’s disappointments has been his lack of catching “jump balls.”
Even though he had a very good preseason, rookie Derek Barnett is beginning to experience his NFL growing pains. Jim Schwartz agrees:
“He’s had his ups and downs like a lot of rookies have,’’ defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. “But I thought he played an improved game against the Chargers, as opposed to the week before.
“He was a factor in the pass game. He made a great play on that draw. That’s a hard play to defend and he tackled him for a loss.
“He’s had very few missed assignments. I don’t want to give gold stars for that because that’s what’s expected of him. But I think that’s also a good sign coming from a rookie that’s getting significant playing time, particularly in some key situations.’’
The good news: Tim Jernigan returned to practice. The bad news: Fletcher Cox, Wendell Smallwood, and Ronald Darby did not.
Joel Embiid participated in 5-on-5 drills during yesterday’s practice. This is good. He hopes he’s close to playing soon:
“I think I have a pretty good chance, looking at it,” Embiid said. “I felt good today and we’ll see how my body reacts. I would like to play preseason because I think last year it helped me get in a bit of a groove. I haven’t played since January and this is the most I’ve done since January, so I was extremely rusty today.”
Embiid said he hopes conversations about returning to the floor are a two-way street.
“It’s on the medical staff and I trust them,” he said. “But at the same time, I have a voice too. I think they value my opinion. It’s about us being on the same page. If I feel good and I’m able to play, they’re going to let me play. I want to be out there obviously. I wish I was out there yesterday and I wish I was out there tomorrow. Maybe next week I’ll have a chance. We have to work together.”
Meanwhile, two national personalities rip on the Sixers.
Markelle Fultz is a bust, per Twitter.
Sixers take on the Celtics tonight at 7 on NBC Sports Philadelphia. In case you missed Wednesday’s preseason opener, Kevin has you caught up.
The Phillies are serious contenders for adding Giancarlo Stanton, along with two other teams, according to Jon Heyman:
The Giants, Cardinals and Phillies were confirmed by sources as the “most aggressive” pursuers of Stanton this summer. Given Stanton’s remark to FanRag that he “won’t rebuild,” it’s time to take another look at which teams the Marlins could target for a trade.
2. Phillies. They have the position players to make a deal, with depth in the middle of the infield and prospects at many positions, though they are quite a bit thinner in the pitching department. The Phillies seem loaded with spending loot thanks to a rich TV deal, and seem primed to go for it. However, they were an also-ran this year, may be at least a year away and can ill-afford to give up any pitching.
The team is also in a weird spot in terms of free agency and possibly extending Aaron Nola to a long-term deal.
Rhys Hoskins went through the ESPN carwash yesterday:

Matt Stairs helped the Phillies improve on offense this year. But it may not matter with a new manager coming to town.
St. Joe’s Athletic Director Don DiJulia will step down from his role as AD and vice president of the university at the end of current school year.
In other sports news, the Patriots squeezed by the Buccaneers 19-14. Nick Folk missed all three field goal attempts for Tampa Bay. He got compared to Roberto Aguayo, as expected.

Ex-Flyers goaltender Ray Emery was arrested for assault on his ex-fiancee.
I love Larry David:
Al Michaels: Your Jets are doing great.
Larry David: Oh god, please! What’s wrong with them!
Dan Patrick: Wait no, you won two games!
LD: No I don’t wanna win any games! I’m sick about this.
DP: What if I can give you Josh Rosen at UCLA or Sam Darnold. Which quarterback do you want with the Jets?
LD: I gotta go with the Jew (Rosen).
I don’t love Rick Pitino. He took roughly 98% of the money from Louisville’s current deal with Adidas. That expires July 1. Louisville’s football team also lost to NC State last night.
Detroit’s motto is “Hockeytown.” They’ve used it since the mid 90s. Explain how Detroit is a hockey town for me:

They can’t even sell out their new arena on opening night. How the mighty have fallen.
We might not see Lionel Messi in the FIFA World Cup. Sixth place Argentina has one game left to at least force a playoff match against New Zealand. They have to finish fifth for that to happen.
In the news, Amazon could be buying a South Jersey airport as they continue to search for their new headquarters, according to PhillyVoice:
A deal for the small Millville Executive Airport in Cumberland County by Amazon could create some strong synergy and enhance Camden’s bid to host the retailer’s HQ2 goes the logic.
Having its own dedicated transit hub in South Jersey could influence Amazon to choose Camden, according to Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr.
Netflix is raising prices on their plans.
A Japanese reporter died from heart failure after working 159 hours of overtime. He was 31. The guy thought that was okay to do? 159 hours didn’t seem a little too much? I love the guy’s hustle, but maybe hustle responsibly.
