Why do many people hate furries ? Do they think they are the same as those who are into actual animals sexually ? I am really confused, I am not furry myself but I see hate

I really believe furries to be one of the most misunderstood groups out there, and they receive more online hate than most other groups I’ve ever seen. There’s been chemical attacks at hotels where the reporters watching furs being loaded into ambulances are cracking up because a couple of them have costumes on. Furries have basically become a meme, a representation of the “degeneracy” that the far right have been talking about for decades. People who despise furries would also despise trans and gay people if socially acceptable. But let’s be honest, finding a furry hater who is fine with trans people is a /challenge/

These dumbasses couldn’t understand a concept being socially constructed (for example, gender and what is considered ‘normal’ non furry behavior) if you hit them over the head with the definition of a sports team. Furry hate should be seen as hate directed at the generally different and LGBT groups.

As for the sexual themes, it is easy to see how someone who knows /nothing/ of the furry fandom could think furries = bestiality or fursuit fucking. However, anyone who spends even a couple minutes researching the topic would understand that’s not the case. But, assholes on the internet will refuse to accept that fact because thinking of us as degenerate animal fuckers makes it a lot easier to throw chemicals at us.

TL;DR:

It ties in with general gay/trans/sexually different hate, it’s all the same people, and anyone who tries to make the argument that furries are all into bestiality is acting in bad faith 99% of the time, they know what they are doing.
