A little comic about Klavier finding out about Kristophs verdict on tour.

Ramble at the end:

MAN how much I love the Gavin brothers, thinking and writing about their relationship. In my mind this is how Klavier interprets their relationship from the beginning to the bitter end - as Kristoph was all he knew and all he had in his life for many years.

It doesn't mean that Kristoph was a perfect brother to him, no, not at all. Klavier had felt so dependent on him, his opinions matter so much to him - he wouldn't even notice his brother taking advantage of him until a long, long time later.

I like to think that Phoenix didn’t necessarily suspect Kristoph at the start of the 7 year gap. Phoenix gets disbarred while Edgeworth is away, he has to suddenly care for this 8 year old girl, he’s got a lot on his mind and suddenly the brother of the guy who disbarred him offers his support. Phoenix is a trusting individual, I think he took that support.

I think the realization hits him in a flash, maybe three years into the gap. Edgeworth is visiting, he’s sitting on the couch when he hears a loud crash. He rushes over to see Phoenix sitting on the floor, the remains of a broken dish surrounding him. He looks dazed, lost in thought, horrified. Edgeworth tries to get his attention, grabbing his arms to help him up. Edgeworth asks Phoenix what happened. Phoenix’s head snaps upward to Edgeworth, looking him dead in the eye.

“It was Kristoph.”

and then he understands.

#ace attorney #I've thought this moment out in detail I think it's such a CONCEPT #I think phoenix trusts Kristoph likely because of situations like Iris and Dahlia.#Iris and Dahlia despite being twin sisters are extremely different. Iris could be trusted when Dahlia could not #the Gavin brothers mirror this #Phoenix thinking that Kristoph is the Iris. But he's actually the Dahlia.
