While one girl applies makeup her friend collects mica, a mineral commonly used in makeup. In 2023 Hopare created this allegory on Fannin St in downtown Houston, addressing the connections between child labor and consumption and the contradictions of modern society. The mural is one of more than two dozen large works curated by @StreetArtMankind around Houston as part of its "Big Art, Bigger Change" project—bringing beauty to the city while also promoting social and environmental justice. In little more than a decade French artist Alexandre Monteiro, aka Hopare, has become an important figure in urban art, adding his poignant visual statements across the global stage.

Street Art for Mankind Exhibition in Miami  - A World-First Artistic Movement to Stop Child Slavery

Street  Art  for  Mankind  settles  in  Miami  to  make  a stand for the children of our community.  From February 10th to 20th, a new exhibition comes to Little River Miami, to open the eyes of the world on the tragic reality of child labor and child slavery. 

35 street artists from all over the world will unite in Miami to create unique and monumental paintings. Working  together,  and  reviving  the  surrealist  technique  of  the  30’s,  they  invite  us  to  discover  a masterpiece maze made out 65 murals set-up on two stories. They commit their Art from the street for the  children  of  the  streets,  to  provide  us  with a path  to  a  more  child-friendly  world.  Funds  raised  (via ticketing  and  the  sales  of  the  arts)  will  benefit  the  foundation  of  the  Nobel  Peace  Prize  winner  Kailash Satyarthi, especially the raid and rescues activities along with the creation of child friendly villages. 

This powerful exhibition will be an opportunity for all to make a stand through Art; and for art lovers and families to have fun. A unique opportunity to discover 30 incredibly talented artists and learn how to graff with them; discover a Nobel Peace Prize winner and understand the reality of child forced labor; make a stand for all children of our community and send messages of hope to the world. 

The opening of the Street Art for Mankind event will take place at 6PM on Friday February 10th in Little River. It will gather Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, Super-intendant Carvalho, Commissioner Gort, the winning students of the SAM Art contest, the street artists of SAM and the Miami community around  a  unique  exhibition. Discover  an  unprecedented  and  gigantic  street  art  masterpiece.  And experience  spectacular  performances  from  Jon  Saxx,  voted Best  Local  Jazz  Artist  in  South  Florida  by Miami  New  Times,  and  with  the  Miami  Freerunning  Academy  specialized  in  Parkour.  The  cocktail  is sponsored by Villa Azur and Barton&Guestier.

Sunday, February 19th: 

A very British children’s day in partnership with Britweeks, featuring artists Inkie and Britto, and bands WYK and Little Dreamers.

Live  auction  of  all  the  Arts  to  save  children.  Auction  conducted by  Barbara Strongin, former Christie’s senior auctioneer and internationally known auctioneer trainer.

Picking up the Fauvist mantle of a century ago Paris artist Jo Di Bona has created a style he labels pop graffiti—a unique layering of collage and brightly colored painting transforming the urban landscape and delighting a rapidly expanding fan base. @streetartmankind — a street art movement battling child trafficking, and for whom Di Bona has been a regular partner — calls his portraits "filled with poetry, emotions, and joie de vivre." Street Art for Mankind started this global awareness campaign in order to make a stand for the rights of all children to a childhood. 

This piece from KINMX illustrate the very sad story of Rani who spent six years in the Great Indian Circus until her release last month. She and the other children would be beaten for making mistakes at rehearsal or during the three daily performances.
