hey i get linguistics is cool and all but dont u think ur MAAYYYYBE fundamentally missing the point of that post and actively detracting from the conversation at hand
My bad for seeing this two weeks late, but I genuinely no longer know what this was referring too.
Knowing me I probably just went on a tangent and forgot my main point, so whatever it was it’s probably just cool to ignore.
Sorry about that!
(Edit: I have Timestamps on, so if this was any of you guys, the ask is from December, 27th, 2023.
Like I said to Elle, this has about the same context to me as a receipt in the pocket of the jacket I wore to Christmas Dinner.
But, to clear up tone: if I genuinely make someone upset by misunderstanding something, I don’t WANT to make someone upset.
If I don’t know what this is, that means I don’t know what to apologize for or do better at, and it was something important enough to someone for them to ask me not to do it, so that IS something I’d like to do or at least pinpoint enough to make a safety tag for if it’s an issue I don’t want to back down from so this person doesn’t have to see my potential shit takes.
This IS intended as a genuine apology for not checking my asks.)

What stories are you writing right now? (Hi I adore you and would like to talk)
dkjgdhgkd you are always welcome to talk to me everyone who knows me also knows i simply cannot shut the fuck up amen
i hop around in my wips constantly but i can sort them into two categories:
actively being written (2): one is a fluffy little oneshot about dancing set shortly after the war, and the other is the most deranged omegaverse peen i've ever written that's been a background task for six months courtesy of a very unhinged discord conversation back in like... may lmao. the former is half done and i think it will be 7-10k, the latter is sitting at 27k and counting although the draft is nearly done. can't believe i'm gonna have to chapter my pwp, who am i lmao
plotted but unwritten (6): a modern AU pwp where gaara's a lawyer and lee's the hot client from hell, a canonverse fluff fic told from tons of POVs where i casually shit on almost all the canon endgame relationships ay lmao, another self-indulgent metal origin theory fic, a comedy 5+1 things about drunken shenanigans, a fluffy 5+1 things about sleep, and the rest of from these bones, untethered which was/is my gaalee horrorfest 2022 fic
i am also slowly putting together the worldbuilding and character information for an enemies to lovers sort-of-political-longfic based around the plot of my favourite video game!
and then there's 10 other ideas that i've done nothing with yet sjdbgkdfhgbfdg

1,3,19,25 for the writing meme if you please?
i certainly do please, my dear skuun!
1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?
there’s a lot. i need to figure out a lot of things about blackbird before i go back to it; i’m still not quite the writer i need to be in order to tackle the secret life of trees; i need at least six weeks in dublin to write big guns. you know, little stumbling blocks like that. the stories are there, but they’re not ALL there.
3) what order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?
i tried to write a non-chronological story once. halfway through the plotting i gave up and wrote it front to back. i just can’t think in any order but chronological, and if i bounce around in the book while i’m writing it it makes editing later very much more difficult. i also find i never end up writing the boring bits if i let myself jump straight to the good stuff, but the good stuff also isn’t as good as it is if i have the entire story behind it, so it does me no favours to write out of order.
19) when it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?
any way i have to, and usually written down. i had a two-month calendar for encore to make sure i scheduled everything at the right times and knew when all their rehearsals were. i had an 8k outline for shadowplay. i bought a copy of scrivener when i decided i was going to for-real sit down and write a novel, because i now have it plotted out in excruciating detail to make writing it faster when i manage to sit down and do it. i have files of pictures and stacks of notes. i have floorplans for apartments and houses and studios. and i save all my chat convos because that’s where i do my best work in terms of figuring out who these people are. but i am thinking about them pretty much all of the time so it keeps the information fresh.
25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud of
here’s a chunk out of ch8, where my protagonist jason is having a quiet night in with his guitar:
He kicked his feet up on the couch and twisted to lay down with his head on the arm behind him. Eve lay heavy on his belly, and he cradled her loosely, fingering a ten-note riff, over and over - a little musical question without an answer - a dangling hook, unbaited. He’d catch nothing with it. But he liked it anyway. It was doing its best, he thought, and sat up enough to finish his drink and pour himself more. Just like him, it was, this little bit of song: no good on its own, and yet, maybe, part of something worthwhile, even if it hadn’t quite found where it fit.

Do you have a current media obsession you could talk about for hours?
I can infodump about many things for many hours. 😬
Really, the trick if you’re a poorly socialized ascended feral paper genius is finding people who ask you and mean it, and then not scaring them off by actually talking for hours. (Unless they’re down. A good chunk of my friends are also neurodivergent so this is basically a love language if you’re certain brands of that.)
Dungeon Meshi’s the one that’s ongoing and is pretty standard right now. The fandom’s booming. The worldbuilding’s excellent. The characters are fun and have excellent development. The dubbed voice acting (for me) is ideal. And the anime-only people are barely even at the tip of the iceberg for how the series is going to escalate.
The reason I can keep up with dungeon meshi/Delicious in Dungeon though is because it releases weekly with a single episode. I have trouble sitting down and just…watching TV.
Left to my own devices my streaming is pretty much all anime and cooking shows.
If media includes books, though, Locked Tomb Series also has really excellent characters and worldbuilding. It’s been marketed as “lesbian necromancers in space” but that makes it sound like a Young Adult Fiction and it’s. Not. As a series, it’s done in such a way where you kind of have to go back and reread it and recontectualize the dialogues—even the background ones. And it has some of the most wonderfully written unreliable narration I’ve ever seen. It’s a series DESIGNED for rereading, even, I’d say. (Which is always a plus if you’re the kind of person who reads a book in three hours and is prone to rereading.)
I also really like the Murderbot Diaries. That’s a bit shorter. It’s a series of sci-fi novellas centering around a… constructed human? It’s pretty hard to explain what Murderbot actually is without context on the series. But the protag’s an Agender artificially created security unit with some human parts and human intelligence and paranoia who’s hacked the chip in its head that tells it to follow orders.
The storylines are simpler, so mostly what I’m enjoying is it’s first person POV being Narrated by Murderbot itself with all its scathing commentary about everything.
There’s a really delightful audiobook of All Systems Red, the first Novella, if that’s more your speed than sitting down with a book.
Or. You know.
I did actually sit down with my sister and her fiancé and talk about Star Wars for about four hours yesterday. But that’s pretty standard for me when I find Star Wars People. Good times.

alrighty i'm heading to bed but:
most recent movie or book you enjoyed
most head-bangingest song to rock out to when alone at home and you just need to pretend to be a rock star
I hope you sleep well!
I think Trek asked something similar and I mentioned that…a lot of the stuff I watch is cooking related? So a lot of the books I read also tend to be cookbooks.
The best one I was going through recently was probably Alan Bergo’s Forager’s book of Flora.
(It looks like this.)
Tumblr media
I have about the same trouble you do with this kind of thing probably because most foraging books are written presuming temperate climates and I’m…in the subtropics.
He has recipes, flavor profiles, and just a lot of neat workable tips (like a full guide on how to make acorn flour—which is a PROCESS.)
But he’s also sensitive to the seasonal availability of things so most of the guides are suggestions or have alternate non-foraged options for making stuff.
It’s a really interesting read, and also probably the last book I checked out from the library and liked so much I went out and bought my own copy.
As for rocking out in my home…lol. I like the Hu same as you. And my kitchen playlist is usually divorced dad classic rock or James Brown and not much in between. Makes things feel more exciting and also gets less objection from other people walking in if I’m not doing it with headphones on. (Rare.)
On my absolute own?
Haggard.
Which…has a strange combination of baroque/medieval music and. Well. Metal. (Most people know them for their Italian cover of Herr Mannelig.)
It’s almost impossible to get this album anywhere for streaming in the states, so. I have it on a CD and sometimes set up with that.

14. What do you like about this WIP?
15. What about this WIP is pissing you off?
Dangerous question.
What do I like? I love worldbuilding. I come out of sci-fi, and chances are if you hand me a trope I’m going to sit down and be the guy going “okay but what would be the implications of this being common and known and how would that change this particular setting.”
I can’t help it. That and dialogue are usually the two things people actually read my shit for and enjoy.
Which goes in with the next question because
“What do I hate?”
Well, Senpai, I hate that my WIP is fucking Omegaverse.

Skuun! I absolutely must know the following:
what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?
28. last meal on earth?
Judge Judy watch tapping gif, etc.
Okay so the local aquarium for us usually gets hit for the Manatees—not something most aquariums have to be sure. Kind of one of the stereotypical Florida Things.
But see, if you do enough Everglades trips (which I have. My sister has a degree in one of the environmental sciences, and our ecosystem here is pretty wild.) you kind of get plenty of chances to see things like the Local Diving Birds and Herons, lizards by the handful (Iguanas like sweet cereal), plenty of Gar, Plenty of Alligators, and (in winter), Manatees. There are airboat tours all over the place. Not to mention there’s plenty of chances to do like. Actual skindiving off the reefs and see random wild fish for yourself. (Which I’ve also done. They like to stare. It’s pretty funny.)
I’m also within biking distance of a really nice little nature preserve with some mangroves, and no-permit-needed blue crab catching in season.
But the one thing you can’t do there that you can do in an Aquarium?
Pet some motherfucking stingrays.
Stingrays are the thing for me at an aquarium.
As for last meal?
…One with good company.
I don’t think there’s more to ask for.

hi~ for the ask game! 7 what is a fun fact about a thing you need to research? hope u have a good day <3
Mm. So earlier in the week in the Glugchat, someone asked about something that lead to me describing a modern Galatea AU.
(Greek myth: man is devoted to Aphrodite and tries to make a statue of her out of marble. He falls in love with the statue. Really falls in love with it. The worship given and the devotion are both enough that the goddess grants the statue the gift of life, and the artist, Pygmalion, gets the Perfect Woman.)
Idea for this was, grubby college art student sets out to bitterly make a statue of the perfect man, only to have a mutual friend drag a friend in, mortifying them both because HEY DOESN’T THAT NAKED STATUE LOOK KINDA LIKE YOU???? (Cue mortification, and eventual development of a dumb mutual pine between a grievously injured man learning to be okay with the changes to his body, and said grubby artist’s ideals absolutely changing to imprint on the new, real muse.)
Chat was super supportive and astonishingly behind this which means another back burner fic needs to come out of the works.
The reason it was on back burner was because my own practical skill with clay never extended to anything beyond the size of a human head. Something like that you just hollow out and you don’t have to negotiate kiln size, weight distribution, balance, or potential long term cracking on.
I need to research how to make a life sized human figure out of clay, classically proportioned, doing a Bruce Lee high kick without it falling, exploding, or losing limbs because of weight support. Let alone where there’s a kiln big enough to work with that kind of scope of a piece.
It’s this or I have to research how marble works, but my own sculpting relatives never did anything much bigger than repurposed grave marble could provide.
And the eventual finished piece has to have mixed media elements to allow for either glass or stones to represent scarring, plus the building and molding of a full prosthetic leg for the statue.
It’s frustratingly technical stuff I no longer have access to.

i have a question that ive been thinking about for a while
Whats ur favorite pokemon?👀
I have several plushes so all of them get honorary talks. (So I have Squire the Cubone, Soup the Sobble, and Heelies the Helioptile. With Azula the Torchic, Whippet the Bulbasaur, and Red the charmander in storage.)
If you were fighting me as a gym leader though I’d be one of those asshole gym leaders who makes you do a double battle with Pants the Slowking and Wonderboy the Rhydon so I can check out your Pokémon teamwork dynamics. (I LOVE Rhydon and Slowking. But that’s because these are the two I raised together in my Go team.)
I used to have a whole six slot team planned out for if you wanted to get a badge off me, so you’d have to use all your own six team slots, and my Pokémon tend to be tricky things that cover one another’s gaps and weaknesses. (I know my second tier involved Nanii, my Sceptile. Who’s named for @naniiebim —the person who created my icons here and on discord.)
Let’s see…
I LOVE Wobbuffet and Makuhita.
My favorite legendary hands down is Raikou because Raikou is freaking chill as shit. (Oh, you’re an ex team rocket member who’s an electric trainer? I choose you to wield my power. And if it changes you for the better then I’m going to pretend not to notice. Oh, there’s a salon maiden who’s also a trainer? Free hair care and nails done? Yeah I’m good with this. SO. CHILL.) but also because it’s the first legendary I ever caught in Go. (Not for lack of trying.)
And I caught mine RIGHT after hurricane Irma.
(My Raikou is still named Irma. And I have a Raikou pin I sometimes wear at work with a little Wizard!Kakashi next to it.)
I bond with my pixels in a normal way. I am very normal. 😐
I haven’t done anything for the later generations because I don’t have a switch. It’ll trickle into Journeys or into Go and I’ll develop favorites then.
You uh. Might have to narrow down by type and watch me explode about my favorite ones in Go. ^^;;;;

what does wee lees yes mean? I've always wondered
Hey, anon!
Wee Lees Yes is up in my bio as my safe/encouragement tag. It started out after I joined a Rock Lee Discord and found out it was…mostly teenagers. XD
After a bit of fluster and asking them if it was still okay for me to be there, we became friends.
Broad ranges of age groups aren’t that uncommon among my friends. My oldest friend is Ninety and I’ve known her since I was about eighteen. My youngest friends are about sixteen. Plenty of people my age have children, and some of them are teens by now, and it just…kind of happens when you mostly hang in niche groups by interest, or do stuff as groups in places where your families are. The kids join in or the parents join in pretty organically if you tabletop game or do board games. (I’ve got like. Two seventy year olds I follow on tumblr and their fandom posts or crafting posts are always *Really Interesting*. Different generations consume content and produce content in different ways but that’s…digressing.)
Since I used to have a cluster of minors following me, I started making a tag specifically for them full of Safe Things.
Usually these involved animals (like capybaras—usually chilling in the presence of other animals. Which seems to be…my designated symbol on the part of the Wee Lees.) or useful life posts of things I wish I’d had when I was a teen or…dad jokes. (Because I’m “Dad”. Which is…another long story.)
The three remaining Wee Lees, Frange, Alu, and Nino are all in their twenties now, but I still have all the infrastructure for encouraging posts or…posts that would be safe for a minor to follow if they stumbled on my blog and wanted a hand-tailored tag that’s safe for them.
It’s…basically rooted in the same reason my unsafe tag is “Wee Lees No” and not one of the more common unsafe tags.
Tumblr over the years has had a habit of deleting or restricting certain tags, so I wanted to be sure a less safe tag would still be searchable but also very clearly marked so people could avoid OR seek it out. (Tagging things as NSFW for a while meant they didn’t show up at all.)
I also trigger tag things by request so sometimes you see a whole tag for something like “Not Safe For Cams” in addition to “tw: arachnophobia” because the viability of the more commonly used tags fluctuates depending on current censorship on the site.
Redundancy tends to keep people safe when you don’t know if you can trust something common, but unusual tagging also gives people the option to consume content without necessarily following me as long as they understand my intentions and want what the tag has to offer.
It also means people don’t have to reveal their ages or personal info for me if they’re just trying to take or consume what they want. Because…I’m from that kind of generation of internet safety, and I’m really not that reliable at bio-checking anyway.

name five things that are NOT going to happen next
Since this is for a fic ask:
For my current project:
1) I know there is NOT going to be an on-screen extended family barbecue no matter how funny it would be to write after threatening it. It must be implied. Just as it has to be implied the protag is maybe just going to it to pick a fight on behalf of another friend’s feelings just to Feel Useful. (She did not ask him to do this and may or may not even notice.)
2) A man is NOT going to sneak in through the window and spend a night in his best friend’s hospital room in front of his traumatized kids. He is going to continue to be bottled up about his feelings. Becoming The Ninja President Is Not Going To Change This.
3) The world is NOT going to suddenly become nicer to the subtly queer couple that got married during the war, even if the other half of it wakes up in said same hospital. But the people still asleep are going to slowly begin to wake up.
4) The team is NOT going to be invited to a funeral where they burn the body of their teammate—in fact there will be no funeral for him. The structure that gave him no glory and no hope in life will continue to stand, and there’s nothing at all that the protagonist can do about it but grieve and continue to grieve.
5) Our Hero is NOT going to stop his first crush from completing a mission everyone failed at five years before. He’s going to let her go. As he lets her go, he lets go of The Dream.

4) Are there any writers that inspire you?
Kel, I know you probably want a shout-out of accessible big fandom names or to maybe hear your own here, but I also think you’ve fundamentally forgotten I majored in English. XDDDDDDD
There’s Pratchett and Palahniuk by the crate in my car for easy access, and LeGuin by my bed. And I think Garth Nix builds things that you can picture in cinematic detail and reconstructs from the brick up, and honestly I’d be hard pressed to find a modern writer that I think does a better job of that.
I own literal boxes full of short stories and novels I wanted to teach from to give people ideas about what’s possible with imagery, characterization, pacing, and detailing out parts of it…still hurt.
I used to have a stack of things to reread every summer, and those things are packed up in a box so I don’t have to try to process the grief. (I’m probably…going to try to go through parts of those boxes across my vacation in two weeks. I’ve been trying to go through some of those boxes for ten years.!
My background’s mostly classic sci fi and pulps. Both of which usually have safely dead or inaccessible authors. And the styles of those are greatly at odds with what you can produce in a fan setting. (You can pull An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge every time for forty thousand words if you like, and people will eat it up if it’s to their taste.)
Editors exist not just to catch your grammar mistakes but to market your work and make your work marketable. Market style changes. The definition of what makes a novel has changed even in just a handful of centuries.
I don’t write half as well as the things I admire. And the people I do admire in fandom usually know I admire them already.
You don’t have to curtail love letters for brevity, and the best fan works exist as love letters. Maybe not to the creator of the work, but to the others around us who make our ideas and happiness possible.
But I think the ones that probably don’t know they inspire me greatly are “my kids” starting out, just beginning to grapple with the enormous excitement of their ideas.
When that’s allowed to express itself freely, I think it’s the best thing in the world.
A lot of my work isn’t designed with accessibility for children (and for good reasons) but… seeing them writing freely (two of them in a language I can barely recognize words of, and one at something they’re alarmed by wanting to write) is really the biggest reason I wanted to make or engage with anything.
So I appreciate anything that lets me get glimpses of that without having to engage with the enormity of my grief at the loss of a constant source of that.
Fandom’s usually a good place for that.
12) Tell us about any WIPs you’re excited about?
Again, I know what you’re reaching for. XD
If I can get the Thanksgiving fic going, then great. If I can get Hole Time up in time to play a spectacular fandom joke, then great.
But really, I just would be very happy with myself if I could get chapter five (“I’m a vegetarian”) up for my Soulmates AU.
Thanksgiving/“TWO POTAT” is just me having to write another awkward dinner party after having struggled to finish a first awkward dinner party. Everyone seems excited about how in love the characters are when I send them roughs.
Descriptions of upcoming chapter for souls:
“So this retired living weapon is in a kitchen with his boyfriend’s anxious son, who’s maybe just begun to realize his dad’s dating said living weapon/the ex-president of a foreign country he has a trading card of. Said weird living weapon is trying to bond with him by offering him whitebait to eat. It’s not working.
Politics of a clan are hinted at through body piercing.
Naruto and Gaara have a crotchety old man bromance.
Gaara clapbacks a twenty-year-old and receives a pot.
Rock Lee keeps repotting every weed Gaara digs up in his garden, and Gaara is exasperatedly in love with him for it but also What About The Water Waste Lee.
Suna’s former Kazekage is coaxed into taking a nice bath.”
16) Guilty Pleasure tropes?
Yeah. So. I’m not burdened with an excess of guilt about what I like. I worry about offending people or triggering people and that’s about it. I mostly just struggle with how to tag safely.
I feel like maybe fewer people know I like Shibari, but as above, I just really like the idea of any kind of hand-tailored custom craft that may or may not take an element of trust. So I like it about the same amount as I’d probably like. I dunno, people sharing a hotpot together, or making bread, or pottery, or…you know. Whatever.
(“Any sort of attentive in-depth learning about something precious to a given person.”
“You have a bespoke kink.”
“I guess. Something like that. But general.”)
27) The nicest comment you ever received?
“Nicest” is hard. A lot of people write very nice comments.
@requirings recently went through my fics one by one and left comments. I get so few comments I think it took me a month to even realize what they’d done and it just made me so Warm inside because it was such a sweet and genuine gesture, and it’s one I can barely repay because of my crippling fear of. Being seen. Having my stuff be up there permanently and being kept like some kind of receipt for a future witch-hunt.
(Not because I’ve done anything like. Inherently or specifically wrong. But because I know very well that you don’t have to do anything “wrong” it can just be enough to be different and it’ll be someone else’s “wrong” if they can manufacture power out of it.)
I made friends with @marquiseoniongirl at all when she was an anonymous commenter on my personal livejournal, commenting sweetly on my crackfic. To call that “nice” is an understatement because I probably owe being able to be alive at all to her and maybe a handful of other friends I made for the first time in my life.
I can write anything remotely spicy at all because of the breakthrough that was @skinks showing up in my inbox talking about how HOT they found what I’d written, after months and months of grappling to try to make a different fic sound consensual—not because the material wasn’t consenting, but because my default state when dealing with…something other people find quite normal is disgust at worst and indifference-to-methodical-scientific-interest at best.
That my default state when writing spice at all has been a massive struggle, and even when I try to be up front about that, I’m not sure many people know it know it. Because I spent literal years learning how to mask it and retexture it so it comes off “right”.
Sometimes you get a comment that isn’t even intended to be particularly “nice” or worldshaking but it makes you want to cry, because it means something worked.
So.
Once I wrote a spiritassassin fic that someone found Hot.
And they told me as much.
And I owe all my future works that had that kind of content probably to them.
Because that was a breakthrough. A massive breakthrough.
I owe full creations of works to offhand comments made by people. I owe happiness, and strength to get through some of my days to people’s offhand comments.
But I also don’t get to decide which comments, or if they’re people I get to have lasting lingering talk everyday friendships with or not.
Sometimes I don’t get to repay the enormity of what’s given.

For the fanfiction writers ask, #13, 14, and 30
13) What’s the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Star Wars.
I was taught to read adult level books at the age of eight with Star Wars Expanded Universe stuff. Packed up in my box of journals is the American Girl “My Story” notebook that contains the wheelchair-bound Mary Sue I tried to make. Wheelchair-bound because my dad also had me reading Asimov’s Foundation series, and Hari Seldon imprinted on me at a young age. Captain Nemo, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Hari Seldon were some of my earliest favorite characters and they all have a very specific “mastermind” type because that was really the only thing about me that was valued or praised.
My blog header says my Star Wars problem is old enough to buy drinks in American Bars. Phantom Menace came out when I was nine. You can do the math. I’ve been in Star Wars longer than the prequels have existed for. Middle school me was on Star Wars Forums when I could get on dial-up and see what other people were making or talking about.
I know for a fact I have a locked dollar store journal from when I was eleven that has Dragon Ball Z/Star Wars crossover fiction where Piccolo and Gohan are a Jedi master and apprentice. Honestly that probably still holds up pretty well as a concept.
Abs one of the remnants of my childhood is the humor self insert fic me and my then-best-friend (and now former roommate) wrote back and forth where we were apprentices of Maul and Kenobi respectively, then switched when we realized one of us wasn’t that bad, and the other kind of was. It remains a masterpiece, and she’s read it to her husband. (My other former roommate.)
None of my early works exist in an internet capacity probably. But the first thing I did online works for was probably Yu-Gi-Oh. In the early, no-filter, possibly create your own geocities site if you’re real dedicated, post on your livejournal days.
The one reassuring thought I have every time something I write for gets popular is that at least it will stay pretty safely buried except with a select few people that I then become friends with and follow across fandoms as their interests wiggle around.
14) What’s your favorite fandom to write for?
At risk of sounding trite: “uhhhhhh…whatever one I’m currently in?”
I come back to things as I feel like coming back to them, and have long since set aside any ideas of becoming a “real writer” (ie: successfully monetarizing my interests.)
This is a joy and vague connectivity exercise.
If the people I’m buddies with are acting up and trying to consume and smear mud on one another for fun and dubious internet cred, then it takes the joy out of the thing for me and I find another thing, keeping only the people I like and glancing at what they’re doing from time to time like I’m reading the morning paper.
I’ve “come back” to Star Wars about three times, seeing people around me excited and happy to play with the concepts of it.
I’m “currently in” Naruto, and am fairly happy seeing people play with different concepts in that.
Basically I find a work I like and it lives in my brain, unfolding ideas, and if I’m lucky, I find and connect with people who also have different things unfolding in their brains, and we talk excitedly, and become friends. And then when they find another thing they’re excited about, I go “oh. Looks interesting.” And check it out.
I’ve Uh. Held on to @marquiseoniongirl for almost twenty years like this. Across several social media platforms.
Apparently I’ve given her a My Hero Academia problem most recently. (It’s been a few years now.)
30) Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?
I’ve had a pretty set M.O. from the moment I started working online and that M.O. has never shied from angst.
“Suffering is the only thing that makes a moment of sweetness a real relief.”
Multiple fics of people holding one another in the dark probably indicates something there.

23 do you wear jewelry and 27 what’s your favorite or go-to outfit? for the asks!
I wear a lot of jewelry, but usually the same jewelry.
Like. Eight rings constantly when I’m not cooking or working on something that takes fine motor. And I have a bunch of bracelets from @marquiseoniongirl along with a bone mala that I wear daily for work, with flat elastics in discreet pride flag arrangements. (Discreet because I’m not standard rainbow, and because of where I live. Multiple people have looked at my pan one and asked if it’s a Colombian Flag.)
On days off I usually have cuffs with studs or spikes and may or may not wear my rings.
All this is…actually pretty calculated because I tend to bash my hands into the cans and things while working or grip around my wrists and…sometimes it’s tight enough to leave bruising without me noticing. It uh. Doesn’t look real great if I’ve got finger-mark bruising around my wrists when I’m working, you know? So I’ve found having something there kind of helps keep potentially awkward assumptions to a minimum.
Go-to outfits for me are pretty boring. I’ve had a mostly-black wardrobe since I was about fifteen. (Upsides: never sort your laundry and never worry much about weird stains.)
It’s usually sweatpants or joggers, with some kind of set of cutoffs so I don’t super overheat. And I wear boots year round. (Plastic ones during rainy season, and leather ones during drier days.)
…the upshot is my fashion taste is pretty much “comfortable eighties metal bandmate” and also “how many skulls can I fit on my person at any given moment.”

Someone hit me with 14 and 15 just before you did but I can establish some nice dad cred for number 13 here, which is “what’s a song that fits the current mood you need for this WIP”
And bro.
Bro.
