For anyone interested, both THLoE and OMMaM make up what I refer to as "The Generico!verse" due to the fact that the entire universe hinges on the singular notion that El Generico is NOT Sami Zayn and, in fact, Sami Zayn never existed in this universe, nor does Kevin Owens. There are only Steen and Generico in this universe and the stories are about the two of them meeting, falling in love, realizing they are in love, realizing how much they need each other, and really, just the two of them navigating the world together as best friends and eventual lovers, trying to get by despite their various neurodivergencies.

A close up of the Valentine's Day trading pin that Generico gets from Kevin. Yes, that's an actual pin from Valentine's Day 2009. No I didn't trace it, No I don't own a digital pen, Yes I did that with a mouse, and Yes I now want to throw that pin in a fire.
I hope to at some point do a Steen to match Generico, but give me time. This one took a lot out of me. I'll get to the dickhead eventually.

Mekal (or Mekar), the lord of Beth-Shean
I strongly hold that the Baal Cycle is not "Canaanite mythology." The Ugarites themselves identified Canaanites as "foreign people," and Mot, in particular, is strongly suspected to be a literary invention of Ilumilku, the scribe who wrote the Baal Cycle. To subsume the myths under the vague title of 'Canaanite mythology' is a disservice to Ugarit and its creativity, in my opinion.
So that naturally brought a question to mind: are there any Bronze Age deities who are distinctly Canaanite?
Enter Mekal/Mekar. A Fresh Look at the Mekal Stele (Levy 2018) introduces us to a deity who was attested in northern Palestine during the Bronze Age.

That "r" at the end of his name can be either an "r" or a Semitic "l", hence the Mekal/Mekar options for his name. And he's attested as the lord of Beth-Shean (or Bit-Shani, if you fancy the syllabic Akkadian transcription). How cool is that?
Some thoughts about this deity: his iconography is closely aligned with Baal's known iconography from the time period (which should make one wonder if there isn't some possible synchronization afoot, as if Seth-Baal wasn't strong enough evidence, lol), with one caveat: he has Resheph's headband. So some differences!
What I draw from that is Mekal/Mekar is a Baal-like deity but with some differences. In the Pantheon universe, thus, Mekal is primarily a vegetation god with some rain-bringing abilities, not a storm god proper. He doesn't have the weather manipulation capability that Baal does, but he's good at making flowers and helping agriculture grow!
Given the strong Egyptian influence here, Mekal strikes me as the type who really likes lotuses, too. Maybe he really looks forward to the few visits that Nefertem makes in the foreign northern lands? Well, assuming Sekhmet's willing to let him out...
Anyway, Beth-Shean is a major Egyptian administrative center in the Late Bronze Age, so Sutekh likely stops in Beth-Shean often before continuing onward to Gubla (Byblos), another Egyptian holding. Mekal, with his minimal attestation, seems like a very young god (and it's suspicious that he's not attested afterward). Perhaps he was educated in Kemet as a godling and then brought back to Beth-Shean to rule it, as the Egyptians were known for doing with foreign princes. Couldn't get him to get rid of the beard, though. Some cultural influences refuse to die.

Last year I did a little thought experiment, imagining how I would pitch a brand new Star Wars film as a fresh start to the series. New characters, a new conflict and completely unconnected to plot-lines of the past.
Today, I bring you the logical conclusion of that thought experiment, a full spec script for a totally brand new Star Wars story. With artwork by the wonderful Barry McGowen.
With the discovery of valuable Kyber crystals, the small system of Windar becomes a battleground of great significance. While the New Republic sends the wise Jedi Karis to negotiate with the Aristocracy, the Incom corporation recruits the ambitious noble Lucian to betray his brother Louis and size control of operations. Now Louis must learn the ways of The Force with Shani of the striking Mineworkers Union, and overcome their differences to decide the fate of the planet.

Ok! Serious attempt at this #Dune piece after dicking around for too long!. I had an idea and even though I don't love the idea and composition in terms of execution; it'll be mostly an exhibition of draftsmanship, which I'm not super comfortable with but, that's the only way I can show off the #TimotheeChalamet caricature. So I did a proper sketch instead of just drawing directly on the board like I'm some sort of "Jack Kirby" or something. Pft! With that said, while drawing the first sketch, I went for something more in my wheelhouse, an impressionistic montages with an influence from Toppi, Klimt and Mignola. That'll be my treat for doing a dope portrait! 😁 I also added a couple drawings I kinda forgot about: A promo drawing of Shani the Wanderer back when I was working on that and (probably) the first drawing of Bug-Man, when I stole my sister's college notebook and turned it into a sketchbook. Temporary Statement
For my Project ‘’Temporary’’, I decided to work with fruit and femininity and how it relates.
My initial ideals that were formed were temporary pleasures and temporary trends, from this concept a created collage work. I then explored into the ides of phases in life that don’t last e.g., Puberty, pregnancy etc. I then explored a cabbage, with its many layers in which shred overtime, I seen similarities to the vegetables form with a humans life span. I completed a sculptural cabbage piece of a bra, the idea behind this was that pregnant women use cabbage leaves as an anti- inflammatory.
I took an image of my mum surrounding her head with various fruits with different colours and textures. Using the image of my mum, I created various cyanotypes blueprints. I decided to dry out lemons to create feminine looking still life including grapes and perfume, this rich image brought me on to create a lemon necklace, cyanotypes and a still life painting.
The Image of the still life had a magazine cover style, working with this concept a collaged magazine headlines onto the still life’s creating wonderful marketing images. I decided to get deeper research more on how women are viewed in advertising and media, I found that 83% of women feel ageism in advertisements. To experiment with this statistic, I created an image of my 85 year old grandmother surrounding her face with fruits, some fresh, some decaying.
As a result, my ideas are working very well with one another, they feed off each other enhancing my visions and artwork. From the beginning of this project, I wanted to create work that is playful and colourful, and that relates to the word temporary.

Before you drag me for this, I have next to NO actual training or natural ability in computer art. I can do basic graphic design, sure, but actual drawing on the computer is horrible for me because my brain can't conceptualize any forms or coloring or shadows that I'm not directly copying from a photograph. I keep trying to make them work but in this case, all three of the reference photos I was using had different lighting sources, and I didn't even have a photo for Zaynee, so none of the shadows were ever going to match up.
Also, I don't own a tablet. At all. Don't have one. What you see was done on a desktop with a mouse in GIMP.
So yeah. This will likely never get done but I'm throwing it up here anyway. Hope it doesn't turn anyone's stomach, or anything.

The Horror Show Punks, witches, subversive icons and ghostly figures will be haunting ‘Somerset House’ as ‘The Horror Show!’ looks back over 50 years of British counter-culture. The landmark exhibition explores the UK’s alternative history in three acts - ‘Monster’, ‘Ghost' and ‘Witch’ - using horror archetypes to examine defining eras and make sense of the uncanny. The collection will bring together over 200 artworks by key players and culturally significant objects from the past five decades. Featured artists are set to include Jamie Reid, Pam Hogg, Leigh Bowery, Juno Calypso, Derek Jarman, Harminder Judge, Zadie Xa and Tai Shani. Punk profit Jamie Reid’s painting ‘Monster on a Nice Roof’ will open the show, introducing visitors to the first exhibition’s act, ‘Monster’, in which beastly themes will reflect the socio-political unrest of the 70s and 80s and the British spirit of nonconformity. ‘Ghost’ examines the eerie shift between the hyper-inflated 80s and the years leading up to the financial crisis of 2008. Derek Jarman’s final piece ‘Blue’ sets the tone of something uncertain but impending. ‘Witch’ takes us into the modern day and celebrates the internet-issued sense of hyper-community as a global coven of rebels calling for inclusion and equality. Each act will be backdropped by a soundtrack reminiscent of their respective time periods - think Bauhaus, Barry Adamson and Mica Levi. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of talks and events offering a deep dive into counter-cultural, mystic and the uncanny.
