The Valley Song
Tumblr media
Requested: nope, I just wanted to write this
TW: just Coriolanus’ being himself.
Pairing: possible Coriolanus x reader, Sejanus x reader, Lucy gray x platonic!reader
Authors note: Listen to this for the story. I imagine this is what the reader sounds like when singing <3, I’m also changing the lore a little to the reader wrote the valley song to fit the story :)
The Valley Song Series: Part 2 -> Part 3
The Hob was filled with people as usual. The crowd of people made the heat even more unbearable, but everyone arrived to hear the Covey preform as always. The summer heat caused sweat to drip down everyone’s faces, but no one seemed to mind as they awaited the Covery to preform.
Drinks were being passed sound eagerly as the members of the district awaited the sound of the music and voices that allowed them to escape just for a few hours.
Coriolanus Snow stood towards the back of the Hob, Sejanus by his side as they spoke to his bunkmates, what were their names? Smiley and Bug. Such stupid names, Coriolanus thought he to himself as he leaned against the back, unsecured wall of the hob.
It wasn’t always his first idea of what to do in their night off, but then again they were in District Twelve…there wasn’t much to do to begin with.
Coriolanus’ attention was turned back to the stage as eager whoops and applause filled the Hob as Lucy Gray and the rest of the Covey made their way on stage.
With their clothes and make up, the girls had flowers entangled in their hair. It made it seem like they had rolled around in a field before coming up on stage. It was intriguing, but very much district, and it made Coriolanus internally scowl.
The covey continued to play for a few hours, rotating songs and singers. Giving each other a break, Maude Ivory sang for a while before Lucy Gray returned. Of course she held the audience in a captivated gaze at the sound of her voice.
Coriolanus and the other off duty peacekeepers were no exception as she twirled around the stage with her black guitar in hand. It was a sight, certainly one that would make her plenty of money if she came with him back to the capital. She would make a pretty capital girl, once she was cleaned up and better fed at least, Coriolanus thought.
The end of the night was winding down, and everyone was exhausted from the dancing over the last few hours. Lucy Gray panted softly before approaching the microphone once more.
“District Twelve ya’ll have been amazing as always,” she said with the biggest grin, like it was a privilege to be preforming at the Hob in the lowest district in Panem.
“And just before we go for the night we got a special treat. My cousin Y/N Rose Baird! She got an awful special song for y’all tonight to finish us off.. y/n!” Lucy gray turned and beckoned her cousin up front.
A girl, maybe not much older than Lucy Gray, maybe a year or two stepped up wearing a pink blouse and off white skirt, her hair was done half up, help of what looked like baby’s breath through her hair.
Coriolanus’ eyes widened a bit at the side of her, the soft rouge on her cheeks and pink on her lips. It was soft. Not harsh make up like Lucy gray had worn, but very little.
“Oh wow…” he heard Sejanus’ voice beside him, and for a moment he had completely forgotten he was there, “she’s beautiful,”
Sejanus was right though. This Y/N Rose was beautiful. Even from the way that she held the old brown guitar in her hands, everything about her intrigued him. The softness in her eyes and expression. Glancing around the room, he felt a hot jealously spring through him as he saw many of the other men looking at her the same way.
They didn’t deserve to look at you that way. You were too gentle, too soft and vulnerable. He could tell by just looking at you. The shy way you were glancing around the room. You preferred the background, and he liked that.
Lucy gray was always upfront, bold. Abrasive. But that wasn’t you. You weren’t like your cousin, who had killed in the games, you would never hurt anyone. And you needed protecting. He could do that.
“Thank y’all for comin’” Y/N’s voice rang into the microphone and he couldn’t help but stare. In the corner of his eye he could see Sejanus almost making heart eyes.
“This is a song I wrote a little while ago. Lost someone as we all have. Hope y’all like it,” she said nervously before she gently began to strum the guitar in her hands. One note after another. Then she began to sing.
“Down in the valley, valley so low,
Late in the evening, hear the train blow.
The train, love, hear the train blow.
Late in the evening, hear the train blow.”
Coriolanus felt like he was in a trance as she began to sing. Her voice was soft and airy, almost shy. It was so different to Lucy Gray. Though his mind snapped out of his thoughts as Lucy Gray found her way over to him with a grin.
“Hi! Good ain’t she?” She asked happily, rather proud of her cousin.
“Good isn’t the word for it,” Sejanus said, his cheek flushing a bit as he looked from Lucy Gray back to the stage.
Coriolanus cleared his throat, “yes, she’s quite good. But most of the Covey is,” he said, listening as Y/N continued.
“Go build me a mansion, build it so high,
So I can see my true love go by.
See him go by, love, see him go by.
So I can see my true love go by.”
“She was always shyer than most,” Lucy Gray said, “prefers the background. But I couldn’t let her not sing this one,” she said, and it make Coriolanus think….who was it about? Was this recent?
“Go write a letter, send it by mail.
Bake it and stamp it to the Capitol jail.
Capitol jail, love, to the Capitol jail.”
“Who is it about?” Coriolanus asked, he couldn’t help himself.
Lucy gray let out a small sigh, “someone she was with about a year ago. He was the bakers son. Honestly I never seen someone so smitten before,” she said fondly, remembering how Y/N was with the boy before shaking her head,
“but he got himself into some bad trouble with the peacekeepers. Attempted to bribe one of the commanders. They thought he was all involved with the rebels and then he was sent off to the capital jail. Never seen someone so heart broken before.” Lucy gray shook her head, her messy black curls moving as she did so.
“But anyway, she wrote this a while ago. But just finished coming up with the music. I think it’s a hit with the district. Many people lost a lot of loved ones. For things like stealing and illegal trading,” she finished explaining.
“Roses are red, love; violets are blue.
Birds in the heavens know I love you.
Know I love you, oh, know I love you,
Birds in the heavens know I love you.”
Coriolanus’ head snapped back as she continued to sing the last verses of her song. It reminded him of his mother, she would sing those same lines to him. And it made his stomach flutter. Nerves? Anxiety? He couldn’t tell.
Sejanus cleared his throat, “Lucy Gray….do you think you could introduce us?” He asked hopefully, and Lucy Gray gave a knowing grin.
“Why of course. Once the crowd clears,” Lucy Gray said.
Coriolanus couldn’t help but internally scoff at Sejanus. What could he do for a sweet shy girl like you? Sejanus was just as weak. You needed someone to protect you, who knew better. Sejanus couldn’t do that to you. But Coriolanus could. And he wouldn’t lose to someone like Sejanus.
His pale eyes moved from Sejanus as the crowd erupted into applause, and watched as Y/N gave a bashful smile and a cute little bow.
Yes.
He couldn’t lose you to anyone.

Loverboys on Our Hands (s.p x covey!reader)
Tumblr media
pairing: sejanus plinth x covey!reader
word count: 1.4k
warnings: none, unless you count coriolanus as a warning lol
a/n: i have been obsessed with covey!reader and sejanus for a hot second now so i thought i'd finally write about it! heavily influenced by @alwritey-aphrodite to write said duo (so if you haven't read their work you absolutely should!). anyway, hope you enjoy!
The sound of coal miner boots stomping in rhythm against the creaky floors of the Hob would always be your favourite sound. Performances hadn’t been as frequent with Lucy Gray fighting in the arena and everything, but now the Covey were back in full swing and you couldn’t be happier. All it took was one look at Maude Ivory, her smile shining brighter than the sun in the meadow, for your stage fright to turn into excitement, and your fingers were ready to join Clerk Carmine in your shared moments of fiddle harmony. Barb started the backstage line up, urging the rest of you to follow suit before your performance was to officially begin. There were people clapping in anticipation behind the curtain, surrounded by the sound of glasses clinking together at the bar and men laughing at each other. You gave a nod to Maude Ivory before she headed out to announce the evening, and hearing her receive a round of applause only widened the smile on your face.
“I hope everyone’s ready ‘cause we’ve got a great show lined up for you tonight!” She paused for people to clap before announcing you all one by one, the audience’s excitement growing with each name that got called. Once everyone was on, Maude Ivory tapped her drum a few times to count everyone in before Clerk Carmine began playing the introductory melody. He made his way over to you, nudging you with his body weight before you leaned back to back as your harmony part began and you laughed, pushing back off each other as Lucy Gray started strumming, stepping closer to the microphone. Tam Amber took a break from his mandolin to get the audience clapping in rhythm, getting a few shouts and hollers out of them as well.
This was your happy place, the thing you wouldn’t trade for anything, and the audience’s energy only made it better. You travelled across the stage to Barb Azure as Lucy Gray did a twirl with her guitar. Barb Azure gave you a look and nodded her head towards Lucy Gray as you could tell she was focused on something in the back of the Hob. A familiar blonde head had made his way through the crowd to see tonight’s performance, and his Peacekeeper buddies had come with him. You shook your head, letting out a small chuckle as you separated from Barb Azure, but you couldn’t help yourself from also looking in that same direction, hoping another buzzed head would be in attendance.
Sure enough, Sejanus was sitting on one of the barrales next to the table Coriolanus had secured, and you twirled yourself around to hide the large smile you were starting to sport. Lucy Gray looked over at you and gave you a knowing nod, but you just shook your head, hoping she wasn’t getting any ideas. The girl may have wandered the Earth with the best intentions, but you didn’t need her meddling in your lacking love life. You allowed yourself one look over, just enough time to catch him smiling and lightly bobbing his head along to the music, before turning back away in fear that you would get too distracted. The last thing you needed was Clerk Carmine making fun of you for playing a wrong note again.
After the performance was over, and Maude Ivory was going around collecting whatever tips people were willing to give, Lucy Gray grabbed your hand and marched you straight over to the Peacekeeper boys. Trying not to object too loudly, in fear that a certain someone would hear and get the wrong idea, you were quick to shut up once you reached the table, choosing to brush some dust off the front of your top instead.
“You remember Coriolanus don’t you?” She asked you, never dropping your hand.
“Hard to forget when you won’t stop talking about him,” you teased Lucy Gray, looking quickly over at the blonde boy and noticing a content smirk on his face.
Rolling her eyes, Lucy Gray added, “and his friend,” as she gestured to Sejanus with your connected hands.
Your cheeks were hot, and you would’ve found more interest in your laced up boots had you not noticed Sejanus was already looking at you. “It was awfully nice of you both to come tonight”.
“Oh it’s not a problem, really. You guys are so good, it would be a shame to miss such a performance,” Sejanus smiled, and you missed Coriolanus sticking his foot out and kicking his friend in the shin.
“Well, I think some celebratory drinks are in order,” Lucy Gray started, “Coriolanus, won’t you come help me carry some?” He nodded, quickly hopping off his stool and following after her.
“But you don’t-” you tried to object, but they were already weaving their way through the crowd, leaving you and Sejanus awkwardly taking in each other’s presence. “That was odd”.
“They sure are in love aren’t they?” Sejanus asked, leaning in closer to you to avoid yelling over the crowds who now had to entertain themselves.
“Yeah, but..” you trailed off, your eyes focused on where the couple had just run off to.
“But what?” Sejanus urged you to continue.
“I don’t know. Her last relationship was real rough for her- you remember when Billy Taupe came in here the other night- and I just don’t want to see her hurt again. Especially not after what she just went through”. You paused. “But she’s a tough girl”. You looked back to make eye contact with Sejanus, realising he hadn’t looked away from you the entire time.
“I wasn’t being sarcastic or anything earlier, by the way. With what I said about us coming to see you tonight. You guys are really good, and it was nice to see you happy”.
“Well thank you,” you smiled, trying your hardest not to look at the floor. “That’s awfully sweet of you to say,” you finished as your nerves got the better of you and you looked down, kicking some piece of paper around.
In what seemed to be a rush of confidence, Sejanus tipped your chin up with his finger, forcing you to look at him once again. “There’s that pretty smile”. His smile grew wider, as did the heat on your cheeks, before he dropped his hand. Lucy Gray and Coriolanus were quick to return to the table at that moment, and you knew she must have seen that little interaction go down just by the way she was smiling at you.
“You know, I was just telling Coriolanus that we were all thinking of heading up to the lake tomorrow if y’all wanted to come,” she looked between Sejanus and Coriolanus, who were both nodding their heads in piqued interest.
“Yeah, that sounds great. We have the day off too so it would work out perfectly,” Sejanus added a verbal confirmation to the conversation.
“Oh! That would be so much fun!” If performing was your ultimate happy place, the lake was definitely a close second. “Does anyone have a pen or something?” You shouted a little louder into the remaining crowd. Someone was quick to toss one over to you and you looked at Sejanus with an excited expression on your face. “Give me your arm”.
With no hesitation, albeit a confused look on his face, Sejanus rolled up his sleeve, leaning his arm out to you in the process. You quickly scribbled down ‘The Seam’ with some broken directions on how to get there and a time before capping the pen and throwing it back into the crowd.
“Now, you two meet us there at that exact time and we’ll all head over together alright?” Lucy Gray looked between the two boys, “And don’t you dare be late, or we’ll be just fine leaving without you,” she teased with a mischievous smile on her face as she grabbed your hand again.
“I guess we’re heading back, but we’ll see you both tomorrow yeah?” You looked first at your combined hands and then at the boys.
“Yeah, it sounds like a great time,” Sejanus nodded at the two of you before Lucy Gray was pulling you back to join the rest of the Covey. You turned awkwardly over your open shoulder, waving goodbye to them with your free hand.
“Anything would sound like a great time to you if you got to see them again,” you caught Coriolanus muttering to his friend as the two of them stood up to leave.
Lucy Gray laughed at the intense blush creeping its way onto your face, nudging your body with her shoulder before you met up with the rest of the Covey backstage. “Looks like we’ve got a couple of loverboys on our hands”.

All it takes is a click of a device.

Coriolanus Snow served his time in District 12, mostly bored out of his mind. He tried to accompany other Peacekeepers to the bar every evening in search of at least some fun, just for his eyes to find the podium and fall on the victor of the 10th Hunger Games. He gritted his teeth as Lucy Gray left the podium, performing another of her songs like always. Not a glance spared his way.
Instead, she threw herself onto a nearby chair, stuffing her mouth with a small piece of meat she got for her performance. Her fingers dug into the bone. Her lips were smeared with grease. A wave of disgust rose in him, sending shivers down his whole being. She was a victor. How could she live like this? How could she just come back and live her ordinary and poor life after what she has been through? And how could she treat him like a ghost? After what he had done for her?
While there was disgust in Snow, there was never an ounce of anger. After all, if it wasn't for Highbottom, he would be in Capitol holding his prize, knowing damn well he played the same games as she did. That's just how it was. And if Lucy Gray hadn't known how to play the game, she wouldn't have been a victor. But the game was over, Lucy Gray was rather forgotten and so was he, now stuck in the poorest district, forced to do the dirtiest work, his ego hurting every time he looked around, knowing very well he did not belong here, at least not like Sejanus seemed to.
It was a sunny day when Snow creeped out of the centre of the 12th and towards the flower-covered Meadow. His heart was beating out of his chest as his legs carried him down the hill to a lonesome tree, watching over the rest of the woods down in the alley. It was where he spoke with Lucy Gray for the last time. He came unarmed, relying on the completely abandoned stones under the tree. Yet, they weren't. Not really.
"You can go keep peace where it's actually wanted," a voice from above made him jump up. His right hand immediately reached for the absent belt on his hips. He almost forgot he didn't bring his gun, didn't think he needed it. As his eyes slowly scanned the tree trunk from the roots to the branches, he noticed a sly smirk flashing between the greenery of the tree's leaves. The intruder seemed to be amused by his scare. He couldn't help but frown in confusion as a disobedient smirk already sat on his lips. How did he not notice?
"Got you good, huh?" the person spoke once again, now their voice coming from in front of him, accompanied by an intentionally loud thud that made him jump once again, this time his palm reaching for his heart.
His widened eyes scanned the person that now stood steadily on the ground, already knowing they had to be from the Covey. The pieces of colourful fabric that covered their body, matched with the green of the forest and the occassional bright colour of the flowers. The crown on their head was made of early dandelions. And the fact that no one in their right mind except the Covey would dare to stray so far away from the District's centre, gave Coriolanus a clear answer who this person was.
But Coriolanus knew he was an exception as well. He also dared to stray this far away.
"Do you greet everyone like this?" he breathed out the air he was holding in his lungs up until now.
"No, just lost peacekeepers who seem to get in the way," you shrugged, already taking him in from head to toe. No weapons, but white hair cut into a buzzcut which would sort him into the peacekeeper's family immediately, if his uniform wasn't giving that out already. It made you scoff.
"You shouldn't be here," the peacekeeper's voice broke the silence. "I could call the others if I wanted to," he threatened, but it only made you laugh out loud, your melodic laughter catching the attention of the birds around.
"What's so funny?" you looked back at the man in front of you, only to find his composure completely serious, almost as if he meant everything he said. "You cannot do anything here," you spoke, the giggles still hearable in your voice. "You shouldn't be here as well,"
"But neither should you," the blond repeated once again.. "Covey is way lower in the alley, you barely come here,"
"They barely do. Let's say I come here a bit more, alone," your voice got lost in the breeze around you as your last few words turned into a whisper. Nevertheless, you straightened up your posture, waiting for the peacekeeper's next words, ready to flee if needed.
"Coriolanus Snow," was what came from between his lips. Your eyes widened. "That's my name," Coriolanus felt like he had to explain, based on your confused expression. "Y/n," you let out, not believing your own ears. A mischievous smile painted his lips, "Well, Y/n, what now? I like to come here alone too,"
If someone had told you a peacekeeper would accompany you through your days in the Meadow, you would laugh into their face. There was no way. But Coriolanus turned out to be different. He started to talk to you about how it was in the Capitol. You started to teach him how to survive in the wild.
"Don't eat that!" you scolded him once as you walked through the trees, hiding from the hot flames of the sun's beams. "That's nightlock! You could be dead in a minute," you found yourself screaming, smearing the juice of the berries on his hands, trying to get rid of the deadly fruit.
"I... didn't know. They looked like the berries you showed me the other day," he said, stunned, staring at the dark purple on his hands.
"They do, but they are not. Let's get you cleaned," you grabbed his hand, the paint smearing your hand too. You dragged him deeper into the woods, the trees thickening. But they were no escape from the hotness now, its source coming from your hands intertwined together, his piercing gaze burning the tips of your ears.
You soon found out you were drawn closer to the convicted ex-citizen of Capitol, and he was too, something you never imagined, even in your wildest dreams.
"If you could be anywhere but here, where would you go?" he asked you once, his curious eyes watching you. "I would just disappear to the woods," you hummed. You didn't notice his subtle smile dropping. "What about you?" you asked Coriolanus, taking in his strong features in the setting sun. The orange brought a bit of warmth into his usually cold stare.
"Woods sound nice. But I don't think it's my forte," he mumbled, his eyes already stuck on you. "I will have to be careful about the nightlock. And what would I do when you leave?" his fingers crept up your neck, sending shivers through you, but you let him, wondering how far they would dare to go.
"You could come. I would have shown you everything," you found yourself whispering once again, but he could hear you.
"I think with you I could," he whispered back, the breeze bringing his voice to you before it was locked between your lips, moving against each other, dancing like the leaves in the wind. There was no more Lucy Grey on his mind, and maybe he was actually willing to throw away his Capitol dream for a time in the woods with you. Because he didn't think he had a shot at coming back to the Capitol.
After a while, Coriolanus brought a friend of his, Sejanus. And although you found yourself a bit bitter about it, he started to become your company more and more by day. But he also started to grow closer to your heart.
"What would you do if you could go anywhere you wanted to, Sejanus?" you asked in the middle of the night, hanging from the tree as Sejanus looked up at you.
"I would go see my parents," he spoke softly. And then he added, "I can't visit them and I wish I could. But it's okay. I am fine with where I am right now, as long as I am free from the Capitol,"
Your eyes darted to the blond but Coryo just laughed.
Sejanus didn't.
Coriolanus leaned himself against the wooden cage full of birds they came to catch. You couldn't remember the name, but he told you they were mutts, destroying nature, creating mutations.
"We will run," Sejanus started. A silence fell upon you three. Then a subtle click sounded in the air and Sejanus continued. "I spoke with some people from the district. We will rescue Lil and escape through the loose fence," Again, all of you fell silent. Your heartbeat rose. "What?" you whispered to the night but Coryo cut you off. "You won't survive a minute there, Sejanus, you're from Capitol-"
"I'm a good shot," you watched Sejanus turn to Coriolanus, both their glances determined to convince the other. A good shot. You thought, soon enough realising. The rebels have guns.
"Why are you saying this?" Coriolanus asked out loud, his voice cold.
"It's us, together, remember? You are my friend," you watched Sejanus' lips spread into what looked like a smile in the moonlight. You couldn't help but smile too. This might be your chance.
"There is a new bird in the woods. I think I saw it before, but I don't remember where," you commented on one of your casual walks with Snow a few days later. He arched his eyebrow but didn't act surprised at all. Yet, he still asked. "Really? Which one?" he said, almost uninterested, lost in his thoughts. "That one," you stopped in your tracks, making his stiff body bump into you. He hissed before looking up, his fingers unconsciously wrapping around your wrist.
"Oh, you mean Jabberjays?" he whispered, making you gasp. You found yourself backed up against the tree trunk, your left wrist pinned against the hard bark, Coryo's hand already on your collarbone, slowly sneaking up your neck like a snake. Your right hand automatically fell on his hip.
"Yes, Jabberjays," you repeated, your face brightening, hearing something click. Suddenly, your voice spread through the air, repeating the same word billions of times. "We were here to capture them, remember?" Coryo spoke through the mimic of your voice, so similar, you almost thought your mouth must have kept on going. Your hand travelled to his arm, and down to his fingers, holding something. You hugged his hand in yours slowly picking it up, while withholding eye contact, his bright blue eyes sending cold down your body as usual.
"And this is how you set them off, right?" his fingers let go of the device under the touch of your fingers. "This is what they used during the revolution," your voice was now all quiet as you turned the device off. "They used it to spy on people,"
"On rebels," Coryo nodded, drawing closer.
"Are they spying on us now?" you looked up, stopping him with your gaze. He looked up, staring at you intently, switching between your eyes and lips.
"Could they hear about our escape?" and before you could ask anything else, his lips were on yours once again, their warmth contrasting to his always freezing gaze. His hand around your neck, becoming tighter with every graze, his movements more passionate.
"Coryo," you breathed. He smirked at the nickname but didn't answer and shut you up with more kisses. "Coriolanus," you tried again but to no avail. "Coriolanus Snow," you finally spoke out loud, making him groan.
"You need to go," he frowned at your statement. "Duty calls?" you smiled a bit at his state, his eyes widening as he realised he was about to be late. "See you by the tree," were the words he spoke before he rushed out of the woods. Leaving you alone, with the small device still in your hand.
You waited. You waited for days, but there was no sign of Coriolanus nor Sejanus. You almost forgot how it was to spend your days alone, sitting in the crown of the tree, your only company the birds flying around. Suddenly you took notice of the Jabberjays and Mockingjays, spending your time saying something, making Jabberjays say it back and watching as the Mockingjays repeated the intonation of your voice.
But after a few hours, you couldn't keep on going. You found it foreign and scary, how well the Jabberjays repeated what you wanted them to. Their eyes were empty, looking almost pointless when they didn't have anything to repeat. But one day, there were no Jays to keep you company. There was no sun, no breeze. Just silence. Everywhere.
You found it disturbing. For the first time in your life, you willingly made your way to the centre of District 12. But you found it empty just the same. Except for the square by the hanging tree. And then you realised.
You wanted to run away badly, kept ordering your feet to turn around and flee, knowing you were never the type to digest the hanging. But you didn't stop, no, you kept going until you arrived, standing in the audience on one of the stairs above the crowd, your eyes darting to the boy standing under one of the branches. His dark eyes screamed in fear with dark messy curls falling into them, occasionally silencing his already silent pleads. Your stomach turned. Sejanus.
But why? Why would they hang him? He was a peacekeeper, he did his job well. The only thing you knew was unpopular with the peacekeepers, was befriending the district's citizens. But they all did, they were all poor just the same.
There was a woman on the other side of the tree. You recognised her. Her husband was hanged a while ago, you heard. Her name was Lil? One of the rebels. And you started to understand.
You found Coryo pretty quickly. After all, he was standing right under the tree. Gun in his hand. His eyes trained somewhere in the distance. At you. Coriolanus Snow kept his composure, not an ounce of expression on his face. How could he stand there? Without moving? How could he not protest against the death of his friend? Wasn't he, too, supposed to run away with them? Run away...
You were brought back to the night Sejanus told him about the plan. There was a click, a cage full of birds you couldn't remember, until Coriolanus told you days later, that Jabberjays, they are able to copy exactly what you say if you use the device to record. The device you held in your hand, tied to the birds sitting on the tree.
Peacekeepers keeping peace under it with two rebels about to be hung. Jabberjays and Mockingjays, all together, one created by Capitol, the other by the district. Your fingers moved in your pocket, you heard the click as a thick rope was thrown over Sejanus' throat.
"No!" he yelled out. "Ma! No, please, Ma! Help me Ma!" his screams filled the air, sending shivers of terror down everyone's spine. Except Coriolanus Snow, who didn't move, his eyes stuck on you, your hand, the black device in it. Small tears formed in his eyes as the sound of rope tightening filled the air, the sound of wood falling to the lower platform, Sejanus' screams never falling silent, filling the branches above his head.
The Jabberjays screamed, the Mockingjays mocking them and with the return of the wind, you were gone, away from the district, away from the lonesome tree, away from Coriolanus Snow, away from the device created by Capitol.

GUYS UGH re-reading tbosas is painful so this is how im coping. i love Sejanus and Covey!Reader with my whole heart
————————————————————————
Sejanus Plinth who 100% did not die and fell in love with a member of the Covey. Lucy Gray made it happen. Maybe you were a more shy member, mostly doing backup and playing an instrument, but she saw how you gazed at Sejanus from across the hob. And since she was dating his best friend, she convinced Coriolanus to help her set you two up.
Which leads to Coryo bringing Sejanus along with him for the lake trip, and then Lucy Gray subtly walks a little slower than you “to help carry Maude Ivory”, but really it was so you and Sejanus could have your meet cute.
And he’s so nervous. He just wants to make a good impression, but he can’t fully wrap his head around this pretty girl being interested in him.
But he’s also really friendly and the conversation flows so naturally that by the time you get to the lake, you’re both abandoning the rest of the group and sitting in the grass a bit away from them, definitely kissing for the first time after teaching him how to make a flower crown.
And lord he’s more insufferable than Coryo. He won’t shut up about you and every time the peacekeepers go to the Hob on their day off he’s smiling like an idiot. Everyone else figures out you’re together, especially because a drunk Sejanus gives you standing ovations every time you’re on stage.
And when he’s not!! that intoxicated he finds you after the show and always has something to give you, whether it’s one of his Ma’s treats or a random little trinket he found. And he peppers you with kisses and love because you’re his little songbird and he’s always so proud of you!! And 1000% he finds a way to introduce you to his ma. He stays in 12 with you and ends up becoming a medic in town, leaving the peacekeepers and spending his days laying in your lap while he tries to do some good in the world, but all the good in right in front of him.

Tumblr media
"Because I don't want to fucking hurt you.” Coriolanus snapped. "God, half the time, I'm scared I could break you, even though I'm doing everything I can to hold back."
Your boyfriend was having a hard time lately. The anniversary of his father's death was creeping up and you knew he was having those thoughts again.
He had confided in you early on in your relationship his two biggest fears: losing you, and turning into his father. Now, he was spiraling with thoughts of both happening.
"Talk to me," you said, trying to reassure him. The two of you were by the lake, entangled in each other's arms on a blanket.
"I- I just..." he was trying to catch his breath. "I'm so angry all the time and you, you're an angel. You've never done anything wrong in your life. I don't deserve you, I don't know how to not fuck this up."
You couldn't help but smile at his name for you, reaching out to caress his cheek. He leaned into your familiar touch, one of the few things that could calm him down when he was like this.
It was true, he did get mad at the smallest things. Just last week, he got jealous of Sejanus for holding up your skirt as you went down the stairs, even though the two of you were clearly just friends.
And yesterday, he was frustrated with something that happened during training and came back to the cabin furious. You had asked him how his day was, like usual, and he had snapped at you.
"It was bad. Do you have to ask me that everyday?" he retorted, knocking over the items on the shelf closest to him.
But even though he got jealous or angry sometimes, you knew that he was working on it. He always felt awful afterward, and always made sure that you knew how sorry he was. That night, he had drawn a bath for you and even added some wild lavender he found near the water.
"Hey, you know I love you, right?" you said.
He sat up slightly to make better eye contact with you, "I do. But what if that's not enough?"
You frowned, "My love isn't?"
"No, no. I meant what if love, in general, is not enough? What if that's not enough to change my fate? Y/N, you know about my father, he was awful."
"I know, Coryo," you sighed. "But I also know you, and you're a good person. You love me, you love the Covey. You care about me, and your family. You want to be good, and I think that is enough."
Still, he didn't seem convinced. "I hate that I can barely remember him anymore, but he's still haunting me. The rebels that killed him haunt me. What if that happens to me?"
"Stop. No one here is going to do that, they know you're on our side. Don't you see? You're trying so hard to not be like your father, but you don't have to try to be good. You just are, deep-down in here," you pointed to where his heart is. "You are."
He leaned down now to pull you into a kiss. "Angel, can you promise me something?"
"What is it?"
"Promise me you'll never leave my side."
"Coryo, you could drag me through hell if it meant I could hold your hand. I will follow you to the ends of the earth. We're in this together."
That seemed to please him, finally. He wrapped his arms tighter around you and pulled you to lay back down with him. The two of you stared up at the stars, each silently wishing for this to work out.

Coriolanus finds Lucy Gray near the hanging tree. It was nearly evening. Lucy Gray's eyes were red. Coriolanus ignored the pity he felt. Soon, Lucy Gray would join Sejanus Plinth.
“Lucy Gray,” he hissed, taking her attention away from the tree.
“You'll need to leave,” he said, his voice faking desperation, “to the North. Sejanus would have wanted that.”
“What about you?” Lucy Gray asked, “What about the Covey?”
“The Covey will live, Lucy Gray, you know that. They're strong. They're survivors,” he replied, “as for me, I wish to leave with you. I can't stay in the place that took my friend.”
Coriolanus' eyes quickly filled with tears as soon as he finished. “It's all my fault,” his lips utter, “if only I could have stopped him.”
Lucy Gray looks at him, her face stricken with grief. She doesn't say anything but lets the tears fall down her cheeks. She pulls Coriolanus into a hug.
“The Peacekeepers will look for me, I'll stay in the cabin for the night,” Lucy Gray said. There was a cabin, near the lake, over the fence of the district. Nobody ventures that far except the Covey. Coriolanus and Sejanus only found out about its existence due to their connection with Lucy Gray.
He remembered all the moments he spent there with the Covey. It would be a good place for Lucy Gray to perish. Around all the greens and the music of mockingjays inside the forest.
“I'll meet you there tomorrow in the morning with supplies,” he said, holding Lucy Gray's hand, even giving it a friendly squeeze. He was afraid he was overselling the act but Lucy Gray was too sad to notice how over-the-top friendly Coriolanus was acting.
Lucy Gray nods and turns to leave. Her legs were shaky as she walked. Sejanus and Lucy Gray had to keep their relationship a secret for obvious reasons. But everyone would point at her for the mayor’s daughter's death. It didn't end with Sejanus Plinths' death. It won't because the mayor is trying to root out every single rebel, and surely he won't keep alive the girl his daughter hated so much.
Coriolanus finds his way back to the base. It's night by the time he returns. He climbs up the stairs and walks down the hallway to reach your room. He knocks and waits for you to open the door.
You do.
Coryo tried his best not to get distracted at the sight of you. You were looking so pretty. You look beautiful to him all the time. “Hi,” he gasps out.
“Hey,” you smile, giving him space to walk inside the room. Peacekeepers knew by now that something was going on between him and you. They knew better than to gossip about it though. It was clear you had the power to do anything you wanted. And everyone knew not to mess with someone from the Capitol.
That is why Coriolanus knew even if he spent the night here. He won't get in trouble. He pulls off his Peacekeeper uniform and wears one of the big, oversized sweatshirts you bought from the Capitol. The softness of the fabric makes him shy. He felt like a boy again. It was a feeling he never thought he would enjoy. For a moment, he could pretend he was in the Capitol, in his home, before the games had ever happened.
“You look comfy,” you tease him, as you find your home in his arms.
“I am,” he murmurs, his lips kissing your temple.
“I talked to Lucy Gray,” he informs you, “You were right. She's going to the north and she'll stay in the cabin for the night.”
“Hmm,” you hum, as you nuzzle your face into his shoulder, your lips pressing soft kisses to his pulse. Your arms around him, and his arms around you. Both of you caging each other. The heat of both of your bodies mingled into a pleasant warmth.
“Well, then my revolver will come in handy soon,” you whispered, a bit tired.
“They let you bring one here?” He questions.
“Special privileges,” you replied.
Any other day Coriolanus would feel jealousy pulling at his heart, a frown formatting on his face. Today, he just… didn't care. He didn't care that you had more benefits than him. He didn't care that you lived better than him.
You're his.
Could anything be better than that?
He doesn't think so.
“Typical,” he said, his head now on your shoulders.
“Uh huh,” you add, “Stay the night.”
“Of course, dove.”
You lay down on the bed beside him. His arm was thrown over your waist, and your legs tangled with him. You gently let your nails scratch at his buzz cut. He sighs, relaxing from your touch.
“Tomorrow is a big day,” you remind him, “We'll have to finish everything by noon and catch the train in the evening.”
“We?” He questioned.
“I talked with Dr. Gaul,” you revealed, a bit hesitant, “She wants you back.” You frown, “Don't let the news deter from our plan Coriolanus, it's important we leave no strings behind.”
Coriolanus blinks, trying to take in your words. A smile splits on his face. He couldn't believe this, he had thought he would have to wait for months before Dr. Gaul let him get back to the Capitol. Snow thought she would be petty like that. But you somehow managed to convince her otherwise. It was shocking, to say the least.
“I will go to the Capitol with you tomorrow,” he said. He repeats, “I'll go to the Capitol with you tomorrow!”
You giggled, “Yes, Coriolanus. You thought I would leave you behind? It took some… it doesn't matter. We'll have our happily ever after.”
“I can't believe it,” he whispers, his eyes shining with joy, even with the darkness of the room, you could see his eyes sparkling.
“You should,” you whispered, “now sleep, darling. It's a big day tomorrow.”
Coriolanus couldn't believe it. He pressed your lips against yours. “Thank you,” he lets out, “I love you.” Coriolanus takes your hand, and presses a kiss to your wrist, on the number tattooed on your skin. “I love you, my dove,” he whispered.
“I love you too, pretty boy,” you whispered.
Coriolanus pulls impossible closer as if he were trying to mold both of your souls together. “I am glad you're mine,” he said. He kissed your forehead. “You're mine forever,” he whispered, a hint of darkness, and obsession creeping into his voice.
It made you bite your lower lip as you heard the possessiveness in his voice. “I know,” you replied, “You're mine too.” You add, your voice muffled as your face was pressed into his chest, “Nobody can take you away from me ever again.”
✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
In the morning, both of you quietly wake up in each other's arms. Coriolanus yawns, “Good morning, dove.” You hum something Coriolanus couldn't hear in reply.
It was so early that the sun had just begun to rise. However, he could hear the sound of rain. Coriolanus quickly gets out of the bed. He softly pats you on the cheek, smiling as you continue to fight the battle against sleep.
“See you soon,” he whispered, taking the revolver you had in your drawer and walking out of the room. He finds himself on his bunk bed, everyone else is sleeping, and he quickly begins to pack things inside of his bags. The supplies he told Lucy Gray about. When he is done, he briefly stops by in front of Sejanus Plinth's bed.
There was a box in which Sejanus Plinth kept his belongings. Coriolanus opens it to find letters, medicine, and two photos. One of Lucy Gray. Another was of Coriolanus and Sejanus, a photo taken from the time during the broadcast of the 10th Games. It seemed like yesterday.
Coriolanus Snow had no explanation for the tears that fell down his cheeks. Sejanus Plinth was dead. Snow had given Dr. Gaul the gun, and you made her pull the trigger. It's in her hands the blood of Sejanus truly was. Not on him nor you.
Coriolanus wipes his tears away. “She's coming soon to you, buddy,” he whispered to the picture. He wondered if Sejanus would thank him for his next actions, or curse him. Coriolanus doesn't think about it much, he leaves.
Soon enough, he reaches the cabin. “Lucy Gray,” he calls out. Lucy Gray opens the door, giving Coriolanus a polite smile. Lucy Gray lets him inside. He enters, looking around the old cabin he has been inside of many times. Coriolanus sets his bag down. Wondering about what he should do next. Should he wait for you? Should he take out the gun and shoot now?
Before he can decide his next actions, Lucy Gray pulls out a knife. “I think I’ll go dig up some Katniss since we got the fire going anyway. There’s a good patch by the lake.”
“I thought they weren’t ready,” he said. Katniss was another word for swamp potato. It grew around here, but just a few days ago Lucy Gray told him it wasn't ready for harvest.
“Two weeks can make a lot of difference,” she said.
“It’s raining,” he objected. “You’ll get soaked.”
She replied, “Well, I’m not made of sugar.”
Coriolanus lets her walk outside. It was a form of mercy, trying to give her some time to run. He knew that Lucy Gray's survival instincts were good. That was the only reason she had survived the arena.
But she won't be able to survive him.
Coriolanus follows her trail after a moment passes. She wasn't down the lake as she promised, but her footsteps were towards the forest. Coriolanus smirks as he takes the revolver out, and gets the gun ready for a shot.
“Let the hunger games begin,” he whispered, “may the odds be in your favor.”
Coriolanus continues to follow her trail quietly and quickly, using the training of being a Peacekeeper. His gun pointed in front of him, ready to be shot the moment he saw her. “Lucy Gray,” he calls out, his voice warm as if he wasn't going to murder, “Where are you? We need to leave soon.”
“Lucy Gray!” He turns when he hears footsteps and shoots, hoping not to miss. The shot met with flesh, the sound booming in his ear, much more overwhelming than the tap tap of the rain. He walks towards the body that is now in front of him. Red blood mixed with the rainwater on the ground, staining the greenery around them.
He shot her right in the chest.
Lucy Gray was dead.
She joined Sejanus Plinth in the afterlife and will spend the rest of eternity cursing Coriolanus. Snow couldn't find himself to clear. He felt relieved. No one can drag him down now. The only way for him was to climb the ladder and reach the peak. Coriolanus uses his feet to turn her dead body around. There was blood dripping down her lips, her dress red and her were nearly closed. She was nothing more than a dead body. Gone was the songbird.
Now it was time to get rid of the body.
He was grateful that the rain would cover the tracks. But he had to be careful as it was easy to slip and get hurt himself. He drags the body without any rush, he thinks of you, waiting in the cabin for him to come back. Both of you will go back to the Capitol. Snow will be together with his family, in the future you'll also become his family. Everything was going to be fine.
This was nothing but a simple stepping stone.
He could feel his arms getting tired but he continued to drag the body by her arms until he reached the edge of the lake. There was a boat. He wondered briefly if he should just take her on the boat and cross to the middle of the river to let her drown. But decided that it would be too much trouble, and pushed her to the river. A big splash occurs. And he could see Lucy Gray slowly but surely falling to her end.
Lucy Gray was gone from this world forever.
He throws the revolver into the river as well. The body would decompose in a matter of days. Everyone would think of her as a traitor. Even if the Covey comes to visit the lake again, they'll never know it's their beloved Lucy Gray's grave.
Coriolanus Snow reaches the cabin and opens the door to see you holding a Peacekeeper’s gun. The same gun he had used to shoot Mayfair and Billy Taupe. “Guess Spruce hid it here,” you grin at him. You were slightly wet from the rain, unlike him, he was soaking wet.
“Yeah,” he lets out, his shoulders relaxed, his face mirroring your smile. “We'll have to throw those in the lake too.”
You chuckled, “Let's not leave any stones unturned.”
Coryo couldn't take it anymore, the adrenaline was too much. “We won't,” he said, as he walked towards you until your back was on the wall. He takes the gun from you and throws it to the side. Neither of you flinch from the loud noise, the two of you too focused on each other instead. He closes the space between the both of you.
“But for now, I want you,” he adds, “No- that's not right. I need you, here.”
He doesn't wait for a reply. He crashed his lips to yours. You find yourself kissing him back. Your tongue exploring his mouth, he sucks at your bottom lip. Not caring that his teeth are digging into your flesh too harshly, that he's responsible for the coppery taste that occurs while you continue kissing.
“You sure?” You gasp as you break the kiss. A string of saliva connecting you both. Coriolanus doesn't reply, he finds his solace from the taste of your skin. He pressed his lips to your neck, sloppily kissing down your pulse. You softly moan, tilting your head to give him more access.
Coryo takes full advantage of that. He was going to claim you any way that he could. Carving his initials on your skin wasn't the only way after all. Cumming inside of you, giving your pretty red hickeys, the print of his fingers on your hips, even the soulmate tattoo you have on your wrist. All these are ways for him to fucking own you.
And own you he shall.
He bites onto your neck as if trying to tear out your flesh. He wants to consume you, soul and all. You cry out, your back arching. Your hips meet his, and he presses his hard bulge against you. He finds himself in between your legs. Your clothed cunt against his denim-cladded cock. You begin to grind against him, as he continues the assault on your neck.
The teeth mark he placed on your skin will remain for days. It will bruise on doubt. Coriolanus didn't have it in him right now to be gentle. He was too fucking drunk on you for that. All of his desires were rushing through, breaking his walls and overwhelming his mind.
“Fuck,” he curses as he realized his lips are red from your blood. His bites had broken your skin and now tiny droplets of blood were forming. He licks them all up and murmurs an apology. He pressed his lips on yours, painting your lips the same shade as his and making you taste yourself. His hips had slowed down the grinding against you.
He steps back and begins to undress. He lets his t-shirt and jeans fall to the ground. He takes his thick cock out of the confines of his boxers. He grips the base of length, trying to control himself as he watches you follow suit.
He pulls you against him again and nods his head towards the floor. You understand his intention and lay down. He bites his lip, sudden nerves overcoming him. He doesn't know what to do despite the raunchy stories he has heard from his fellow Peacekeepers.
Is he supposed to hold your hand or your hips? Should he just push in? Isn't he supposed to prep you first? Or are you wet enough? Fuck… it wasn't the first time he was intimate with you. He hadn't gone all the way but he was familiar with your body. But most of the time he was overwhelmed with his desire to think about what to do or not to do. This time his mind was clear, he was focusing solely on you and he wanted you to experience nothing less of ecstasy from his touch.
“Coryo?” you question, bringing him out of his internal monologue. “Is there anything wrong?”
“I-” he doesn't want to admit, but he knows he has to, “I don't know what to do right now.”
“You can do whatever you like. I'll tell you if you mess up, sweetheart.”
“I know,” he sighs, his eyes on your tits, he licks his lips, “but I am-” He swallows, trying to explain, “I want you. I don't know how to take you. Everything feels like too much or too little.”
You sit up. You gently cradle his cheeks in your hands. “We have all the time in the world, Coryo. What do you wanna do first?”
“I-” He doesn't form a full sentence, instead he kisses you. His hand is on your nape and another trailing down your body as he softly nips at your lips. He dips down his hand in between your legs, he pressed his palm onto your cunt. He lets himself be coated by your arousal. His breath hitches as he feels your heat in such an obscene way.
“Oh,” he whispered as he pressed a single finger inside of your walls. “I missed this.” He remembers the night when he first felt your tight, slick walls like this. He was rough that night, a bit mean too. Coriolanus wasn't going to be the same today. He plans to worship you.
He begins to slowly thrust his index finger inside of you. His head on your shoulder, his lips kissing any inch of skin he could find as he continues to stretch you out with a single finger. Then he adds another one, he was met with resistance, but he pressed his thumb to your clit. That makes you gasp, your cunt squeezing around his fingers when his thumb begins to draw small circles on the bud.
“Relax, dove,” he whispered, giving you goosebumps.
He doesn't begin to move his fingers even when you whine impatiently, your walls twitching around his digits. Once he deems that you're relaxed enough, he begins to slowly push inside of your pussy, as deep as his fingers could reach. He was trying his best to get you ready for his cock.
His fingertips begin to press into your walls, trying to find that one spot that would get you drunk on him as much as he's drunk on you. He knows he found the spot when he feels your walls pulse around his digits like it had a heartbeat of its own. You gasp his name and he smirks. He whispers to your ear, “That's it, huh?”
“Yes!” You moan, “Faster!”
Coriolanus Snow obeys because he can never say no to you. He begins to fuck his fingers inside of you faster, slipping his ring finger inside of you as well. He thrusts his digits fast and hard, he groans as he sees your pussy stretched to accommodate his long digits. He keeps his fingers slightly curved so that with each thrust he would press into your g-spot.
“Fuck, fuck, you're so pretty.”
Coriolanus couldn't be sure if he was saying that to you, or your cunt. He continues to keep up his speed, the sloppy, wet sounds of your pussy louder than of the rain. Coriolanus could hear you moan his name as he feels your pussy get impossibly tighter around his digits before your walls begin to spasm all over, locking his digits in. He doesn't pull them out, instead, he continues to press hard onto your spongy pleasure spot until you whine his name.
Your juices were now all over his fingers. He didn't waste a second to taste them. He looks into your eyes as he licks his digits clean. He runs his tongue between the spaces of his fingers, making sure he doesn't miss a single spot. When he's done, you pull him in for a kiss. You moan into his mouth as you taste yourself, you find yourself in his lap, his back pressed to the wooden floor.
Your hand pulls at the dog tag he wore. You use the necklace like a leash, pulling at it like he's a dog you're commanding. You wrap your fingers around it, your thumb caressing the metal pendant. “You're mine,” you whispered in wonder, “You taste of me.”
Coriolanus nods, agreeing to whatever you say. He just wants you! That's it. Ruin him. Ruin him for everybody else forever! You have that power. Take it and use it, that's all he wants.
You raise your hips, taking his cock in your hand. You pressed his tip against your clit, you gasped as you slowly began to rub his cockhead against your pearl. His pre-cum coating your bud, and soon all over your cunt. You were teasing him every time you let his cockhead get near your slit, but you don't let him slip inside of you. He lets out a whimper when you do it again.
Coriolanus finds out how easily he could make you. He switches the position within a split second, his hands on your hips as he uses his weight to press you down. You don't fight back. He growls out your name, his eyes flashing in annoyan
“Please-” he whines, “stop teasing.”
“Make me,” you smirk.
Coriolanus finds out how easily he could make you. He switches the position within a split second, his hands on your hips as he uses his weight to press you down. You don't fight back. He growls out your name, his eyes flashing in annoyance as if in retaliation he kisses you roughly.
“Don't-” kiss, “Play-,” kiss, “With-” kiss, “Me.”
“Not when I have waited for you for so long,” he adds.
His fingers pressed into your flesh. He gets a hold of his length and pressed it to your slit. “Can I?” He asked you, he wanted your permission. He needs your ‘yes’ before he takes you as his forever.
“Of course, Coryo.”
He begins to push in his tip, his length slipping inside of you with ease. He gasps as he feels your warmth all over his cock. The feeling is so overwhelming that he has to stop midway to not cum right away. He squeezed the base of his dick before he continued to push inside of you again, slowly inch by inch. He breathes through his mouth, his eyes closed as pleasure fills every corner of his mind. You felt perfect.
“You feel so good,” he whines.
His cock twitched inside of your walls. He bites the inside of his mouth, trying to use pain to distract himself from the mind-blowing pleasure. Meanwhile, you clenched your pussy as if to see how much his cock had stretched you. The two of you gasped from the feeling.
“Fuc- ah!”
Coryo pulls out a few of his inches and begins to thrust in. You moan out, feeling pleasure in your veins and seeing stars in your eyes. Snow's hands were on either side of your head as he balanced himself above you. His dog tag dangles in front of your lips as his hips continue to move. You wrapped your legs around his waist, pushing his cock even deeper into you. Coriolanus lets out a groan from the feeling.
“I won't be able to last long,” he admits, his cheeks getting red. Despite the overwhelming pleasure, he couldn't help but feel ashamed about how heavy his balls were with cum ready to be released inside of you.
“You will,” you whispered your hand on his nape. You squeeze it. “You will last as long as I fucking want, Coriolanus,” you said to him, pulling him down to meet your lips. The kiss was messy and open-mouthed. Another hand of yours was on his shoulder, your nails digging into his skin. You were marking him in your own way. With long, red scratches.
Coriolanus slows down, ready to please you however you want. You moan into his mouth and he eats the sound up. Coriolanus thrusts his hips faster, unable to truly control himself. How could he when you made him feel this good? He couldn't decide on the pace. He wanted this to last hours. He wanted to cum.
He kept switching between fast and slow until he found himself with his back on the floor. You are on top of him, your hands holding his hands above his head. “Be a good boy,” you said to him before you began to ride him.
You grind yourself against his cock, letting his cockhead kiss your spongy spot with each movement of your hips. Your arousal was coating your thighs and now it was on his skin as well. You were so wet and messy. Coriolanus loved it. You use one hand of yours to play with his balls. Coriolanus could feel his eyes rolling back.
“Don't- I-” he cries out in bliss when you squeeze his balls gently. You hush him with a kiss, your hips moving according to your will. You had set the perfect pace. It wasn't too much for either of you, letting the pleasure be prolonged.
He knew you were close with the way your push was contracting on his shaft. He knew you were close because your eyes were closed and fuck, you were cock drunk on him. He knew you were close because you had slowed down, and now rocking your hips back and forth. The hold you had on his hands had loosened. He breaks free without a fuss and places his hands on your hips.
He begins to push his hips up, fucking his cock into you. You whine, your eyes opening as you see him take control again. His teeth pulled at his lower lip, silencing his groans as he continues to fuck into you in this position. You use one of your hands to rub at your sensitive clit, feeling yourself getting closer to the edge.
You tense, your pussy tightening around Coriolanus’ cock. Your only warning was the moan of his name as your cunt begins to spasm around his dick. Coriolanus lets out a deep groan, his lower lip bloody from how hard his teeth dug into the flesh. He fucks you throughout your orgasm.
“Get off,” he whines, “I can't cum inside of you.”
“Do I look like I give a fuck?”
Coriolanus doesn't realize he's coming inside of you until he feels like jelly. He had stuffed you full of his thick, hot cum without a warning. But you had already stated you didn't give a fuck. So he supposed it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he had you now.
Forever.
✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
Hours later, you and Coriolanus find yourself at the train station. Ready to go back to the Capitol, once and for all. Commander Hoff had personally come to escort you both.
Coriolanus was about to enter the train. You were already inside. But Commander Hoff stops him, “Son.” Coriolanus stills, waiting to hear what Hoff has to say.
“Don't let her go. You don't know what she had to keep you safe.”
Coriolanus looks Commander Hoff in the eyes and nods. “I won't,” he promises, knowing damn well he will keep it with his life. Coriolanus gets inside the train after saying goodbye. He stops before he opens the door to the cabin you were sitting in. He pulls up the sleeve of his shirt to look at his wrist. He grins as he sees the scar reverted to the number most important to you.
It was today's date.
Coriolanus slides the door and walks to his future.
Coriolanus walks to you.

Coriolanus knew that winning the Hunger Games was impossible with Lucy Gray as his tribute. She could sing well and get any crowd to flaunt over her. She could care for those around her and get everyone and everything to fall for her charms. But, she couldn’t fight if she wanted to.
This led to Coriolanus sitting at his desk, eyes flickering between his father’s photo, a photograph of him as a baby with his mother, and a framed picture of him and you, looking at each other with pure adoration. He let a small smile slip through his messy thoughts, focusing on you. He loved everything about you.
Thus, he knew what he had to do to win for you and for his family. Even if it meant playing dirty. Even if it meant toying with another’s emotions.
“Lucy Gray,” Coriolanus whispered into the darkness, looking around the Capitol Zoo’s cage. “Lucy Gray!”
“You’re alive.” Lucy Gray whispered as she came over, gripping the iron bars.
“Hey, those bombs? They have changed everything.” He started, determined to get his plan through. “They blew the walls out, so that means you can escape up in the stands. There’s a hole down in the floor,” He flickered his eyes to her lips and back up to her eyes. “Leads down to some tunnels. I’ve tried it, you can disappear down there.”
She nodded, letting him clasp his hand over her own.
“So, the moment you hear that bell ring, you ignore the weapons in the middle and run, as fast as you can for that hole.” He spoke with urgency, squeezing her hand. “And you find a place to hide down below. Alone.”
“Alone? No, Jessup’s my friend.”
“No. The moment that bell rings, you can’t trust anyone, not even Jessup.” His eyes wander the rest of the enclosure. “Just lay low down there until it’s safe to come out.”
Lucy Gray shook her head in appreciation, looking between his eyes. “Thank you for taking care of me.”
“I can’t let you die. I saved you.” Coriolanus got closer to her, face merely a few centimeters away. “I saved you once, I’m not risking it again.”
A tear fell down her face, “I’m sorry. I’m more hopeful during the daytime, but when it gets dark…”
“It’s okay.” He wiped her face off with his father’s handkerchief, ensuring she was focused on him. “It’s okay. I am going to get you out here. I promise.” He smiles, “Back to the Covey.”
Lucy Gray studied his face. All she saw was true intentions. After a few beats, she leaned in for a kiss, one she somehow needed from the male presented in front of her.
And he let her.
Coriolanus Snow let Lucy Gray Baird kiss him. He let one hand reach to lightly cup her cheek, deepening the kiss ever so slightly.
He knew it was wrong. So wrong. But, he only did it for you.
I’m sorry.
“Is this real?” He asks her after separating, regret filling his mind. “Just tell me, if I’m going to risk everything… That song—“
I’m so sorry, beautiful. I promise I’ll make it up to you, I promise. I’m so sorry.
“That song was payback, that’s all.” Lucy Gray cut him off, shaking her head. “My old boyfriend, Billy Taupe, he was cheating on me with the mayor’s daughter.”
I don’t love her. I love you.
“The girl from the reaping?”
“Yeah, she got crazy jealous. She had her Pa read my name up on that stage. And now everyone will know what they did to me.” She lifted her chin up.
“Yeah.” Coriolanus reached into his shirt, grabbing his mother’s compact. “Take this.”
“No. No, it’s too fine—“
“It’s not a gift. It’s a loan.” He grabbed her hands, squeezing them. “What’s in here, don’t touch it. Don’t even breathe it in because small amounts can be deadly.” He took her chin gently, forcing her to look at him. “Look, I can see what war does to people, okay? I’ve seen it. And there will come a time when you need this when you need to act. We all do things we’re not proud of to survive.” Coriolanus planted one last kiss on her lips, shutting his eyes.
This is all for you, beautiful, I promise. I’m sorry.
“Hey? We are going to win this, Lucy Gray.” He rubbed her cheek, wiping one last tear. “We are going to win this together.”
Tumblr media
With final hugs and kisses from Grandma’am and Tigris, Coriolanus left the penthouse with an unbalanced conscience and the smallest possible amount of hope of winning the Tenth Annual Hunger Games. He was going to pick you up and then walk toward the Citadel where he was to be watching his tribute along with his peers, but the Lovett car was waiting right outside; Your tinted window rolled down with your head resting in your arm.
He did a quick jog over to you — despite the slight limp he had — and bent over to peck your lips. “Aren’t you a wonderful surprise?”
“Good morning, Coryo.” You return the gesture two more times, smiling. He stood there for a minute, admiring you before you spoke again. “Are you just going to stand there? Or do you want to get in the car?”
He shook his head at you and got inside, rolling the window up and shutting the divider between the driver and the backseats. “I was heading out to get you, my love.”
You shrug, letting yourself sink into the comfort of his arms. “Do you want me to leave? I can leave you here and let you come pick me up—”
“Don’t you dare leave me.” He locks you in his embrace. “Anywhere we go, you stay with me, remember?”
You hum and peck his jaw. “I know.”
Coriolanus smiles at your action tilting his head to meet your lips. He stared into your eyes, a smile etching its way onto his face. “What if we do something fun?”
“Hm, when?” You ask in between kisses, letting him bring you closer.
“Right now.” He brings a hand up to your cheek, pushing you slightly. “We have time.”
“Do we?” You wrap your arms behind his neck and wrap your finger around his curls, tugging softly. “I think we have twenty minutes.”
“Perfect.” He grinned, holding you close as you both fell on top of the backseat, an airy laugh coming from you. “Just enough time.”
The car ride was filled with Coriolanus’ desire to prove his worth of loving you, despite you not knowing what he had even done earlier that morning. Sadly, both of you did not take into account how short twenty minutes truly were.
“Miss Lovett? We’ve arrived at the Capitol’s Citadel.” Your driver knocked on the divider, shifting the car gear into park.
Coriolanus watched as your eyes widened, chuckling as a planted one last kiss on your lips.
“Thank you! We’ll be out soon!” You quickly reply and push your boyfriend off of you, sifting through the discarded clothes in the small space. “It would be nice if you helped and got dressed, Coryo.”
“Right.” He murmured, squeezing your hips.
Without fail, you both got dressed as swiftly as possible. You rubbed light lipstick stains of Coriolanus while he straightened out your blazer and top, adjusting it just right to cover the newly formed bruises across your collarbone.
After checking each other one last time, Coriolanus stepped out of the vehicle, waving to the cars waiting behind as a way to make peace with them. He set his hand out to guide you onto the concrete, nodding to your driver as you made it.
“Are you sure I look fine?” You ask with worry laced in your tone, looking across the area filled with Academy rouge.
“You look beautiful.” He linked your arms together and lowered his head to yours, kissing the side. “Thank god for your tinted windows, hm?”
“We’re done with this conversation now.” You reach for your necklace, face flushed. He chuckled at you before silence took over, only the shuffles from you and others emerged.
“Clemmie visited me yesterday.” You look up at him, tilting your head.
“She did?” Coriolanus questioned you, glancing over. “How is she?”
“She’s okay… She won’t be participating as a mentor anymore.” You look around before continuing, voice almost in a whisper. “She said Dr. Gaul was trying to kill her.”
“What?” He almost asked in disbelief.
“Coryo, she had scales appearing on her skin.” You shiver as you recall the memory. “It’s awful.”
“I’m sure Dr. Gaul didn’t want to kill her. I think she just wanted to frighten her.”
You look at him, confusion creeping onto your face as you enter the main viewing and seating area. “By letting her creations bite Clemmie? That’s not—“
“That friend of yours, Plinth,” Dean Highbottom interrupts your conversation, causing you both to whip your heads around to him. “You might want to find him a seat near the door.”
Coriolanus gave him a curt nod and led you down the stairs toward where the rest of the Academy mentors were stationed.
“What was that about?” You mutter, body close to his as he has his hand around your waist.
“I don’t know.”
You hum, flickering your eyes to the press and reporters stationed in every corner of the room, not forgetting the cameras that would focus in on Flickerman and the mentors’ reactions.
“Coryo. Y/N.” Sejanus calls out from Coriolanus’ right, making you both head in his direction.
Coriolanus flexes his hand on your waist, “Hey.”
“How’re you doing? You guys alright?” The young Plinth asks politely, squeezing your arm.
“We’re doing better.” You give him a small smile.
“Look over here please.” A photographer held his camera in front of the three of you, chasing your conversation to be cut off once more.
Coriolanus tightens his hold on your waist as you lean into him with one arm wrapped around his torso whilst the other includes Sejanus. The blond let a small smirk come across his face, you let a camera smile take over, and Sejanus kept a neutral face, capturing the essence of different Capitol students.
After the flashing of the camera, the photographer left, your smile fading and Coriolanus’ smirk dropping.
“Alright, later.” Sejanus nods a bye to the both of you, heading to his designated station.
“I’ll catch up with you later, okay?” Coriolanus tilted his head down to yours as the music announcing the start of the live stream began.
“M’kay.” You push on your tippy toes and peck his lips. “Love you, good luck.”
“I love you more.” He placed a chaste kiss to your lips then your temple.
Lucretius Flickerman began directing everyone on how they should behave, scolding Festus for not already being in his seat. Your leg bounced up and down as Flickerman continued his spiel, eyeing the screen with the bright letters reading THE HUNGER GAMES.
The livestream started and eyes immediately found Dill who was with Wovey and Lucy Gray, each being escorted by Peacekeepers. Your heart started to beat faster as her Peacekeeper pushed her with his rifle, shoving her over to her marker.
“Stay with Reaper.” You mumble as the camera view switches to the other tributes, clutching your silver rose in your hand.
The view then pans over to a District Three tribute, zooming in on her coughing, panicked state. She seemed to be staring at something in the arena that put her in such distress.
Finally, the camera finally shifts to what the girl is staring at making you silently gasp. The District Two tribute — Marcus — was tied up against two fallen concrete poles, the sight staying on the screen far longer than anyone would have liked.
“Oo, Marcus.” Flickerman looked back into the camera stationed inside the Citadel. “Guess we can all sleep better now knowing that he’s off the streets.”
You flinched when Sejanus stood and threw his desk across the front, screaming toward everyone watching the live and those inside the building.
“You’re monsters! All of you!” He yells as his eyes become glassy. Sejanus storms out of the room, your eyes following him in sorrow. You knew that Sejanus was friends with Marcus, so the heartache was just worse.
The host starts his countdown, his voice echoing throughout the room.
“Stay put.” You whisper as the horn blares, watching as the camera angles switch every few seconds. You blow out a breath when Reaper comes over to protect Dill, shutting your eyes knowing she is safe.
The bloodbath left 13 tributes left, Dill and Lucy Gray remaining. Truly you wanted Dill to get out alive, but how could she if Reaper was helping?
Would there always be one winner?
Tumblr media
“Can I leave?” You ask Dean Highbottom as he walks behind you, fidgeting with the buttons on your desk. “I’ll be right back.”
“No one is stopping you, Miss Lovett.” He gestures.
You nod, standing and making your way over to Coriolanus. You run your hand from one of his shoulders to the other, bending down to his ear. “I’ll be back, Coryo. I’m starving.”
His eyes never leave the screen as he takes your hand, kissing the back of it. “Bring me something, yeah?”
“Sure.” You frown, hoping he would have gotten up to at least stretch.
You left the room and you headed to the dining area right outside, scanning the different food options for the day. Taking into account that you would most likely be staying inside the Citadel for much longer, you opted for the filling foods — also known as pasta.
“Y/N.” Sejanus finds you, a surprised look appearing on his face for a split second. “What are you doing here?”
“Getting food.” You say although it sounded more like a question. “What are you doing here?”
“I didn’t want to head home. I feel like it would be worse to deal with everything.” He crosses his arms, following you to a table. “Anything else happened while I left?”
You shake your head, taking a sip from your water. “Just the same things. I’m not sure anything else would surprise you too much with what happened.”
Sejanus hums, sinking down into his chair. “Are you… Are you really okay with the games happening? I mean, I know it can’t be easy watching all those deaths happen.”
Looking around the dining area before responding, you lower your voice. “I despise the games, Sej. Everything I said to Dr. Gaul was all for show, but I don’t have any power here. I’m just a woman in the Capitol. The only ones with power are those higher up.”
“I’m not asking you to stop the games right now. But would you join a rebellion against the Capitol, defending those living in the Districts?”
You search his eyes, “I don’t know. I don’t want to cause another war. You know how bad it was…”
“I know, I know. But imagine if we won? The games would be over and no child would ever have to go through this. Not a Capitol student nor a District child.” He sat up straighter and clasped his hands together, looking at you with seriousness. “Just— I can’t go through another game, flower. You know it best.”
“I know.” You look down, playing with your food. Suddenly, you had lost your appetite. “What would the plan exactly be, Sej? You can’t just go through with this with no plan.”
The smallest smile stretches across his face, “I can’t tell you. Only if you agree to help take down the games and such.”
You bite the inside of your cheek, “Sejanus, this is a dangerous game you’re playing.”
“It only takes one action to change something, Y/N.” He sighs.
You let silence take over, glancing around the dining area and meeting Dr. Gaul’s piercing eyes, staring dead straight at you. She gave you her signature sinister grin, nodding at you in acknowledgment. You give her a wry smile, tilting your head back down to the table.
“I have to go.” You mutter, pushing yourself out of the seat, and rush back to the viewing room — not before grabbing Coriolanus’ favorite snack.
Tumblr media
As night fell over Panem, almost everyone left the Capitol’s Citadel. The only ones left were you and Coriolanus. You fell asleep at your station waiting for Coriolanhs while he fell asleep waiting for something to happen inside the arena. All the lights were shut down and the bright screen at the very front changed from its original design to the game footage again, Dr. Gaul took quick steps over to where Coriolanus was sleeping.
“Mr. Snow.” Dr Gaul stood before the male, Coriolanus immediately waking up from his seat.
He looked at her stone face, creasing his brows. “What happened? Is it Lucy Gray?”
“Unless you can put a leash on your deluded classmate, she might as well be dead as far as you’re concerned.” She leaned against his computer and shifted so he could see the screen encasing Sejanus inside the arena.
“Sejanus?” He whispers out.
“Bread crumbs.” She scoffed at the District-made Capitol boy. “I believe sustenance for a fallen comrade on his final journey. A District Two superstition.” She held the computer screen again and faced Coriolanus. “I’ll work on finding the Peacekeeper he bribed to get him in, and cut out their tongue. In the meantime, I need someone to get him out right now.”
Coriolanus averts his gaze to his left, “You should send Peacekeepers in.”
“Only to have him bolt and hide like a rabbit? Felix Ravinstill is fighting for his life in the hospital, Mr. Snow.” Dr. Gaul catches his look toward your sleeping figure. “I will not have these rebels make a further mockery of my Games. Anyone sees us lose control of this arena, it might as well be sounding a horn to the districts to revolt.” She spits out. “You choose to be friends with this radical. You want him to end the Games tonight?”
“It’ll look a lot worse if the tributes kill two of us.” He spoke with confidence, not wanting to enter the area.
“Would you rather have your flower get him instead Or rather the both of you? It seems as if Sejanus cares an awful lot more about her than you. They did have a good chat in the dining room while you stayed here to watch the games.” She says as a twinge of jealousy and fury passes through Coriolanus’ features.
She hums at him, “Who knows? If you get him out unscathed, I’ll whisper your name in his father’s ear. You still want that Plinth Prize, don’t you? I’ll freeze the feed for an hour. I estimate that’s all we have until the people notice.”
Dr. Gaul gave him one last look before leaving the vicinity to freeze the video. Coriolanus waited until she left to go to you, softly shaking you awake.
“Beautiful?”
You hum, still half-asleep.
“You need to get up and go home, my love.” Coriolanus took your face in his hands and rubbed your cheek, needing you to wake up.
“Why?” You mumbled. “I’ll be fine here.”
“No, you’ll be here alone. I don’t want you to be.” He kissed your head. “Come on.”
“Why won’t you stay?”
“I have to get Sejanus out of the arena.” He muttered, making your eyes go wide.
You look over at the screen, watching Sejanus kneel by his fallen friend. “Why is he in there?”
“It doesn’t matter, but he’ll die if I don’t get him out,” Coriolanus spoke with a strict voice, sending an odd feeling to your stomach. “I need you to go home, beautiful.”
“No! I won’t let you go in there, Coryo.” You stand now, grabbing his arm like he would leave any second. “Why can’t someone else do it?”
“Dr. Gaul—“
You roll your eyes, “Are you seriously going in there just because she told you to?”
“She threatened to send you in there.” He whisper-shouted at you, almost as if there were people around to watch. “Now listen and go home, Y/N.”
You crease your brows and scoff, pushing away from him as you leave the Citadel. Coriolanus shook his head at you, but left, heading toward the arena to get Sejanus out.
But of course, you were stubborn enough to not listen and follow him closely to the arena. The Peacekeepers wouldn’t let you go inside, but they did let you wait until they came out.
“Open the gate! Open the gate!”
You heard Coriolanus’ scream from inside the arena, making you whip your head toward the Peacekeepers. He ran faster at your figure being present, quickly engulfing your body as he made it out of the arena, protecting you. Coral’s pitchfork hit the metal bars, making the both of you flinch at the noise.
“Coriolanus!” You grab his face in your hands, scanning his features. “Are you okay? I didn’t—”
“What are you doing here?” He spoke through his teeth, taking in sharp breaths. “I told you to go home.”
“I couldn’t just leave you, Coryo.” You frown, your eyes are glassy at the way he breathed heavily and his dirtied figure. “Everywhere we go, I stay with you.”
“You are horribly headstrong, my love.” He leaned his forehead on yours, shutting his eyes.
“Watch those screens, gorgeous,” Coral says as she bangs the pitchfork on the gates. “ ‘Cause I may have missed you tonight, but your songbird’s next on my list.”
She left as you stood holding your boyfriend’s face, still searching him for any injuries.
“Where did you get hurt?” You murmur as he winces at the sudden pain he received after the rush disappeared. He reached for his back, pressing on the wound he obtained from inside. You take his hand and remove it from damaging the wound any further.
“I’m… I’m sorry. Coryo, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.” Sejanus repeated from his knelt position. “For all of it…”
You give him a sad look, running your hand up and down Coriolanus’ arm. “It’s not your fault, Sejanus.”
“It’s all my fault.” He shook his head. “I’m so sorry.” The sound of car doors opening catches your attention, Strabo Plinth and his wife stepping out. “My father… Let the buying begin.”
Sejanus’ mother rushed over to him, bringing him into an embrace as they exchanged words. Strabo Plinth nodded in your and Coriolanus’ direction before Peacekeepers grabbed the both of you.
Dr. Gaul had a car waiting for him at the front of the arena, sending him over to the laboratory. Coriolanus made sure you tagged along for two reasons.
One, he had to make sure you were safe now that it was really late. Two, he was far more distraught that he murdered a tribute, needing your around for comfort.
You held Coriolanus’ jacket as he held your free hand, rubbing circles to calm himself as you entered the Gamemaker’s building.
“Snow stormed down. Down in his head. It stormed down on his head. And now the boy is dead.” Dr. Gaul spoke from her desk, hands put together as she spotted the two of you. She chuckled, “You’ve had enough of the games tonight, I see. Come sit, I’ll stitch you up.”
“You should go home now.” Coriolanus turned to you, taking his jacket from your arm.
“No.” You insist, standing your ground. “I can’t. Not after what happened inside—“
“Beautiful, go home. Don’t worry about me.” He stroked your cheek, his eyes glassy this time. “Promise me you’ll go home?”
“You are insufferable, Coriolanus.” You wipe a tear from his face. “I promise.”
“Take the car.” He presses a quick yet tender kiss to your lips. “I love you.”
You nod, “Love you too.”
For now, you left with Coriolanus’ love and worry for him while Coriolanus stayed with a more ruined conscience and the thought of keeping you safe.
With every thought consuming both of your minds, neither of you would know how much shit was about to go down and how much it would affect your lives.
All because of a deal.

"Coryo!" You grin, running out of the house and down the front porch steps, throwing your arms around his shoulders as soon as you can reach him. It had only been a few days since you'd seen him, but you had to do what you had to do. Truth be told, you did miss him, though.
He chuckles as he catches you, carefully letting you down after a moment. "Hey, Y/N/N, how's it going?"
"I'm good." You grin, turning back at the sound of people laughing inside the house. "You have to come in to meet Ash. He's gonna come with us today, and Lucy Gray is packing a picnic! It's gonna be so fun."
"Who?" Coriolanus asks, but you're already gone, heading back up to the house. An uneasy feeling settles in his gut as he follows you, shoving his hands into his pockets as he enters the home. The kids are trying to gather things into bags, and Lucy Gray is packing some food to bring with the group out to the meadow.
You, on the other hand, are wrapped around the arm of a boy who looks like he belongs in the Capitol Zoo. "Coryo, this is Ash. We met at the Hob the other night." You explain, looking between the two of them as Coriolanus clenches his jaw.
"Nice to meet you." He says through gritted teeth, reaching out out of habit to shake the boy's hand. He's got dark hair, and somehow darker eyes. Immediately, he doesn't trust him.
"You too, man. Love the peacekeeper getup." He chuckles, shaking his hand briefly and Coryo quickly recoils to wipe his hand on his pants.
"Oh, Coryo is a peacekeeper." You explain, smiling up at Ash as he drapes an arm around your waist.
"We're in the business of trusting those monsters now?" Ash asks, somehow maintaining a lighthearted tone. Like it was a joke, like Coriolanus was nothing more than his position.
"Only a couple." You laugh, shocking Coryo completely. Not so much as a word in his defense while this district trash said such horrible things about him. He was back to not even being able to recognize you. "Coryo is my best friend. We've known each other since we were kids. Sejanus too."
Best friend... That's it?
"That makes sense then." Ash nods, and Coryo stands up taller as Ash not so subtly sizes him up.
"You know, Sejanus has been awfully chummy with Billy Taupe and his friends. Ash is one of them." You say to Coryo quietly, taking up the rear of the Covey as all of you walk out to the meadow behind the house. "Have you noticed?"
He hums in acknowledgment, thinking it over. "It is odd." He agrees. He has noticed your mutual friend sneaking away on any nights out they could spare, and just generally being more cagey than usual. And it makes more sense that his name would mean anything to your new friend.
"Have you asked him about it?"
"No." He shakes his head. "You should, though. He trusts you more."
"That's not true." You laugh. "You are his best friend, after all."
"As are you." He raises an eyebrow at you.
"Oh, please. He throws that term around too loosely." You roll your eyes playfully.
"And you don't?" He asks, obviously referring to how you called him your best friend earlier. It's working. This was evidence that referring to him that way was driving him crazy- you had him wrapped around your finger, and you loved the feeling.
"Nope." You grin, bumping him with your shoulder. "Have I told you the haircut is really working for you? Because it is."
"Thank you. It wasn't by choice." He explains, smiling at the compliment but shrugging it off.
"I figured." You laugh, reaching up to run your hand over his shaved head. "I miss your curls, though..."
"Y/N! Come here!" Ash calls from up ahead, walking backward now as he waves for you to join him.
"Coming!" You call back, immediately ditching Coryo to catch up with him.
Coryo cringes at how his boots sink into the dirt and how you let Ash yell at you like that. Like you were a dog. You'd hardly known the guy for a few days and he's already talking down to you, Coryo is appalled at your taste. You run up to Ash, immediately reaching up and sticking your hand in his unbrushed hair. If Coryo was a brunette and didn't shower ever, that's probably what his hair would look like. It made him nauseous.
The following night, after Coriolanus complained endlessly to you about the birds he had to spend most of his days trapping, you had a stroke of absolute genius. He really, really hates those birds, just as much as you can tell he already hates Ash.
As the sun is setting over the field surrounding the hanging tree, you tell Lucy Gray you're going for a walk, and off you go into the woods with only your mind to keep you company.
They'd set so many traps it was unbelievable, and a good amount had trapped some of the songbirds inside. They were beautiful creatures, timid, too, for birds who were typically so vocal. They were products of the Capitol, so that would only make sense. You were careful not to make a sound as you opened every trap you could reach. You could just hope that by the time Coryo and his group arrived in the morning, they hadn't been trapped again.
You knew this was likely considered treason, interfering with government projects, but you didn't have a whole lot to lose, and seeing the frustration on Coryo's face when he ranted about how stubborn these birds were made the risk well worth it. It wasn't the revenge you were used to doling out to people who had wronged you, but you had been working on changing, after all.
After setting free no less than twenty birds that blew your hair back out of your face as they shot out of their cages, occasionally thanking you by singing your footsteps back to you or clawing at your arms, you made your way back to the street to head back to Lucy Gray's home.
You sucked your teeth over the stinging in your skin from the small cuts and scrapes that nnow littered your forearms. You suddenly understood why Coriolanus hated the creatures. They were beautiful singers, but clearly so inconsiderate. They'd be trapped again anyways, you were just delaying the inevitable to piss off your friend. They got scratches on you, but your people would still win the war.
You lift the excess fabric of your skirt to pat the beading and drying blood off of your arms as you walk. The town was quiet, only a few people scattered around very rarely. Either homeless or drunk, minding their business as you silently made your way down the dimly lit streets toward the seam. You recognize you're almost home when you pass the Hob, through the alley where Coriolanus graced you with his subpar apology. Squinting toward that same back exit as the door creaks open, you move across the alley to hug the opposite wall as you walk, trying to mind your business.
"Yeah, okay. I'll arrange for that. Thank you, yeah. We'll work it out. I promise." Was that... Sejanus? Your theory is confirmed when the speaker steps out into the alley. It was quiet, a weeknight. If the Hob had been open, it was deadly quiet by this hour.
"Sejanus?" You call out, speaking without thinking.
The boy jumps, slamming the door behind himself and looking toward you quickly. "Y/N? What are you doing here?" You can see the panic in his eyes as you get closer, tucking your bloody and exposed arms behind your back.
"Just out for a walk. I wanted to look at the stars." You nod up to the unpolluted and clear sky to accentuate your point. The sky didn't look like this at home. "What about you?"
"Oh! Uh, same." He lies. "It sure is beautiful out tonight."
"It is." You agree, looking up at the stars for a beat while you cross your arms over your chest in the silence. "Who were you talking to?"
As he panics you try and tuck your arms back once more, the stinging of movement reminding you of why you hid them in the first place. "Just, uh, no one. Myself."
You hum in response. Sejanus made his fake story hard to believe. "Why don't you trust me?" You ask, tilting your head at him. "I feel like after all we've been through, you should trust me more."
"I do trust you." He replies quickly. "It's less about that, more about... I don't want you to get involved. It's better for you."
"Is Coriolanus involved?"
"No. No, he doesn't know anything. Same as you."
You nod slightly, looking him up and down. "Well... If you need help or you're in a tough spot, come to us, okay? There are few people you can trust out here. We have to have each other's backs."
"No, no, it's not like that." He assures you. "But okay. If I need help, I'll ask."
You smile. "Well, you better get back. Don't want to get caught out so late."
"You too, Sage."
You chuckle, giving him a quick wave as you walk back away from him.
Even in the dim lighting, he could see the marks across your arm that you tucked away with your turn, sauntering away casually in the direction of your current home on the Seam.
Coriolanus was walking a beat alongside the market almost a week later, the one his bunkmate usually took, but today he was too hungover to crawl out of bed. Coryo didn't have the stomach to watch you drool all over that district boy today, so he decided to just take the shift for his new friend instead of bothering to see you. Maybe, this would result in Beanpole owing him a favour anyway, and that was always nice to have.
It was a Thursday, so not all that busy at the market. It was mostly just mother's gathering food and supplies, which left him incredibly bored for most of the morning. He was wallowing in his self-pity when something finally drew his attention. Your laugh. He would know it anywhere. He scans the street again, posture straight as he tries to track you down, which doesn't take long.
Of course, there you are with your new friend, his arm over your shoulder as you hold his hand against your chest. God, Coriolanus hopes you don't spot him. He looks straight ahead, chewing on the inside of his cheek and wishing he could disappear. You were torturing him, the fact that you couldn't see that, or you just didn't care, was driving him insane. It was worse than if you had just stayed in the Capitol.
Now, he can't help but focus on your voice on the mostly quiet street.
"No, I know!" You giggle, looking sideways at Coriolanus who stood at the edge of the street. You're sure by now he had seen you. You didn't know he would be here, normally he wouldn't, but it makes the task of agreeing to spend time with Ash more bearable. At least it was for a reason. "I've never touched a mandolin before, how could they expect me to pick it up in one night?"
"Well, I'd sure be surprised if you could. No one learns that fast." Ash replies, pressing a kiss to the side of your head. You hate it, you want to shove him off and hit him where it hurts, but you can't. At least Coryo was here to witness it.
"True." You nod, walking with him slowly past the stalls, browsing at some of the small trinkets and goods they had. It seemed to be all random things, which was foreign to you. Back home, every store had a purpose, even after the war the Capitol held onto this sophistication. "This is so pretty!" You smile, spinning out from under his arm to get a closer look at a dress someone had made. It was shorter than your skirt, typically one that would be worn by a child in this region, but it was oversized enough that you could wear it and it would land mid-thigh.
"How much is this?" You ask the woman sitting behind the wooden table, holding up the dress that she had clearly made.
"Forty." She answers, nodding to you. "It's steep, but I put a lot of work into it. It'll last your daughter a long time."
"Oh, no." You giggle, shaking your head. "I was thinking for me." You say, lifting part of the fabric to admire the stitches.
"For you?" Ash asks, raising an eyebrow at you.
"Yes, what do you think?" You reply, holding it up in front of you. "I like the red accents. It's beautifully made."
"You'll look like a damn prostitute," Ash replies without missing a beat. "That's what I think."
You bite your lip, face going red as you look down at it draped against your body. You're not sure if it's from anger or embarrassment. You sigh, folding it up again and turning to the woman who looks shocked. "I'll take it." You smile suddenly, placing it back down while you dig out some cash from your pocket, handing her fifty. "And don't worry about making change, I just hate carrying coins around."
"Thank you, dear. You enjoy." She smiles gratefully, taking the money and tucking it away in her pocket. You nod at her, and before you even turn around with the new dress under your arm you feel a firm grip on your skin, yanking you away from the stall and into a side street.
"Hey! Let me go!" You shout, trying to peel Ash's grip from your arm where it's digging in so tight it's already flushing the areas and opening your healed scratches from the birds, smearing the drops of blood across your skin.
"No, you listen to me." He says, dropping your arm in favour of pointing a finger right in your face as you're backed up against the wall. "If you're gonna be my girl, I'm not letting you walk around like some kind of whore. Do you understand?" He says, clearly fumingly angry by now.
You laugh, rolling your eyes. "You don't scare me, you're a district-born loser with no fucking job! How dare you try and tell me what to do with my-"
You're cut off when he smacks you. You take a shaky breath, instinctively holding the side of your face where his palm made contact. You feel your confidence faltering with the heat pulsing under your skin, and with your eyes closed in this back alley, suddenly you're back home. But you're not. You're not home, and he's not your father, and here, you're free. You're gonna kill him.
You open your eyes and stand up straighter, looking him dead on as your chest heaves with anger. You shove him back, pulling your arm back in his moment of shock to take a proper swing at him as he scrambles to push you back up against the wall. In your rage, you failed to account for the fact that he was much bigger than you.
"Hey! Back off her! Now!" Coriolanus shouts, clicking the safety off his gun before Ash can lay another hit on you, gun aimed unwaveringly at the boy as he quickly walks toward the two of you.
Ash panics, and you feel this as the forearm he had pressed up against your throat, pinning you to the wall loosened its hold and you shoved him off just in time for Coryo to push his way between the two of you, the barrel of his gun now inches from Ash's nose.
He raises his hands in surrender. "Hey, we're cool. I didn't do nothin' to her."
Coriolanus is fighting every urge to just pull the trigger on the loaded weapon in his hands. For you. For this asshole hurting you, for touching you, for the crime of even looking at you, he should do it. He breathes heavily, every muscle in his jaw constricted so tightly he's sure it'll ache for weeks.
You watch over your friend's shoulder, watching the gears turning in his head. Do it, you want to tell him, but even in your anger you can see that's irrational, so you keep your mouth shut.
Coryo sighs, lowering his weapon to use it to gesture to the street. "Get out of here." He mumbles, deciding to let him go. "And never so much as look at her again, understand?" You're almost a little disappointed as Ash spits on the ground at your feet, starting to walk away when Coryo turns the gun faster than you can process and jabs the butt end of it into Ash's face. A chilling crack echoes out against the crumbling walls surrounding you and he hits the ground, unconscious with an obviously broken nose.
Coryo is panting as he turns back to you, quickly throwing the gun back over his shoulder. "Are you okay?" He asks, reaching out and holding your shoulders, hands running down your arms quickly to look over the injuries. "Did he do this to you?" He looks over the scattered cuts and scratches. He could tell they were healing, and they were inconsistent with what could be done with a blade or a man-made weapon, so he deducts quickly that you must have fallen into the wrong bush or something. Maybe when you were gardening.
You shake your head quickly, eyes locked on the boy on the ground.
"Hey, no, look at me. Are you okay?" Coryo asks again, grabbing your chin and forcing you to look at him. He nods expectantly, waiting for you to answer.
"Yes. Fine." You whisper shamefully, giving a slight nod under his gentle hold.
"C'mere..." He mutters, pulling you closer to hug him. He sighs, holding the back of your head and gently smoothing down your hair. It shocks him when you start to shake, trying to muffle your crying in the fabric of his uniform. He shouldn't have waited so long. He took his eyes off you for less than a minute to maintain his own sanity, and this is what happened.
You knew you were safe with Coryo, this was your fault for straying from that over some petty anger. He had betrayed you, sure, but he told you it was because he only wanted to help. If you had listened, none of this would have happened. You should have known he was right. At least he hadn't abandoned you, he'd even saved you. You were lucky he was even around.
"He hit me." You sniff through sobs, gripping tightly onto the back of his grey uniform. "I didn't, I don't know why, I-"
"Hey, hey, hey..." Coryo shushes you, pressing his lips to the top of your head. "I've got you. You're safe now. I'm here."
"I'm sorry..." You sniff, overtaken by the foolishness of your own decisions. For denying your feelings for him in a way that only resulted in hurting the both of you.
Coryo has to fight back a smile as he takes in the familiar scent of your hair. "Don't be." He whispers, kissing your head. "I'll always protect you."
You nod against his chest, locking yourself firmly into his grasp. Even as your blood dried and stuck to his coldly grey uniform, you found it hard to let him go.

After you cheated to help your tribute, Lucy Gray, you were banished to none other than District 12. Well, at first it was said to be 11, but you bribed the Peacekeeper’s with the remaining money you had.
At least in banishment you could attempt to find your songbird.
It was quite upsetting at first when you heard the news, mainly because you had to leave your friends behind, Coriolanus and Sejanus. Your family didn’t care much for you, and you felt the same about them.
But you didn’t have much to loose, so you were content with the decision— even if life in the Districts was very different than what you had previously known.
The first week, you didn’t see a glimpse of the brunette, but you were also extremely busy with settling in. You got a small apartment and a job as a nurse for the Peacekeepers.
It wasn’t until Saturday night when you were invited by some random girl from work to the local pub, known as the Hob. Needing some liquid courage you decided why not and tagged along.
But the second you stepped into those doors and heard that all-too familiar beautiful voice singing, your heart damn near stopped.
You can’t take my charm,
You can’t take my humor.
You can’t take my wealth, ‘cause it’s just a rumor.
Nothing you can take was ever worth keeping,
No, nothing you can take was ever worth keeping.
She sung the same song she did the first time you saw her, the smile on your face only growing as she came into view. You continued your walk throughout the crowd, splitting off with the people you came with to get closer to the girl.
Thinkin’ your so fine, thinkin’ you can have mine.
Thinkin’ your in control, think you’ll change me,
Maybe rearrange me, think again if that’s your goal!
She smiled brightly as she strummed her guitar for the intermission, as when she turned her eyes fell onto you. Shock was obvious on her face, the girl almost stopping the strumming of her guitar by it. The wide eyes she had were replaced with smiling ones as it sank in. You sent a small wave and a nod her way, the girl’s smiling only growing as she ran back up to the mic.
Can’t take my sass, can’t talk my talkin’.
You can kiss my ass, then keep on walkin’.
Nothing you could take was ever worth keepin’.
Oh, nothin’ you could take was ever worth keepin’.
She sang her heart out, her eyes and that smile never leaving your gaze.
Nothing you could take from me is worth dirt.
Take it, ‘cause I’d give it free, it won’t hurt.
Nothing you could take was ever worth keepin’.
No, nothing you could take was ever worth keepin’.
Her and the Covey Band finished the song with cheers and claps erupting from the crowd, more specifically, you.
“Thank you, 12, for another night.” She bowed, nodding before leaving the stage.
You followed her with your gaze, shuffling through the crowd in an attempt to get to her. After a moment of shoving and apologizing, you finally got backstage.
You walked through the corridor. “Lucy Gray?” You called, cautious with your steps. You nearly jumped out of your skin when she jumped on your back.
She let out giggles at your yelp, smiling against your hair as she left kisses on your neck and shoulders. The feeling of her lips on your skin sent tingles down your spine as you remembered the kisses you shared through fences in the moonlight.
“Y/N!” She smiled, jumping off your back to properly hug you. She pulled your into her arms, her head going into the crook of your neck.
“Hi,” You whispered as she pulled back, a smile on her face.
“I thought I’d never see you again, oh, I thought they killed you. That’s what the rumors around here said.” Her southern drawl mixed with her concern pulled a smile out of you.
“I’m okay, they just banished me here.” You explained, you hand coming up to rub her worry lines away with your thumb. She smiled at the action, her hand rubbing your arm lovingly. “Other than a few punches, they treated me well. Bribed ‘em into putting me in twelve, y’know I had to come back for my songbird.” You brushed some hair behind her ear.
She turned a light shade of pink at the nickname you gave to her the first time you met at the train station. “How long are you stayin’?”
“Forever, I guess.” You shrugged. “I don’t really have anyone else to go back to, really. My parents pretty much disobeyed me, and all I had at the Capitol were Coryo and Sejanus.”
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” She grabbed your hand, squeezing.
“It’s alright, bird. I’m with you, that makes it okay.” You teased, smiling.
She stared into your eyes for a moment, her honey eyes flickering down to your lips. Without a word, she turned on her heel, her hand still laced with yours and pulled you into a small room.
You followed with furrowed eyebrows, opening your mouth to say something, but the second the door closed you were pinned to it, her lips on yours.
You moaned against her lips in shock, your hands coming up to cup her cheeks, deepening the kiss. Her hands squeezed your hips as she smiled against your lips. When you pulled back for air, the smile never left her face.
“I missed you, so much.” She whispered. “I can’t wait to introduce you to the Covey, they’re gonna love you.”
Your thumb rubbed against the scar on her cheekbone. “I can’t wait either, bird.”
She left another kiss on your lips before turning on her heel, and running to the corner, rummaging through a chest on the floor.
You walked over to the middle of the room, a love-sick smile on your face as you watched the girl.
She turned back to you with the same rose you gave her all those weeks ago in the train station, a mischievous glint in her eye. When she was eye to eye with you, she presented it with a curtesy.
“Y/N, will you give me the honorable title of your girlfriend?” She asked, a teasing smile on her face with a serious tone in her voice.
“Why, yes, Ms. Baird, I would love to.” You accepted the rose, your cheeks dusted pink as she ran forward to connect your lips again, giggling.
Your heart was full as you held your songbird, love being shared in your kiss. Yeah, you thought, I’m gonna be okay here.
And in the arms of your lover, nothing could hurt you anymore.

Meadow's Lullaby
Tumblr media
Requests: Yes!
Pairing: Sejanus Plinth x fem!reader, onesided Coriolanus x reader, platonic Lucy Gray x reader
Warnings: none, this is a fluffy one....for now :)
Word count: 1.3K
The Valley Song Series: Part 1 <- -> Part 3
Author's Note: You guys are literally so amazing??? Thank you so much for showing your love for The Valley Song. I came up with this idea and direction so hopefully you all enjoy it. Thank you, lovies! Also once again, because I love Maiah Wynne, the music below is what the reader plays :)) Also this was just so much fun to write
You were a lot shyer than Lucy Gray. That was one of the first things that came to Coriolanus' mind as he watched Lucy Gray pull you over as the performance ended for the night. Maude Ivory had taken your old wooden guitar from you as the rest of the Covey put their instruments away and gathered all the donations from around the Hob.
Your shy and bashful nature had intrigued Coriolanus greatly, but it had with Sejanus as well. He could tell so as his...friend's face got more pink in his cheeks as you neared. A curiosity in his eyes as you neared.
"Y/N, It is finally time for you to meet my boy, Coriolanus Snow. And this is his fine friend, Sejanus," Lucy Gray had introduced them. Her boy, he thought to himself with great distaste. Coriolanus did not belong to anyone, and his little songbird counted. He was not one to be owned. He owned others.
"Y/N here is my older cousin. Just by a year though so it ain't nothing fancy." Lucy Gray said with a laugh, causing you to shyly roll your eyes at your cousin's words. It was clear this wasn't the first time this was brought up in any sort of conversation.
"A pleasure to meet you, Y/N" Coriolanus said with a charming smile and a nod as Lucy Gray let go of her cousin's hand and moved to step beside Coryo, her arm going around his waist.
You gave him a bit of a shy smile as you gave him a nod, "The pleasure is all mine, Coriolanus. I cannot thank you enough for bringing my cousin back to us. I owe you," you chuckled. And even your chuckle was like soft wind chimes; soft.
Sejanus could not help but look to you in some sort of admiration. Even by the look in your eyes, you were gentle kind, and compassionate. Even after all you had been through with losing your family, singing for your dinners, almost losing your cousin...you were still kind. Almost like him.
Your eyes moved to look at him and you could feel your face heating up. He was beautiful. Almost too beautiful, especially to be somewhere like here in District Twelve. You couldn't help but wonder what he had done to be sent there.
"Pleasure to meet you Sejanus.." You say after a moment of almost staring at each other, realizing the silence may have gone on for a little bit too long. In the corner of your eye, you see your cousin smirking at you, glancing up at Coryo as if she had planned this sort of meeting all along.
"Trust me....the pleasure is all mine. You were uh...you were amazing up there by the way," Sejanus said nervously, though the smile stayed on his face.
The bashful smile returned to your lips at his almost too-kind words. "Why thank you. I don't sing on my own very often so I'm pleased you enjoyed it,"
Lucy Gray grinned before remembering. "Oh! I almost forgot. The Covey, we're all making a trip out tomorrow. You both should join us!" she offered.
Coriolanus and Sejanus both shared a look. They both had nothing else to do. So after a moment of sharing a look, Coriolanus smiled slightly and nodded, "We'd love to,"
Lucy Gray almost squealed with excitement, "Oh perfect. You boys are going to love it. Coryo, come by our house by mornin', alright? We'll see you both tomorrow," she said with a grin, taking your hand and rushing back towards the rest of the covey.
You turned and gave them both one last wave and smile before being pulled backstage, leaving the two boys in almost awe: Sejanus being more obvious.
"I can't wait for tomorrow," Sejanus sighed.
When tomorrow finally came, the two boys made it to the small Covey home on the edge of the Seam. And by an hour after sunrise, you all started the hike up to the lake. You lingered behind talking with Barb Azure, listening to Maude Ivory singing and Lucy speaking with Coryo. Halfway through you lingered back, falling back in step with Sejanus.
After hours of hiking, you all made it to the lake and set your things down. The heat was seemingly unbearable, and many of the covey found their way to the lake, aching to cool off their skin with the cold water.
You decided to join them later. Moving to settle under one of the nearby trees, you fixed your old dress before pulling your guitar onto your lap. Your delicate fingers started to string along to the song that Lucy Gray would sing whenever anyone had any nightmares.
As you played you failed to see Sejanus, who was about to join the others in the water before spotting you on your own. He didn't think twice before he made his way over to you, taking a seat a little next to you.
You looked up in surprise, pausing the strumming of the delicate cords. "Sejanus. Sorry, I didn't hear you coming," you add with a smile, flattered and almost happy that out of everything, he wanted to come and sit with you.
"Well I saw you were on your own, figured you could use some company," he used as an excuse, feeling his face warm; though with the heat of the day, it was hard to tell the difference. "What were you playing? I sounded pretty," he then asked.
"Oh, it was just some music I wrote for one of Lucy Gray's songs. She calls it Deep in the Meadow. She usually sings it when Maude Ivory has a nightmare or trouble sleeping. I figured I could add some music to help," you explain, looking at him, flushing as you realize that he never once had taken his eyes off you.
And how beautiful his eyes were. You could see the kindness and admiration, they were captivating and warm. And it all caused a fluttering within your stomach.
"You wrote that all yourself?" He asked in amazement, and as you nodded he gave a small whistle, "That is incredible....could you play something else you wrote?" he asked hopefully before he quickly added in what seemed to be panic, "Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to, I just...your playing is beautiful.."
His words made you grow flustered, but you gave out a small laugh. Something about him allowed you to feel comfortable where you had never felt comfortable before. There were very few people outside the covey that you would do this with, Sejanus may have just been the quickest that you allowed.
"No...no, I don't mind," you quickly reassured him before playing another song you had written, leaving the capital boy silent as he admired the music you had created.
As you both were having your moment, playing him your music, neither of you was aware of the pale eyes that were watching from the water. Coriolanus felt his jaw clench at the sight of them, how Sejanus was able to chat you up about whatever it was.
What were you both talking about? He hated that he didn't know, that he wasn't in the loop, that he couldn't control whatever it was that came from Sejanus' mouth.
Lucy Gray gently climbing onto his back, wrapping her arms around him to keep afloat snapped him out of his thoughts.
"I think they'd make a mighty fine couple, wouldn't you say?" she asked, rather pleased with her match-making skills. Coriolanus on the other hand, wasn't as pleased. But regardless he nodded.
"Hm. She seems a fine match for Sejanus." A fine match was the nicest thing he could come up with as he stared at the few figures underneath the tree.
A fine match with Sejanus would be enough for you now, but he wondered how fine it would be when trouble would eventually find its way back around.

Lest Beauty be Wasted (s.p. x covey!reader)
Tumblr media
pairing: sejanus plinth x covey!reader
word count: 1.8k
warnings: use of Y/N, coriolanus being disgruntled, maybe ooc for canon characters (but its a fanfic so)
a/n: ahhhhh! here it is! it's technically a part two to this fic but could also be read as a stand alone if wanted!! (kind of requested by @iluvsejanusplinth so I hope you like it!)
The morning of the lake trip had you more nervous than any performance at the Hob ever had. You had a half a mind to curse whatever made you write on Sejanus’ arm last night, but you knew you’d never hear the end of it if you backed out of it now. While deep in your thoughts, Maude Ivory ran into your room- no knock or anything- quickly throwing herself down on your bed as if it were her’s. In fairness, the Covey shared everything, and she had spent many a night here when the nightmares of her childhood got especially bad, but this wasn’t one of those times.
“We’re all waiting for you outside you know?” Maude Ivory looked over at you, her shoulders laying perpendicular across your feet. You cracked your toe under the blanket, knowing the noise freaked her out, and she was quick to sit up straight. You gave an awkward chuckle as her face contorted in disgust, but your nerves overtook you once again and your nails were no match for your anxious habits.
“The boys aren’t here yet are they?” You asked, mumbled through the side of your thumb.
“Nah, Lucy Gray reckons they got a little lost along the way. Not everyday someone else from the district tries to make the trek up here,” she smiled, grabbing your arm and pulling it down into your lap to stop you from biting. “What are you so nervous about anyway? Lucy Gray’s got blonde boy coming too and she ain’t half as nervous as you”.
“I don’t know. Something about this one feels different. He’s not like the other peacekeepers we get,” you paused to look at Maude Ivory, “I sound stupid don’t I?”
“Eh, a little but who am I to judge?” She smiled at you, grabbing your arm again before dragging you to meet everyone else outside.
“There they are!” Lucy Gray exclaimed as caught the two of you from her peripheral, dropping the blanket she held to give you a hug.
“Are you nervous? Cause I’m nervous and I don’t know why,” you whispered in her ear before she could let go of you.
“Cause you’re in love darling, nothing wrong with that,” she replied, making your cheeks heat up as you heard the snap of a twig a little further away. “Speaking of…” she trailed off with her signature smile as the group turned to greet the two boys.
“Well it’s about time!” Barb Azure teased, “they were about to leave without you”.
“No we weren’t,” you quickly followed up, about to elbow her in the side if she hadn’t moved out of your way.
“I mean you did threaten to last night so it’s only fair I guess,” Sejanus laughed as he and Coriolanus joined the group.
“Right, well that was really Lucy Gray and I didn’t….” you started, though making eye contact with Sejaus out of his peacekeeper uniform stopped you in your tracks. “It’s not important”.
Clerk Carmine grabbed your hand, pulling you with him to lead the group as he called for everyone to start walking. You swung your arms between you, laughing as he started singing a song really loudly, purposefully getting some notes wrong here and there. Maude Ivory had launched herself onto Sejanus’ back and you glanced back to see her with her hands wrapped around his neck and a bright smile on her face as she sang the correct notes over Clerk Carmine. He eventually stopped singing, as nothing could beat the girl who could perfectly repeat a song she only heard once.
Tam Amber caught up with the two of you in the front, engaging Clerk Carmine in a conversation long enough for him to take your place and let you slip further back in the group. Coriolanus and Lucy Gray were walking just behind you now, the latter quickly stepping up her pace to match yours. You missed Coriolanus’s face tightening as he lost immediate contact with Lucy Gray but she had grabbed your attention, whispering something in your ear about getting Maude Ivory to leave Sejanus alone. You shook your head no violently, but it was too late; the mischievous Lucy Gray already had a plan in mind.
“Maude Ivory, would you be a dear and trade carrying this blanket with me?”
“Why can’t Y/N do it?” Maude Ivory tried to argue, but after the look that Lucy Gray gave her, she stopped. Sejanus laughed, pausing in place to lean down and let Maude Ivory jump off his back before she ran up between the two of you and took the blanket out from Lucy Gray’s arm. You choked back a laugh at the face she was making, but Lucy Gray grabbed her free hand and marched her forward before she could catch you. Turning back to Coriolanus, you stepped to the side, gesturing for him to join the girls as you could now sense his desperation to not be separated any longer and he was quick to take the large step in front of you, forming a nice little triangle with Lucy Gray and Maude Ivory.
You saw now that the plan had fully come to fruition, as it was just you and Sejanus at the back of the group. You would say that you weren’t happy about it, but you would be lying and two things the Covey prides themselves on are truth and trust, so you weren’t about to do that. Sejanus pretended not to catch on to what was happening, or at least that’s what you convinced yourself of as he slowed down to widen the gap between you and the rest of the group.
“This walk is gorgeous,” he started, desperate to make some sort of conversation with you.
“Yeah,” you agreed, “we shouldn’t be too far from the lake now. The hike is long but it doesn’t feel too bad when you’ve got a view like this”. You turn your back to him to look at the trees around you. Even though you had seen them a thousand times, you somehow marvelled at them every time.
“It does have quite the view,” Sejanus commented, not taking his eyes off of you.
“So, you two had the day off or something?” You asked, turning back to face him and just missing the way he shook his head to focus back on the conversation.
“Yeah, we get one day off, which is why we’re usually at the Hob on Saturday nights and wandering around on Sundays”.
“Hm, must be nice not to have to run under barbed wire every day huh?” Sejanus gave you a confused tilt of the head and an amused expression, so you added, “sorry, I don’t really know much about peacekeeper training if I’m honest”.
He laughed as the two of you kept walking, and it was like no time had passed before Maude Ivory was yelling that she could see the lake up ahead. The younger kids were quick to run up to the wooden dock, losing articles of clothing along the way to expose their bathing suits. Their splashing caused you to chuckle under your breath, grabbing Sejanus’ hand before you really knew what you were doing and running forward to get a better look.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” You asked as you looked down at your conjoined hands, suddenly feeling awkward and dropping his. To act as a cover, you began removing your cover up, exposing your handmade swimsuit as Sejanus did the same, muttering something about how the light was reflecting so nicely on the water’s surface. You saw Lucy Gray wrap her arms around Coriolanus’ neck in the water and jumped in, splashing the surface right next to them. Lucy Gray laughed while Coriolanus looked annoyed, but suddenly Sejanus was jumping in next to you, splashing all three of you in the process.
“You’ve got a mean cannonball!” You exclaimed after pushing your wet hair from your face, Sejanus coming back up for air.
“I was only following protocol,” he joked, glancing at everyone else swimming about. Your back had turned on the other couple beside you, and Lucy Gray took the opportunity to grab Coriolanus’ hand and swim slightly further away, giving you two some space. “It’s really nice that you all invited us to tag along with you,” Sejanus smiled at you, noticing the lack of people around you.
“Beauty like this is wasted if no one gets to see it,” you replied, looking briefly at the opposite side of the lake behind him before focusing on him again.
The conversation fell silent for a few moments before Sejanus got closer, making your heart beat a million times faster. “Listen, Y/N, I’ve really enjoyed getting to see you these past couple days, and I’m not usually the most confident guy but Ma always told me I wore my heart on my sleeve so I feel like…” he trailed off as if he had lost confidence in what he was going to say.
Now it was your turn to encourage him to keep going, “you feel like what?”
“I feel like I just have to say it. I really like you, and I was wondering if you wanted to-”
“Just kiss already!” Maude Ivory called from her place on the shore, where she had been inspecting the Katniss plants growing off the water’s edge.
You couldn’t help the laugh that came out of you, and luckily Sejanus also found the moment funny, as he joined you in laughter before wrapping his arms around your back and kissing you. It felt like you were the first sip of water he had gotten in a series of very dehydrated days, and he wasted no time in kissing you again after you had pulled slightly apart, a wide smile on both of your faces.
With the sun warming both of you on the blanket, you rested much like Coriolanus and Lucy Gray had before they got back in the water, with your head on Sejanus’ lap. He could have died a happy man right then and there with the way you were looking up at him, a hopeful expression on your face that he couldn’t help but mirror with his. He leaned down, connecting your lips once again and you savoured how sweet he tasted, just like his ma’s baked goods. The younger Covey members were running around farther in front of you, and as Sejanus straightened up again, you couldn’t help but savour the moment. The scarcity of a day like this was not wasted on you, so you were determined to remember every minute of it.
“Who knew a lake would bring us together?” Sejanus wondered out loud, looking over at the other members of the Covey before glancing back down at you.
“Well Maude Ivory would be mad if I didn’t give her at least a little credit for getting us together but we can blame it on the lake,” you replied, causing Sejanus to chuckle and place a soothing hand on your shoulder.
He rubbed his hand gently up and down your arm, thanking his lucky stars that he and Coriolanus had agreed to come today, and already thinking of all the wonderful ways he would describe you and the day in his next letter home.

caught stealing at the hob, two peacekeepers decide its up to them to give you a punishment… only, it’s nothing like you were expecting.

you hadn’t meant to do something that caused so much trouble, really. you thought that it would go unnoticed, taking an extra coin you’d found on the bench at the hob, and saving it for your little brother. but when you’d looked up, you saw two peacekeepers watching you slide the coin into your pocket.
your heart sank inside your chest as they met your gaze. their faces were painted with stern looks, and you cast an apologetic glance, backing away slowly. you prayed they wouldn’t report you.
‘what do you think you’re doing?’ the blonde one questioned, clutching at your wrist before you could steal away.
‘nothing,’ you murmured, trying to shake off his grasp, but he was too strong, grip tightening like a noose around your wrist.
‘doesn’t look like nothing, does it, private plinth?’ he gestured to the black haired one, who seemed to have a kinder disposition.
unfortunately he didn’t offer any more courtesy than the blonde peacekeeper, and shook his head.
‘i saw her take something,’ he remarked.
your lips quivered, and you glanced around, hoping someone would intervene. but you were far away enough from the throng of dancers that nobody would bother to help you out. messing with peacekeepers could be a death sentence.
‘it’s mine,’ you lied, but attempted to maintain a straight face.
the blonde one had backed you up into the wall, clucking his tongue at you like you were a common criminal. his breath was hot as he leaned in against your ear.
‘doesn’t look like yours, hm? don’t think a little district slut like you would have much, not unless you’d whored yourself for your earnings,’ he spat, watching as you trembled against the wall.
his friend laughed a little, watching as the blonde taunted you. it was awfully quiet out here, if you tried to scream nobody would hear you, not over the sound of lucy gray’s melodic singing and the sound of the covey’s guitar.
‘please, let me go,’ you begged, whimpering as you felt him press himself into you.
he shook his head, laughing at your foolishness. you could feel something hard digging into your thigh and wondered whether it was the holster for his gun or the bulge forming as he watched you squirm beneath him.
‘what do you think, sej, should i let her go?’ he mused, a devilish grin crossing his lips as he watched you turn into a terrified little fawn.
how pathetic.
‘oh, i don’t know coryo…’ he seemed to have some doubt clouding his eyes, and you cast him a look of plea, hoping he would take mercy on you and convince his friend to let you go.
your wrist ached from the way the blonde peacekeeper was clasping at you; hard enough that you could feel a purple bruise forming beneath the skin.
‘i think she needs to be searched for stolen goods,’ coryo, if that was his name, licked his lips hungrily as he eyed you.
you felt his hands creep up your skirt, grasping at your bare thighs and giving a sigh. he felt the smooth expanse of the skin, his touch cool and menacing as he slid further up the apex of your thighs, barely missing your panties. it was humiliating, really, the way he was pawing at you like you were some sort of whore. at least if you were, then perhaps you’d actually have earned that coin.
‘nothing here,’ he murmured, removing his hands from your thigh and now sticking his hands up the loose fabric of your blouse.
you weren’t wearing a bra, which he took notice of immediately, blonde brows cocking in surprise, and he let out a low groan as your nipples reflexively perked up from the cool sensation of his hands. you hung your head in shame, cheeks painted a deep crimson. sejanus, the other peacekeeper, could barely look at what coryo was doing to you, though his hardened cock was proof that he wanted nothing more than to teach you a lesson, just like his more malicious friend.
‘please, if you want the coin, it’s in my pocket,’ you whimpered, hoping he would leave you alone if that’s what he wanted.
you couldn’t ignore the heat that burned between your legs, and pressed your thighs together to help quell the feeling. but it only spurred things on, the friction making you have to stifle a gasp. coryo was still caressing your breasts, a low groan escaping his lips as he fingered the soft skin.
‘don’t want the coin, stupid slut,’ he muttered, removing one hand to reach out and slap you clean across the cheek.
your eyes stung, cheek burning red from the impact of his mark. sejanus came up behind coryo and tried to pull him away, shocked that his friend had struck you. but still, sejanus couldn’t deny the fact that you looked so pretty, tears trickling down your cheeks as coryo’s hand roamed under your blouse.
‘what do you want, then?’ your lips trembled as you begged the question. he removed his other hand from your breasts, but his knee had driven between your legs so that there was nowhere left for you to run.
‘oh, i don’t know,’ his pearly teeth glinted against the dim light of the alcove. ‘i think you need to be taught a little lesson about respecting authority.’
sejanus swallowed thickly as he watched this interaction. while he felt bad that coryo was taunting you, he couldn’t help but feel aroused at the thought of them sharing you, teaching you that you couldn’t get away with disobeying peacekeepers.
your eyes drew wide as you realised what he meant, and you began to shake your head frantically. besides the regrettable relinquishment of your virginity to billy taupe the summer you were sixteen, you’d hardly been touched by a man before, let alone two men at once. although the thought of them touching you made your heart pound with fear, you couldn’t deny the way your core burned.
‘so pretty,’ coryo cooed as he stroked your cheek, pressing his hard bulge against the smooth expanse of your thighs. ‘such a shame you decided to take something that wasn’t yours.’
‘you should really know better than that,’ sejanus scolded, his heart racing as he followed suit from coryo.
a small smile flickered across his lips, and he leaned in over coryo’s shoulder, brown eyes dancing across your frightened features. poor thing, you were so pathetic as they cornered you. but deep down, they could tell you wanted it, and it was only confirmed when coryo’s fingers reached for your panties and felt how they’d been soaked through.
‘fucking hell, sej, she’s wet,’ coryo scoffed in disbelief. the other district sluts he’d defiled had never been so susceptible or so desperate for his cock, they whined about how big he was or begged him to stop. you were different.
‘really? huh, guess she wants us after all,’ sejanus murmured, tucking a stray curl behind your ear.
you whimpered, coryo’s fingers brushing against your clit. you hated how your body was betraying you, how it felt so good as he touched you. your face burned again, and the subtle bucking of your hips revealed how much you were enjoying his touches.
‘what a slut, getting wet at the thought of being fucked by two peacekeepers,’ coryo clucked his tongue. ‘bet you did it on purpose, huh? wanted to taste our cocks so bad that you stole that coin from right under our noses, knowing we’d take you out here and fuck you like the whore you are.’
‘no,’ you whispered, mouth dry.
coryo pulled his fingers from your clit, and a frown scampered across your lips from the loss of sensation. he pushed you down, hard, your head knocking a little against the wall, and kept his hands on your shoulders. now on your knees, you could see both of them straining in their pants, cocks achingly hard. you shook a little.
‘c’mon,’ coryo grabbed your chin in his hand, pushing your face towards sejanus. ‘want you to suck him off.’
sejanus raised his brows, surprised that his friend had relinquished his own pleasure for his, but he was so hard that he couldn’t think straight. after all, it wouldn’t be so bad if you had gotten wet over the thought of it, right?
‘please,’ you begged as coryo forced your hands to unzip sejanus’ pants, but coryo just laughed in his golden, capitol tone.
‘sluts don’t get a say, especially not thieving ones either. you need to learn to respect authority,’ coryo hissed, forcing your fingers to tug down sejanus’ boxers.
his cock sprung out, and as much as you wanted to deny it, you could feel your mouth watering at the sight of it. he was thick, not above average, but the girth made your thighs tingle at the thought of taking him in your mouth. you felt coryo’s hand pushing your head forward, and you scrambled to grip your hand at the base of sejanus’ cock.
sejanus groaned as you gave his head an exploratory lick, and then pushed the tip into your mouth. the flat of your tongue salved over his veiny cock, taking him in further. he fisted his hand in your hair, breath heavy as he tried not to push you down against his cock. your mouth already ached from the girth of him, but you wanted to obey them both for fear of what they’d do if you didn’t.
coryo praised you, palming himself a little as he watched you take sejanus in your throat. you did it so prettily, plump lips wrapped around his friend’s cock, eyes fluttering as you glanced up at him for reassurance. sejanus’ own eyes were shut, but you took it as a sign to keep going with your ministrations.
‘good girl,’ coryo cooed as you took sejanus further down your throat, the sound of your gagging turning him on some more.
sejanus’ cheeks went red as he realised he was already nearing his finish—you were actually the first girl to take him in your mouth, not that he’d dare tell anyone. but it just felt so good, better than his hand ever could, and he let out a breathy groan as the feeling of your tongue sliding up and over each vein on his cock.
‘fuck,’ he muttered, his balls tensing as you took him further in your mouth, tip pressing against the back of your throat.
he came undone in that moment, hot spurts of cum spilling from his cock. he pulled out in a haze of abashed shame, tip still dripping with cum. you took him back to your tongue, and licked up the drops of his load.
sejanus’ body tensed at the feeling of overstimulation as your tongue licked him clean, brushing against the sensitive skin, but he couldn’t believe how good it felt, watching as your wide-eyes took his cock like the dumb whore coryo said you were.
once you were done and he tucked himself into his pants, he seemed satisfied. coryo didn’t believe you had learned your lesson yet, however, his cock straining in his pants at the sight of you on your knees, plump lips still wet from all the saliva that had dribbled down your chin.
how fucking pathetic. a stupid district whore. that’s all you were to him; something to be used, a hole to fill.
coryo pulled you up, shoving you back against the wall. your head tingled a little with the impact, and when you lolled a little to the side coryo grabbed a fistful of your hair and tugged it, sending a stinging pain across your scalp.
‘ouch,’ you murmured, bottom lip trembling at the tingling feeling that danced across your scalp.
in response to your complaint, coryo slapped you again, and tears sprung to the corners of your eyes. he only laughed in response, cock beginning to leak a little in his boxers as he watched a few tears leak free from your eyes. sejanus’ lips curled up in distaste, but coryo’s ire was something he feared, so he said nothing.
‘don’t fucking disobey me!’ he snapped, pushing your hands back against the wall; pinning you there with one leg delved between your thighs.
shamefully, you were wet, and he could really feel it. you’d gotten more wet than when he’d stuck his fingers in you; must’ve gotten off from sucking sejanus’ dick. whore, he thought.
‘gonna take my cock now, yeah?’ he cooed to you like you were stupid. you did look dumb though, eyes all fucked out from sucking sejanus’ cock, and the way you were trembling beneath his touch.
you nodded, heart pounding in your chest. coryo unzipped his pants and freed his cock, holding it at the base like it was some prize to behold. he forced you to look at it, and your brows lifted in awe at the sheer size of it.
‘think you can take all of me, hm?’ he taunted, teasing the tip of his cock along the wet patch in your panties. you gasped, clutching at his back. he seethed at the intimate gesture and you dropped your hand.
feeling a little left out, sejanus came to stand beside you, and gave your hand a little squeeze when coryo wasn’t looking. you could see slight pity in his eyes—the way coryo was treating you was harsh, like you were nothing more than the spittle on his shoe, but it wasn’t as if he could do much about it. he offered you a few kind gestures in the hopes that you could see that not all peacekeepers were cruel.
you let out a mewl as coryo tugged your panties down, laughing at how fucking wet you were. slick had soaked right through them, and when he shoved your skirt up he clicked his tongue in disbelief. your folds were practically glistening with want; all for him.
‘look at her, sej,’ coryo sighed. sejanus couldn’t help but cast his eyes down, and he drew breath at the sight of your pretty cunt. he wanted nothing more than to have it for himself, but he knew coryo wouldn’t let him. well, at least not tonight.
before he could bury his cock inside of you, coryo grabbed you by the chin, long fingers cold against the heat of your skin, and forced your mouth open.
‘gonna be such a good girl for me, hm?’ coryo murmured, delving his thumb inside your mouth, feeling the sticky saliva coat it.
you could only nod, resting your head back against the wall with nervous fatigue. it was torturous, wondering what he was going to do to you, and you could feel both their eyes boring into you, and just how exposed you were. like you were nothing better than a slut who took coin for her services.
coryo forced your mouth open wider, and spat right into it, the warm mixture hitting your tongue. it took everything in you not to gag, but the way his rage brimmed in his eyes caused you to swallow, fluttering your eyelashes flirtatiously to pretend as if you enjoyed it.
‘look at that, sej,’ he bragged. ‘stupid district slut finally starting to understand who’s in charge here.’
coryo laughed, and sejanus gave a small chuckle, but the way his lips twisted into a nervous frown suggested that he did not exactly share the same sentiments as his friend.
satisfied that you were learning to become obedient, coryo shoved his cock in, watching as you squirmed at the feeling of him stretching you out. you were so tight, and billy taupe hadn’t exactly measured up to coryo, who you guessed was about eight inches; so it stung a little.
‘fuck,’ he cursed, burying himself right up to the hilt inside of you. ‘wish you could feel how fuckin’ tight she is, sejanus. ‘spose she could be your first, if you wanted.’
sejanus’ cheeks coloured, embarrassed, and you offered an apologetic look—well, as much as you could in your state. you were grasping at coryo’s shoulders, core burning as he bucked into you. it was one hell of a punishment, but you supposed it was better than being taken to their commander.
coryo furrowed his brow as he saw your eyes flicker shut, and he gave your hair a tug, causing them to flutter open as your mouth stretched around a cry of pain.
‘fucking look at me, slut!’ he scolded.
you forced your eyes to stay open, although the tears were stinging at them, salty droplets brimming at your waterline.
‘don’t know why you’re whining so much when you’re such a fucking slut,’ he grunted as he thrust into you. ‘bet you’ve taken lots of cocks before, huh? stupid district whore.’
the tears were streaming down your cheeks now, disgusted by his insults, shame burning in your face. sejanus was sympathetic, but you could see he kept his gaze down, watching coryo fuck you. you hated that your body was enjoying this, the sound of your wet pussy squelching as he burrowed himself deeper inside of you.
‘n-no,’ you shook your head, and coryo only laughed in response. you felt pathetic; worthless as he fucked you.
‘don’t fucking stutter,’ he said, slamming his cock into you and causing you to cry out in pleasure. another betrayal.
your breathing grew heavier as you felt a knot growing inside your stomach—the feeling of your own pleasure building. you did everything you could to stop the pleasant tingling at your core, but as coryo slammed into you, you couldn’t deny that it felt good. he knew what he was doing, and yet he was so cruel towards you.
‘see, sej,’ coryo boasted. ‘this is how you take a district girl. you need to learn—especially with this one. they’re no good, thieves and sluts; in this one’s case, it’s both.’
sejanus hissed through his teeth, trying to alert coryo to the fact that he too, was district. though you didn’t know that. coryo ignored his friend’s lack of enthusiasm, and turned his attention back to you.
he was nearing his finish, balls begging to be drained as they slapped against your perineum. you were doing so well, really learning your lesson, because you were gasping a little in pleasure, legs trembling as you soaked his cock.
‘think she’s coming, sej,’ coryo alerted his fellow peacekeeper, who could see it himself. ‘you gonna come round my cock, huh? show me that you know how to take orders now?’
completely fucked out, you let yourself go, unfurling around him. you hated yourself for it, giving him the satisfaction of your own orgasm; he’d gloat about it forever. fucking the thieving whore into submission.
‘good girl,’ he cajoled, brushing the sweaty hair out of your eyes.
he stilled for a moment, readjusting himself, your bare ass rubbing against the wall, hurting a little from the scratchy stuff it was made of. coryo let out a deep groan as he slid himself back in, the new angle providing him little time before his release.
he thrust haggardly, grunting and clawing desperately at your arms, until he felt himself come. hot spurts of cum spilled themselves inside your pussy, and you let out a whine at the sensation; dreading what would happen if you got pregnant. you hadn’t thought that out, you should’ve begged him to use a condom or something, the selfish bastard. you doubt he would’ve though.
‘there you go, taking all my cum like a good girl,’ he mused, pushing his seed back into your hole with a few extra thrusts.
sejanus swallowed thickly at the sight of coryo’s cum trickling down your thighs, and felt a deep sense of shame welling in the pit of his stomach. after all, wasn’t it a little corrupt to fuck you as a punishment for your crimes? a simple fine would’ve been enough, but coryo had this base urge, this need to corrupt the girls of district 12 to satisfy his needs.
‘i think you’ve learned your lesson, hm?’ coryo titled his head as he lowered you down.
your knees buckled as you adjusted to the feeling of being on the ground again, and the excess of your fear still trembling through your body. coryo bore a smug grin, and put your clothes back on himself, as if you were too stupid to do it on your own.
your thighs were so sticky, and you seethed from the way they pressed together, but at least your skirt covered the evidence that he’d just had his cock in you. you were too embarrassed to admit that you’d enjoyed it, no matter how much he had taken advantage of you. sejanus had been sweeter, but you could tell he felt some amount of mortification for his actions. coryo on the other hand, was proud of himself. proud for teaching another district slut a lesson.
you dug into your pocket for the spare coin, and placed it into coryo’s hand, gazing up at him anxiously. he laughed, twirling around the 25 cent piece. it was worthless to someone like him, you supposed.
‘keep it,’ he remarked, placing it back into your hand. your cheeks burned in embarrassment. ‘you’ve earned it.’

I promise, Doll
I know I should probably be doing requests considering I’ve been offline for like months but I’m a little obsessed with young Snow atm sooo 🤷‍♀️
Oh, and if this is similar to anyone else’s fic, could someone comment or message me? Bc I’m pretty sure I thought of this idea but I could be thinking of something I’ve read before. Thanks 😘😘
young! coriolanus snow x fem! reader
summary: as much as coriolanus wants to convince himself to love lucy gray, when he meets her best friend in district 12 he can’t help have a new obsession
Only descriptions of reader (that aren’t the fact that reader is fem) is that reader has a ‘southern’ accent like Lucy Gray
warnings: pervy coryo, cheating, dub-con, coryo being manipulative, degradation, slight praise too, oral (m receiving), unprotected sex
Tumblr media
“Well, I know you just applauded our sweet Lucy Gray, but I think she deserves one more, don’t you?” Coriolanus’s bright blue eyes moved to the girl on stage before looking at Lucy Gray who was walking towards him, a large smile on her pretty face, before he quickly looked back at the girl on stage.
Coriolanus drowned out the applause and veered his mind away from the pretty girl on stage as he dragged Lucy Gray into his arms and pressed his lips to hers.
He felt her giggle into his lips before she pulled away, stumbling.
“I want you to meet someone, Coryo!” Lucy Gray called out to him over the music of the covey.
“Oh yeah? Who?” He asked, grinning at her excitement.
She giggled and waved someone over, leaning into Coriolanus.
Not even ten seconds later, the girl from the stage came bounding over, a smile on her face.
“This is my friend..” He didn’t hear what Lucy Gray said after that, his bright blue eyes glued on the friend of Lucy Gray. He looked her up and down, clenching his jaw at the sight of her dress tight around her chest.
He tuned back in when Lucy Gray started speaking about going to the lake the next day.
“..You’re gonna be free tomorrow, right Coryo?” Lucy Gray asked, looking up at Coryo.
“Uh, yeah, course.” He nodded, tightening his arm around her waist, readjusting in his seat to try and make his bulge less noticeable.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus groaned into his pillow as his hand wrapped around his dick, finally getting some alone time after Sejanus fell asleep at last after rambling about some girl he was talking to that night at the bar.
“Fuck, fuck, shit.” His moans were muffled as he fisted his rock hard boner that sprung up right after being introduced to Lucy Gray’s friend.
He tried to picture his girlfriend’s gorgeous face and voice, but it slowly faded into her friend’s face and equally gorgeous voice.
“Fucking hell.” He groaned, biting his other hand, trying to keep his noises down as he almost came at the mere thought of Lucy Gray’s friend.
Images started filling his head of ploughing into the girl with the sweet voice, and even though he strove to ward them away with thoughts of his girlfriend, his pleasure increased tenfold.
As the girl in his thoughts came, he also released all over his hand with a muffled, guttural groan.
“Fuck, shit.” He shuddered, collapsing onto the thin mattress, not caring that his cum smeared all over his abdomen and his sheets. He was just lost in his shame of thinking of a girl other than his girlfriend while jerking off. And the fact that thinking about it, made him hard again.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus immediately spotted the girl of his fantasies walking arm in arm with Maude Ivory as he joined them on their walk to the lake the next day.
“She’s part of the covey. Joined us a bit later, but she’s family, through and through.” Lucy Gray spoke, apparently noticing Coriolanus looking at her friend.
“Hm.” He nodded, his eyes looking her up and down as she skipped along with the younger girl. He quickly looked away so Lucy Gray didn’t suspect anything, no matter how much he wanted to pull the girl away, press her against a tree and-
His thoughts were cut off when Lucy Gray pulled away from him. He furrowed his eyebrows, thinking she figured it out, but he noticed they were at the lake finally.
His eyes focused on Lucy Gray, and his mind momentarily stopped thinking about her friend as Lucy Gray stripped her dress and jumped into the lake in her underwear.
He grinned and was about to do the same until he noticed her friend stripping as well.
“Fuck.” He whispered under his breath as her body became visible and suddenly all previous thoughts of Lucy Gray were gone.
He chose against swimming, just sitting on the side of the lake, his hands crossed over the strained bulge in his boxers.
He stared at the sky, trying to steer his thoughts away from anything to do with his girlfriend’s friend, when the exact same girl swam up to him, smiling.
“Hi.” She grinned.
He stared at her, his bright blue eyes wide. The first time she spoke to him. His boner seemed to double.
“Oh, hey. You were up on stage last night, right? And Lucy Gray introduced me to you.” Coriolanus spoke to her as if she wasn’t on his mind every second for the past 12 hours.
She smiled and nodded, wading in the water. “Mhm. Wasn’t on stage long, though. My vocal cords are all messed up right now. Not supposed to be singing. Probably shouldn’t be speaking much either, but what my doctor doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”
He nodded, entranced by her voice that sounded so much like Lucy Gray’s but much more seductive, even if she didn’t mean for it to.
“You helped Lucy Gray win the games.” She stated.
He nodded, looking down at her.
“Thank you. So much.” She smiled sweetly. “When her name got called I was worried sick. She told me all about how you helped her win, and I can’t thank you enough.”
He clenched his jaw, trying not to imagine her ‘thanking him’ by getting on her knees for him in the forest.
“You don’t have to say thank you. She’s an amazing girl. I couldn’t help but want to save her.” He said smoothly, thinking about how glad he was that he cheated in the games just because then he got to meet the girl now in front of him.
She smiled, nodding. “Well, thank you anyway. She’s my best friend. I don’t know what I’d do without her.” She reached up and grabbed his hand. “Really. I owe you.”
A spark went through his body, shooting straight to his dick.
“Uh- no. No. Don’t worry about it.” He shook his head.
The image of her looking up at him through her eyelashes glued itself inside his head, being the thing he thought about when he jerked off again that night.

Coriolanus relished in the small touches and little interactions for the next month. Around the seam, during the covey’s shows, at the lake with the covey.
One time at the lake, when Lucy Gray wasn’t there due to being at home taking care of a sick Maude Ivory, Coriolanus knew it was his cue to spend some time with her.
“Your performance last night was good.” Coriolanus spoke, swimming up to her as she played in the water. “Wouldn’t even know you’ve taken a month off to heal your throat.”
She whipped around, smiling at him. “Really? I thought I didn’t do too good. I was so in my head about it.”
“You did amazing.” He complimented, looking around, making sure no one was looking before he reached his hand up and brushed her hair away from her face.
“I’m glad you think it. The Covey told me I did good but they told me I sung well while my voice was gone.” She smiled, not noticing his intentions when he pushed her hair behind her shoulder.
“Yeah, you sounded great. Better than Lucy Gray even.” He spoke softly, his hand trailing down her body and fiddling with the edge of the fabric of her bra.
Her eyes glanced down to her collarbone where he was touching. “What’re you doing?” She asked, gripping his wrist and lightly pushing him away.
“You’re so pretty.” He grumbled, all rational thoughts leaving his brain as he focused on her body. He pulled her closer, burying his face in her neck.
“You- you’re dating Lucy Gray.” She mumbled, trying to push him away, but he locked his arms around her waist.
“Not anymore.” He lied into her neck, pressing a kiss to her pulse point.
“What?” She squeaked. “What happened?” She asked, still trying to move away.
“I want you.” He grumbled into her neck, ignoring her question that he really didn’t have an answer for.
“Even- even if you are broken up.. it- it’s not right for me to do anything with you because you- you’re Lucy Gray’s ex. She’s my best friend.” She stuttered, putting her hands on his chest.
“Tell me you don’t want me.” He mumbled, trailing his hand down her body to fiddle with the material of her panties.
“Coryo.. I..” She mumbled, her lands still pushing at his chest.
“That’s what I thought.” He grumbled, pulling away and tugging on her wrist, dragging her out of the water.
“Coriolanus.. what- what are you doing?” She shivered as he tugged her towards the lake house.
He ignored and and shoved the the door open, dragging her inside.
“Why the fuck isn’t there a bed in here?” He grumbled under his breath, shutting the door behind them.
“I uh- it’s just supposed to be shelter for if there’s rain, I think.” She mumbled, trying to get her wrist out of his grip.
“Whatever.” He muttered before shoving her against the wall, pressing his lips to hers.
He didn’t care that she barely kissed back and just continued kissing her before making his way down her neck, peppering kisses all over the soft skin of her throat.
“Wait- wait, you promise you and Lucy Gray aren’t together anymore?” She mumbled, biting her lip to hold back a moan.
He sighed and pulled away. “Yes, I promise, doll. You want a pinky promise too?” He mockingly held up his finger.
She pouted slightly, shaking her head. “No.” She huffed defiantly.
He tutted before going back to kissing her neck, sucking on her pulse point. She finally let go and allowed herself to moan, her hands making their way to his head, raking her hands across his buzzed hair.
“You’re so fucking hot, y’know that?” He mumbled against her skin, his fingers going to the back of her bra and undoing it.
He worked her bra down her arms, pulling away from her neck to admire her body. “Fuck.” He groaned, his hips bucking.
His large hands engulfed her chest, earning a quiet moan from her. He squeezed her breasts before moving his hands down to her panties and tugging them down.
“Shit.” He mumbled as soon as she was naked. One of his hands gripped her waist and the other moved down to her pussy, his middle finger swirling around her entrance.
“You wet for me, baby?” He whispered into her ear, biting her earlobe.
She let out a moan as a response, clenching her eyes shut.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought.” He tutted, pulling his hand away from her wetness, quickly licking his finger before pulling off his soaking boxers.
“Look, baby. Look how hard I am. Just for you.” He mumbled, tapping under her chin to try and encourage her to open her eyes.
She slowly opened them, her eyes immediately widening at the sight of how large he is.
“You said last month.. that you’d do anything to repay me for saving Lucy Gray’s life. Now get on your knees, yeah? Thank me.” He tutted, moving away from her to give her room.
Her mouth opened and closed, as she breathed heavily, looking up at him with wide eyes before she silently dropped to her knees in front of him. He felt his dick twitch at the thought of how one of his fantasies actually came true; her being on her knees in front of him.
“C’mon, you know what to do. I know you do.” His hand went to thread itself into her hair.
She hesitantly raised one of her hands to grip him at the base of his dick, hearing him release a moan. “Fuck, yeah.” She heard him grumble.
She moved forward slowly, licking the tip of his dick lightly.
“Fucking shit!” He moaned, gripping her hair tighter. “C’mon, hurry up.” He groaned.
She slowly let him enter her mouth, sinking down on him, holding back the urge to gag as he hit the back of her throat.
“There ya go. Wasn’t so hard, now was it? Slut.” He grumbled, gripping her hair and thrusting his hips into her mouth.
She gargled around him, her hands gripping his thighs.
“Take it. It’s okay. Just take it.” He moaned out, throwing his head back
She tried breathing through her nose as he thrusted in and out of her mouth, but her gagging and gargling made it quite hard to breathe at all.
“Such a tight little throat. Fuck!” He moaned, tightening his grip on her hair. “Gonna make me cum already. Shit.” He mumbled, pulling out of her mouth.
Her face was covered in salvia that dropped down onto the wooden floor. She immediately tried wiping at it with her hands, but she couldn’t get it all. She looked up at him with saliva covered face and hands before going to get up, but he stopped her.
“Stay down there.” He grumbled, getting on his own knees on the floor, pushing her back so she was lying down on the splintering floorboards.
He adjusted himself so he was hovering over her body, his arms holding himself up on either side of her head.
“So fucking hot.” He mumbled under his breath, reaching down and gripping his cock, pumping it a few times before guiding it to her entrance. He didn’t look up at her face as he pushed inside of her, hearing, but ignoring her yelp of pain.
He continued pushing into her, burying his face in her neck as he pushed in until the hilt, feeling her trying to push at him, whining about the pain, but he couldn’t care about anything but the feeling of her tight pussy around him.
As soon as he got adjusted to the feeling, he started thrusting, blocking out her pleas for him to slow down.
“Shit.” He threw his head back, closing his eyes as he started ploughing into her.
“Fuck yeah. Such a tight little pussy.” He moaned out, trailing a finger to her clit to rub it when she started getting a bit too tight.
“Fuck.” He whined slightly, feeling a gush of wetness from her pussy envelop his dick.
“That’s it. You’re liking this, aren’t you? Such a pretty slut.” He groaned, his face going back to burying itself in her neck as he continued rubbing her clit and ploughing into her pussy.
It didn’t take much longer for his thrusts to get sloppy and his pace speed up, feeling a coil start to build in the base of his stomach.
“That’s it. Gonna make me cum. Gonna make me cum right in your right little cunt.” Coriolanus groaned out, feeling her thrash quickly as his words before calming down.
“You gotta cum too, dolly. Come on.” He groaned, holding himself back from cumming, focusing on spending his finger on her clit up.
Her nails dug into his back, tears building in her eyes at the feeling of pain mixed with by pleasure.
“I- I’m gonna-“ She cut herself off with a moan as he started pushing down on her stomach.
“Do it.” He commanded, making her release all over his dick.
His jaw clenched as she tightened around him, and he held back for a few more thrusts.
“Gonna cum in your pussy, baby.” He groaned out before spurting his cum inside of her. He shuddered at the feeling of her tight walls gripping his sensitive cock, so he quickly withdrew himself from her.
“Shit.” He grumbled, moving off of her. He stayed still, breathing heavily for a moment before getting up and putting his boxers back on.
“I’ll uh.. I’ll see you at your next show. Looking forward of seeing you.” He grinned before walking out of the lake house, closing the door behind him, leaving her shivering and naked on the floor of the lake house, her best friend’s boyfriend’s cum seeping out of her.

It was like any other night at the covey, it was a little bit crowded and a bit hot but Sejanus had tagged along with Coriolanus because he loved coming to see Lucy Gray preform.
She ended her song, claps and yells of praises following after she was finished and she grabbed the microphone with a bright smile on her face.
"Y'all have just been a wonderful crowd!" Lucy Gray hummed as she shimmied her shoulders. "Better keep that energy up for [Y/nnn]! Or should I say [N/n]?" She said the name in a sing-song tone as if she were teasing the girl that walked up onto the stage.
Sejanus had felt like the world slowed down for a moment, his eyes never leaving her body as she walked. She wore a dark cropped tank-top with a long white skirt and a white laced cardigan, the lace having some sort of flower pattern to it and brown boots. She had a violin case hanging from her shoulder.
She looked so relaxed and comfortable to Sejanus, like she hadn't a care in the world and was simply living in the moment.
"Oh c'mon Luce you know I hate that nickname." She rolled her eyes, playfully waving her hand to shoo the brunette from the stage and she playfully stuck out her tongue at her.
The [h/c] haired girl grabbed the microphone, adjusting it for her height. She tapped on it as her eyes scanned around the crowd for a second before she spoke; "Y'all miss me?"
The crowd erupted in short cheers and the Sejanus didn't think that her smile could get any bigger until she laughed at the reaction and Sejanus couldn't help but smile from it, like it was contagious.
"I know, I know. Y'all must have missed me soo much." She hummed, raising her brows as someone held out a bottle towards her and she generously took it.
"For me? Oh you shouldn't have, y'all know I stopped drinking...never." She giggled, taking a long swing of whatever was in the bottle, her face scrunching up at the strong taste.
There was no doubt that her and Lucy Gray were friends, a similar sense of fashion along with their free spirits and speaking whatever came to mind and being able to control the energy of an entire room..it was endearing.
Even the way she played the violin, her voice soft enough to hear above the violin strings but not loud enough to make her singing feel out of place. The way she swayed side to side slightly as she preformed it was all hypnotizing.
She had her eyes closed most of the time while she played, allowing Sejanus to take in her beauty under the spotlight. He never missed how her smile grew softer when she finished a note she seemed impressed with.
It was different from Lucy Gray, while they both had the energy to make the crowd go wild Lucy Gray kept that energy with her music a lot of the time, making people stomp around and move their bodies in a fast and excitable fashion.
But [Y/n]?
It was soothing, it felt like music he would hear if he were dragged to one of those boring parties his father would be hosting but she gave the music life with her voice as it carried through the covey. Couples swinging with each other side to side on the dance floor or cuddled up with each other with soft smiles.
"[Y/n]! [Y/n], baby!"
The violinist opened her eyes, narrowing as they landed on a ginger. She has decided to ignore him, continuing to play as she sang softly although a few of her notes seem to be getting off-key from being side tracked.
"[Y/n], c'mon you can't ignore me forever. I said I was sorry, that I wouldn't do it again." He moped, getting closer to the stage and [Y/n]'s eyes flashed a look of fear as she stepped back.
"Rusty, you better stop right there." Lucy Gray had warned, stepping up on the stage as [Y/n]'s playing slowly coming to a stop at the distraction.
Rusty hadn't listened though, attempting to walk up the stairs until one of the peacekeepers had pulled him back by his sleeve and he yanked his arm back, elbowing them in the nose.
[Y/n] frowned, her brows drawn up in worry as her eyes darted between the two. "Yall, please, I don't want a rumble in here tonight-"
This caused the Peacekeeper to stumble back into somebody else who pushed him and that caused that person to get grabbed and before you knew it somebody broke glass over someone's head followed by a scream and that's when the fighting started.
"Cmon y'all, calm down! Please!" [Y/n] had pleaded through the microphone although her voice was drowned out by the chaos happening in front of the stage.
Sejanus stood up, seeing the ginger haired boy crawl his way to the stage. He grabbed at the bottom of her skirt, slurring nonsense as she clenched onto her instrument with Lucy Gray and [Y/n] both screaming at him.
"Stop! Stop it! Get off of me right now or-"
But before she could finish her plea he was practically yanked off of her and her eyes looked over to the male and it was like Sejanus wasn't even thinking as he pulled his fist back and let it connect.
He didn't even know how many times her had punched Rusty before he was being pulled away– dragged off of the boy and he heard Coriolanus scolding him under his breath as they were rushing through the crowd, following shortly behind [Y/n] and Lucy Gray.
The two peacekeepers were led to a room that wasn't too far from the main area. It seemed like a little room for the Covey performers to get ready when needed with the amount of makeup, hairbrushes, guitar picks and other things laying around. Sejanus sat down next to Coriolanus, letting out a small huff as he had finally caught his breath.
"Never a dull day at the covey." Coriolanus commented once he had caught his breath.
"I'm so sorry y'all had to get dragged into that." [Y/n] had apologized while she set her instrument down. She went to grab a white box and a small bottle of something from one of the counters as she walked back over to the group.
"It's not your fault, hun. You shouldn't be the one apologizing." Lucy Gray scoffed, shaking her head.
[Y/n] shrugged her shoulders as she made her way over to Sejanus, taking a seat beside him as she set the things down. "I still feel sour, so much for first impressions."
"I still think you made a good first impression." Sejanus said, meeting her eyes as she opened the first-aid-kit and he saw that contagious smile again.
"Oh c'mon, you're just saying that." She hummed, pouring a bit of alcohol onto a cotton pad as she held out her hand for his and he willingly placed his hand in hers.
"No, I'm serious. He doesn't change the fact that your performance was beautiful, it was hypnotizing."
[Y/n] playful narrowed her eyes at him, as if she were trying to sense if he was lying or not. As she saw that he was pretty serious she hummed, looking down at his bruised knuckles.
"You liked it that much?" She asked as she carefully dabbed at his knuckles and Sejanus sucked on his teeth before giving a nod.
"It was pretty, where did you learn to play like that?" He asked, trying to ignore the small burn every time she dabbed the cotton swab on his knuckles.
"My ma' taught me." She giggled a little bit. "It's funny cus' I absolutely hated it when I was younger. Thought violins were the root of all evil." She said as she was trying to finish cleaning his hands as quickly as she could without rushing and Sejanus nodded along.
"But I'm glad I didn't quit, it's such a beautiful instrument. Maybe even better than a guitar" She teased, glancing over at Lucy Gray who was making sure Coriolanus hadn't any bruises and she shook her head.
"Oh you wish." She replied, taking a seat on one of the counters and letting her feet swing back and forth.
"I'm glad you didn't quit." Sejanus piped up as [Y/n] grabbed the bandages and began wrapping them around his knuckles, grabbing a piece of tape to keep it still.
"Me too, probably wouldn't have started performing at the covey or met Lucy Gray then I wouldn't have met you two." She pulled away from Coriolanus, giggling under her breath as she put things away.
"Funny how one screechy instrument could've stopped us from meeting, hm?"
"I'm glad it didn't." Sejanus softly replied as he leaned back in his seat with a sigh, he hoped that this wouldn't report back and get him into some sort of trouble.
"Maybe we could see each other tomorrow to make up for all this mess?" [Y/n] asked the group as she put the First-Aid-Kit back. "Something more peaceful like this was supposed to be."
Lucy Gray clapped her hands, smiling wide. "The lake!"
[Y/n] gasped, almost like an excited kid who had got a present they had been begging for. "Oh my god, the lake!"
"The lake?" The two boys repeated, brows furrowed as they gave each other a look still not completely familiar with District 12.
"It's a beautiful little lake a bit of a walk from here. It's far away from people so no one should bother us." [Y/n] said and Sejanus nodded.
"I'd- we'd love that." Sejanus smile and Coriolanus glanced over at him from the corner of his eye before back at the two girls.
"Great, we can meet here around noon to walk together."
