Running through the city on patrol was one of his favorite parts of it. Running across rooftops with reckless abandon, flipping through the air only to land on his feet…
It brought back some pleasant memories of watching videos on parkour late at night, texting his friend and planning to meet up somewhere to try out what they had seen.
With various degrees of success.
In reality, Chiro hadn't been that good at it. He fell a lot, even wound up injured a few times bad enough to require a hospital visit…
Or three. He honestly lost count. Between him and his friend, they had about six hospital visits for these antics under their belts.
Now, he was actually learning how to do such feats safely, mostly using the training room's simulator programs and then applying it to patrol like he was now.
His stomach did somersaults while he flung himself across a gap between two buildings.
The monkeys were nearby, always ever watchful of their young leader - just in case.
Today in particular though, they noticed… something was off.
Chiro was keeping up like usual… but they caught a glimpse of another boy his age trying to catch up to him… and when Chiro noticed him, he only smirked and started doing more complex tricks, prompting the other young man to do the same.
"Who is that?" Otto asked.
"I don't know but he's picking up the pace." Sparx answered.
The boy was an inch or two taller than Chiro with dark skin and wild deep blue hair. His eyes, an unnatural shade of violet that gleamed with mischief.
"Hey, Ichi!" The boy called, with a laugh. "You know, you can't outrun me forever!"
Chiro growled.
"I told you once, I told you a thousand times, stop calling me that! Only Mila's allowed to!"
"Kid, you know that guy?" Sparx remarked, looking back at him.
"Unfortunately." Chiro deadpanned before he laughed. "It's a story I'll tell… if he can catch up!"
Antauri stopped short, signaling the others to do the same.
"Pardon?" He raised an eyebrow.
Chiro stopped short before he noticed the boy catching up and made a break for it, shimmying up onto an air conditioning unit.
"Come on! You don't see me for awhile and NOW you can't catch up? For shame, Pizza Boy!"

The One where Mila becomes an Isekai Protagonist (Evil Ages AU)
So, this won’t be part of the main AU, I’m writing where Mila gets involved, but it will be a side oneshot to go alongside the story.
In this version, Mila winds up in an era of dragons, magic and knights along with Gibson and Otto, but separated. When they’re captured by the palace guards, they’re brought to the throne room, for their fate to be decided by the Queen of the land...
They’re floored, when they realize who it is, barely recognizing her at all.
“My, oh my, who do we have here?”
“MILA!?”
“Ara, ara, what’s the matter you two? It’s as if you’ve seen a ghost!”
Because rather than the dark middle ages, this is more like the world of an otome isekai. She’s basically in heaven and by extension, those around her are in HELL, because her head swells up big time. She LOVES THIS and never wants to leave.
Gibson: I can’t believe we’re going to have to overthrow a Queen...
Otto: I dunno, maybe she won’t be so bad.
“OH, HO, HO, HO!”
Gibson: We absolutely need to get out of here. Mila!!
Mila: *completely ignoring him*
Gibson: *sighs of deep suffering* You’re Highness...
Mila: Yes?
Gibson: We need to go home. NOW.
Mila: ... *sips tea* Two more days.
Needless to say, for them the real issue is just getting her to LEAVE.
She feels bad about it later... but also, she misses that dress a lot. Mila becomes the Villainess for a day, though unintentionally. Because sometimes the real villain, is a 27 year old woman who just got a taste of the high society.

Did a drawing of what Kira Kalveria, the secondary Jedi protagonist alongside James Lunagazer, looks like in the Hyperforce Reignition crossover fanfic universe, alongside the Monkey who will be a major supporting character in her development, the reckless red-maverick himself, Sparx.
I did consider having Otto, given that he and Kira share the same colour, and he was the first Monkey she took an instant liking to upon meeting, (barring the massive freak out they had when they understood each other without a translator.) But the more I thought about it, her personality more or less meshes more with Sparx.
I'd imagine Sparx would start to see some of his own traits in Kira, and so he'd begin to mellow back his reckless nature and become a sort of father-figure to the young Jedi Apprentice sort of like Chiro and Antauri's dynamic, (Not to say it won't be difficult, given Kira's impulsive and reckless attitude!)
I'll probably do one for James Lunagazer and the other members of Flarren Squadron who join the two Jedi in their adventures on Shuggazoom overtime as soon as I figure out the characters.
Kira's design is one that I actually tweaked from an old design, evoking her Green Jedi heritage and her energetic wise-cracker attitude, including gold shoulder armor which was inspired from the Mighty Morphin' Green Power Ranger, the Jedi Credit was rough due to it using the old Jedi Order symbol, but I got there.
But if anyone is knowledgeable about the old Legends lore, you may have noticed Kira is an apprentice, and Jedi Credits are usually given to those in the Corellian Jedi who ascend to the Rank of Knight, there's a reason for that which will be explored later...
I actually did consider making Kira an Togruta species to set her apart from her TC OC counterpart, but I felt it would have been too similar to Anakin and Ahsoka with how she and James are intially, though another Togruta character might appear later down the line, but to be blunt it won't be Ahsoka as she's straight up dead in this universe.
I don't hate her but she has been getting over-used in Star Wars, so yeah, and this universe is a mix of both Canon and Legends, at least from what knowledge I do have, but it won't come up much as I decided to leave that vague so that it could fit in either universe, and for if I decide to make a prequel series.

Wraith Mila 2.0/Corrupted Mila
I honestly was not happy with the Wraith Mila look and wanted to kind of reinvent it since Ghosts of Shuggazoom is a favorite episode of mine (in my top 5) and it's one I'm eager to cover.
So, I'm still debating whether or not Mila does get cursed, but honestly I just wanted to play with it anyways, since I am reimagining the Wraith's a bit.
Namely, that there can be variants who are semi-conscious or retain some human like appearances.
With certain individuals, it affects them in a way that once they've turned, they turn into shells of their former selves... The good in them, fades away along with their soul.
Under this curse, Mila would gain powers that would make her a dangerous foe. The usual wails wraiths make, would be replaced with a siren song, that could reach even the silence of space...
And her sound wave attacks are ones to be feared.
"Awww... What's wrong? It's like you've seen a ghost."
"Mila... Stay back. You don't want to do this."
"Actually... I *want* to do this...."
(This is all a hypothetical and me playing with horror concepts. Since the wraith's on the show are awesome, but I'm also playing with how they might play out differently or if they can be effected in different ways. In this case, one that's portraying someone who's been corrupted by it)

HAPPY 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, MBK AU!!!
My Brother's Keeper turned 3 this past week on September 17th! It still absolutely blows my mind that my little OC story got so big and complex. This past year I didn't get to update as often as I wanted, mostly because of my new fic Brave Blossom which took up a huge chunk of my brain the first half of the year XD But lots of exciting things still happened for Amber! This past year MBK made its way through season 2 and right now we're smack dab in the middle of the I, Chiro saga (which is a huge milestone!) Amber has had a lot of character growth, and I'm so proud of her.
Speaking of milestones! MBK has gotten almost 5500 hits on Ao3 which is absolutely insane to me. Thank you everyone, all my readers, commenters, kudos-ers, and especially people who drew fanart! Seeing fanart of my girl Amber makes my heart so happy. AND A HUGE THANK YOU especially to my beta readers who are the absolute best people on the planet for all your encouragement and feedback, it truly means the world to me. We've got a long way to go but I know we can do it! 😊💙

A gem au srmthfg drabble, mostly focusing on Gibson.
Gibson had not been considered a good sapphire on home world. At least not for the use that sapphires were suppose to have. When it came to seeing the future Gibson just did not have that power down. No matter how much he had tried he just could not see the future. If he had been a more common gem he would had been shattered long ago.
He didn't even give off the mysterious aura that many sapphires often had.And while a lot of sapphires liked to have their hair long and free, Gibson preferred to keep his up in a tight bun.
Gibson had been told that he should thank the diamonds for how patient everyone was being in trying to help him actually use his power. Helping had included keeping him confined to one room for days at a time. They had hoped that the solitude would somehow jump start those future seeing abilities he was suppose to have. Instead it only made him hate those who claimed they were helping him.
Truly, the only times he ever felt close to seeing the future possibly was when he came up with new experiments to try. Sometimes he would look at a object and he could see so many paths of how that object could be used. So many destinies that it could possibly change.
When he had told others about that had called that day dreaming and that he was only wasting his and everyone's time. Gibson had always had a stubborn streak. Maybe that and being told that his interests foolish that was what truly made him rebel.
Not that he really called trying to learn science rebellion. Or even doing his own experiments in secret. But both those thing were seen as rebellion by most other gems. So eventually he was caught in the science section. Where he was very much not allowed. He had also been caught trying to work on a experiment. Something that he had been warned away from over and over.
For this he had been sent to a off home world prison. A way of trying to scare Gibson he was sure. Though he truly did wonder when they would be tired of trying and just shatter him.
Gibson was stuck with just his own thoughts as company for awhile more. He had no idea how long. Gibson had assumed it would be much longer before ever seeming another gem.
But it seemed like the day he would see gems again was now. These other gems were free and running. Ones very much not meant to be running around free. They were running so fast that they hadn't noticed Gibson.
Was this a jail break? Gibson hadn't heard a alarm at all if it was.
Gibson had thought that all of the escaped gems had ran by. But one last gem was taking up the rear.
Now there was a very unusual sight. Not only a rose quartz but a off color one. The only parts of this gem that were pink was their big, poofy hair that fell over one shoulder. The rest of them was a green color.
Gibson's and the strange rose quartz's eyes met. The rose quartz stopped right in front of Gibson's cell.
"Wait! I found another gem!" the rose quartz cried.
Voices calling back and the gems that had been running by came back towards Gibson's cell.
There was a group six of them in all. Various gem types that Gibson had never seen together in the same place like this.
It seemed that the escaped gems had figured out a plan when it came to opening these cells. And that was to let the bright yellow quartz of some sort slam her fist into the lock screen. And then Gibson was free.
The rose quartz got closer, leaning over slightly and extending a hand to Gibson.
"You want to come with us?" the rose quartz had asked him.
This moment was a big one. Gibson was well aware of that. But what really moved Gibson to leave was the choice. Being asked if he wanted to do something? Now there was something that he had never experienced before.
A regular sapphire would use their future sight powers to how this would end. Gibson could not do that. And in that moment Gibson couldn't help but think that maybe that was freeing in this moment.
Gibson stood up,brush dust off their clothes and took the rose quartz's hand.
The rose quartz that at that moment Gibson had no way of knowing would name themselves Otto in the future. And that Otto would be the one that Gibson himself would fall in love with. That rose quartz flashed a big, wide smile.
And even though Gibson was taking a step that would for sure end in his shattering if they were caught, found that smile so comforting. He smiled back at the rose quartz.
"I'd love to."
