Sizing machine introduction 1
Sizing The process of applying sizing agent to the warp yarn to improve its weaveability. Weaving ability refers to the performance of warp yarns that can withstand repeated friction, stretching, and bending of warp stoppers, healds, reeds, etc. on the loom without causing a lot of fluffing or even breaking. The unsizing single yarn fibers are not tightly entangled with each other, and the surface has more hairiness, which is difficult to weave. After sizing, a part of the slurry penetrates between the fibers, and the other part adheres to the surface of the warp yarn. The sizing in which the sizing fluid penetrates between the fibers is called the impregnable sizing, and the sizing in which the sizing fluid adheres to the surface of the warp yarn is called the covering sizing.

Sizing method
There are six main warp sizing methods.
Beam sizing
The warp yarns on several warp beams are drawn out at the same time, immersed in the slurry, pressed to remove the remaining liquid, dried, and divided into yarns, and finally wound into a weaving beam according to the specified length. This is the most widely used sizing method.
Sizing of weaving shaft
The weaving shaft made by the slitting warping machine is sizing and then rolled into the weaving shaft. This method is mostly used for multi-variety and small-batch production of silk weaving and yarn-dyed weaving.
Sizing joint
Sizing and drying equipment is installed between the creel of the warping machine and the winding mechanism, and the warping and sizing are a process, which is mostly used for sizing of chemical fiber filaments.
Dyeing and Sizing Joint
Install dyeing and drying equipment in front of the size tank of the sizing machine to make the sizing yarn dyed, dried, and then sizing. The dyeing and sizing are a process, which is mostly used for sizing warp yarns that need to be dyed, such as the color of weaving tarpaulins. After sizing.
Single yarn sizing
The single yarn is withdrawn from the bobbin, sizing by the single yarn sizing machine, and then wound into a sizing bobbin. The single yarn sizing machine is made by adding a sizing tank and a drying mechanism to the low-speed winder. Although this method is low in output and labor intensive, the serosa is of good quality, and is sometimes used in silk and ramie weaving.
Hank sizing
There are two methods, manual and mechanical, in which the skein is soaked in the slurry, wringed, fluffed, and then dried. This method is suitable for small batch production such as yarn-dyed and webbing.
Sizing equipment
The machine used for warp beam sizing consists of four main parts:
①Reel frame: Place a specified number of warping beams, and the number of drawn warps is generally equal to the total number of fabric warps.
② Slurry tank: a container and additional machinery for storing and heating (heat preservation) slurry. The warp yarn bypasses the immersion roller to absorb the sizing liquid, and then is squeezed between the sizing roller and the sizing roller covered with an elastic surface layer, so that the sizing liquid penetrates the yarn and presses out the remaining sizing to obtain the specified sizing rate.
③ Drying chamber: a device for drying wet sizing, divided into three types: drying drum, hot air and hot air drying drum combined type.
④Car head: including main drive, rear waxing device, yarn splitting rod, length measuring printing, telescopic reed, weaving shaft winding, up and down shaft and other mechanisms. The main drive requires a wide continuously variable speed range and a crawling speed (2~3m/min) to meet the requirements of dealing with defects without stopping. The dividing rod divides the dried sizing into several layers. The fine yarn layer or chemical fiber sizing can be coated with a small amount of emulsified wax through the post-waxing device to smooth the surface of the sizing and reduce the accumulation of static electricity. The layered sizing is further separated by the telescopic reed, and finally wound on the upper weaving shaft by the drag roller. The bobbin winding mechanism can keep the sizing tension constant at different vehicle speeds and the winding diameter of the bobbin shaft increases gradually. The length measurement of the sizing is printed to mark the length of the sizing, usually after drying.
Since the 1970s, methods such as solvent sizing, hot melt sizing, and foam sizing have appeared one after another, which can save drying energy. With the development of electronic technology, the research of sizing machine automation has also made progress. It has been able to automatically control the moisture regain, elongation, sizing rate, warp tension, sizing liquid level, concentration, sizing temperature and steam. Pressure etc.
