95 tezí aneb Disputace o moci a účinnosti odpustků

Martin Luther začal vážně pochybovat o podobě Boha tak, jak ho vyobrazovala středověká církev. Luther hledal podklady pro jednotlivé kroky církve - například kde se v Bibli píše o očistci, o místě mezi peklem a nebem, kde jsou hříšníci drženi tak dlouho, dokud neodčiní všechny své hříchy, kde je psáno o papeži, jakožto nejvyšší autoritě a podobně.

Tyhle jeho otázky a úvahy se staly o to palčivějšími, když v roce 1516 požádal mohučský arcibiskup Albrecht Braniborský papeže Lva X. aby mu udělil odpustkové privilegium.

Odpustkové privilegium je listina, která slouží jako potvrzení a jakýsi návod, za jakých podmínek a jakými způsoby je možné odpustky prodávat.

Jak vlastně ony odpustky fungovaly?

Odpustky fungovaly jako jakési zmírnění nebo přeskočení přísných církevních trestů, například půst jen o chlebu a vodě nebo zkrácený pobyt v očistci, po smrti hříšníka.

Odpustky mohly být plnomocné anebo částečné. Plnomocné odpustky odpustili hříšníkovi celý trest, částečné odpustky odpouštěli jen určitou část daného trestu.

Martin Luther prodej odpustků velmi kritizoval, protože získat odpustku nebylo jen tak. Církev stanovovala různé podmínky, které měly ukazovat obrat hříšníka k dobru a měly též symbolizovat jeho nápravu, ovšem postupem času se církev začala pomocí odpustků obohacovat - prodávala odpustky za finanční příspěvky, ze kterých poté financovala své vlastní záležitosti  a to jak ty pro dobré účely, jako je například stavba nemocnic (špitálů), tak i ty, které dobrý úmysl neměly, jako jsou například křižácké výpravy, které měly za cíl šířit víru násilným způsobem.

Je jasné, že i církev musela z něčeho žít, i církev potřebovala peníze, aby mohla šířit víru dál, ovšem toto obohacování se na lidech s pomocí odpustků bylo podle mnohých kritiků církve zavrženíhodné, protože církev tímto způsobem vlastně obírala lidi o peníze prostřednictvím jejich víry.

Zisk z prodeje odpustků byl rozdělen napůl - část výdělku putovala do kapsy samotnému Albrechtovi Braniborskému, který potřeboval zaplatit své dluhy a druhá polovina výdělku z prodeje odpustků našla své místo v pokladnici samotného papeže Lva X., který poté z těchto peněz financoval stavbu baziliky svatého Petra v Římě. I toto dělení zisků nezůstalo bez Lutherovi kritiky, na toto téma nárážel v tezi číslo 89:  

 "Proč papež, jehož bohatství je dnes větší než bohatství nejbohatšího Crassa, staví baziliku svatého Petra z peněz chudých věřících spíše, než ze svých vlastních peněz?"

Martin Luther důrazně odsuzoval prodej odpustků, církev jako takovou za to velmi kritizoval a tato jeho kritika vyůstila až v sepsání Disputace o moci a účinnosti odpustků, později známé jako Devadesát pět tezí, údajně přibitých na dveře wittenbergského kostela.

31. října roku 1517 napsal Martin Luther biskupovi Albrechtovi Braniborskému dopis, ke kterému připojil kopii svých Devadesáti pěti tezí. V tomto dopise protestoval proti prodeji odpustků.

Ovšem podle zpráv údajných očitých svědectví, zejména Lutherových spolupracovníků a přátel, Luther dne 31. října roku 1517 přibil svých Devadesát pět tezí na dveře wittenbergského kostela.

 Vědci Walter Krämer, Götz Trenkler, Gerhard Ritter a Gerhard Prause si myslí, že příběh s přibitím Lutherova dokumentu na dveře wittenbergského kostela je jen málo založen na pravdě, protože tato legenda je známá především od Lutherových přátel a spolupracovníků, kteří tou dobou často ani nebyli ve Wittenbergu osobně přítomni (v souvislosti s tímto se hodně zmiňuje jméno Philipa Melanchthona, Lutherova spolupracovníka, který měl uvádět k této události nějaké komentáře, ale předpokládá se, že v době, kdy měly být teze přibité na dveře kostela, nebyl ve Wittenbergu osobně přítomen). Tato legenda vznikla na základě jejich zápisků a ustní lidové slovesnosti. Ovšem například americký protestantský církevní historik Roland Baiton si stojí za tím, že přibití Devadesáti pěti tezí na dveře wittenbergského kostela se 31. října roku 1517 skuteně odehrálo.

Tak jako tak tato legenda luterskou reformaci značně podpořila a myslím že luterány (příznivce luterství, nebo protestantského vyznání) také velmi motivovala, protože zobrazovala Luthera jako národního hrdinu, který se nebojí vyjádřit svůj nesouhlas s tím nejmocnějším, co lidé tehdy znali - s církví.

Minimalist Photographer Of The Year 2020 – George Byrne, Australia

O prêmio Minimalist Photography Awards conta com diferentes categorias. Arquitetura, conceitual, abstrato, autoral, paisagem, longa exposição, noite, tema livre, retrato e rua. A iniciativa é da associação sem fins lucrativos Minimalist Photography Awards e que faz parte da revista Minimalism (só fotos em preto e branco). foram mais de 4200 fotografias de 41 países. E o grande vencedor foi o fotógrafo australiano George Byrne. Ele levou 2 mil dólares de prêmio. Os finalistas e o grande vencedores terão seus trabalhos expostos em Berlim na Alemanha na Galeria Minimal e ainda vai gerar um livro (anuário) com os premiados. Uma bela ação com que busca incentivar, reconhecer e premiar os talentos desse estilo fotográfico onde menos sempre é mais.
