"Speaking of compulsory normalcy," Hannibal says, biting sharply at the narrowest part of Will's waist just to watch him jump and yelp. "Where does your father think you are, right now?"
Will's fingers find the hair on Hannibal's nape, carding through it aimlessly as he speaks. "I told him I was staying with a friend for the weekend. Not technically a lie."
"Is that what we are?" He licks flatly over Will's nipple, as if proving a point. "Friends?"
He's caught somewhere between laughing and moaning. It's beautiful. "And you expect me to believe that you've never lied to Robertus about where you went on a weekend?"
Hannibal smirks, hands skimming happily over Will's smooth torso. "I never said that."
Something shifts in the air, then. Hannibal feels it before Will even speaks, like the room turns cooler, if only by a degree.
"...He probably wouldn't care, either way."
It's sobering. Hannibal sighs, presses his forehead to Will's abdomen. "All the more reason to tell him about you and I," he offers. It's a joke. Half of a joke, anyway. Will laughs like it is.
"I've thought about it," Will replies. He scratches at Hannibal's scalp, his voice is light but there's a trace of bitterness underneath that he can't seem to disguise. "Just to find out what he'd do, see the look on his face." Another laugh. It wheezes, almost painfully. "God, sometimes I just wanna grab him by the shoulders and fucking shout it in his face, just to see if it makes him... look at me."

Russian oil giant Lukoil has lost yet another top executive under mysterious circumstances as its vice president died “suddenly” at the age of 53, adding to a spate of deaths of figures linked to the gas and oil industry in the country.
The company announced the death of Vitaly Robertus in a brief statement Wednesday, expressing “deep regret” over his death but providing no further details on the manner in which he died.
His passing comes after a string of bizarre deaths at the company. Most recently, in late October, Vladimir Nekrasov, the chairman of the company’s board, died unexpectedly of what the company said was acute heart failure. He was 66 and had been brought in to head the board after the previous chairman, Ravil Maganov, plunged from a sixth-floor hospital window and died in September 2022.
Months earlier, in May 2022, another top executive at the company died under strange circumstances. Alexander Subbotin was said to have died of a “drug-induced heart attack,” with Kremlin-friendly media outlets claiming he’d ingested some kind of toad venom while visiting with a shaman.
