Therapy Homework: Write a Poem

Qara was charged to write a poem. At first it was because his peers thought he didn't understand metaphor, simile, and what have you. It quickly became apparent that he did understand those things, it was more that he didn't understand their content. While it wasn't Koh that told him to do this, it was no doubt something that was going to be helpful for him.

The pen scratched against the page, his tail flicking back and forth as he wrote. It was... a start. He had to stop by Colin's library to get an idea of what poetry needed to even look like, but it was somewhere to start.

Touch with every care Gossamer flow Pouring, slick Crimson, black

He thought about the boys. The three machines he cared so deeply for. How so much more similar to them he was than the company members that were above him. It was everything, it was nothing. Just like him.

Viscous fluid set to fingers A heart a machine Pumping, twisting Oil, blood One ends another begins Cycling, breathing, lubricating

He remembered the pain in the body's chest, long since normalized, the absence of it's pulse. He remembered how it felt, the moment when it's heart stopped beating, the horror in their eyes when they realized he was still awake.

Remove the damaged part Affixed next to the heart Cutting wires and filing bone

So much of it was machinery now. So much of it unfixable should anything happen to him. And yet he works on, its all he has left to do.

Maybe Zala will like this poem. Maybe this will be approved.
