The Skyway Bridge, Burlington, breathtaking view with my 2 "paadnas" keeping me company... 🎶🔊🎵@neeshandhitman @ravibkarma 🎶 vibe on 😁👌. Fun fact for those who don't already know the Skyway brdige is part of the QEW, an immaculate structure designed by the English borned Canadian Philip Louis Pratley and architectural brilliance by John Turner Bell: 210 ft high, 98 ft wide and spans a whopping 495ft long, connecting Fort Erie and Toronto. Open in 1958 (north bound) & 1985 (south bound), this was a toll bridge from 1958 to 1973. Initial named: Burlington Skyway Bridge was renamed in 1984 as Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway to honour the 🥳90th birthday of James Noble Allan, 🇨🇦Canadian politician and public servant from 1951 to 1988, he passed on at the ripe old age of 97.❤💐 #canada #ontario traveler #tourist #travel #landmark #music #ravib #hitman #chutney #caribbeanvibes #caribbeanmusic #canadianhistory #itsabeautifulworld #itsabeautifulday #behappy #longdrive #ilovetotravel #freespirit #openroadandloudmusic (at Strathroy, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTcR9IEnyUJ/?utm_medium=tumblr

1.4 Barsalou’s soap factory 1995, 1600 De Lorimier Avenue.
The Dominion Bridge construction company began the construction of the bridge on May 26th, 1925. Philip Louis Pratley, an English Canadian engineer, designed the blueprints for the project. The cost for the construction of the bridge was upwards of 23 million dollars. When the bridge was first built, it was nicknamed “the crooked bridge” because it was curved near the Montreal end. Entrepreneur, Hector Barsalou, stood his ground and refused to give up his soap factory. Barsalou had developed a new technological system enabling his factory to produce 6000 pounds of soap  in only one and a half hours. Typically, it would have taken a week to produce that amount. His business was thriving, therefore, he declined the purchase offer to give up his factory. This led to the construction of an unusual curve on the bridge. The building is still there today on 1600 avenue de Lorimier.
