Catherine Dubois on Montréal fans booing Abby Roque. At some point she joked and said they wouldn’t let her at the press conference again because she replied to a question asking about the playoffs with something like “if the guys (habs) can’t give the fans playoffs, at least we can.” 😂

PWHL
Toronto, Montreal clinch playoffs
New York eliminated from playoffs
Players who have signed ten day contracts: Mélodie Daoust (MTL), Nicole Kosta (BOS), Kelly Babstock (BOS), Alexa Gruschow (NY), Carley Olivier (NY)
Players moved to LTIR: Loren Gabel (BOS)
Players who signed standard player agreement contracts: Mikyla Grant-Mentis (MTL)
Ann-Sophie Bettez (MTL), who was on LTIR, had season ending surgery (via Pat Laprade)
Players who’ve stated they plan to declare for the draft: Maja Nylen Persson, Claire Thompson, Sarah Fillier. Many more rumored, full list will be revealed May 1st
Ottawa’s Zoe Boyd and Kristin Della Rovere were able to get some skating time in since both having wrist injuries. While both won’t be back this season, it is good to see them be with the team! (Via Alex Adams, includes video)

SWHL’s HC Fribourg-Gottéron Ladies announce a bunch of signings including Finnish forward Jenna Suokko, USports top forward and champion Maggy Burbidge, Lauren Dabrowski, and Jade Surdez
Kassidy Sauvé joins Sweden’s SDE after making her way back from injury last year and playing in Finland
Defender Erica Rieder, who last played for Modo Hockey in 2021-2022, makes her return to hockey on a two year deal with Luleå HF

u know how people say a character is so character? hockey is SO sport. like more sport than any other sport. effort so effortful that players can only play for 50 seconds at a time? scoring attempts that can kill a person? players moving at 25 mph? time-out corner for the naughty? refs can break their bones? human dart board (goalie)? yeah.. sport
