Honestly it’s such a bummer it’s extremely hard to watch the division IA women’s hockey tournament. We had a France v Norway game (two of the three teams fighting for the two spots of promotion to the top tournament) where France came back from a 3-0 in the final minutes to force overtime and then a shootout where Estelle duvin scored approximately a billion times but Norway still pulled out the win and there was a ton of penalties

Three big signings for Swiss League’s SC Bern Fraun:
French national team forward and two time Finnish league champion Clara Rozier, who was Naisten Liiga’s most valuable playoff performer last year and finished fifth in points with 29-29-58 in 32 regular season games
Swiss National team member Kaleigh Quennec, a recent graduate of university of Montreal’s usports program
Slovakian center Viktoria Maskalova, a veteran of the Swiss league who’s played at SC Langanthal Damen the past two years as their top scorer

Also, a fun update on some former Buffalo Beauts; Lovisa Berndtsson and Kassidy Sauvé are going to be teammates again! They will be playing for SDE HF in the SDHL
Lovisa Berndtsson, who signed in Sweden’s tier II league late last year as a result of the fallout of the PHF buyout, was phenomenal and maintained a sub-1 GAA. Sauvé was able to work her way back from the injuries she sustained in 2022-2023 and join Naisten Liiga for a few starts in the 2023-2024 season. Both have worked hard to get here, congratulations to them!

Catherine Dubois on Montréal fans booing Abby Roque. At some point she joked and said they wouldn’t let her at the press conference again because she replied to a question asking about the playoffs with something like “if the guys (habs) can’t give the fans playoffs, at least we can.” 😂
