ANOTHER THING I'M THINKING ABOUT is that constantine like...studies magic. hardcore studies, college-cramming studies, practice-once-a-day studies.
there's been a couple times where he'll make fun of people for fucking up a spell bc they've rushed their preparation or "it takes six months to learn that invocation", and it reminds me that he's really, honestly had to work to get as much knowledge as he has, and to be able to use it effectively without it blowing up in his face. which is such a jarring concept when set up against the new 52/jld constantine's casual flinging around spells and bursts of energy. he's out here doing that old-school occult shit, no wonder other magic users treat him like a fossil.

the thing about me is that even if i'm super pumped about a thread, i'll still end up taking months to reply to it a lot of the time

Looks like I’ve got no other choice…
Arisa took a deep breath and cleared her throat. “Excuse me, Your Highnesses?”
“What is it?” Yujiro turned to look at her, an expression of clear exasperation stretched across his face. He paid no mind to the way Aizo had grasped his slimmer hands within his own, nor did he seem to care about the absolutely pathetic look on the blond’s face.
“Um… I was wondering if I could listen to one of your songs, maybe?” Arisa bounced a little in place. “You two need an audience if you want to become musicians, so…”
“But we didn’t bring our instruments today…” Aizo mumbled, still keeping Yujiro’s hands sandwiched between his own for some reason or other. “We were only meant to do our physical training today…”
“To escape the bandits, I take it?” Arisa raised an eyebrow, just as Yujiro muttered “More like you decided that we had to run laps all on your own…” with a pointed glare at Aizo, who practically wilted under the force of said glare.
Oh boy… Why are they like this…?
“In any case,” Arisa coughed lightly. “I’m fine with listening to an a capella version of your song too. Or maybe we could return to the castle and use the music room there? I’m not picky at all.”
“I don’t wanna return to the castle… Ken’s there…” Aizo sighed heavily. “He’d want to join in if he caught wind of this…”
…Can’t deny that. Ken is always looking for ways to slack off on his royal duties, after all.
“…C’mon, Aizo,” Yujiro finally pulled his hands free. “Let’s give her the performance she asked for. Maybe she’ll finally leave us alone then.”
I can hear you, you know?
“But Yujiro…”
“We’ve practised for this, haven’t we?” Yujiro shrugged and turned to Arisa. “So… Please listen to Romeo… Don’t question the name, Aizo was the one who came up with it.”
“H-hey!” Aizo straightened out his posture as well. “You’re the one who wanted to name it—“
Aizo’s complaints went mostly unvoiced, however, as he cut himself off when Yujiro commenced the song with the cue of a whispered “Romeo”.
Eh…?
Arisa’s eyes widened a little as the two princes before her began to sing in harmony.
Their voices… actually go pretty well together…? I can’t believe I underestimated them… I don’t know much about the performing arts, but… I can tell that the two of them are definitely suited for stardom.
Arisa blinked back into reality as the pair before her concluded their song with a cheery “Yeah!”.

WISHLIST. If there's one thing I want to write out with Ava, it's her learning to be a mother to a kid and what it means to be a mom.
Because right now? She has this whole image of who a mom should be: kind, sweet, patient, gentle. A whole saint and a half, maybe even an angel. She knows she isn't one--not with her history, and definitely not in the eyes of other moms.
But I want her to learn that being a mom isn't some rigid mold to fit into. It's just... caring enough about your kid to try. Teaching them things. Helping them grow, even if you fumble and they're a pain in the neck sometimes.
I just really want to see her try.

Amis is also stubborn tbh. it doesn't crop up That Much, but when he's decided something, he really digs in his heels. goats are the emblem of his House for a reason lmao really the only way to circumvent that stubbornness is by appealing to his curiosity. both these traits showed a lot more when he was alive. he would really dig into his work and not take a break for weeks. he would turn down some invitation just because he's focused, but because he's so stubborn beneath it all, any attempts to get him to reconsider would just make him double down. Damon knew this better than anyone and would instead dangle something interesting in front of him. like enticing out a feral cat. "ah it's a shame you turned down the Duchess' invite. you know [insert philosopher] will be there." ". . . oh?" "mhm. and she's invited — well no one knows if he'll show — but she invited [philosopher's rival]. should be interesting, especially after that 'debate' they had last time."

The last few weeks had been interesting, to say the least. The energy in Edge has shifted, with people seeming to look forward to the future more brightly. Now that the stigma had been mostly eradicated, children were finding homes and shelters, businesses were being revived, and hope filled the air. It was like a plague had been cured.
While that was nice and heartwarming, Tifa’s focus was primarily on her family. When her friends left to return to their respective lives, she set her sights on Denzel and Cloud.
Now that he was no longer sick, Denzel came out of his shell more, laughing and playing with Marlene and doing more around the house. He was acting more like a child his age, which gave Tifa warmth to witness. Cloud had returned home, no longer hiding in the ruins of his memory.
It was still and adjustment, though.
Preparing for opening that night, Tifa was lost to her own thoughts. She was reflecting on their latest shared adventure, the conflicting argument they had while Rude and Reno looked on, the shift in their dynamics within the home...and the fear she had that he may bolt again.

Reaching over, she took hold of the ice and placed a very gentle kiss over where it had been, ignoring how cold his skin was. “Thank you,” she murmured, lifting the ice back to his face.
“I may be pissed at you, but I appreciate the help.”
