Six Companies that Own almost all American Media

^These 6 companies own 90% of all American media. So almost every single time you watch a movie or look at the news, you’re looking at what one of these companies wants you to think. By buying smaller companies and branching out, they’ve made us think that we have a lot more freedom than we actually do. Interesting to think about isn’t it?

A lot of theories touch on this topic, and some people even believe that since these companies control so much of what we see and hear, they pretty much control our thoughts. These stats are from a while ago so here are some updates:

 GE doesn’t own ComCast or NBC anymore so the 6th company is now ComCast

A&T bought Time Warner and they don’t own AOL or Huffington Post anymore

National Amusements and Sony are also included in different ‘variations’ of the Big 6, it depends on what aspect of media your looking at

But basically, it all comes down to this, with these major companies controlling 90% of what we see, who is really doing the thinking? Us, or them?

Delaware judge rules in favor of Redstone family in CBS dispute

(Reuters) - A judge declined on Thursday to issue a restraining order against Shari Redstone, allowing her to exert control over CBS Corp and dealing a setback to the U.S. media company's plans to strip her voting power and thwart a merger with Viacom Inc .
