Hey everyone! I've been a little quiet on the blog as we ramp up events back on the discord server! If you're not in it, just find me, same username! While I'm still slow to get back to articles and such, here's a new thing we did: I now have a youtube channel! Some of our meetings will be recorded and posted here with a transcript. Slowly I plan to evolve how I can reach people with this knowledge and my perspective. Also, I wanted to say that while I absolutely have loved doing this as a volunteer, I'll need to provide some way for people to support me, should they choose to! This might look like being able to tip me here on Tumblr, or pay for tickets to events and lectures I may host in the future!

In the twilight of Samhain's sacred night, Where veils between worlds are thin and light, I seek the mushrooms, mystical and old, Their secret stories, by the ancients told.
Beneath the silver moon's enchanting gleam, They rise from earth, like whispers in a dream, With caps of velvet and stems so slender, They beckon, in their splendor, to surrender.
Toadstools of enchantment, they appear, A portal to the spirit world so near, As Samhain's magic weaves its ancient spell, The fungi's wisdom, they are here to tell.
In shadowed groves, where secrets come to life, I find the fungi, free from mortal strife, Their colors shimmer, phosphorescent bright, Guiding me through Samhain's mystic night.
With every bite, a journey to the stars, To converse with spirits, both near and far, In visions deep, my soul begins to soar, As I explore the realms unseen, once more.
These magic mushrooms, gifts from earth and sky, Unveil the truths that often pass us by, On Samhain's eve, they lead us on a quest, To touch the realms of spirits, manifest.
In reverence, I partake and feel their grace, Commune with ancestors, in that sacred space, For on this night, the boundaries grow thin, And through these mushrooms, ancient worlds begin.
So, on Samhain's eve, we gather 'round, To honor spirits in the hallowed ground, With magic mushrooms as our guiding star, We journey far, wherever spirits are.
In the dance of shadows, moonlight beams, Samhain's magic mushrooms fill our dreams, Connecting past and present, far and near, On this sacred night, the veil is clear. By Mycolancer

Tidal Wave - An Article about History, Cultivation, and Experience by Mycolancer
Tumblr media
Tidal Wave P. Cubensis emerges as a fascinating hybrid, a product of genetic interplay between the renowned B+ and Penis Envy varieties of P. Cubensis. This unique strain combines the distinctive traits of its genetic parents, offering enthusiasts a potent and visually captivating psychedelic experience. In this article, we explore the genetic lineage, visual characteristics, and anecdotal experiences associated with Tidal Wave.
Genetic History:
The genetic origins of Tidal Wave are rooted in the fusion of the B+ and Penis Envy varieties of P. Cubensis. The B+ strain is celebrated for its reliability, robust growth, and characteristic wide golden cap. On the other hand, Penis Envy is renowned for its exceptionally high potency and distinctive appearance, featuring a stunted, gnarled stature. Tidal Wave inherits the best of both worlds, combining the reliability of B+ with the potency of Penis Envy.
Visual Characteristics:
Tidal Wave's visual allure is inherited from its B+ lineage, as it boasts a wide golden cap that is visually reminiscent of its parent. The cap, often described as undulating like the eponymous waves, adds an aesthetic dimension to the psychedelic experience. Safety Tip: Tidal Wave cannot be foraged in the wild, so do not confuse it for other varieties you may find in nature.
Tumblr media
Potency:
Tidal Wave is recognized for its high potency, although anecdotal reports suggest that it may be slightly less potent than the original Penis Envy variety. An article written by Trip Sitter seems to have actual testing data to confirm this. The precise measurement of potency in psilocybin containing mushrooms can be challenging, as factors like individual tolerance and set and setting play a significant role in determining the intensity of the experience.
Anecdotal Experiences:
Enthusiasts who have embarked on a journey with Tidal Wave P. Cubensis often share captivating anecdotes about their experiences. Users commonly report intense and immersive psychedelic effects, including vivid visuals, heightened sensory perception, and a profound connection to their emotions and surroundings.
Some will describe a unique balance achieved by Tidal Wave, combining the introspective qualities associated with Penis Envy with the more euphoric and visually stimulating aspects inherited from B+. Users appreciate the potency of Tidal Wave, emphasizing its ability to induce a transformative and therapeutic experience even at lower doses. Safety Tip: As with all substances, responsible use, proper education, and consideration of individual tolerance levels remain crucial for ensuring a safe and meaningful journey! Start low and go slow!

A brief history of the ancient use of Golden Teacher by Mycolancer
Tumblr media
The "Golden Teacher" is a colloquial term often used to refer to a specific strain of psychedelic mushrooms, scientifically known as psilocybe cubensis. These mushrooms have been used for centuries in various cultural and spiritual contexts. When discussing the pre-colonial history of the use of Golden Teacher mushrooms, it's essential to remember that specific strain names like "Golden Teacher" are relatively recent and are more commonly associated with modern cultivation. However, the broader history of p. cubensis and its traditional use can be traced back in different parts of the world.
Indigenous Use in Mesoamerica: p. cubensis mushrooms, including the potential ancestors of the "Golden Teacher" strain, have been used by indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica for thousands of years. The Aztecs, in particular, used them in religious and shamanic rituals. The Aztec name for these mushrooms was "teonanácatl," which means "flesh of the gods." The use of these mushrooms was closely tied to their spiritual and cultural practices.
Pre-Colonial Shamanic Practices: Indigenous shamans and healers in regions such as present-day Mexico and Guatemala would ingest p. cubensis mushrooms to induce altered states of consciousness. They believed these altered states allowed them to communicate with the spirit world, receive divine guidance, and heal the sick, among other reasons.
Cultural Significance: The use of these mushrooms was deeply ingrained in the cultural and spiritual heritage of various indigenous groups, and it was considered a sacred and profound practice. The experiences induced by p. cubensis were seen as a way to gain insight, resolve conflicts, and connect with the natural world. This is not meant to be a complete list of all uses and intentions within these many cultures.
European Contact and Suppression: When European colonizers arrived in the Americas, they often suppressed indigenous cultural practices, including the use of p. cubensis. Many native rituals involving these mushrooms were deemed heretical by the Catholic Church, leading to their suppression and persecution.
Modern Rediscovery: The use of Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms was largely forgotten during the colonial period and subsequent centuries. It was only in the mid-20th century, with the work of scholars like R. Gordon Wasson, that these mushrooms and their cultural significance began to be rediscovered by the Western world. Wasson's experiences with Psilocybe mushrooms in Mexico contributed to a renewed interest in psychedelic substances.
The specific strain known as "Golden Teacher" is a more recent development, primarily within the context of modern cultivation and recreational use. It is important to understand that the contemporary naming and identification of strains like "Golden Teacher" stem from efforts to distinguish between different varieties of Psilocybe cubensis based on their growth characteristics, appearance, and potency. The use of these strains, while still tied to psychedelic experiences, differs significantly from the traditional indigenous practices of Mesoamerica and should be approached with caution and respect for the cultural and historical context in which they were used. This article is not meant to be an extensive source of information. We will get into deeper understanding of what is known about indigenous use of psilocybin containing mushrooms in future articles.
