Todays rip: 15/02/2024
Corridors of Vine
Season 6 Featured on: SiIvaGunner's Highest Quality Rips: Volume FF
Ripped by Heboyi
youtube
Right, okay, we've had a good streak recently of covering more "traditionally good" rips for the blog - arrangements and remixes like NIGHTMARESCAPE 〜Unrestrained HyperCam 2〜 (Final Boss Phase 2), genuinely good arrangements like mlp racism anthem (comix zone arrange), even the premiere of a new Season with the Joke-Explainer™ 7000 Fusion Collab. I think its about high time we change the clock to something "stupider" - the kind of rip that reminds you just how much SiIva is driven by the wild imagination, skill, and commitment-to-the-bit of its contributors. Only within a community like SiIvaGunner's will you get something like Corridors of Vine.
With memes as a whole, there seems to exist some sort of...invisible hierarchy that defines their public perception, that I've always found really fascinating. It's not impossible to understand why this hierarchy exists: Memes like the Hampsterdance in Wario's Hampster Mine, the Sparta Remix in THIS. IS. SOLEANNA. and more call back to a different, more innocent time in internet history, wheras memes like Despacito in Plains of Des-passing-to and It's Everyday Bro in It's Everyday Lake are oft met with comments like "I hate that I love this", or other similar sentiments. Memes generally follow a trend where, once one has worn out its period of inferred relevance - typically once it stops being a niche internet activity and spreads to marketing teams and unfunny people in general - its labeled as "dead" and unwanted, left as a relic of a smaller period of internet activity. That is, of course, unless it gets brought back into fashion by virtue of nostalgia and given some sort of new spin, as we've seen happen with Doge as of late - until that then too becomes co-opted by unfunny people (this time crypto-grifters) and the cycle begins anew. Yet part of what makes SiIvaGunner as a channel so great, is that very few of the memes it uses ever reach that state of abandonment: the team is so good at finding new, inventive ways to use memes as old as from Season 1, to where they rarely feel stale. And if they do feel stale - well, then that can ironically become part of the joke, playing into just how samey and played-out the joke is for a sort of ironic appeal.
All of this is to say, that I always find it immensely funny whenever the team decides - seemingly at the drop of a hat - to begin using memes that have been thoroughly labeled as dead for years by that point. A meme like the Harlem Shake didn't have so much as a pulse by the time Season 6 rolled around even past its sole revival to relevancy a few years back from being attached to Ajit Pai - yet The Harlem Shakeover of that very season was one containing over THREE HUNDRED rips utilizing the joke, next to none of which were made with the intention of sounding bad. Funny enough, then, that one of the first events we'd see during that same Season would be doing the exact same thing to a meme that's likely far more loathed than the Harlem Shake ever was - Damn Daniel, the core joke to Corridors of Vine.
Damn Daniel is perhaps the closest we've ever gotten to having a meme that felt like a social experiment - a complete non-sequitor of a joke starring an average, marketable teen and his immaculate footwear. At the peak of Vine's age of randomness humor, the series of various videos on Daniel's Vans absolutely blew up - and immediately, there were cynics from outside of Vine, older internet dwellers mainly, who made a big point about how lacking-in-funny the videos were. Yet the guy, Daniel, made it onto the damn Ellen Show of all things within mere weeks after his debut, and in a way it kind of made Damn Daniel a symbol for everything considered wrong about Vine: its mainstream appeal and focus on short, memeable videos had created a form of shitposting that...no longer felt like they were part of a community.
That is, of course, just my summary of the opinions I gathered from all the way back in 2016 - back when SiIvaGunner itself was first revving up into gear. And I find it so incredibly befitting that it was during Season 6 that the Damn Daniel event occurred on SiIvaGunner - the Season all about letting go of the past. To have it begin with SiIvaGunner, itself a 2016 meme, acknowledging its near polar opposite made around the same time: A meme that was, for a solid while, one of the most wanted-dead memes of all, one that the internet as a whole frankly felt a kind of hatred toward during what would come to be a rather cynical, hateful year in general.
There's definitely an overarching aura of irony applied to the anniversary celebration's rips regardless, of course - part of the joke with Corridors of Vine is that its using a song otherwise so closely enveloped in emotion and vulnerability (one SiIva itself used to similar effect with 時の回廊 <ver. CCC>), alongside a joke that's so bitterly remembered that its mere inclusion makes it difficult to take seriously. Yet Corridors of Vine takes itself as seriously as the concept could be, it is a genuinely fantastic YTPMV using several of the famous Damn Daniel Vines in conjunction with one another, resulting in an infectiously catchy combination of lead- and backing melody instrumentation. I do think the commitment to the bit worked excellently, and the comments of the video itself appear to agree with me - despite how beloathed Damn Daniel itself was, the time to properly acknowledge and accept it had arrived, and we were for once actually...enjoying the meme?
To circle back to the point made in the second paragraph here - the truth is, there are very few memes that wind up actually full-on dead for long. Dead memes as a concept are a label we put upon jokes we feel have ran their course, yet especially in the world of YTPMV there will always be people out there able to prove the naysayers wrong, even if the intentions are purely ironic. Ironic or affectionate, the end result is the same, isn't it? You've got a smile out of your audience through your work in adapting the meme! And through all the comments expressing their concerns over returning to the hellscape that was 2016s meme culture, those smiles - even through the barrier of the internet, felt as if they were shared by all of us. The entire event - and Corridors of Vine in particular - showed Damn Daniel a sense of affection it likely hasn't had since the days when the SiIvaGunner channel's name began with a G.
Here's to 8 years, Daniel.
...Stussy man, Damn.

Found another odd tag — keyed off the word "hiding" — and this time it's a long one!
Tumblr media
So, the full tag is:
#blac chyna is hiding true feelings about her ‘rebirth’ makeover – her ‘lip clamps & droops’ are the proof
This sounds like a celebrity gossip headline! And sure enough, this tag is full-to-bursting with this article exclusively.
Tumblr media
I got this from the desktop site, because it's wild to see. It's just a wall of the same article, all the way down, for multiple pages.
They're all from early November 2023, and all from blogs with names that end in *-polycom, *-mag, or *news. It seems fairly self-evident that this is the work of some kind of tabloid, but I'm a curious cat. I want to dig deeper.
Digging Deeper
Most of these posts tell you (they don't provide links!) to go read the full article on POLYCOM. Ok, what is a POLYCOM? I don't think it's Poly Inc., maker of video- and teleconferencing appliances, but a few cursory Google and DuckDuckGo searches yield no evidence of anything else.
The most recent post tells us to go track down the article ourselves on "IN TREND", but provides no URL or link. Searching around for "IN TREND" on the web is fairly difficult, returning results for well-known fashion publications, trend analytics, and a brand of clothing called "Intrend". Searching for "In Trend Today" returned more interesting results, including an InTrendToday YouTube Channel and Facebook page. The Facebook page seems to have stopped posting in late 2018, but the YouTube Channel last posted a video on Dec 18, 2023. I'll talk more about the YouTube Channel under the cut at the end of this post.
Some of these posts do have "read more" links pointing to posts on Wordpress, all of which claim to be "on MAG NEWS". Each *-mag blog links out to a separate Wordpress account which seems to be re-uploading the same story. All of these Wordpress Accounts are deleted (for violating Wordpress ToS), and all of these linked posts are gone (here are two examples):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow, I doubt this is some covert arm of the Maricopa Association of Governments newsroom.
Digging down into the results on Tumblr, I found a copy of this post made by the blog vouxsportsnews. They link a Wordpress article from another dead Wordpress account:
Tumblr media
BUT, their most recent post on their blog (a gossip article about Zendaya posted on Jan 5, 2024) does have a working Wordpress link, to vouxsportsnews.wordpress.com (clever 🙄):
Tumblr media
This is an archetypal internet-based gossip rag. I didn't know these still existed! I guess Wordpress is hunting them down for sport?
The "Read More ..." link in the article goes to a website called top.neotrends.today, which is a sketchy link I will not be clicking on. The "full article" is apparently hosted on www.primesky.media, which I also will not be directly navigating to. I did manage to get a screenshot of the front page of primesky today (Jan 8, 2024) using a webtool:
Tumblr media
I blurred the article shown on this page to preserve the privacy of the person it featured.
Primesky is hosted on a Cloudflare virtual private server, and no public info is available on who owns the primesky URL. A search for "redroads amag" on DuckDuckGo leads back to primesky. A search of the same on Google leads to a website at www.clickhere.world, which is immensely sketchy and looks identical to primesky. At this point, I'm going to end my search for a culprit.
Conclusion
I thought I could find the tabloid hydra's body, but I just found more heads. I'm not surprised the operators of a gossip rag bot network on Tumblr are also playing dirty on Wordpress, and covering their digital tracks well. Sometimes it's best to just report spam and go on with your day.
It should go without saying, but DO NOT NAVIGATE to these websites! At worst, they will give you every virus. At best, they will mine crypto in the background of your browser (and rot your brain).
The YouTube Channel Digression
The YouTube channel intrendtoday was created on Oct 4, 2017, and it has more than 53,000 subscribers as of my posting this post (Jan 8, 2024). However, the earliest video on the channel was posted on Nov 7, 2023. That is suspiciously close to when all of these Blac Chyna spam articles went up.
Given that the videos posted get less than 50 views on average, I think the grossly-out-of-proportion subscriber count is evidence of bot subscribers. Maybe the channel re-branded and deleted a prior back-catalog? Archive.org has no snapshots of this YouTube channel, but SocialBlade claims they lost nearly 3.5 million video views in early September of 2023 (indicating they deleted a lot of videos).
Tumblr media
SocialBlade also indexes this channel under the name "demattradinginfo", not "intrendtoday". Archive.org doesn't have records of a YouTube URL for the channel demattradinginfo, but a Google search of that name shows results for Demat Accounts, which are a type of financial account commonly used in India to hold securities and trade stocks.
It's possible that whomever is behind the gossip news spam is also in control of this YouTube channel. I wouldn't be surprised, given how frequently people offering financial advice on social media are either scammers or spammers (and sometimes both!). However, I have no proof that the people behind this YouTube channel are the same people behind this social media gossip spamming.

Scam job on Indeed strikes again: Return of "Pay me money"
This is awareness post to warn other users on internet how I (and possibly you) can be scammed and potentially exploited by this person(?)/company(?). Tumblr was chosen because any information posted here can be searchable by google. I did the search before working with this company and if I would found a blog like that I would avoid my time waisted.
At end of January 2024 I was contacted by Helen Nordin after I submitted an application for Administrative Assistant on Indeed for Euclid Education Foundation (euclidfoundation.ca). I was informed on being chosen for the role and after some back in forth emails and short phone interview position was mine. Pay was generous for 28 CAD an hour with upgrade for 30 CAD once trial month was up.
Red flag: Despite a healthy 1 or 2 emails in a day between several days I got job too easily and phone interview was barely informational, more like she called and asked questions for the checkmark. I thought it was because by my resume and me being overqualified for this position, but it was not.
I started the work that consisted of simple tasks like creating presentations for the company, only contact I had with named Helen person though Telegram @ Helen_EDUfoundation. After 2 and half weeks of work and constant communication I reminded them about my salary (which was planned to be sent to me bi-weekly) because they didnt mention it before that. They assured me that by Friday afternoon I will get my payment. When I didn't get money Friday I didn't say anything because banks can be late on transactions, and on Monday I was blocked by Helen on Telegram and somehow our convo was erased.
My phone calls to +15143176557 (Helen's number that we used to communicate) were dropped immediately, while calls from other numbers were going all the way to voicemail so I assume I was blocked. I have my suspicions that they are some form of crypto bros because one of my latest tasks was to find cheap sellers for Samsung S20. They said its for international students, but I was an international student and all of stuff we provided for ourselves and one of prominent features of S20 model is crypto wallet included.
In this times when finding a good job is hard many scammers make profit out of you so please research every opportunity that others offer you, especially if it sounds too good to be true. Im glad that I only wasted my time and my plans for close future, but others can waste so much more.

Welcome to my blog!
About me:
My name is Holly, or if you'd like the long form, Heosphoros. You can call me Holly, Heos, or Heo if you'd like. I have a preference for Holly, but I don't mind if you use names interchangeably.
I use She/Her (capitalized) or she/her (lowercase) pronouns - again, can be used interchangeably. I'm a queer trans woman, and I'm monogamish but open to polyamory.
I'm autistic, and I've got some unknown medical problems I need to see a doctor about. I like creating things, but I have trouble finishing projects.
Other places you can find me:
Twitch (Currently inactive due to my PS4 having Red Light of Death'd and my laptop having low RAM)
YouTube (I upload literally anything I want here - gaming videos, shitposting, video essays - whatever I want, whenever I want. I upload very slowly)
Bluesky (I rarely upload here and mainly just lurk)
Ko-Fi (I don't upload anything here, you can just donate to help financially if you'd like)
Considering making a Cohost.
Current projects:
The New Communist Manifesto (I feel that The Communist Manifesto, while a good document, needs to be updated for the modern age, having been outdated by 200 years, which makes it harder for people to truly understand Communism in an age of reborn Red Scares and US Cold Wars overlapping each other. I would appreciate some input on African and West Asian contributions to leftism.)
Gaia Union (A constitution for a Communist country that I've been writing, revising, and completely rebuilding since 2020. This is an extremely long-term project as I'd like it to accommodate for as many problems as possible before attempting creating the country itself, so that it doesn't require as many revisions initially, and supports its people more than adequately.)
Hypixel Skyblock but it's played by an idiot (A Minecraft YouTube series tracking my slow progress in Hypixel Skyblock)
Video Essays (continual) (Video essays ranging from video games to serious topics. These take weeks to months to create, and days to weeks to edit. I also take the time to subtitle every video I release, sometimes before release, and sometimes after - this may take me weeks or months, depending on video length and IRL issues.)
Special tags I'll be using in the future:
#mdmp art, #mdmp art (year): Self-explanatory, I'll be using this for my art
#fav: This'll help me find things I really like
#it me, #mdmp irl: If I ever take selfies I'll slap them in these
#gaia union: Topics related to the Gaia Union project
#ncm: Topics related to the New Communist Manifesto project
#video essay, #video essays: Self explanatory; I'll put video essays under here
#mdmp rambles: Random text posts from me
Stances: (More can be found beneath the cut on account of length)
2024 US Election: Vote for Dr. Cornel West, Ph.D.. I have a video essay on this subject here, as well as a detailed explanation here.
Claudia de la Cruz is a bad option, as the Party for Socialism and Liberation has a Conservative 5th Column, and has frequent problems with discrimination, so Dr. Cornel West, Ph.D. continues to be the ideal option.
Political and socioeconomic: I'm a Communist - this means that I believe in a stateless, classless, moneyless society. As a shorthand: I believe that workers should own their workplaces, with CEOs being democratically elected by their employees,
and the government functioning mainly as representatives for their people, processing the public's votes and distributing resources without denying human rights as a threat for employees not working at, "peak efficiency."
AI: The name, "AI," is a misnomer used to describe a variety of improved versions of technology we've had for decades, and the modern use of it is generally used for crypto pumping, art theft, and money laundering.
Programs such as Midjourney and ChatGPT use large amounts of electricity and water, as well as contributing negatively to climate change via rare earth metal mines.
I would recommend this excellent video essay by Philosophy Tube on this subject. I tend to refer to it by a variety of terms, such as (but not limited to) Digital Hapsburg Generators, Long-Form Autocorrect, and Automated Theft Engines.
J.K. Rowling: Rowling is an anti-feminist misogynistic transphobic prick who doesn't just actively make things worse for trans women, but women in general. You can't participate in death-of-the-author if the author is still alive. Do not buy her products, including Hogwarts Legacy.
As an aside, I also recommend this video essay about the problems with her Harry Potter series, critiquing her work as an author, even outside of her Twitter politics and donations to far- and alt-right organizations.
Russian invasion of Ukraine: Russia doesn't have the right to invade Ukraine, even if the USSR previously had Ukraine as a state within it.
This is a gross misrepresentation of how the states of the USSR worked (though the USSR had many flaws; I recommend these video essays by Socialist YouTuber Hakim discussing the fall of the USSR and flaws with former socialism attempts), and is an excuse to be an expansionist fascist, and is just rooted in Russian nationalism.
Even the Russian people have been losing their shit over their president's actions and don't agree with him.
Atomic Heart: Atomic Heart is a Russian nationalist game, which calls Ukrainians swine/livestock, demonizes Ukrainian technology, uses a floral symbol of Ukraine on a hostile drone, and bases the sex robots off of a prior Ukrainian official.
This game also explicitly uses a military photograph of Russian soldiers participating in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Last of Us: The Last of Us is a game made by a Zionist, based on the Israeli occupation and later holocaust of Palestine, and the second game was explicitly made as, "revenge against Palestinians." As I had the first game gifted to me years before I knew about this, I may make a video essay about this in the future, but I'm not purchasing the second game.

Palworld: Palworld itself is a questionable game, but despite it being pretty much confirmed that they didn't use ATE technology, they do have a lot of blatant theft from other games, independent creators who make Fakemon, and even have a model directly stolen and slightly modified from Game Freak.
The company that made Palworld also has a history of blatant theft, as well as having a game that uses ChatGPT as an actual game mechanic.

Israeli holocaust of Palestine: This is very blatantly a genocide, and calling it a holocaust is in fact justified. Benjamin Netanyahu is actively being antisemitic by attributing this as a Jewish necessity, and is souring Judaism for people who've already been indoctrinated to be antisemitic.
The Israeli holocaust of Palestine has not only been, well, a fucking genocide, but has also increased both Islamophobia and antisemitic violence globally.

“It’s kind of a last-man-standing situation,” says Fred Thiel, CEO of US-based Marathon Digital Holdings. His crypto-mining company, among the largest in the world, has found itself—like the rest of the industry—in the path of a perfect storm.
Over the past year, the sector has been battered by a slump in the price of bitcoin, combined with a spike in the cost of energy and an increase in mining difficulty—a reflection of the amount of computing power directed at the bitcoin network, which dictates the proportion of coins miners are able to win.
At the height of the 2021 boom, profit margins in the mining business rose as high as 90 percent, says Thiel. But now, they have “totally collapsed.” If the price of bitcoin does not rally, he says, there will be “a lot more pain,” and firms that are only marginally profitable today will find themselves “very underwater.”
As they scramble to cut costs, miners are playing a high-stakes game of chicken. In spring 2024, the halving, a mechanism baked into the bitcoin system that periodically cuts the number of coins awarded in half, will slash mining profits. The goal for miners is to ensure they are in a strong enough financial position to survive the fall in profits longer than anyone else; as miners give in and drop from the network, the share of coins won by the rest will increase.
“Any miners that are struggling now will not be able to survive the halving,” says Jeff Burkey, VP of business development at Foundry, which operates its own mining facilities, a large-scale mining pool, and a marketplace for mining hardware. The dynamic will create a rush among miners to get their houses in order, he explains.
Miners will look to eke out additional profit margin wherever they can, whether by deploying superior hardware and cooling techniques, developing software to closely monitor the performance of machines, relocating to territories with cheaper power, or renegotiating the terms of their loans.
Others, like Geosyn Mining, are aiming at vertical integration—all the way down to the energy powering the facilities. The company, says CEO Caleb Ward, wants to construct its own solar farm to power its machines, thereby eliminating a major cost. “We need to be more thoughtful as an industry about how we protect against risk,” he says. “It’s not all about shooting for the moon.”
Meanwhile, the miners whose financial predicaments prevent them from fine-tuning their operations are playing a dangerous waiting game, gambling on an increase in the price of bitcoin that may never come.
“The beauty of halving cycles is that the industry [is forced] to become more efficient—a lot of weaker players will have to exit the business,” says Jeff Lucas, CFO of mining company Bitfarms, which has worked to restructure its finances in the downturn. “The devil is in the details.”
Already on the back foot, mining companies are beginning to fold. Compute North, which owned multiple large-scale mining facilities, filed for bankruptcy in September, and Core Scientific, a publicly traded miner, did the same in December. Others are having to maneuver. Argo Blockchain, also a public company, was forced to sell off mining equipment and its state-of-the-art mining center, while Stronghold Digital Mining has negotiated a debt repayment holiday. Neither company responded to interview requests.
A combination of “immaturity, poor planning, and greed” has led miners to the brink of collapse, says Phil Harvey, CEO of Sabre56, a crypto-mining consultancy firm that also operates its own facilities. While the market was hot, companies took on large amounts of debt at high interest rates (10-20 percent) to finance expansion, says Harvey, and now the value of the coins they earn is insufficient to cover the costs of repayments.
Historically, a steep rise in the price of bitcoin, triggered by a buying frenzy, has been followed by a sharp fall and then a gradual recovery. Although there is no guarantee this pattern will repeat, the process is widely described as the bitcoin cycle. The fatal mistake, says Jaime Leverton, CEO of mining company Hut 8, was to imagine that that 2021 was different—that the industry was in a “supercycle” that was going to “break prior cycles” and extend the hot streak. A lot of people bought into this idea, she explains, and so were caught off-guard when the market tanked.
In an effort to strengthen its own position, Hut 8 is in the process of merging with US Bitcoin, another mining firm. The goal, says Leverton, is to minimize risks associated with the volatility of bitcoin by diversifying both revenue streams and the regions in which the business operates.
Whereas Hut 8 only has facilities in Canada and mines exclusively for itself, US Bitcoin runs mines across the US and hosts mining hardware for third-party customers alongside other auxiliary services. “It’s important to be dynamic,” says Mike Ho, cofounder of US Bitcoin. “There is an optimal strategy, depending on the price of bitcoin. It’s about knowing how to navigate through the cycle at different stages.”
Recognizing the trajectory of the market, other companies have sought to eliminate outstanding debt as rapidly as possible. In the summer of 2021, Bitfarms had $165 million of debt on its books, at interest rates between 16 and 18 percent. Lucas says it may seem “absurd” to stomach these exorbitant rates, but it “made sense” because the cost of debt was eclipsed by the revenue generated by mining activity—at least until it wasn’t.
“As revenues came down dramatically with the price of bitcoin, there was still a high debt to pay for,” he says. “And that put a squeeze on a lot of companies.”
In June 2022, Bitfarms began to sell down the bitcoin in its treasury to eliminate its debt. Earlier this month, the firm also managed to negotiate down a $21 million debt to bankrupt crypto lender BlockFi that was instead paid off in a single $7.75 million cash payment. The company’s approach to slashing debt, coupled with a focus on maximizing the efficiency of its mining rigs, says Lucas, will put Bitfarms in good stead to weather the remainder of the crypto winter.
The scramble among miners to balance the books has attracted the attention of other market participants hoping to increase their market share at a reduced price. Investment firm Galaxy Digital has long been eager to expand its bitcoin-mining operations. Sensing an opportunity, the company swooped in to grab Argo’s flagship Helios mine in December, spending $65 million for a facility reported to have cost at least $1.5 billion to build.
Mergers, acquisitions, and collapses will continue to be a theme, says Alex Mologoko, analyst at blockchain intelligence company Elementus, until “all economically unsustainable mining operations are weeded out.”

The Bitcoin dividing occasion The impending Bitcoin Dividing is ready to happen before long of 2024. This quadrennial peculiarity is set apart by the programmed age of 210,000 blocks inside the Bitcoin mining structure. The Dividing causes a unique case in the computerized money space, perpetually catalyzing an upsurge in market values. Projections recommend that the current year's Dividing on the Prompt Immediate Connect stage could drive BTC valuations past the $100,000 edge. Immediate Connect guideline in created markets Principal economies, including the UK and the US, are on the cusp of carrying out extensive cryptographic money administrative designs. Such administration is expected to catalyze a huge flood in digital money interest, as customary financial backers' confidence in the area cements. For dealers who adventure into the business sectors at this crossroads, the potential for significant additions is enhanced by the vacillations attached to the approaching Immediate Connectguidelines.
