But in the press conference Carmelo is saying that it includes everything under the DORNA umbrella

(add Moto2, Moto, WSSP, WSSP300 and all the other categories that race during a JuniorGP weekend).

1 First season on the "adult's" bikes, after years between minibikes and MiniGP and you've already got interesting results A fourth place in the Italian Moto3 championship, where i race on a Honda. But the best came with the Rookies Cup. It didn't go well in Austin, I even fell in the first race. But I made up for it in Jerez: i got third in the first race and won the following one. I feel good with the KTM and the satisfaction of winning in a Championship raced alongside MotoGP is... too big

2 You can finally see your idols in real life To be honest the rider I like more out of everyone doesn't race anymore. It was Casey Stoner, I adored his way of riding the bike and I especially loved when he won races starting as fast as lighting, getting in front of everyone and going on like this to the end of the race. I know that everybody prefers it when there's fighting on track, but I go against the current. Now I get enchanted watching Marquez.

3 You obviously daydream of following his steps Obviously. What rider wouldn't dream of racing in MotoGP? But you need to go step by step. The Rookies Cup is a gret display window, but the transition to the MotoGP World Championships is only granted to the winner. And there are great riders here...

4 Your biography says that you were already on a motorbike when you were three years and three months old I had training wheels, but they got them of quite early. Bikes don't allow half measures: either you like them a lot or... you do some other sport. I was lucky to have a father who really loved two wheels, but who didn't have the means to race. He passed his passion to me, without ever forcing me. I chose, even when I was young, to race. And it's a pity they don't allow me to get my hands on the engines, in the box, because I would really like to get the bike set on my own.

5 Did you chose the right school? Yes, a mechanical school, where we learn everything about engines. This is my true passion. Last year I used to go to a different school, and I didn't feel well there. I even failed that year. But all it took for everything to get fixed was changing school, following my true inclinations

All'Auditorium Scavolini, la cerimonia ufficiale di consegna del riconoscimento voluto dal sindaco di Pesaro Matteo Ricci e dal Consiglio comunale del Comune di Pesaro. «Un pilota straordinario, cresciuto nel team del nostro Valentino Rossi e che da tanti anni ha scelto di vivere a Pesaro». Due titoli mondiali di MotoGp, uno nella Moto 2, «è un grande talento, una bella persona, con i piedi per terra e sa che ogni giorno deve lavorare tanto – così Ricci -. Come noi gente di provincia, che per arrivare deve correre più degli altri, ma restando umile». Una vittoria che ancora una volta porta nel mondo il nome della Pesaro sportiva e onora la "Terra dei piloti e dei motori"». Queste le motivazioni con le quali il Consiglio comunale ha deciso di attribuire la cittadinanza benemerita, approvando all'unanimità la proposta che il sindaco Matteo Ricci aveva lanciato lo scorso novembre 2022, dopo la conquista del primo titolo mondiale. «La città abbraccia Pecco, il suo campione – afferma il presidente Marco Perugini –. Il sì all'unanimità dell'assise dimostra quanto sia grande l'orgoglio di avere Pecco a Pesaro. Abbiamo aspettato un anno per consegnare la cittadinanza benemerita - scherza – perché sapevamo che avrebbe vinto il secondo titolo nella classe regina». Nella delibera di consiglio per il riconoscimento assegnato ai "cittadini residenti a Pesaro che con opere concrete, anche nel campo dello sport, abbiano in qualsiasi modo giovato alla città, rendendone più alto il prestigio", sono: "Cresciuto a Chivasso, comincia a farsi notare nelle categorie Minimoto e MiniGP, della quale diventa campione europeo nel 2009. Nel 2010 corre nel campionato mediterraneo 125 PreGP, concludendo secondo. Nel 2011 e nel 2012 prende parte al campionato spagnolo velocità, classificandosi al terzo posto finale, prima nella classe 125 e poi nella classe Moto3, ottenendo in ciascuna stagione una vittoria in gara. Esordisce nel motomondiale nel 2013 in Moto3, nel 2017 si trasferisce in Moto2 con lo SKY Racing Team VR46. Nel 2018 si aggiudica il campionato del mondo di Moto2, diventando il primo pilota della scuderia Sky Racing TeamVR46 a vincere un titolo mondiale. Nel 2019 l'esordio in Moto GP, nel 2021 passa nel team ufficiale Ducati chiudendo la stagione al secondo posto a 26 punti dal campione Fabio Quartararo su Yamaha. Nel 2022 si aggiudica il titolo di Campione del mondo divenendo il secondo italiano a vincere un titolo in MotoGP, 13 anni dopo l'ultimo conquistato da Valentino Rossi, riportando il titolo alla Ducati dopo 15 anni e diventando anche il quarto italiano a vincere il mondiale nella classe regina con una moto italiana ben 50 anni dopo l'ultima volta.
