I can’t be totally shocked bc that’s his full name, but why the sudden change?? I also didn’t know how he was able to get to go by a nickname when everyone else goes by full names

I didn't post it because I haven't heard anything. I was waiting to see if DAZN or Dani himself explained it, but they haven't done it yet.

I don't know and I can only speculate, and once it's reveled, that can be somewhere between tomorrow and never knowing Daniel, I will post the reality.

So Spain at least, it's very usual to shorten names and Daniel is always Dani. Now, my guess is that either Dani feels is very childish/child-like/immature as it's more common to kids to go by the nicknames while adults then to go by their full names. Him and Jorge had been talking recently about their ages and how they are getting old, so I can see Dani wanting to get rid of that and get into the 'mature' name.

The other option I can come up is to avoid confusion. Holgado is also Dani and if Dani is supposed to sped time with the GasGas crew to coach or at least keep an eye on Pedro it might cause some confusion, so he opted to go by Daniel. Of course I might be wrong, but those are the only plausible options I can come up at the moment
