Nonna Fusco’s Kitchen - MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ
Chelsea and I recently went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes at MetLife Stadium. I usually try to avoid paying the ridiculous prices for stadium food at all costs, but for some reason Nonna Fusco's just kept calling to me and I had to try it. I mean, it could be years before I go back, and do I really want to live my life wondering for that long? No, I don't. So before RHCP went on, I decided to just go for it.
First off, I must be crazy for going through with this because a single slice of pizza was $6 for plain or pepperoni. Obviously I got the free peps. Boy am I glad I did, because I don't know how good a plain would've been. The sauce was thick for my liking but luckily didn't have an overpowering flavor. I assume it was the equally thick and dense cheese balancing it out. The pepperoni was also quite good and had a nice kick. More than I was expecting, that's for sure. The crust was probably the weakest part, being a little too tough.
While I would by no means say Nonna Fusco's was great, I will say that this may have been the best slice of stadium pizza I've ever had. I don't think I would pay $6 to have it again, but you could definitely do worse.
