are there any problematic motogp riders i should know about or avoid?
Hi anon 👋👋. oh boy I'm going to get so much hate for this
You all people need to stop putting riders into pedestals and thinking they are perfects because they are not. They are humans, and they all have faults (some more visible than others). Also what someone considers problematic might not be for others. Like for example, Vale and Marc are both experts in manipulate the media to suit their narratives and that can be a red flag for some people. Or maybe Aleix being too direct can be seen as negative because his mouth has put him in so much trouble.
Anyway said this here (under the cut for those who want to avoid it) it is what I remember at the moment. If anyone wants to add something, feel free to do it.
First of all we have a lot of riders and engineers living in Andorra that is tax haven (Aleix, Pol, Rins, Fabio Q., Iker, Joan, Brad, Miller and The Team Suzuki ECSTAR crew used to live there, also Maverick used to live in Andorra (apparently he went back to Roses after having his daughter)). And Rossi also used to live in London and got in troubles for that.
Then we have the misogynistic comments from Miller (he said something of mocking a friend every time he lost in a race against María Herrera, the borderline treatment Vanessa, the Inside Pass host get from him and the mockery) and Pecco Bagnaia who said 'I was like a women in my period complaining ad moaning' after he broke his leg. Oh and don't forget Miller called other riders princesses for complaining about their bike instead of just riding it.
And we have racist comments from Yamaha's test rider Cal Crutchlow who refused to shake hands with an Asian fan during the pandemic and said something about all of it (pandemic) being because someone eat something he shouldn't. Probably there is more, but I don't really remember. And the worst part is that his team manager, Lucio Cecchinello covered it all. Lucio is also not a saint, he treats differently Rins than he does with Nakagami (brought Rins to his museum and told him to get a podium because it will be X (I can't remember probably 50 or 100) podium of the team, but I can't remember him doing it with Nakagami. There's also Gelete Nieto (Moto2 team manager (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp or something like that)) who literally said that Asian riders do much worse that the European ones.
Then we have Fabio Quartararo, who had endangered himself and other riders by riding with his leathers open and throwing the chest protector in the middle of a race track while there was a race going on. And when celebrating a victory, we throw a golf a ball where there was still bikes on track.
And Pecco Bagnaia during the 2022 summer got drunk in Ibiza, got in the car and had an accident (crashed it into a roundabout) and only got a slap in the wrist. He also dedicated a special helmet to Dennis Rodman (if you don't know him, go and read his wiki page). There something less controversial about him, but still put him as a red flag. When he doesn't get what he wants, he goes to the media and cry and gets it. He also believes no one can race him on a race on the race track and never will admit his mistakes. And because we are on the Pecco topic, Ducati just put all o this under the rug and gives him whatever he wants. Ducai actually banned one jorno for commenting on one of this thing because it annoyed Pecco.
And let's not forget Johann Zarco, the dirtiest rider of all! He is like a kid on the track, when he knows he is going to lose and he doesn't want to and got the wired crossed, he does dumb stuff to endanger other riders. He recently had an incident that ended in red flag, and was the cause that Maverick and Vale where reborn during Race 1 in Austria 2020. And previously he tried to grab the break of another rider at the end of a race (last lap, after the final corner) because he knew he was going to lose de to the slipstream (Zarco was fighting for the championship that year and winning that race would have helped him)! Fortunately nothing happened in there but it could have ended in disaster.
And the ex-riders:
Dani Pedrosa, actually spend a night in jail for cheating on a boat exam and got arrested. He apologised immediately even if it wasn't necessary.
Aspar (MotoGP legend and Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE team owner) and Jorge Lorenzo got in trouble with the Spanish public tresor.

Exposing the Exploitation of College Athletes
Imagine coming to work every day, risking significant bodily harm, generating hundreds of millions of dollars every year, but not receiving any kind of pay, would you stay in the job? This, in many cases, is the life of a college athlete. Modern slavery is defined as “when an individual is exploited by others, for personal or commercial gain”. So, I ask you, is this any different?
Student athletes are demanded so much of them and are the heart and soul of a billion-dollar market, but unlike anyone else working within college sports, they’re the only ones who don’t receive a slice of the pie. The question is, do they deserve to?
Tumblr media
This blog will analyse the various aspects of this controversial topic and look at the long fight college athletes have had for proper compensation.
What is the NCAA?
The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) is the governing body for college sports and athletes in the USA and Canada. The member-led organisation is responsible for the competition and eligibility rules for intercollegiate athletics. It was formed in 1906, and consist of 1,100 member schools, representing more than 500,000 athletes. The NCAA states it is “dedicated to the well-being and lifelong success of college athletes”, but how dedicated are they really?
A Brief History of the NCAA
Tumblr media
How Popular is College Sports?
In 2022, the NCAA made $870 million in TV revenue alone. 14.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the 2023 March Madness Basketball Championship game, which is more than the number who tuned in for the final round of the 2023 Masters Golf Championship. In 2020/21, the NCAA awarded over 152,000 athletic scholarships.
In the USA, college sports are often just as popular as their professional counterparts. For example, the largest stadium In College American Football is the University of Michigan’s 107,601-seater stadium. This is 25,101 more seats than the largest stadium in the NFL: the New York Jets and New York Giants shared home, MetLife Stadium. College fans are also among some of the most dedicated in the world. In 2022, fans of Indiana University were seen to be waiting outside their stadium 24 hours before their big basketball game versus the University of North Carolina to secure tickets.
Tumblr media
As you can see, college sports is a huge industry. The athletes are the centre of this popularity and are the reason so much revenue is able to be generated. Therefore, it seems only logical that the athletes should be compensated, especially when you see the sacrifices they make.
Leaving it all on the field, for what?
All college athletes make tremendous physical sacrifice on their journey through college. In the NCAA there are 20,718 American football injuries a year, with 841 of them being spinal injuries. For some, these injuries can be life-changing…
In 1955, Ray Dennison suffered a head injury, and later died, while playing in an American football game for Fort Lewis A&M. When his widow applied for workmen’s compensation benefits, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled against Dennison’s widow, and said they weren’t eligible for benefits because the college was “not in the football business”. This isn’t just an issue of the past, more recently, when Rutgers player Eric LeGrand suffered a paralysing spinal cord injury in 2010, and there have been so many more examples of players suffering life-changing injuries throughout the history of college athletics, showing how this is a ever-present issue, and a constant risk.
Tumblr media
Incidents and court cases like these coined the term ‘student athlete.’ This term was deliberately ambiguous. They weren’t just ‘students’, to not understate their athletic obligations, but they also aren’t just ‘athletes’, which might imply they are professionals. This means universities can forgive athletes for not meeting academic standards, but also are not required to provide compensation for any more than the cost of their studies. This meant the exploitation could continue. Colleges could keep using these young people for their financial gain and could continue not providing them with the compensation they deserve.
It is too easy for the NCAA to exploit these athletes. They demand total commitment and complete allegiance to the sport. But if they’re hurt during this commitment, the organisation can claim you’re just a student, toss you aside, with insufficient support and no help, to bring in the next man.
Ed O’Bannon vs NCAA
In 2009, a cornerstone was turned in the fight against the NCAA. Ed O’Bannon, UCLA Basketball star, was visiting a friend when his friend’s son shouted “Ed, you’re in my video game!” O’Bannon was furious. No one had asked his permission, and he was certainly not paid for his likeness being used.
O’Bannon lawyered up and sued the NCAA, alleging antitrust law violations, by preventing college athletes from earning money from licensing opportunities. This lawsuit generated enormous publicity and discussion and was the first major blow to the NCAA’s amateurism regime, and the first step in a long walk for justice.
The Breakthrough
In 2021, college football was changed forever. College sports has been strictly amateur since 1869. But for the first time, players can now legally put some money in their pockets.
NCAA athletes can now earn money through business ventures, without jeopardising their eligibility, thanks to the changes in the NIL rules. The NIL rule changes allow players the right to sell their name, image and likeness, and profit off themselves. They are also now able to endorse, promote and advertise businesses. Although, this relies on the athlete’s ability to monetise themselves, and is definitely not the same as them receiving a salary.
Tumblr media
This meant that players can financially benefit from their fame, giving them some security. Should they suffer a life-changing injury, they could have financial support, which they have not had until now. But is it enough? Do they not deserve their share of the revenue? Do they not deserve to be treated as athletes?
Where is the fight going?
To play devil’s advocate, some may say the awarding of athletic scholarships to athletes is sufficient payment for their services. However, this is not unique to sports. Universities offer academic scholarships for a variety of different disciplines, with a lot of these being much more secure than athletic scholarships. If a player gets injured, they risk losing their funding, and will be cast away, with no financial support from the university that at one point hailed them as heroes.
There has been a long line of people who have contributed to college athlete’s fight for compensation, and the fight is still ongoing. In December 2023, three college athletes, from American football and basketball, have once again sued the NCAA over lack of pay. Martyrs have risked their bodies, their livelihoods and even their lives. You will watch these athletes compete, fight and risk everything on the television for your entertainment, and they deserve to be compensated, and they deserve to be supported, even beyond their collegiate lives, for the sacrifice that they make, and the value their sacrifice brings.

A Non-Exhaustive List of Stuff to Watch During the Strike
Everybody has a backlog of things to watch, but for everyone who is like me and routinely looks at that backlog and goes "but none of those hundred things sound interesting right now", here are some recommendations.
If You Have…
NETFLIX
Avatar The Last Airbender: Animated/Fantasy; 3 seasons; A teenage chosen one reawakens 100 years into the war he’s meant to stop. If you somehow are on Tumblr and haven’t seen this show, give it a try now.
Cunk on Earth: Documentary; 1 season; A very serious documentary that very seriously tells the story of the history of human progress.
Glow Up (2019): Competition; 4 seasons; Aspiring makeup artists compete for opportunities in the industry.
Nailed It! (2018): Competition; 7 seasons; Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres laugh with people who are not bakers as they try to bake extremely complicated desserts in less time than professionals could do it.
Wynonna Earp (2016): Western Horror; 4 seasons; The cursed descendant of famous lawman Wyatt Earp hunts demons in a small Canadian town alongside her (canonically bisexual) little sister, a US Marshall, an immortal Doc Holliday, and a (canonically lesbian) local cop.
HULU
Domino Masters (2022): Competition; 1 season; A competition show where teams build Rube Goldberg devices primarily focusing on dominos.
Holey Moley (2019): Competition; 3 seasons; Increasingly ridiculous mini golf holes where the ball can go into a water hazard but the people go in much more frequently.
Lego Masters (2020): Competition; 3 seasons; Teams of two build complex Lego designs based on each week’s theme.
Primeval (2007): Sci-Fi; 5 seasons; British scientists and government officials discover fluctuating portals to various time periods, which release dinosaurs and other creatures into the modern day. You’ll watch the first season and go “idk why this is considered good” and then all the other seasons will happen.
DISNEY PLUS
DuckTales (2017): Animated/Adventure Comedy; 3 seasons; A reboot of the 80s show of the same name, but with better character development and better treatment of its female characters.
The Owl House (2020): Animated/Horror Comedy; 3 seasons; An Afro Latina human girl is on her way to summer camp to be taught “normalcy” when she goes through a portal and finds herself in the Demon Realm. She decides that it’s way better than camp and stays. Friendship, family, love, and PTSD ensue.
MAX
Baking Championships: The Baking Championships (Kids Baking Championship, Halloween Baking Championship, Holiday Baking Championship, Spring Baking Champion Championship) are all a nice heartwarming fun time.
The Great Pottery Throw Down (2015): Competition; 5 seasons; You know how chill and fun GBBO is? Imagine that but with pottery.
CRUNCHYROLL
RWBY (2013): Animated/Fantasy; 9 seasons; A group of girls join a school to train for hunting monsters and fighting crime with cool weapons that are usually some sort of melee weapon and also a gun. The animation gets better with every season.
NO STREAMING SERVICES
Board Game Club: An ongoing series on the No Rolls Barred YouTube page; a bunch of people get together and play board games. This probably sounds like it would be boring but it is absolutely fantastic.
Critical Role: YouTube; 2 completed campaigns, 1 ongoing; A group of voice actor friends get together to play Dungeons and Dragons. Increasingly well-produced over time.
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries: 100 episodes; An adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that takes place entirely over vlogs. Very funny, handles the confines of a vlog setting fairly well, and Ashley Clements (Lizzie) is fabulous.
Video Game YouTubers: Particularly Let’s Plays, speedruns, and challenges. I personally enjoy Pokemon challenges like by FlygonHG, and Super Mario Odyssey Hide and Seek by a bunch of different Mario streamers is great fun.

Nintendo Switch Online: Every NES, SNES, Game Boy, N64, Sega Genesis, And GBA Game
Tumblr media
Nintendo has been slowly beefing up its library of games available to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
What began as a library of just 20 NES games has grown to include dozens more. Plus, Nintendo has since introduced SNES, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, and even Sega Genesis games, giving players a chance to play some fan-favorite classics and some deep cuts, too. It’s hard to predict when new games might arrive as the company has maintained a somewhat inconsistent cadence in doing so, but that’s okay because this list is all you need.
As Nintendo adds new titles, we’ll be sure to update this list to include them. If you’re looking for something specific, use this story’s Table of Contents to jump to the different consoles quickly. Here’s every NES, SNES, Game Boy, N64, Genesis, and GBA game added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Arabian Ranches: An Oasis in the Desert
Tumblr media
In the desert just outside Dubai, Arabian Ranches is among the most popular and exclusive communities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Known for its lavish villas, championship golf courses, and family-friendly amenities, Arabian Ranches offers a luxurious suburban lifestyle against the backdrop of the arid Arabian landscape.
Overview of Arabian Ranches
Arabian Ranches was established in 2002 by Emaar Properties as a master-planned community spanning over 10 million square feet. The community contains over 2,000 Spanish-Mediterranean-style villas, as well as townhouses and apartments set amidst lush landscaping. Residents enjoy three championship golf courses, a polo and equestrian club, community parks, schools, shops, restaurants, and other amenities contained within the closed community walls. Arabian Ranches is divided into distinctive sub-communities with names like Mirador, Alma, Al Reem, Saheel, and Desert Iris, each with its own style and ambiance. Home prices in Arabian Ranches range from AED 2 million for a townhouse to over AED 20 million for a luxury villa.
Is Arabian Ranches 3 a Good Investment?
Arabian Ranches 3 is the latest expansion of the Arabian Ranches community, offering an additional 457 villas and townhouses. Launched in mid-2021, Arabian Ranches 3 features five new residential neighbourhoods - Lotus, Orchid, Lily, Jasmine, and Hibiscus - with homes ranging from 3 to 6 bedrooms. Villas feature contemporary architectural designs with open layouts, floor-to-ceiling windows, private gardens and pools.
Real estate experts widely regard Arabian Ranches as one of Dubai’s most desirable and exclusive communities. Arabian Ranches consistently experiences strong home buyer interest and solid price appreciation year after year. The average villa value has increased from AED 2 million in 2014 to AED 3.5 million today, representing over 50% price growth in 8 years. In 2021, Arabian Ranches ranked as Dubai’s neighborhood with the highest rate of price growth.
The recently completed Arabian Ranches 3 looks poised to follow the footsteps of its predecessor. With its family-friendly environment, resort-style amenities, and sense of community, demand for Arabian Ranches remains high while new supply is limited. Investors and end-users alike consider Arabian Ranches a safe long-term bet for capital appreciation and a high quality of life. In summary, Arabian Ranches 3 represents an excellent investment opportunity.
Is Arabian Ranches 3 Completed?
Yes, Arabian Ranches 3 was completed in 2021. Emaar officially announced the project sell-out and completion of all homes in October 2021. The community is now fully occupied by residents.
Arabian Ranches 3 took approximately 2 years from launch to completion. Construction began in early 2020, with the initial home deliveries occurring at the end of 2020. Through 2021, the remaining houses and amenities were finished in phases. The final touches - including the landscaping, retail areas, sports facilities and community center – were put into place by the project’s conclusion in Q4 2021.
In total, Arabian Ranches 3 added 457 luxury homes featuring Mediterranean and Spanish colonial designs to the established Arabian Ranches community. The new development includes villas with 3 to 6 bedrooms, all with private pools, yards, and indoor/outdoor living areas. The five neighborhoods – Lotus, Orchid, Lily, Jasmine and Hibiscus – each have their own architectural personality. As the second expansion of Arabian Ranches, Arabian Ranches 3 has seamlessly blended into the surrounding community with access to the existing facilities and lifestyle offerings within Arabian Ranches.
How many Arabian Ranches are there?
There is only one Arabian Ranches community, which is divided into three phases:
Phase 1:Arabian Ranches
Phase 2: Arabian Ranches 2
Phase 3: Arabian Ranches 3
Originally launched in 2002, Arabian Ranches Phase 1 covers the majority of the community with over 2,000 Spanish-style villas and townhouses, the main commercial center called Arabian Ranches Souk, multiple parks, nurseries, schools, mosques, restaurants, fitness centers and the three signature golf courses.
In 2015, Arabian Ranches 2 launched as an extension of the original community, providing an additional 184 homes.
The latest iteration, Arabian Ranches 3, was completed in 2021 with over 450 luxury villas and townhouses in five new neighborhoods. This marked the conclusion of Arabian Ranches build-out.
In summary, a single master-planned development known as Arabian Ranches now consists of three completed phases over an approximate 20 year build-out timeline by master developer Emaar Properties. The entire community is interconnected with complimentary Dubai-Spanish architectural styles and every phase has access to the lifestyle amenities, retail stores, services, and country club found throughout Arabian Ranches.
Is Arabian Ranches Expensive?
Yes, compared to other communities in Dubai, Arabian Ranches is widely considered a luxury and premium suburb with higher priced villas and cost of living. Several factors contribute to the expense of Arabian Ranches:
Prime Location: Arabian Ranches proximity to main highways, Downtown Dubai, and attractions like Dubai Miracle Garden makes it a prime location that commands higher values.
Prestige: As one of Dubai’s most prestigious addresses, living in Arabian Ranches affords a certain elite status that buyers are willing to pay more for.
Limited Supply: With limited villa supply and extremely low availability, competition is fierce among buyers, allowing sellers to demand higher prices.
High Demand: Arabian Ranches remains exceptionally popular with residents and investors year after year, further enabling sellers to ask higher prices due to excessive demand.
Luxury Living: From championship golf courses, Polo clubs, and 5-star resort style amenities, Arabian Ranches is synonymous with luxury, exclusive living, that comes at a premium cost.
Premium Build Quality: Large plot sizes, private gardens and pools, customized luxury villa designs using premium construction materials all contribute to home values that eclipse other communities with smaller or less personalized real estate products.
In summary, owning property in Arabian Ranches requires having a relatively high budget compared to other parts of Dubai. Villa prices now average AED 3.5M+ with some luxury estate homes exceeding AED 20M. The associated country club membership fees, school tuitions, retail expenditures and cost to maintain larger houses also requires significant income and assets. While expensive, Arabian Ranches remains an aspirational community that delivers an unmatched lifestyle experience for those who can afford it.

Woods to play in the Bahamas his first competition since the Masters | Golf
Woods to play in the Bahamas, his first competition since the Masters | Golf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUFmzkN2zvQ Tiger Woods showed he could walk four days while caddying for his son. Now he has decided he is fit enough to try to play. Woods announced on social media Saturday he will be playing in the Hero World Challenge, which starts Nov. 30 at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. It will be his first time competing since he withdrew before the third round at the Masters after battling the wind and cold while playing on his injured right leg. His TGR company announced his decision to take a sponsor exemption. The 20-man field is for the top 50 in the world ranking, though the tournament host — Woods — is exempt. Woods had said in an interview with The Associated Press last week, when discussing his ownership of a team in the tech-driven TGL league, that his right ankle is pain-free after being fused in a surgery in April following the Masters. “My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issue whatsoever,” Woods said. “That pain is completely gone. It’s the other areas that have been compensated for.” He compared it with when he had fusion surgery on his lower back. He said the L5 and S1 vertebrae were fine. “But all the surrounding areas is where I had all my problems and I still do,” he said. “So you fix one, others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues.” Woods recently caddied for his son, Charlie, at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship, sparking speculation that he was close to playing again. Woods will be playing the Hero World Challenge for the first time since 2019. The holiday event was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and then he badly damaged his right leg in a February 2021 car crash outside of Los Angeles that threatened to end his career. He returned a year later at the Masters and made the cut, and he played in two more majors, including what figures to be his final appearance at St. Andrews in the British Open. He has said his tournament play would be limited, and he played only the Genesis Invitational at Riviera, which he hosts, and the Masters this year before having surgery on his ankle. Woods has not won since the Zozo Championship in Japan in the fall of 2019, the year he won the Masters for his 15th major. The Hero World Challenge is 72 holes with no cut.
