The Terrain
Tumblr media
The Dwarven Forge Dungeons of Doom tiles and Dungeon Lair chairs are campaign 2 staples at this point. Another terrain maker often seen on CR is Mantic Games and their Terrain Crate line, with models appearing as far back as C2E35 during another sloppy heist. The large round table pictured above on the right is from this product line. I thought it was new to CR, but upon review, I discovered that the same model was in the Pumat Sol storefront fight. Maybe Pumat Sol won a magic furniture contract with the Cerberus Assembly? Neutral Capitalist is a vicious alignment.
It’s a nice table. Trouble is that the original Kickstarter run of this Terrain Crate table was a bit on the bendy side, giving it a sorta melty Salvador Dalí clock look. This is not an uncommon problem with minis cast in softer plastic and generally can be fixed with the hot/boiling water dip method, during which the model can be reshaped. But it looks good here, so either Mantic Games has improved their manufacturing or Matt did some water-based carpentry work on this wood table.
The Baddies?
Tumblr media
The guards minis and the spellcaster mini in this section of the sanatorium have appeared in other episodes. The spellcaster was pretty difficult to identify given how far zoomed out the battle cam was. I was initially convinced it was a totally different figure. But after further analysis, looks like it’s our old dreaded adversary Tomb of Annihilation #018 Valindra Shadowmantle as seen in the cathedral battle. A pretty dreadful model indeed, works well enough in this capacity as a spellslinging goon, but definitely not fit for a PC or important NPC.
The Spell Effects
Tumblr media
Clever use of a transparent plastic spell overlay. Looks neato. This specific spell effect is the Arcknight 5E Wizard Spell Effects SUNBEAM template:

Closing Thoughts
One relatively minor complaint about Arcknight products. This may have changed since I bought some of their stuff, but as of a few years ago, none of their stuff came pre-cut. Which I get would be wildly expensive from a production standpoint to do, but it’s a bit of a hassle for the consumer, particular for someone such as I who never quite achieved straight line cutting proficiency.
See ya next post!

Supergirl (1984) dir. Jeannot Szwarc. 7.3/10
How does she know that Kal-El goes by Clark Kent or Superman?
How much time has passed by, while she was on Earth, in Argo City? Shit don’t add up.
Spoiler: [About Zaltar trying to replicate a tree from Earth using his wand on Argo City. He borrowed the city’s power source, the Omegahedron,  to try and give the tree life. Kara watches him in his creative ways and talks with him about his ideals to leave the city even though it isn’t deemed possible. He believes its possible through the binary chute while in the traveler. He gives his wand and Omegahedron to Kara as he talks with her mother about his plans to leave. She creates a beautiful creature and it buzzes against the walls separating them from space. It opens up a hole, causing the Omegahedron to fly out. As Zaltar is punished and sent to the Phantom Zone since the Omegahedron is needed to keep the city alive. At this time, Kara escapes through the traveler and is headed for Earth as her parents understand what happened and that she won’t be the same because of the radiation she goes through. A witch on Earth named Selena finds the Omegahedron and leaves her partner, Nigel after discovering the power she has come across. As he’s left behind, he notices Kara flying about. Kara explores Earth and her bracelet that Zaltar gave her flashes whenever she’s near the Omegahedron. The following day, she comes across a softball game and transforms her clothes to match the school’s uniform. She enters the head’s office and as he steps out for a moment, she quickly submits a recommendation letter to have her attend this school from Clark Kent, her cousin. She refers to herself as Linda Lee as she is put in the same dorm room as Lucy Lane, Lois Lane’s sister. They establish that Lois and Clark know each other through work. Selena works with her partner, Bianca, and keeps the Omegahedron in a shadow coffer as she mingles with high class people. Later, as she is driving around, she tells Bianca that she wants everyone to serve her by loving her. When Bianca shows interest towards a groundskeeper named Ethan, Selena decides to make him fall in love with herself. As Linda goes through school, she stops bullies from messing around with the school and Lucy. It’s a 3 day weekend and even though Linda kindly refuses to join Lucy’s getaway since she wants to stay and organize, she’s invited to Popeye’s later to hangout and meet Jimmy Olsen, who has an interest in Lucy. Linda goes around flying to see where the Omegahedron could be. Selena creates a love potion that will make the drinker fall in love with the first person they say for 24 hours or until the spider inside a nutshell gets out. She gets Ethan to drink it and he goes unconscious. As Nigel stops by to talk to her, Ethan manages to escape. The Omegahedron allows her mirror to reveal where Ethan is and she uses its powers to get him back to her. He is in a dazed state as he roams the streets and the magic allows a bulldozer to capture him to return him. Lois, Lucy, and Jimmy sees all this and Lucy manages to take a hold of the bulldozer, but also gets knocked out. Supergirl saves them all and Ethan sees her face and falls in love with Linda since she transformed back. They kiss after he expresses his love for her. She leaves and gets back to the dorm. As Selena sends the shadow to attack Linda, Supergirl manages to use lightening to attack the shadow and defeat it. She then has her bracelet light up to where Selena’s place is, but she gets distracted by Ethan, who followed her. He comes with flowers and chocolates and wants to ride amusement park rides that are right there. They ride and he wants her to marry him, but she says she doesn’t even know him as he continues to try to woo her, which he does. Selena confronts them and uses her powers to attack them. Supergirl manages to save him and he says he needs to go back to save Linda. She kisses him and he realizes she’s Linda. As the powers can harder to control, Bianca recommends bringing Nigel back. Nigel does and provides his wand, which allows her better control. She teleports Ethan back to her and makes him serve her. She also has Supergirl sent to the Phantom Zone while she takes over cities. Jimmy and Lucy stand up
to her and she takes them and Nigel in as prisoners. Linda meets Zaltar in the Phantom Zone and he has become despondent to trying to live. She helps encourage him until he snaps out of it and he tells a possibility of trying to escape the Phantom Zone. They go through a maelstrom and as Selena notices them escaping, she sends a stronger storm. Zaltar falls to his death and Supergirl makes it out. She gets back and attacks Selena. As the shadow subdues Supergirl, Ethan covers the Omegahedron with the coffer, helping her. She then sends Selena into the mirror. Ethan snapped out of his spell a while back, but still expresses his love for Linda and says he’ll explain to the others why Linda is gone. Everything goes back to normal in town. Jimmy and Lucy kiss. Supergirl goes back home with the Omegahedron.]
