Breaking the Mold: Introducing MSCHF's Unexpectedly Classic Sneaker, The FWD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brooklyn-based creative studio MSCHF is renowned for its boundary-pushing and unconventional footwear creations. However, its latest release, the "MSCHF FWD Shoe," marks a departure from its usual avant-garde designs, offering a more traditional approach to sneaker design.
Following up on the innovative "BWD" or backward shoe, which featured a unique toe box removal allowing for reversible wear, the FWD Shoe maintains a similar aesthetic but in a more conventional manner.
Originally teased in the description of the BWD release in March 2023, which hinted at the existence of "FWD Shoes," the FWD pair now confirms this speculation. It features a predominantly white upper, accentuated by off-white suede at the toe box and orange suede at the heel. The shoe is further embellished with a black midsole speckled with white paint splatter and adorned with an orange "MSCHF" logo.
Released as a surprise drop on February 9 via a draw in the MSCHF Sneakers App, the FWD Shoe retails for $135 USD. Despite its departure from MSCHF's signature eccentricity, this release demonstrates the brand's versatility and ability to cater to both traditional and avant-garde sneaker enthusiasts alike.

They have holes for the legs on both sides - and this is not a joke. A few weeks ago, Brooklyn-based creative studio MSCHF made a splash with their oversized red boots inspired by the cult anime series Astro Boy. They were worn with pleasure by bloggers and celebrities. Sneakers Photo: MSCHF (mschf.com) Now MSCHF has unveiled a new shoe, the BWD sneaker. Possibly the first athletic shoe that can be worn turned either way, casually and as mules. In addition, the sneakers are fully ventilated, similar to slates. Sneakers "BWD" Photo: MSCHF (mschf.com) The rest of the sneaker is a regular nineties-inspired red suede with a white leather upper, perforated midsole, and ankle stripes. Branded three exclamation marks are located throughout the pair. Sneakers Photo: MSCHF (mschf.com) The sneakers will be sold from April 11 exclusively through the MSCHF app. Sneakers Photo: MSCHF (mschf.com) Кроссовки BWDФото: MSCHF (mschf.com) Sneakers Photo: MSCHF (mschf.com)
