Madrid, Week 1: La Bicicriti
Hola a todxs, soy Niko otra vez!! I’ve been in Madrid now for a little longer than a week, but it has felt like I’ve been here for a month. I watched a VSauce video about this phenomenon a while ago; Basically, when your days are filled with many novel, interesting events, your brain remembers the time spent as feeling longer than reality because there are more memories filling the space. That’s definitely true. I’m writing this in a cute cafe in the neighborhood Lavapies, while some old guy named Jesus who speaks in an accent that I can barely understand starts conversation with me, just one example.
As I mentioned last week, one of my hobbies is rollerblading. I started doing it when I was around 12 years old. I loved doing aggressive/trick rollerblading in skate parks, and I even went to a sleepaway camp to skate one summer. It was super epic.
Then, highschool started, and I lost a whole lot of time; I stopped rollerblading — until I rediscovered it in college again. At Michigan, I found people that loved rollerblading as much if not more than me, and the activity turned from something nerdy that I used to do when I was little into something cool in which I could find a community at Michigan (shoutout skate club!).
So, when I was preparing to leave for Madrid, I struggled with the decision to bring my skates or not. They probably weigh 10 pounds or something absurd, not very conducive to luggage with weight limits. But a friend of mine who had studied in Europe in the past told me I’d be crazy not to bring them; they were right.
Fast forward a week after I arrive, and I’m rollerblading through the streets of Madrid, drum & bass music blasting from a massive speaker strapped to someone’s bike, a mob of bikers, longboarders, and rollerbladers alike engulfing me on all sides. No police, no group leader, no motors, just a critical mass of people partying and celebrating sustainable travel.
However, finding this “party on wheels” (as my new friend Jander described it) wouldn’t have been possible if not for a good amount of courage and trust. How did I find it? It was a multi step process:
Step 1: Look up on Google “rollerblading in madrid”. Find the instagram page “@madrid.fns”, or Friday night skate, which does a big skate through the city one Friday every month.
Step 2: Go to the first FNS event. It got rained out, so it was rescheduled to an indoor skate rink. I went there alone, feeling timid but determined to get involved in the community. When I arrived, I strapped on my skates and started going around the circle somewhat awkwardly practicing my footwork, wanting to start a conversation but not confident enough to interac with anyone.
Tumblr media
Step 3: Have a nice middle aged rollerblading spanish guy approach you because you definitely looked super awkward. We started talking, my nerves imposing somewhat of a block on my spanish speaking abilities. However, we talked about how we started skating, about the event, and about the blading community in Madrid. He added me to a Telegram group chat that people use to organize rollerblading routes in the city throughout the week. After this, I loosened up a little and started meeting the other bladers there. Notably, I met helicopter pilot from germany named Zoe who taught me how to powerslide.
Step 4: Go to one of the skating events you saw in the telegram group. I hopped on the Subway, rollerblades in hand, prepared to do a route called “Héroes” run by a certain Jesus (not the old man). I managed to find the meeting spot, introduced myself to a few people, and then we were off. The route started off tame and ended up with some pretty insane hill bombs, skating on Gran Via (the Broadway street of Madrid), and weaving through pedestrians in the tiny walking streets in the city center. It was pretty epic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 5: Meet three dudes: Jander, Dester, and Kevin, who are experienced rollerbladers. Talk with them, beatbox for Jander while he freestyles in spanish, skate a bit more through the streets while trying to keep up (their skates are way better than mine for speed, I was SWEATING trying to keep their pace). Before we parted ways, Jander told me about the Bicicritica (spanish version of Critical Mass) — the aforementioned “party on wheels” that happens once on the last Thursday of every month.
Step 6: Meet up with Jander, Dester, Kevin, and some of their other friends for the Bicicritica and have a blast, meeting tons of other spanish bladers (and a British biker) in the process. The Bicicriti is kind of anti-establishment/communist in nature. There are no group leaders, and there's not a police escort or anything. It's kind of just a big mass of bikers and rollerbladers that take the streets and have a good time, all while promoting sustainable travel. Rollerblading in a huge group, listening to electronic music, seeing the city of Madrid, all while drinking a beer — what more could I ask for?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be honest, I’m pretty proud of myself for how much I’ve gotten integrated into the community so quickly into my trip. Thinking back, this whole week patinando (skating) offered a huge opportunity to overcome that little voice in my head that says I shouldn’t. At multiple points throughout the multi-step process above, I felt quite uncomfortable. Whether that be due to social anxiety or insecurity (in my spanish language or rollerblading skills), I had to continually convince myself that these feelings were okay, and that if only I endured them a little bit longer, things would get better. And they did, and what was on the other side was 100x worth the discomfort I felt getting there.
Also, people are nice. It’s easy to forget that other people have as much empathy as I do, if not more. When given the chance, everyone I met was warm, and I felt very welcome in the community even as an outsider (and an American, which comes with its own stereotypes. I think I dodged these stereotypes by entering interactions with a large dose of cultural humility). The guys that I befriended welcomed me with open arms, and I’m excited to continue to get to know them. One remaining point of contention: It’s easy to make friends with people when the time spent with them surrounds a common activity. But I’m craving deeper relationships, which may not be as easy to form in this context. We’ll see where we go with that.
I’m very excited to keep blading in Madrid throughout the semester. Urban skating in a truly urban environment is an absolute blast. I’m gonna continue pushing through that discomfort throughout the rest of the semester in everything I do, hopefully bringing about new people and opportunities to experience.
Tumblr media
This week, I also registered for classes, got tapas with new American friends, walked around Madrid a TON, went to the Prado museum, got famous churros from la Chocolatería de San Ginés, and partied a bit. Check out the photos and descriptions below for a little bit more on those.
Hasta la próxima semana.

Dude is sitting at a cafe thing and has his longboard sitting there in the sidewalk, looking very available. I just had the thought wouldn’t it be so funny if I ran up and jumped on it and longboarded away. But I’ve never skateboarded in my life and I’m wearing sandals and this takes place on a busy city street. Just one example of how impulse control can save your life :)

INTRODUCING.
michael evans behling | he/him | cis man | Have you met CARSON WILLIAMS yet ? They’re the TWENTY-SEVEN year old HYDROLOGIST that lives around WEST POINT HOMES. I think they’ve lived in Seattle for FOUR YEARS. From what I’ve heard, they’re LAIDBACK but they can also be ANALYSTICAL if you get on their bad side. When I think of them, I usually think of LONESOME DAY BY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN.
HIGHLIGHTS.
27 years old but already a career switcher : formerly a software engineering major at google turned hydrologist at noaa — yeah the world works in interesting ways ; moved into west point homes TWO years ago ; laidback & easy going, quick to smile and always willing to extend a helping hand ; stress-baker bc stress running is bad for his knees.
THE STORY.
— born in fresno. dad is an OR surgeon, mom is a nurse. they had a busy work schedule but they made it work. when carson was about 5 they moved north to portland following an opportunity that allowed both his parents more flexible hours to spend more time with family, and carson. he spend much of his childhood splashing around in the ocean, hanging out on beaches, barely stepping foot inside, not even when it rained.
— but eventually the good weather waned and it wasn’t because of any emotional abandonment that carson found himself drawn to computers, but the family’s busy lifestyle certainly lend itself to carson entertaining himself when possible. that love for the digital only grew as the internet and digital era began its rise, seemingly right in tandem with carson’s own growth.
— it probably wasn’t surprising that carson ended up perusing a software engineering degree when it came time for college. what was surprising was he chose a school on the east coast. for someone who valued family ( and still deeply does ) and was a bit of a home-body it was a surprise, but carson figured it was time to step out of his comfort zone.
— had the usual college experience, graduated on time in 4 years and was lucky enough to land a position with a large firm right out of college. worked remotely, though said firm was headquartered in nyc.
— work however... was not nearly as full-filling or interesting as he would like it to be, even after landing a coveted position at google. he stuck it out for two years, helped along by a lucrative salary before he decided a change was much needed.
— it was visiting a friend back in seattle, seeing the ocean again, remembering there are much greater forces at work here. after some thought, he ended applying for graduate school, ultimately getting his masters in hydrology & hydrodynamics from the university of washington - seattle.
— graduated two years ago from the program, and started working for noaa in their seattle office not long after that!!
PRESENT DAY.
— carson moved into an apartment in west point homes in july 2020 ( 2 years ago ). before that, while he went to UW, he lived in the swindelbrook st apartments. from then it’s was easy to settle right in. the career change has done wonders for him --- it’s still a lot of computer based worked, but more data and modeling focused which he loves. he still dabbles in web design through his free lancing which is constantly growing --- especially with a surprising request from the kraken, the newest nhl team.
— works primarily at noaa’s office, not too far of a commute from his apartment. even so, he appreciates the quiet times in the morning and evenings. sometimes he employs his electric longboard, but most of the time he takes the bus. though occasionally, he does just work from the apartments where he has a pretty slick set up in his bedroom. he also sets up in various nearby cafes too. there are some perfectly fine mondays and fridays that he just can’t be bothered by the commute either lol. change of scenery is important for carson to work efficiently, otherwise he gets bored.
— stress baking was something that he clung onto early in his high school days and much more so when he moved to college. it reminded him of home and his mother’s baking —often with unique nigerian influences. carson is no chef, not like some of his friends, but he isn’t living on pb&j either. it’s not uncommon for carson to look up where a certain nigerian food truck is and hunt it down either.
— hobbies : baking, indoor rock climbing, various gym workouts, running, a bit of freelance web design, longboarding, people watching, karaoke ( not good but spirited )
— hangouts : various different coffeeshops near his aparment ( or near his office building ), nearby gym, a nearby indoor climbing gym, any park
— carson is generally very pleased with where he’s ended up now. it’s still far from having a life plan but steady income, a nice place to live, and a job he enjoys is definitely a good foundation to build more things on.
PERSONALITY.
— + laidback, adaptable, intelligent, helpful ; - analytical, disorganized, forgetful, hyper-focused or aloof ( rarely in between )
— carson is a friendly person whose presence often puts others at ease. he’s always quick to smile, even at those he doesn’t know. has a tendency to think of everyone as a friend until proven he should think otherwise --- or is biased based on his current friends’ opinions.
— definitely not high strung and likes to think he requires very little to be happy. easy-going, relaxed, even when under pressure. occasionally, his easy-going nature can be misconstrued as not caring but that is certainly not true.
— always meets his deadlines, though more often than not, the bulk of his work is cranked out directly before said deadline. good at multi-tasking but his time management could definitely use a little tlc, even still.
— extremely disorganized. not necessarily in a physical sense. his apartment is neat enough, and he doesn’t like feeling like his space is messy --- definitely not a help to an already disorganized mind. carson is incredible disorganized in his thinking and often in his execution. carson needs many things going at once so he can jump from one to another if he needs to. sometimes he can work for hours on one project, other times, it’s something new every 20 minutes. breaks are crucial for times like the latter.
— a helpful personality. doesn’t turn away from people in need and likes feeling needed : hence his willingness to constantly extend a hand to those who need one. seattle is a busy place and sometimes, people fall down. lots of people might walk by but carson will stop, even if he’s running late.
— likes to make friends, but that being said, when he doesn’t like someone he’s very internal about it. he believes in being polite to save face --- which sometimes is great, other times... not so much.
— a hard working himself, he doesn’t like when people don’t try to do their best ( regardless of the outcome ). he especially doesn’t like if someone says they’ll do something and then proceeds to not do it.
— level-headed to a fault. keeps things bottled up sometimes to “save face.” stress-reliever baking to the rescue ahaha.
APPEARANCE.
— 6′2″,  200 lbs, muscular from the result of a highly active lifestyle outside an “office job”
— hair often buzzed into a fade, stubble/scruff more common than not though he never sports an actual beard.
— 20/20 vision but uses blue light glasses while he works. consider this look.
— style : loves a good pattern and his shirts are often patterned or textured. slim fit pants, but not tight. clothes that are easy to move around in. loves all colors. loves all neutrals. definitely wouldn’t consider himself fashionable, but has decent taste.
— tattoos & scars : no tattoos, a large collection of various scars everywhere from an active childhood and an ability to try anything at least once.
— quirks : always moving in some way ( tapping fingers, a jumping knee, a tapping heel or foot ), has a tendency to look deeply focused, a “friendly” face that fits his helpful demeanor, quick to smile, very good at hiding when he’s displeased
— probably goes without saying but the look in all my graphics w the scruff & rainbow jacket is simply The Vibe. see this gifset.
MISC. HEADCANONS.
— certainly a home baker, nothing special or fancy. various cookies, brownies, various cookie bars, the such. everyone loves his brownies and says they’re the best ( irony is carson doesn’t really like brownies ). doesn’t care so much for presentation. not really one to sell his baked goods, though neighbors always know when they might be saddled with the consequences of carson’s stress baking when the fragrant aromas start creeping down the hall. doesn’t like being told what to bake. he accepts suggestions but they might not come to fruition until weeks later. it’s just a good stress reliever for him that isn’t as hard on his knees as running is. kinda wants to dabble in bread making. kneading sounds like it’d be a great stress reliever too.
— a messy baker though. the kitchen looks like a disaster when he’s through with it, but he’s very good with the clean up. it can be just as satisfying too.
— loves dogs but doesn’t want to commit to getting one. his past apartments didn’t allow pets anyway
— naturally an early riser dating back to college. his work schedule is notably flexible so long as he works his 8 hours a day / finishes his tasks. however, carson likes to keep a schedule and finish his work with plenty of hours left in the day to do other things he finds fun. never one to finally get on by 10 am, it’s not uncommon to see carson set up by 7 am for a finish time around 3 or 4, depending on how many breaks he took.
— has mild adhd. mostly manifests in small quirks and stretches of hyperfocus followed by unfocused periods. struggles to explain things in a logical way, though it is something he’s working on and had to work on for work. commenting out his code has helped him to find logic in his thoughts. doesn’t write things down, and was never the type to keep a planner. tries to keep to-do lists bc crossing things off is satisfying but it hasn’t taken quite yet.
— an analytical mind always likes to try to put things into a logical perspective, cause and effect, things like that. that being said, is in touch with his emotional side and rarely turns away from somewhere in need. it’s lead to a few times of him being taken advantage of but the fact hasn’t tinted carson’s life outlook.
— a very fast typist. in part a remnant of his software engineering degree, also in part due to a lifetime of growing up around computers. he had a typist job in high school too, something he kept up through college until he started landing relevant internships. carson can be very picky with his keyboards though, often opting for specialty ones with that make a nice clicky noise and feel solid to type and code with. had to see multiple laptops before he finally settled on one he liked ( a pc, not a mac ).
— lover of late 90s early 00s rock music. what he grew up listening to. it keeps him going during the work day and for most other things too.
— infinite iced lattes made throughout the day with the espresso machine that’s in his apartment.
— multi-sport athlete growing up : soccer, basketball, lax, football, track, hockey...  didn’t play during college, just on various club or intramural teams. though he took his time playing seriously and loved it, he knew he was never going to be good enough to even consider going pro. religiously follows all the major sports in the seattle area and is always happy to go to a game. loves the atmosphere of sports games.
— still active. loves to surf, at the gym on a regular basis, trying new things ( one of which was indoor climbing which he loves now ), running though not too much bc his knees hate him for it. daily routine includes morning workouts/yoga session and evening walks ( no matter the weather ).
— engages a lot and surfs social media a lot, but rarely posts on platforms himself. more likely to post on his stories than actual posts themselves.
OOC.
hello everyone !! i’m o ( 21+, est, they / them ). just happy to be here and vibe <3. i started a list of flexible plot ideas HERE, so be sure to check those out. discord is my preferred contact method so feel free to reach out there if you have any ideas or are feeling inspired !!

the 'alice in wonderland murders old lady' dream wasn't the dream I had last night it was before I started sending you my dreams, this was the dream I had last night.
I was in a playground at night that also double as a skatepark so there were skaters as well as kids, now I myself am no skater, I only longboard (as you know from the incident) but I look over the fact and talk with my peers, and eventually this one girl who was significantly younger than the rest of us gets a hold of my phone and adds everyone's number to it, but changed the names to emojis. like instead of it being Jason it was 🤪🤯😵‍💫🦄 and instead of her name and a dozen other ones it was flower ones, and I kept asking her who was who, but she'd just run away laughing, and eventually I ended up yelling at her like I was her mother and angry, telling her this was rude and not funny, and in the moment of me yelling at her I knew I just lost all of these potential friends, and then I was in a cafe WITH GIRL MICKY YOU. AGAIN. dude, you're just stuck in my psyche lately. but I didn't know you, we weren't friends kinda just strangers or like we were on an awkward first date, and I was thinking about asking you if you listened to the Monkees, but before I did you said "do you listen to the Monkees?" and I was in a Halloween mask so my voice was very muted and I went "oh my god I was just about to ask you that!!" then we started talking about the monkees, then I was alone in some apartment and watching the news, apparently we were being invaded by lines, then next thing I knew I was the last person on earth or something and each night one of the lamposts would die and leave me in darkness till I found another one, because I was looking for hidden alien weapons to kill the aliens with, and they hid in the darkness, and more and more kept going out while I was running to find another one to be in, then I saw two cars drive by, fast, and I ran to them so fast I nearly fell, I was screaming for them to wait and stuff but they didn't stop and I slowed down under a lampost then the light in it went out and I heard one of the aliens do a weird clicky growl and woke up :/
raya i am so honoured to be a reoccurring presence in your dreams, and most especially in the guise of girl micky 💖✌️😔. also us both talking about the monkees/wanting to talk about the monkees is so real. the scary apocalyptic horror end of your dream is terrifying though, would not want to be trapped in darkness with aliens, no thank you 💀

Top 10 Reasons Why Surfing in Goa is a Must-Try!
Tumblr media
Goa is well known as one of the top surfing destinations in all of India. With its beautiful coastline and consistent waves throughout the year, Goa offers surfers a tropical paradise to ride the waves. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced surfer looking for your next challenge, Goa has what you need, offering different types of surfing experience to everyone. Here are the top 10 reasons why surfing in Goa should be at the top of your must-try list.
1. Variety of Surf Spots-The Surfing Safari
Goa has no shortage of beautiful beaches perfect for surfing. Some of the most popular spots include Baga, Calangute, Anjuna, and Arambol in North Goa as well as Palolem, Patnem, and Colva in South Goa. What’s great about Goa is that each beach caters to different experience levels and types of surfing. For example, Baga and Calangute are ideal for beginners learning the basics of gentle waves. Further north, Arambol offers steeper waves suitable for more advanced surfers. This variety means there’s a surf spot for everyone in Goa no matter your skill level.
2. Year-Round Surfing in Goa
While some surf destinations only offer prime conditions for part of the year, Goa’s tropical climate and location along the Arabian Sea deliver surf all year long. The summer monsoon season from June to September brings larger swells perfect for experienced riders. During the winter from November to February, the waves are a bit smaller but still very rideable. No matter when you visit, you’re almost guaranteed to find surfing in Goa. This consistency makes it a great place to learn and improve your skills without having to worry about the season.
3. Learn from the Best Surfing Schools in Goa
For beginners looking for instruction, Goa has some top-notch surf schools to get you up and riding. Popular schools in Goa offer multi-day learn-to-surf packages that include lessons, equipment rental, surfing equipment and camp-style accommodations right on the beach. Companies like Universal Adventures also provide surfing lessons for INR 1000/-.The instructors are very experienced and patient, making it easy to pick up the basics like popping up, catching your first wave, and riding straight. Within a few days, you’ll be confidently surfing the gentle waves.
4. Various Types of Surfing
While stand-up surfing on fibreglass boards is most common, Goa also caters to other types of surfing. Kite surfing in Goa is hugely popular, especially along the beaches of South Goa like Palolem and Patnem where consistent offshore winds create ideal conditions. Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) has also grown in popularity as a low-impact full-body workout. Rent a SUP board and paddle out to catch waves or simply cruise along the coastline taking in the scenery. For thrill-seekers, wave sailing on specialised sailboards provides an adrenaline rush. Goa truly has options for all types of surfing.
5. Budget-Friendly Surfing Equipment Rentals
While it’s best to bring your own board if you surf regularly, Goa makes it very affordable to rent quality surf gear. Popular surf shops like Surya in Baga and Goa Surf Club rent fibreglass longboards and shortboards starting at just Rs. 500–800 per day. This includes the board, leash, and wax to get you in the water. Equipment and SUP rentals are also reasonable starting around Rs. 1500–2000 per day including all necessary equipment. Renting takes the hassle and expense out of transporting your own gear internationally. It also lets beginners try different boards to find their ideal fit before investing in equipment of their own.
6. Vibrant Surf Culture
Beyond just the waves, Goa has a truly unique surf culture. Hippies first discovered Goa’s surf breaks in the 1960s, and to this day the laid-back beach town vibe remains. Cafes along the sands play reggae tunes as surfers share tips over Kingfishers in between sessions. Annual surfing competitions like the Goa River Rush bring the community together. Low-key fire shows on full moon nights add to the festival atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself in beach life or simply relax after a day of surfing, Goa’s culture is part of what makes the experience so special.
7. Plenty of Accommodation Options
With its popularity as a tourist destination, Goa offers every type of accommodation imaginable near the surf breaks — from beach shacks to luxury resorts. Companies like Universal Adventures also provide packages for budget travellers who can find simple rooms starting around Rs. 1000–1500 per night right on popular beaches like Baga, Calangute, and Palolem. For a more comfortable experience, guesthouses and hotels offer private rooms and apartments with amenities from Rs. 2000–5000 per night. For those looking to learn surfing over multiple days, there may be a surf school Goa for them on the site. With so many options, you’re sure to find lodging to suit your budget and group size.
8. Delicious, Affordable Goan cuisine
Fueling up after a day in the water is part of the surfing experience, and Goa’s coastal cuisine certainly doesn’t disappoint. For a sit-down meal, restaurants serve flavorful Goa classics like vindaloo, xacuti and sorpotel along with North Indian and international dishes. Best of all, large portions and beach views come at very reasonable prices. The fresh, affordable local fare is another highlight of surfing in Goa.
9. Plenty of Post-Surf Activities
On days when the surf isn’t ideal or you need a break from the water, Goa offers plenty of other activities. Explore nearby markets, temples and forts to experience local culture. Relaxing massage treatments are very reasonably priced. Yoga, meditation and ayurvedic treatments are also popular ways to unwind. For nightlife, beach parties, live music shows and casino cruises keep the vibes going after dark. You can also arrange day trips to explore nearby spice plantations, waterfalls and wildlife spots. With so much to do, surfing in Goa never feels like the only option.
10. Welcoming, Easy-Going People
Last but not least, the Goa people themselves add to why this surfing destination is so special. With a blend of Portuguese and Indian influences, Goans exhibit a uniquely warm, welcoming culture. Locals are very friendly and happy to offer surf tips or suggestions on where to enjoy the best food. The easy-going, laidback attitude makes it easy to immerse yourself, meet other travellers and locals, and truly unwind. Whether you’re a solo traveller or a group of friends, you’ll feel right at home in Goa — both in and out of the water.

Digital Marketing Paid Search with Google AdWords
Tumblr media
In the ever-evolving digital landscape, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to connect with their target audience, drive traffic, and boost sales. Enter Google AdWords, a powerful tool in the realm of digital marketing that has the potential to catapult the sales of diverse products like yoga mats, surfboards, and coffee. In this article, we'll explore how paid search campaigns with Google AdWords can be your ticket to clicks, conversions, and soaring profits in these unique niches.
Understanding the Power of Google AdWords
Google AdWords, now rebranded as Google Ads, is an online advertising platform that allows businesses to display ads on Google's vast network, reaching potential customers precisely when they are searching for products or services related to your business. This targeted approach is the key to success, especially when marketing products as diverse as yoga mats, surfboards, and coffee.
Yoga Mats: Finding Zen in the Digital World
Yoga enthusiasts are a passionate group, always on the lookout for high-quality yoga mats to enhance their practice. Google AdWords enables you to position your yoga mat brand in front of these eager consumers. By bidding on relevant keywords like "premium yoga mats" or "eco-friendly yoga accessories," your ads can appear at the top of Google search results, attracting potential buyers actively seeking such products.
The visual appeal of your ads, combined with persuasive ad copy and extensions, can drive clicks that lead to conversions. Additionally, Google Ads provides valuable insights into user behavior, helping you refine your campaign and maximize ROI. With the right strategy, Google AdWords can make your yoga mats the top choice for yoga enthusiasts worldwide.
Surfboards: Riding the Wave of Opportunity
Surfing, with its dedicated following, offers a unique opportunity for surfboard manufacturers and retailers. Google AdWords can help you ride the digital wave by targeting surfers actively searching for boards, accessories, or surf destinations. Utilize specific keywords like "shortboard for big waves" or "longboard for beginners," and position your surfboards in front of an audience hungry for the ultimate ride.
Geo-targeting options can also be beneficial. For instance, if your surfboards are perfect for the warm waters of Hawaii, you can focus your ad spend on that region. Furthermore, Google AdWords' responsive search ads adapt to various screen sizes, ensuring your message reaches surfers on mobile devices and desktops alike.
Coffee: Brewing Success, One Click at a Time
In the world of coffee, competition is steep, but the aroma of freshly brewed success is tantalizing. Google AdWords can help coffee roasters, cafes, and online coffee retailers reach coffee aficionados actively seeking their next caffeine fix. Bid on keywords like "artisanal coffee beans" or "best espresso machines," and watch your coffee-related products and services gain prominence in search results.
Google Ads also offers ad extensions for location-specific businesses, making it easier for local cafes to attract nearby customers. In addition, the platform's AI-driven bidding strategies optimize your ad campaigns for conversions, ensuring that each click is more likely to result in a sale.
Conclusion
Digital marketing, especially through Google AdWords, has the power to revolutionize the sales of products as diverse as yoga mats, surfboards, and coffee. By leveraging targeted keyword strategies, compelling ad copy, and data-driven insights, businesses can connect with their niche audiences, drive clicks, and ultimately boost conversions.
To succeed in the digital realm, it's crucial to stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in Google Ads. Regularly monitor your campaigns, analyze performance metrics, and adapt your strategies to stay ahead of the competition. With dedication and a well-thought-out approach, your business can ride the digital marketing wave to new heights, all thanks to Google AdWords.

hey. i haven’t been able to write in a hot minute, i can explain.
i don’t think i ever mentioned this on here, but around the start of the year i was diagnosed with a chronic blood condition after a big cancer scare. i’m grateful i don’t have cancer, but it’s pretty big news getting told the shit that i was told. it fucked me up for a long while, but after accepting how fucking rigged it was that a seventeen year old boy had the same chance of having a stroke as a fifty year old, or that my migraines could turn into brain hemorrhages, i think you can imagine why i wasn’t really okay.
i got really low. i wasn’t able to do anything alone due to my parents coddling, and instead of being able to longboard the 2km to the bus stop to get to and from work everyday, i wasn’t allowed to touch my board anymore. i still haven’t touched my board, it’s in the storage compartment under my bed. i miss riding it.
despite that, and the fear of that shit happening, the condition has no symptoms that are like, visible. by that i mean there’s no symptoms i can feel, and there’s none anyone can see. which makes it feel like i’m lying when i say i have a chronic condition.
not that i say that to anyone, but i’ll explain why i have to in a minute.
see, there is one side effect of this condition. and it’s fatigue. i thought i was just overworking myself to be able to afford rent, with thirty hours of work, fifteen hours of class and an additional fifteen hours of study at home. i thought it must’ve been that i was tired from packing and moving, because i didn’t get much sleep that week. i thought it might be that i was tired because i wasn’t eating, but even that shouldn’t be this bad.
see, these past three weeks i’ve been able to afford food and rent without overworking myself, but there’s still that fucking tiredness. other than work - which i physically have to drag myself out of bed after waking up in the afternoon to do a cafe close - i’ve been unable to attend my classes because i just can’t stop sleeping. i’ll fall asleep on the fifteen minute train ride to work and back home. i’ll fall asleep in class and stay there until the end of the day. i’ll go to bed right after i get home from class. i literally live on the campus. i wake up, spend ten minutes getting to my apartment and then immediately sleep again.
and here’s the kicker - i have depression induced insomnia, and it’s been really bad since just before i moved due to the stress. so can you imagine being super fucking tired, so tired that i can’t focus, but laying awake in bed until four in the morning because my body won’t shut down and sleep? but then being so tired during the day that i can’t even make it through an hour long shopping trip with my sister without needing to sit down on a chair and close my eyes in the middle of a bookstore ?
i’m eighteen years old. i should be able to handle more than this, and yet instead of going out partying or hanging out with friends and meeting new people, i’m fucking sleeping ? that’s so infuriating.
so anyway, like i said this means i’ve missed a lot of my classes. i was sent an email regarding my well-being and about the sheer lack of study i’ve done. i touched on it in a reply, but i’m going to have to drag my ass out of bed tomorrow at whatever time my body decides and give these guys the low down about my chronic shit. but since this is such a new diagnosis, it doesn’t feel truthful saying i have a chronic illness. especially because it’s not something you can see, i feel like they’re going to tell me that i’m faking it and i’m going to get kicked out of my course.
i really need to stay in this course until next year, even if i don’t pass. i just need to stay in it until i can get a full time job and afford a place to live when my lease expires next july. i hate the workload, it’s bullshit and it’s difficult and everyone somehow knows what to do. i don’t know how to study so the whole thing is scary and daunting and i don’t know how to do just enough where i can skim by the bones of my ass till next year. i need this place to live, man. i don’t have anywhere else, and i’ve only just turned eighteen so my rental history starts here. im going to be looking for better paying jobs, maybe once i have one of those for a while i can apply for some apartments. but for now i need this one.
i don’t know. im stressed and i feel like crying but nothing comes out anymore. im just stuck staring at the roof and hoping i can get a hold of myself.
sorry for the long one, it’s a doozy.
