Any time a man asks me who my favourite f1 driver is they always assume it’s Charles Leclerc(I think this happens to most girls). But despite who my favourite driver is, I will always say Lella Lombardi.
The 1975 Spanish Grand Prix is known for the tragic event in which Rolf Stommelen's car crashed and landed in the spectator area, killing four people. The drivers had protested for the poor safety of the circuit and the conditions of the barriers, but the race wasn't cancelled. The tragedy of the situation obscures a small victory: Lella Lombardi, in her March-Ford, finished 6th after starting 24th on the grid, gaining only half a point since the race was interrupted halfway, four laps after the accident.
