I finally got out over to Club Ed, shooting location for a great number of films and music videos. Most importantly to me anyway is that this is one of the locations used in R.E.M.’s Man On The Moon music video from 1992. The Man On The Moon video was one of the key pieces of media that made me interested in desert aesthetics in the first place and to finally getting to see the location was a great thing. I have included the coordinates so you can just click on it and you will have the directions to go to Club Ed.
Pickles and Rico from Dogerachi Rescue Group in Lancaster, California

Pickles and Rico are both younger cats, brought in at separate times, but bonded through foster care.
Pickles was found in a backyard after a heavy rain, drenched and infected with a URI. She has blossomed into a beautiful young lady, fearless, affectionate and playful. She gets along with all of the other animals (small dogs, cats, rabbit) and has the sweetest meow you'll ever hear. She will be spayed on January 10th and is fully vaccinated.
Rico was found on farmland in Leona Valley, and was clearly someone's house cat at one point. After weeks of searching for his family, this sweet boy was never claimed. He's taken a liking to Pickles and they spend most of their time together, playing, eating, and sleeping. They love hanging out with their rabbit friend in the cat room (the rabbit's preferred habitat) and wrestling and grooming each other. Rico doesn't meow, he chirps, and loves the cold (he likes to climb into the fridge if you leave the door open!) and cuddles.
Both cats are extremely affectionate and easy going. All of our cats are tested with children and these two have done extremely well with kids who are gentle and quiet, and give them space. We have yet to get a picture of them together, as they're always wrestling and playing and hard to photograph, but as you can see in the video, they very much love each other.
Pickles is currently taking antibiotics and will need a little more time before being cleared for adoption, but we're taking applications and doing meet and greets now!
All Dogerachi cats are tested upon intake for FeLV and parasites, and treated fully for any medical issues. Any medical problems will be disclosed in these listings.
These two cats have my heart and I'm going to miss them so much! I want to see them go to a beautiful home and have their happily ever after. Will that be you?

Snowcapped Peaks Near Llano, Green in the Antelope Valley Today
Apr. 25, 2023
I wish I could post some crazy superbloom photos, but I just have snowcapped peaks, a curving trail (there were many), and a few little wildflowers off the side of the road. Maybe I’ll get another chance to go out to the Antelope Valley while the poppies are still in full bloom, or maybe I’ll just post our mountain poppies when they start up here. Ours are always later because we still have freezes into late May.
The environment out in the desert was vibrant and green today. There was a lake off the side of the 14 in Lancaster and green grass and plants everywhere. Just east of the place I snapped a photo of the snowy mountains, a wash that is normally dry was running with water under the highway. The desert hardly looked like a desert at all with the abundant rain we have received this season.
