Seeing the talk about shipping names always brings me right back to fanfiction and how sexualized the whole expirience was for me. Like i got on ff when i was like 13-14 n i think i left when i was 17-18ish n kinda migrated to ao3. Like as a young teen just discovering sex amd sexuality that place was a dump. I remember sex coming up in every fanfiction (something i still encounter today and have A GRUDGE for, tl: you shpuld settle your arguments with talking not sex oh my god) n i remember writing sex into my fanfiction cuz i was under heavy impression thats how its supposed to go. 'Write something super angsty and edgy and then add a sex scene'.

Fuckin suprise im asexual actually which is why i viewd sex more as an ingridient than like...something thats supposed to be emotional lmao.

But ye shipping names always seemed to be a part of that n its honestly so dumb and outdated. Like if you have a headcanon for someones prefrence in bed fucking great for you but uhhh thats not personality n that doesnt really matter if you are writing anything that isnt porn. Newsflash 99% of the time what position a character likes to fuck in is 100% irrelevant. N its even stupider when people get rabid about their headcanons n start claiming they are right even tho the character sexual prefrences arent and will probs never be canon. Like i heard a person say that they said they headcanoned for tamaki to be a switch n someone got all rabid on them that tamaki is OBVIOUSLY a bottom. Like chill out who the fuck cares and really by saying it like that you just come off as stereotyping and fetishizing gay men by saying that a shy meek one has to be the bottom. Like personality has NOTHING to do with sexual prefrences and the way you present yourself in every day life can be very different from the way you present yourself in the bedroom.

Either way stop obessing over peoples sex lives its creepy

Remember when it used to be called lemons and that’s how you knew there would be sex in the story XD (”Beware lemons in the story!!!” and all that jazz)

But yeah, the position and personality based on the way you wrote the ship name was so stupid (surely with them being the same characters, personality would stay the goddamn same) and honestly it’s because of this that I have preference for certain characters because I’ve just been too burned in the past by having them change if they were any other way (looking at you, old drrr fandom and all the Izuo fics that turned Shizuo into a blushing, “girly” person :/).

As you said, personality should have nothing to do with what they like to be in bed and as shonen characters, that will never, ever be confirmed anyway because they weren’t exactly created with sex in mind so I don’t know why so many peoples pants get into a twist over them.

People need to chill and stop fetishizing gay relationships :/
