His blood runs hot, his face is on fire, and his ears feel hot, and he brings his fingertips up to them to cover them shyly, his lips parted and stuck open.

It’s not real! It’s not! He squeezes his eyes tight until he feels calloused fingers gently take his hands, lowering them from his burning ears. Killua opens his eyes slowly, only to find Gon on the floor, kneeling, beaming.

“I solemnly vow to protect you!”

Killua grows more flustered, shaking his head.

Killua squeaks, and Gon’s act almost falls apart with how cute it is, quickly bumbling his way through. Just to seal the deal…
