I’m still thinking about the strangulation piece. Sorry that I’m no thoughts head bad timeline. This is mostly dialogue tbh, purely self indulgent

“You could have killed me.” Wren said simply. He’d been thinking about it even days later, how dangerous what Nicholas had done really was.
“No I couldn’t have. I’m not as careless as you might think, I wouldn’t have done it if I thought it would cost you your life.” Nicholas said with a dismissive tone. He had Wren in his lap, his arms holding him right around the waist. The boy’s throat was still sore and bruised, rope mark still left behind. Nicholas had yet to stop admiring his work.
“But what if you did? What would you have done if I had died?” He asked, trying to twist around to face him.
“I don’t have intentions to bury any of my pets, you don’t need to worry about that.” Nicholas told him.
“What if I killed myself?” He asked, getting more and more irritated. Nicholas seemed to be feeling the same way as he roughly twisted him back around, holding him tighter to he couldn’t move.
“If you talk like that I might start to get worried, Love. I’d have to keep a close eye on you, and keep you restrained to avoid such an unfortunate incident.” He said it as if he cared, but they both knew it was a threat.
“Why won’t you answer me? I just want to know what you would’ve done if I had died.” He said, not ready to give up on this, and Nicholas sighed. His hand slid up his chest, coming to loosely wrap around his throat, the feeling instantly causing him to freeze up.
“Fine, since you’re so insistent. If you had died, or if something happens before I’m done with you, I would give you a proper burial.” He told him. “You would have a headstone with your name inscribed on it, and I’d leave flowers for you every once in a while- since you’re so worried about it maybe you should tell me now what flowers you’d prefer.” He said, and though Wren couldn’t see his face he knew he was smirking. “I already know where to bury you, but I’d really rather not have to. So don’t do anything stupid.” He said bluntly.
“So even if I died you wouldn’t have the decency to let my family know…?” He asked, and Nicholas laughed.
“What family?” He asked, and Wren didn’t expect how much those words would hurt.
“I have a family.” He snapped, finally shoving his hand away, turning so he could fully face him now. He may have still been on his lap, Nicholas wouldn’t allow him to just get up, but at least he could see his stupid face now.
“Really? I thought I already told you, I dug up a lot on you when I was trying to bring you home.” He said, reaching up to brush Wren’s hair from his face, the boy flinching away.
“Yeah? And what the fuck would you know about my family?” He snapped. “Because if you knew anything, then you’d-“
“I know that your mother, Karen Brax, died the same year you turned eighteen. I know your name wasn’t always Elias- not that what it was before matters. I know you had a brother, Everett Brax, and I knew about him before I ever knew about you. It also appears you don’t have any relationship with your father or your half siblings. I know you lived alone, you had no partner, and if you’re calling that mutt and his mothers, Valerie and Georgia, your family, then that’s just adorable.” Each word just served to make him more and more angry, more and more scared, his eyes going wide.
“How the fuck-“
“Why would I tell you?” He interrupted. “You’re asking far too many questions, pet. I guess to answer your previous question though, no, I wouldn’t go out of my way to let that mutt, or anyone related to him for that matter, know that you were gone. If anything I love the idea of him living the rest of his miserable life not knowing what happened to you, I hope that guilt would be enough to fucking kill him.” He said, bitterness towards Zander evident in his voice. “You’re mine, Love, until I finally give you away, you belong to me, and if you die here, then you’ll die mine. You might as well forget about your “family”,” He said, grabbing Wren by the chin and forcing him to meet his eye, “Because you will never see them again.”
“I fucking hate you.” He hissed through his teeth. He wanted to hit him, to get his hands around Nicholas’ throat, get his revenge even in some small way but anything short of killing him would result in punishment his body just couldn’t take right now. Nicholas kissed his forehead before releasing his chin, pulling him into a tight, restrictive hug.
“And I still love you all the same.” He told him. He sounded like he was having fun with this, amused by Wren’s anger. He always seemed to find his anger funny, as though it were cute. It just made him more upset.
He wasn’t going to die here. Not just because he didn’t want to die at all, but if he had to die as a pet, he hoped it would be under a different owner, someone with the decency to tell his family, the way his brother’s owner had done for him. Lord knew he hated that man, but that was always the one thing he could appreciate. He wouldn’t let Nicholas be the end of him though, even if only to save Zander from going through that grief all over again.

if you could only read three books/series for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?
Ok I'm not gonna choose any books because they finish and I don't want that. So I'm gonna choose the whumpblr series I really love.
1. @ashintheairlikesnow 's whole boxboy series including Chris, Kauri, Antoni, Karen's boys, and everyone else. Because my connection with these characters is so strong that I basically can't do without them.
2. @slaintetowhump 's Demetri and Rossi series because both of the are delightful and Rossi is my fave ever bastard. I can literally never shut up about my love for him ok?
3. @spookyboywhump and @ihaventwritteninsolong 's story because I love all the characters there. Zander is my man and Wren and Cathal are baby and Clement is the most gorgeous bastard and Puppy Cain is delightful and Nicholas is awful. Just, perfection right there. I can read it forever.

Witchlands characters + working retail
Safi- The employee who is still an employee only because the owner (Evrane) and the manager (Merik) like her so much. She got a special sign in the break room that says “x days since a Safi v Karen final Agni Kai.” If Safi can go a whole week without a customer complaint she gets to commit an extra crime on her free time as a treat.
Merik- He is the manager who never deals with anything unless a customer threatens or insults his underlings. Then Merik will lose his shit on the customer because no one treats his people like that. The tounge lashing he gave a customer who called Safi ugly is retail legend.
Iseult- Cried after getting screamed at by a group of customers for not having the right size of a shoe on a bad day. Normally she’s able to deal with it but it was a bad day. (Iseult got extra cuddle time and homemade cinnamon buns with Aeduan afterwards). She is the best employee along with Ryber and Vaness.
Aeduan- Got fired for punching the customers that made Iseult cry. Aeduan absolutely hit them with the shoes they were mad about. He does not regret it (having an excuse to cuddle Iseult afterwards may or may not play a factor in his lack of regret).
Vivia- Nasty customers get to her sometimes but she always feel better after Stix shamed them into apologizing. Vivia encourages the shenanigans of her coworkers (Safi and Lev) because she likes to watch Merik lose his mind.
Stix- She gets great enjoyment out of shaming nasty customers into apologizing. Stix will have genuine conversations with customers who over share. She also runs bets on shenanigans her coworkers get into.
Leopold- He works the fitting rooms because he “wants to help those who can’t tell royal blue from colbalt” pick the best outfits. Leopold gives full on make overs if he thinks someone has a bad enough fashion sense (he tries to do it to his coworkers all the time).
Ryber- She makes people feel bad for getting angry at her for whatever pissed them off. Ryber is very good at calming people down and listening to their complaints without losing her mind. That’s why Ryber has the title of “Karen Calmer.” It’s also why she got promoted to manager to do Merik’s job help Merik with his job.
Kullen- Even the worst of Karens feel too bad to yell at the human version of a golden retriever. If Ryber isn’t there Merik sends Kullen to deal with the jerk customers.
Vaness- Customers are too afraid of her to be nasty. Which is a good thing considering Vaness has no patience for assholes or morons (or the customers who are both).
Caden- “Please stop talking about your life. I am your cashier and I do not care. That’ll be $345 for 50 pillows. The fuck are you buying so many pillows for? You know what don’t answer that. I still do not care. Follow the instructions on the pin pad and please leave.”
Lev- Like Vaness she scares customers. It probably has something to do with the huge “Do it. I dare you Karen” pin she has on her shirt. Her shit eating grin might play a part too.
Zander- The employee that never talks unless he’s encouraging his coworkers to fight the Karens. Zander keeps track of all the fights so he can update the lists in the break room. Probably the most liked employee by customers after Kullen.
