Ito nga pala ang paborito kong kantahin sa Videoke. Simula noong bata ako, naririnig ko na ang kantang ito. Kinakanta ito ng mga Ate ko, ni Mama, at ng mga Tita kong kikay na kung hindi single ay may shota namang taga ibang bansa. 1-4-4-5 pa ang numero nito sa Videoke, tandang-tanda ko pa na kapag may umaagaw sa akin ng kantang ito ay iiyakan ko. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit ba gustong-gusto ko ang kanta na ito, marahil kasi maganda ang beat? Hindi ko talaga alam. Pero, ang sure ako ay hindi ko ito nagustuhan sa lyrics dahil hindi ko pa naman naramdaman iyan. Ano ba ang Kaba sa Pag-ibig? Ang tanging kaba lamang na nararamdaman ko dati ay kapag nahuhuli ako ni Mommy na tumatakbo sa initan o ang hindi ko pagpasok para makanood ng Kalyeserye >__<
Ngayon, tuwing lumalabas ang unang lyrics na “Di ko malaman ang nadarama sa tuwing ika’y aking nakikita. May kung ano sa damdamin at abot-abot ang kaba” ay napapangiti agad ako, ang cheesy ng lyrics no? Nakakainis! Pero nakakaramdam ako ng something na parang ang sarap-sarap magmahal o mag-admire ng isang tao kahit sa malayuan lang at magkakaroon kayo ng konting interaction kagaya ng saglitang tingin sa mata o sa simpleng pag-react ng post sa Facebook. May isang liriko pa akong gusto, iyon ay ang “Paano mo kaya ako mapapansin? Malaman mo kaya ang aking damdamin? Ano ang dapat sabihin ng puso kong may pagtingin?” Hmm, ano pa nga ba ang gagawin?
Ah, so ganito pala ang Kaba sa Pag-Ibig. Mabilis na pagtibok ng puso hindi dahil tumakbo ka sa initan, kundi dahil hindi natin alam ang magagawa natin kapag nandiyan na sila. Aamin ba o hindi? Iiwas o Titingin? Napagtanto ko na ang Pag-Ibig ay parang isang roller coaster ride, puno ng kaba at excitement, pero minsan nakakatakot ding sumakay. Dala ka ng damdamin na hindi mo kayang pigilin, at ang lahat ay nasa kamay ng pagpapasiya. Minsan, masarap mangarap ngunit may takot din sa mga hindi kilalang landas.
Alam mo may isa pa akong gusto na kanta niya, alam mo ba ang title? Madali lang, “Mahal Ka Sa Akin” Gusto mo rin ba mga kanta ni Tootsie Gueverra? Ako rin, Ich mag dich.

KAIN SURPRISE!
Legit Dabarkads ako since 2003. Dun talaga ko naging solid fan kasi graduate na ko noon kaya nakakapanood ako araw araw. Ang dami kong napulot na aral, kaalaman at kalokohan. Mga segment na tumatak sa akin gaya ng TKO, SAKMO, SUFFER SIREYNA, ONE 4 ALL, BULAGAAN at syempre KALYESERYE.
Namarites ko rin sa simula palang ang isyu ng tanggalin. Na need na alisin ang TVJ at ibang host kasi nalulugi na ang TAPE. Sure na mahal ang bayad sa kanila at umabot pa sa point na nagkautang sila kay Bossing at Joey. Sinabi naman ng management na di nila tatanggalin ang tatlo kundi babawasan lang ang araw ng pasok.
Bago pa sila nagpaalam thru fb live na magreresigned ay binalita na ng may plan silang magpaalam on live TV. Kaya nagdecide ang TAPE na replay ang ipalabas ng araw na yun.
Malalim ang naging part sa akin ng EB lalo na sa humor at entertainment. Pero masasabi ko na need nilang mas mag improved pa at mag adapt sa panahon ngayon. Nakakasabay naman sila when it comes sa digital platform. Pero para sa akin ay masyado na silang outdated sa humor at patawa. Halos kabisado ko na nga yung jokes at skits ng TVJ. Inaamin ko rin na henyo si joey pero madalas korni na jokes nya at kaya lang tumatawa yung mga kasama niya ay based na lang sa respeto. Madalas din na puro mga songs ng VST ang kinakanta. Kundi naman ay yung mga lumang lumang kanta. Ok lang naman yun pero wag naman sana palagi. Ang daming mga new songs at magagaling ma singers at artist ngayon na gusto rin sanang makita ng tao na magperform sa show nila. Hindi na rin ako madalas nakakanood pero iba pa rin yung kahit di mo napapansin basta alam mong nanjan lang.
Laking impact ng pag alis nila at nabago talaga ang noontime viewing. Kaya lang naman sila naglakas ng loob na iwanan ang Bulaga ay kasi alam nila na nanjan ang TV5 at si MVP. Pwede naman silang lumipat sa GTV pero tyak na noon pa man ay may mataas na offer na si MVP sa kanila. Sana nga mabawi pa nila yung title nung show nila kasi kung hindi ay di na sila makakasama sa 44th year anniversary ng eat bulaga na nasa GMA7. Kasama nung title ay makukuha din ba nila yung rights sa segments like BAWAL JUDGMENTAL at PINOY HENYO?
Natatandaan ko pa nung bata bata pa ko na di na mawawala ang eat bulaga kasi sinasabi ko na its not just a show, its a way of life. Parte na ng buhay at kultura ng pinoy. Di lang natin inaasahan pero ang lahat talaga ay may katapusan. End of an era kumbaga.
Gayunpaman, ok na rin kasi nakabalik na sila sa TV at may bagong tahanan. Goodluck mga dabarkads. Kung di man nila makuha ang rights sa title na EAT BULAGA, pwede naman nilang pangalanan ang show nila na EAT EAT EAT BULAGA.

Just some random thoughts
I've read up some of my older post about "AlDub", a loveteam that I previously followed. It was back inm 2015, before I became an ARMY.
I cringed a bit, but those were my thoughts back in 2015 and nostalgia just hits me.
Back when I was really a fan, I watched "KalyeSerye" everyday, I went to Alden's album launching, I followed them on Twitter and tried to read updates on them and all the KalyeSerye characters everyday. I even started a blog about them, (not that it has a lot of entries, because I am so lazy kekeke)
I realize how fast the time changes. To be honest, back in the day, I was so into the idea of KalyeSerye, despite how shallow it may seem to others, how "non-sense" it may be, back then, it was an inspiration to me, it was a safe haven. Times when I have given up on love, it made me believe in forever once again. That there is still a chance and I might stumble with "The One" one day.
Fast forward, 8 years later, I am still single, no boyfriend since birth, still the old me, older but none the wiser. The only difference is, I came to a point where I stopped thinking about love, just contented with being myself, to be honest, I am already sold to the idea of growing old alone, what an old maid mentality.
It's just that, I think romance is not for everybody. Don't get me wrong, I am not bitter about people finding love, I am genuinely happy for them, but as for me, I stopped imagining myself being with somebody someday. He may or may not came, probably not in this lifetime. But I would like to be at peace that even with myself, I have God by my side.
I am not closing my doors, but I am not actively looking either. I am at the age wherein, I don't want something that is temporary, I want something that last. Not looking for a Knight in shining armor anymore, I am not a damsel in distress. I am just someone who is lonely and wanted someone to listen patiently to my rants and my randomness. But, if there isn't one, then I will be fine.

Moving On
I know so much has been written about jeepneys as metaphor of life and this is another poor attempt from me.
It is such a luxury to slump my body on a jeepney and just trust the driver to dump me to where I am headed (especially if vagina is bleeding). I looked hideous this day that's why I was hesitant to continue the small talk initiated by my old classmate in hs. I remembered talking to him and my other classmate inside a jeepney three years ago. That was my first day of work. I was younger, hopeful, shy, and naive. I didn't even stay in the faculty office the first week because I feel like I didn't deserve to be in there. I just stayed inside a vacant classroom watching "Kalyeserye" in my Cherry Mobile bar phone with TV. Just imagine how time flies so fast. That was three years ago and my students are also teachers now and the person who knew this little embarrassing secret of mine was gone now. Life goes on and it doesn't wait on anybody, and I find myself riding on a jeepney still hopeful for the school year ahead.

A woman who didn't let her self be deceived by comfort zone: an autobiography part I

PART I: THE QUEEN HAVE JUST ARRIVED
Actress, model, comedian, host, writer, singer and the Queen of Dubsmash. A phenomenal star. A woman who showed the world that impossible is nothing but just a word.
Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza. Widely known as Maine Mendoza and for her role as Yaya Dub in Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye.
PART II: QUEEN'S FOUNDATION
Meng had a wonderful childhood, thanks to her Family. She is very close to her supportive Family. Meng considers her Sisters as her best friends and her Father as her biggest fan and supporter. She has four siblings, two men and two women. Just like Maine's name that starts with "Nico", the name of all of her siblings also starts with "Nico".
Since Menggay was young, they have a cousin of her dad who has been living with them named Pepe. Maine greatly cherishes Pepe since she was the one who's taking care of Meng and her siblings along with her Parents.
She finished her high school at St. Paul College of Bocaue in Bulacan. Meng was a pretty quiet and introverted student who dreamed of being a Flight Attendant. When she was in High School she was bullied because she was an introverted person, but her friends helped her cope up. She completed a bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant and institution management with a major in culinary arts at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. She had her internship at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, New York. Being an actress and being able to act on screens was Maine's secret ultimate dream. She never told any of her friends or anyone about her dream of being an actress because she doesn't want to be laughed off, and in her perspective that time is that being an actress is too impossible for her to achieve because she doesn't have any idea nor talent in acting.
PART III: BOW DOWN TO THE QUEEN
When the application "Dubsmash" was introduced to the world, the shy, quite and introvert Maine disappeared. She decided to leave her comfort zone when she was a student and started using the Dubsmash application. Due to Maine's undeniably great performances in Dubsmash, people started to call her the "Queen of Dubsmash". In the early part of 2015, Mendoza posted a Dubsmash compilation on Facebook, in which she impersonated another famous Filipina personality Kris Aquino that went viral with one million views overnight.
She was casted as Yaya Dub in a noontime television show in the Philippines called Eat Bulaga. Yaya Dub's rose to fame when her undeniably chemistry with her co host Alden Richards was seen by the viewers. After one episode of Eat Bulaga showcasing their chemistry, the love team "AlDub" has commenced. Their pairing resulted to their wide exposure and to the further increase of the TV ratings of Eat Bulaga.
Some famous Filipino slangs and actions were created because of the love team of Yaya Dub and Alden Richards such as, the "Pabebe Wave", "Aldub You" and "Ma-alden Kita."
Maine is also considered as a fastest rising actress in the showbiz business. After the Kalyeserye series in Eat Bulaga, Maine successfully showed that she is more than a comedian. In the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival, She was honored as the Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anna Carillo in the Film "My bebe love: #Kiligpamore" which she co starred with Alden Richards and the Famous Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai De las alas.
After that Maine took part in a lot of Film projects such as "God gave me you", "Imagine you and Me" and "Destined to be yours".
Maine became a fixed member of Eat Bulaga. She is able to travel to different countries with her co hosts to shoot some episodes and have a memorable time with them. Some of Maine's Films were taken in different countries. Such as some of the scenes of "Imagine you and Me", It was shot in Como, Italy.
Maine's rise to fame didn't affect her personality. She is still the down to earth Menggay that her Family treasures.

AlDub - 4 years later
I am not sure why I'm writing about them 4 and a half years later since they were shown on TV. If you'd ask a Filipino if they know them, most probably they would say yes - I don't think everyone's a fan but I'm pretty sure almost everyone knows them because once, they were on top (they still might be, if they were still active as a love team, but we'll never know now).
Last Saturday, I was trying to fold my clothes - well, this is a weekly thing. Usually, I play songs while doing this. But this week, I decided to play a movie. At first, I wanted to play a Koreanovela since I'm behind my episodes already but I don't have the luxury to focus on the subtitles while folding so I decided to choose a Filipino Movie instead. While browsing Netflix, I came across Imagine You and Me - AlDub's first movie together as the main characters. This sent me to a trip down memory lane and that night, when I was about to sleep (I wasn't able to sleep though!!!), I found myself watching Kalyeserye videos all over again - and yes, I still got kilig and giddy (THE MAGIC IS STILL THERE) while watching.
I've always thought they'd be together but we all know it never happened. They're still friends, though - as far as I know (I read Maine's blog). I've always wondered what happened, why did IT died down. Was it because of poor management? Or was it because being together physically doesn't amount to the spontaneity of being on split-screen. Again, we'll never know. BUT, I honestly think that no love team has topped what AlDub did on 2015. It will be hard to top that because what AlDub had was something so surprising, even them didn't know it will happen. It just happened on the spot and the rest was history. They got no script, as Maine said in her first year anniversary post, Alden's smile changed their lives -- because that's how it started, Alden smiled.
It was a phenomenon no one expected, it was something so new: no script, no dialogue, just split screen romance no one has ever done before. It clicked because of the rawness, the spontaneity, the simple but very relatable story. Their reactions are so genuine it reflected and sent giddiness outside all our TV screens. Thinking about their popularity and reflecting on it, I'm pretty sure both of them got too pressured with all the expectations of the fans - it must have been so hard for them. That kind of popularity is hard to manage and maintain. The thought of having to think what to do next just to make the fans happy and to top everything they have done previously must have been exhausting for the both of them -- and that's on top of their hectic schedule + dealing with haters!!! What happened to them is surreal; everyone witnessed that. We're lucky enough to witness everything unfold on our TV screens - 6 times a week. Imagine that? 6 out of 7 days a week. That's insane!
I know for sure a lot of us wants them to be together but I think it's healthier for them to stay this way for now - just friends and enjoying the careers and paths they want to pursue. They have more stable careers now and although not together as a loveteam anymore, we can still see them supporting one another through their social media accounts. I think it's amazing they have the friendship they have now and we all know that both of them will support each other because no matter what happens, both of them can go back to the 16th day of July, 2015 where they opened the path to stardom for one another. And so no matter the pressure showbiz might have caused them -- I wish people would stop harassing them and being very toxic towards them, though -- I'm pretty sure both of them are thankful for each other and no one - even us, fans - can ever take that away from them, it's a special bond only them can understand. We all know that although they are NOT romantically linked anymore, both of them cherishes one another just the same. And most importantly, at least right now and I hope also in the future, too - they are both happy. I think that's what matters most, their happiness. They both deserve it. Because at one point in time (even now, actually), that's what they have given us - happiness.
P.S. I'm actually very thankful to their tandem because they kind of suddenly appeared when I was heartbroken. They helped me move on and made me realize that I don't have to be afraid to fall in love again 😅
