Gosh Ive been thinking of using my boys in a dnd campaign as npcs
Like for this dragon heist campaign I'm working, there could be a thing during the whole "tavern simulator" bit about some reports of bands of orcs and "orges" near waterdeep and it opens into a shit ton faction side quests in which the party does favors for a tribe (Like for the Dark tribe, who are in need to new intel about the city and their nobles or the Marauder tribe wanting to use the party's tavern as a base of operation for scamming the local shops). And in return the party gets a hefty tavern bonus related to that tribe with the downside of most if not all of the favors that the party can do for The Boys can get them into big trouble with the city guards. (cough cough slaughter tribe stealing people for meat cough cough terror tribe stealing people for torment). Oh what crimes against everyone will The Boys commit.
Or even as tiny cameos in favor text.
"Hiding in the tall grass, you quietly stalk into the dark camp. You overhear idle gossip about new captains. After a minute, a larger orc adorn with red armor and war paint disperses the gaggle of grunts with yells of: "Getting back to work" and "I don't feed you to flap your lips, I feed you to defend cargo".
God even throwing in someone like Ratbag could open a quest line of dumb problems cause by even dumber choices. Or throwing in Akoth and Zog would add side quest with chosing a side and the party A. being hunted down or B. stopping pop up cults.
