Erin and Orla might’ve both had crushes on James it’s just that Orla never repressed it because they never saw a problem with it and so was able to just let it pass and get over it while Erin repressed it, it blossomed against her will because she kept denying it until it was impossible to any more and well, we know what happened next.

The Orla x James potential was so fking beautiful and so fking wasted

As someone that still desires romance but most romantic social norms seem useless to me, I desperately wanted to see Orla's actions actually being recognized as with romantic intent. Everybody else would think the way she would behave was weird and not at all romantic, but James would understand and be so fking smitten. Like because of her sensory issues they wouldn't be intimate in ways that most people are intimate but they would express closeness and affection that is so uniquely their own. I also always imagined that Orla would make James feel so free to be himself. Given his issues with his parents, James was constantly trying to find love and acceptance from other people even if that meant changing for them or having his boundaries violated but Orla would never have those same expectations. Those two would've just been so happy to live in a whole world of their own that wasn't defined by society's expectations

They found her in Alamnontyr which was in the destroyed, real-time state. She was next to the Iln's house and looked up, seeing Ten. "I see you finally arrived, Jorla." Blinded in rage, Ten ignored the plan of diplomacy and outright attacked. After a swift battle, Ten cut off the head of the Witch and then realized what he had done out of rage. Boris found a book on her person called 'Tome of the Lost' and opened it, the pages filling and flipping faster and faster when a bright light grew around them as Ten raised his sword to cut the book in half. {REDACTED} Ten cut the book in half and it dropped to form a gauntlet that would allow Ten to dash in any direction without attacks of opportunity. They collected the body and returned to Omepha where they found a caster to cast Gentle Repose on the corpse, a scroll of Gentle Repose, and a cleric of Ilmater called Night to cast Raise Dead when they returned the body to the Hellriders as Mavi remembered they stole a poster from the ghost ship that required her alive and brought to the Hellrider's for a 50k gold rewarded.

So since giving enough of a shit about Derry Girls to care what other people are saying about it, I’ve seen you lot fall into one of three categories:

You ship James with Erin

You ship James with Orla

You ship James with no one/want everyone to all just remain platonic friends

So here is my 2 cents on each category (not that anyone asked)

James and Erin - I like it, I’ve been picking up the subtle vibes they’ve been putting down for a while and I think they’d be quite cute together HOWEVER I wouldn’t be like angry or upset if they were to remain just friends.

James and Orla - I’ve personally always thought Orla was aro/ace just kinda due to the fact she’s never shown an interest in ANYONE like that. She loves her friends to pieces but doesn’t really show an interest for anyone beyond that. I’ve always just kinda seen her and James relationship as a sibling type one. However upon rewatching the season 2 finale I can’t help but notice how touchy she’s being with James when he comes back. Most of the touches still fit into the realm of could be a sibling type touch but the holding his hand and resting her head on his shoulder (and the way she looked at him when she did that) did give me pause.

James and No One - I don’t hate this at all. The thing I like most about the show is the groups friendship. So if James were to end up with no one in the group that would be completely fine with me as long as everyone remained good friends. Plus it would be a good way to show that heterosexual people of opposite genders can in fact be friends with nothing else going on.

All of these thoughts are simply my own opinions and at the end of the day it’s a tv show, I’m not taking it too seriously.

I’m surprised no one’s solution to the debate between James/Erin vs. James/Orla is the scenario of a poly v type situation where Orla just sorta decides on their own that if Erin and they can share everything else then why not share James and Erin just sorta throws up her hands and goes “FINE.” about the whole thing. James doesn’t get a say but also has no follow up questions about it and just figured that something like this would happen with the girls, he’s used to just being thrown over their shoulders and hauled off where he needs to go so fine, guess he has two partners now. Worse things have happened, he supposes.

I wouldn’t be the one to write it, I’m just surprised no one went “Orla makes them share everything else so sharing boyfriends isn’t terribly out of the realm of possibility.”
