Okay so, think about this. What if Moanas dad, Chief Tui, was a supportive parent of Moanas want to be in the ocean. It never says how far Moana wants to go in the ocean until she’s older and sings the song “How Far I’ll Go” What if all she wanted to do was go in the reef with the fishermen, they go out there all the time. Why couldn’t she just go out in the reef, everyone else does? But instead he says “NO” all together, you can never go in the water at all basically. Which come on any teenage rebel knows that’s gonna be the first thing she’s going to do. 

Also, I don’t know much about island culture but I feel like if you live on an island everyone will have some type of part when it comes to gathering resources from the ocean so why is she not allowed near it at all?

Tona - The Taino Frog Children - Fishing This is just a small sketch project I'm working on. Something to keep consistent with my post while also still working on a secret project I'm not allowed to post just yet. This set here is of the Tona fishing, most of there techniques for fishing where instructed by Baba Coqui when he was in his prime and first met the Tona. Before the influence of fishing and Coqui the Tons where left to catch small animals with simple traps. Minus the fish wrestling boy there fishing techniques where from Coqui's former human life as a Taino. That all I can really talk about at the moment so I hope you all enjoy the sketches.
