Horde Prime's body language and mannerisms part 2/3

Can you keep your hands to yourself for 5 minutes??

This time I'm going to talk about Prime's touch and how he weaponizes it to use as a way to manipulate, intimidate and gain control

As I said in part 1, I believe Horde Prime is naturally a tactile person and his brain better communicates with the world around him by thouching and feeling things And Prime specifically enjoys squishing faces of everyone within his reach))

1.Face touching

Prime usually goes for the face and it's easy to see why - to get full attention of his victims. They can't avert their gaze, or move, or pretend like they don't feel him touching them, since face is such a sensitive part of the body. Prime wants to always be the main focus, he wants to be seen and heard. He also wants to enjoy the view - fear and obedience that can be seen on his victims' faces

Prime also likes to keep his hand in one place for excruciatingly long time. Either to make a person almost get used to this touch or, on the opposite, make sure that they don't forget that they're still in danger. And, of course, to flex the power he has over them

Like in this scene with Glimmer. The whole time while Catra is talking Prime's palm rests on Glimmer's cheek. Even after Catra says how important the gueen is HP is still considering killing her. And he made sure that Glimmer remembered that

2. His touch is gentle... until it isn't

What I've noticed is the elegance and softness with which Prime first touches a person. If one can't read his true intentions they might misinterpret HP's touch as him trying to sooth and comfort them, to prove that he's no danger to them. When in reality this is how Prime prepares to strike. In that way he reminds me of a predator on the haunt

Also, notice how Horde Prime gets down to Hordak's level when touching him specifically. A while ago I've made a post about Prime using a real parenting technique when talking to Hordak and Glimmer to make them do what he wants. Check it out if u haven't already!

The saddest thing is - the horde clones (including Hordak) are so starved for love and touch that everytime Prime thouches their faces there's not only surprise and fear in their eyes, but also hope that this is an actual "loving" gesture and this time it won't be followed by pain. Even though they know that it is very unlikely (gladly this lil bat got lucky)

I really love this scene here. "I take no joy in destruction" Prime says, holding the flower very so gently. Yet his knowing smile tells quite the opposite

3. The claw

(again, such a cool metaphor with the flower)

Prime rarely uses his metal claw despite the fact that it is a potentially dangerous weapon and is perfect to be used for intimidation. But like I said, Prime is a tactile guy and not much can be felt through metal

HP only points his claw two times: one at Catra and one at Adora. Someone he probably saw as the biggest threats to his plans and his "perfect" future. Well, he wasn't wrong!

An interesting scene btw. This is the only moment where Prime doesn't move slowly and gently. He's smiling yes, but he's not as playful this time. He doesn't linger either - he immediately grabs her violently by the face and then lets her go right away like she disgusts him. Really shows Prime slowly losing his patience and getting more and more frustrated with his enemy

4. Grabbing people by the shoulder

This one is more subtle, not as intrusive and jarring. Yet it is still a silent reminder of the control Prime has over a person. He always reminds them of his presence even when they cant see his face

It's also interesting that before placing his hand on someone's shoulder Prime goes around them so he always stays behind their back

In this scene with Catra he again reminds me of a predatory animal, a snake elegantly circling around his prey, slowly getting closer and then grabbing her from the back, living no escape routes. And with Glimmer he stays behind but he's still leading the way, guiding her to where he needs her to go. And again, leaving zero chances at escaping

5. Feeling sentimental?

There's so much to talk about in this specific scene, but right now I'll only focus on Prime's hand touching the pod with his old vessel. Its an interesting moment, since this is one of a very few instances where Prime touches something with no intention of "breaking" it

He literally can't take his hands off that glass. Some can say that he's only touching it to prop on something while he's searching through memories. Maybe it's true, but it's not interesting! :p

I personally want to think that Prime still remembers this vessel and some of the memories that he's keeping. Maybe this one holds some great significance to Prime. Or maybe he's like that with all his old vessels and the subject of his past and his long forgotten memories is a very delicate one. Or maybe I'm simply reading way too much into this

But overall I think this shot sums it up perfectly: Horde Prime's hand ruins everything it touches. His touch is painful, his touch is deadly. No matter how gentle it may feel at first. No matter how carefully he tries to touch something. Or someone

He's the one who destroys, after all

eeeeee, okay, okay! maybe not a full-on ramble buuuuut the fic will focus on the influence and differences between social statuses, so i think you can see how these would connect to ayato, noble!reader, and thoma. btw, the tropes in that fic will be a love triangle + unrequited love + right person, wrong time! anddd, my mouth is now zipped until it is finished 👀

is ayato's palette so bright to the point it's kinda difficult to imagine him in an emo clothing??? fatui!ayato's design will take a whole 180° turn from his original blue and white palette but he'll always look majestic no matter what! you and your beautiful writing need to stop coming for me, i swear 😭 if he charms me only to use me, then i think... i might have to save my own heart first <//3 but i don't think i can escape ayato's grasp so easily; what that man wants, he makes sure he achieves it. i finished the sumeru archon quests too and i'm kinda excited for what's to come! tho, i'm completing the aranyaka quests and i'm currently on part 3 😭 i swear, aranyaka part 2 exists to advocate back pain but the aranara's are all super adorable !! accidentally because my hp artifacts just happened to roll into lots of energy recharge, help 🤧 it's fun being able to use grandpa's burst so frequently and the petrify effect is sooo 🤌 good luck building him to the best of your abilities, rin jie! maybe you can flex him to us sometimes??? 👀

YESSS, YOU GET ME. after all, it's in a human's nature to find something to blame like transferring the burden of pain from your hands to another's — but in these cases? you have no option but to hold onto this burden and the longer it stays, the longer your hands burn. this is a meeting of minds. the both of us rn 🤝

(/j) but i hope you get to pull more characters that you can try out new playstyles with in the future! alhaitham, maybe 👀 (/j) like personally, i'd definitely prefer a new character than a constellation 😭 but oddly enough, losing the 50/50 actually gives me a sense of security sometimes because yes, guaranteed next !! so, i do this strategy where if i'm on the 50/50, i don't save and instead do a pull every time i can but it has to be on a banner that i'd regret the least! like the thought process of: if i win the 50/50 here? cool, new chara! if i lose? cool, guaranteed for me! this teaches me to be at peace with the 50/50 system + get a new chara or a guaranteed chara! but only if you're on the 50/50 tho, that is the most important part~

Well this is new. Like this has been a very unique Regency novel. This is part of the Regency Rakes collection and honestly it was quite tame, for present times, but quite scandalous for the Regency era. We meet Claire and Simon, who are the Duke and Duchess of the last books dearest friends. But Claire can not stand Simon. She finds him obnoxious and too forward, if she only knew that he was the only one willing to help her in her time of need. This book touches themes about grieving and letting go and the lengths one would go for family. Also its quite cute how self sacrificing our leads are even if it gets annoying.  Yes, I am looking at you Claire. Stop running away from people who are trying to help you. In the end they all lived happily ever af-oh there is a third book!

And our lovely lead Dylan pretty much is the same. So... Brooke are you okay? You sure? Ok. So this is the story of struggling actress Brooke and how her agent arranges for her to be the fake girlfriend of football star Dylan. Whose reputation as a whore has followed him across the pond. My issue is that he like immediately is like I want to kiss your cat and please eat my roster. He was like so sexually aggressive and she was into it. Which is fine but girl... I hope you had fun for the emotional gymnastics you went through. Dylan wants her but doesn't want to change at first which causes a whole other type of drama. Especially with you are mine thing. The seperation was also a curve ball and very enjoyable but I hated the over possession and the shaming of female characters when they act like our make leads. All in all a good read but I worry. Is toxicity worth a good lay?

Review:

Why did I wait so long to read this book. Like it was amazing and beautifully written. My first experience with this book was through the Steven Spielberg movie. I wish I could turn back time and read this book first. Though the movie was great, I feel that the original story was a million times better. It was more than just about the alien invasion but rather the Hubris of men. The society presented to us thought that they were the most powerful and thus did not have to worry about it. Then just to be proven wrong in the worst way. Everyone knows the ending so it won't be a shock to know that it was the Aliens own Hubris that causes their downfall. All in all way ahead of its time and most certainly worth the read.

Review:

Yes.... I'm still on my historical fiction thing. Don't act suprised or like it's not enjoyable. This story was enjoyable but alot more darker than most. Usually, the Lady is a gentle and sweet soul who has suffered very little. Not our Eva. Eva and Daniel didn't know what was coming when their father's decided to play cards. One bad gamble leads to a unwanted marriage between Daniel and Eva. And they didn't know what to expect from each other when they got married but by gosh did they enjoy it. Eva expects more of the same. A hard, cold and abusive husband and Daniel expected  some mousey little chit. They were wrong... so wrong, and with out even realizing it they fall in like and then in love. It was a sweet and at times steamy read. With a new perspective of society and the norms. Great read that again they live happily ever after.

Review:

So this is what happens when you put too much pressure on one person. Mistakes happen but... that doesn't mean you can over react either. Amora is preparing to make her performance to prove her worth to the kingdom. But gosh, her support system sucks. You know you aren't supposed to stress people before a big exam. Well these people failed that. So after Amora's presentation goes horribly wrong she gets thrown in prison with the only person on her side is her childhood friend and fiance, Ferrick. Again love him but I am so glad that Amora is straight up with him and us. Love you but not in love with you. Then there is the plots against the kingdom, a very mysterious and sexy pirate and a mermaid who gives me life. So poor Amora has alot on her plate. I loved the world building and though I wished it could have been explored more, I understand that it's hard to do so in a duology. It was a good adventure with various locations and threats and characters that are likeable. Like seriously Vataea, Mermaid queen slaying it up and down. Another thing that I loved that the story was about saving the kingdom it was never about Amora being a girl, or her struggling between Ferrick and Bastian (pirate) but rather her need to save her home. My only complaint is that the end was a bit rushed but still a great read. I can't wait for the sequel.
