What timeframe is Paradoxal Hope set?: This AU is set 150 years after the events of Pokémon Violet (or scarlet, doesn't matter much). In this world, a company known as Shardlife Corporation, or ShardCo., rules over the world and its government, which is now called "The United Poké-Regions," or the UPR.

What is 'Shardlife Corporation,'?: After the events of Era Violet (what it's called in-AU), a war occurred where a race to harness the Tera Shards within Area Zero caused mass uproar and unrest, and many corporations and companies raced to be the first ones to figure out how to use the power. Gregory Bailey, the founder of Shardlife, discovered many different properties for the shards, even a way to end the war that raged within area zero. Today, Area Zero is heavily guarded by drones and soldiers, and anyone caught trying to sneak in will be executed, according to rumor. No one really knows how they ended the war, many theories were created, but none confirmed nor denied.

What are some conflicts in this AU?: Man versus Nature, Man versus Technology, Society versus Technology, Society versus Corporations.

What pokémon are present in this world?: Some paradoxal fakemon exist, however they have OC names and descriptions. I'm unsure if they actually exist or were created by other creators; because to tell you the honest truth I don't actually view a lot of other creators stuff. I see things in passing at times, but it's not like I go out and seek it. It's not my thing. That said, if I do accidentally copy someone, let me know so I can change it or at the very least ask them to review it to see their thoughts on the subject.

What's the deal with fallers?: This world is heavy on multiverses. In this world, that means multi fandom universes. Anyone from any universe is welcome within this one, however humanoid creatures will be fully human and fit the human society and world of this one, and those who appear as creatures become Pokémon with their own typing based on Canon types (or you can make one up idc get creative). For example, one of my friends/rp partners has an illager oc that turned into a pokémon. This is because illagers & villagers, and creatures like them, turn into pokémon within this world, and players (like the Steve dude) turn into trainers/humans respectively. Fursonas would turn into Pokéhuman hybrid type creatures. The point is, you wouldn't look at all how you did in your world and you would turn into whatever would suit you best in this worlds au. If you need help with creating a starter or making an oc for this au, do not hesitate to ask questions or dm me!

As I draft more stories, create arcs, and more, the lore may be updated and/or changed, things added to it, etc. Thank you for reading!

What is the genre, theme and/or aesthetic of the AU?: The theme explores how corporate influence on an otherwise natural world can corrupt the natural balance. The future Paradox Pokémon in violet gave me inspiration to create this AU, to explain in my own thoughts and headcanon essentially, how Paradox Pokémon came to be. This AU touches heavily on the idea of a Holocene Extinction, which pretty much is the concept where human activity has caused many of our natural Flora and fauna to go extinct, causing food drought, civil unrest, and more. In this world, drones & heavily armed soldiers exist. In a way, it mixes elements of cyberpunk 2077 with Pokémon, turning it into a rated T-M for teen-mature story-arc that involves a lot of conversation about environmental destruction, technology consumption, and more.

What is Eden?: Eden is the main protagonist team founded by faller!turo 15 years prior to the set of the story. Eserine joined the group at 18 years old after her family abandoned her for undisclosed reasons (may be revealed in roleplays). She doesn't talk much about her life before, but it is unusual how she seems to be vastly educated in sciences and technology. She spends hours each day tinkering with computers and Lab equipment, creating new inventions in the process. At age 20, she developed the Musharna Machine, a way that feeds Musharna good dreams through people or pokémon using its mist, that can also study and research anomalies and strange objects. Eden's goal is to return the pokémon world to its former, natural state; where people coincided with pokémon instead of attempting to harness and rule their energy and power often to the brink of extinction. Eden does secret research, creates groundbreaking technology, and has branches all over the world. I'll do the same for you!)

First impression: after peripheral awareness of metal gear solid existing for ten years, in 2008 i was playing brawl on my friends wii and was like.....who is real human man caked up with a gun in my silly nintendo party fighter. and then i shot pokemon trainer with a nikita missile and it was love at first sight 💖

Impression now: he's the wolf, he's the lamb, he's the sheep dog he's the shepherd, he's jesus christ. he's done unspeakale horrors he's a monument to the innate kindness of human beings in the face of mistreatment every parental figure in his life. he's been married for a decade and had a child with a man who i know owns more than one horny dakimura. he's the first video game character to ever say the word bisexual. he loves dogs. he's a clone of his father. his father who ignored him his entire life only told him he was his father to manipulate him before snake burned him alive with a macguyvered zippo flamethrower. kojima spend months modeling his ass. literally character of all time.

Favorite moment: "i'm not like you, i love life" "life is worth living even when it hurts you, even when you hurt it." everytime he does that shoulder grab and soulful eye stare at otacon, sunny, or raiden when they're filled with despair.

Idea for a story: he lives another happy fifty healthy years after the end of mgs4 i know this i learned this in a psychic attack from kojima.

Unpopular opinion: people who look at this man and see someone other than a bottom.....girl i cannot help you.

Favorite relationship: otasune my beloved. also him and sunny (father and daughter of all time 🥺🥺🥺, him and raiden (weh), whatever deranged shit he and kaz had going on take that how you will, and him and frankie 😩😩😩

Favorite headcanon: i have never gotten over that one post about hal putting on the first pokemon movie for sunny and dave seeing it and fully cat crying dot png because mewtwo's just like him fr

First impression: me @ the age of 6 watching toonami at my cousin's house: who is this infinitesimal crying man being beaten to death in front of me.

Impression now: worst galactically wanted planet destroyer princess alive 💖💖💖💖💖💖 i love him so bad.

Favorite moment: his majin arc was so insane he was sooooo #gonegirl, gatekeep, girlboss i love gay divorce.

Idea for a story: vegeta doesn't get inflicted with toriyama's comp het. actualy just apply that to every dragon ball character.

Unpopular opinion: i understand it's like...better for his mental health and i like the concept but like........i wish his character arc had ended with "i dont have to be better than goku" rather than "goku will always bee better than me" like.....thanks i hate that

Favorite relationship: goku and vegeta unfortunately, he and bulma but as people who used to to fuck because they're both stone cold 10's and now they are just little haters together, if i was toriyama i would have done a whole lot more with him and gohan given that they literally have the same backstory, him and piccolo and chichi should have a bitch4bitch4bitch club i would be so down, him and raditz because it makes me insane, him and freeza but only when they focus on his horrifically unpacked trauma and make vegeta shake like a pursedog and then he kills freeza, oh and him and tarble because what the fuck they literally never did anything with that.

1. Your first OC ever?

Oh, this is Hard, I barely remember my little self-insert OCs from way back when. I will hesitantly say my first OC ever was... a Pokemon trainer OC. Her name was Ari, she had a Celebi who she could talk to because I said so, and her love interest was the Aura guy who hangs out on Iron Island. Good times!

6. Two OCs of yours that look alike despite not being related?

.....This feels like a callout. Hm. So, y'see, I have this thing where I'm uncreative and have a Type when it comes to character design, so... a lot of my OCs do tend to look alike superficially.

Technically Atlas (a dnd OC) and Aurelion (a dating sim OC) should be the poster children for this question, only because they were a case of not so much 'looking alike' as 'hey I'm stealing my own character design for a different setting because I like it and couldn't think of anything else.' Consequently, Atlas and Aurelion look more-or-less like twins despite not even belonging to the same universe(s). However, I do like to joke that they're somehow distantly related--given that one exists in a sort of medieval-fantasy-Ancient-Greece blend and the other in a futuristic space empire-- if only because the thought of Atlas having a far-off descendant who looks exactly like them makes me laugh.

Otherwise, I do have a lot of blonde OCs (fondly and only sort-of-jokingly nicknamed my Army of Blondes) who kind of vaguely look like they could be related but definitely aren't. The two OCs who /are/ related basically look nothing alike at all.

10. Introduce an OC with a complicated design?

Hmmmmm, "complicated" is a very subjective term... To me, none of my OCs designs are particularly complicated - they all have more complex bits, usually wardrobe related, and only because I can't resist a fun wardrobe, but by and large they're not all that complicated. I will, however, nominate Atlas for this one, because they wear armour almost All The Time, and it's kind of ornate and I hate drawing it, so.

16. Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)?

Hmmmmm. Probably Castor (dnd Wizard). He's a nerd. <3 Oh, but also Dani! She's an OC for a different TTRPG (Masks, if anyone is curious!) and is kind of an over-achiever-needs-straight-A's kid, bless her heart.

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?

Lyra and Nicky! Lyra is my beautiful, beautiful human bard, my first ever DND PC, and is a country singer. :,) I don't really have a headcanon for her voice, but her character playlist is mostly Dolly Parton with a little bit of Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves thrown in, so feel free to imagine something that suits. I imagine her belting Jolene a lot. <3

Nicky is my brandest newest baby boy, who I know very little about music-wise. He's in a band with some dudes about his age, ostensibly of the rock persuasion, but since I know very little about rock music, I mostly imagine him sounding like Charlie Gillespie, since Julie and the Phantoms is the only thing I really know that even vaguely fits the concept. 😂

26. Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will?

Thankfully, no! I've been very fortunate that all my dear friends who play Barbies with me are very accommodating of my little characters, so I've generally never really had to mess with them any more than I particularly wanted to.

30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection?

Dani, one hundred percent, bless her. She already has one stuffed animal she doesn't keep secret - she's probably got a stash under her bed.

36. Do you have OC pairs where the other part belongs to someone else (siblings, lovers, friends etc)?

In fairness, almost all of my OCs are part of a larger group made with (a) friend(s), so they tend to all have a friend or sibling or s/o who belongs to someone else, but I feel like most relevant would be my beloved Rose, whose boyfriend/soulmate/husband/etc. belongs to @ash-soka <3

Shout-out to my beloved friend C, too, who bequeathed me partial ownership of the book she may or may not someday write so my little character and hers could be dating-divorced-will-they-won't-they-maybe-in-another-life-or-maybe-in-this-one for my enjoyment. <3 Wyvern+Sera 4eva <3 <3 <3 And also Anna and Clara! Bestie supernatural room-mates!!

40. Any fond memories linked to your characters? Feel free to share!

The act of creating all my OCs are always fond memories in themselves - good times where I was having fun with friends! There are too many good moments to remember and pick, honestly.

46. Has anyone ever told you that you treat your OCs badly?

Luckily no lmao, I don't tend to brutalize them much (at least not out loud), so I generally never have cause to be accused of such.

Hey so I'm a little confused on whether or not you think Akari is dawn? In your latest fic she is, or is that separate? Is Akari dawn but without her memories? Sorry!

No worries!! I’ve entertained the concept in almost all of my AU discussions, but I never explicitly elaborated on this for my fics.

I do indeed headcanon it, but more like in the sense Akari, the PLA game protag, is Dawn, the Diamond/Pearl game protag. I don’t really model her behavior after Dawn from the Pokémon anime, if that makes sense?

Basically, I headcanon her with everything the Diamond/Pearl game lends to Dawn(and Lucas) as the protag character, like having Johanna as a mom, having Barry as a rival/friend, and being a trainer in Sinnoh. But I’m very vague with my Akari’s backstory and rarely have her bring up other memories, because the rest is pretty much meant for you to play out your own way!

The fic Let’s Get You Back to Her explicitly mentioned this because it was part of a writing request, but I think I got that request cause I’ve mentioned I like this headcanon from time to time haha. But what’s talked about in the fic fits with what I stated above, so I would count this fic as in the same story as the others I’ve written.

No need to apologize, I really appreciate questions like this!!! Especially if I’ve done something confusing (which I feel I do a lot haha), I appreciate I can help clear it up!!

-Eldritch Horror AU :: Or if that's a bit too out there, a more normal Monster AU. I don't care, but in my heart, I know Cleo is some kind of eldritch horror. Zombie is far too easy.

-Eldritch Monster AU! Hermits are all Lovecraftian horrors who all individually decided that they wanted to pretend to be normal and are all trying to hide their otherworldliness. I also feel like Mumbo or X or someone as the one actually "normal" player on the server would work well. Most hermits don't know that everyone else isn't normal either, but some find out about friends maybe.

-Rabid Debate Club AU :: Random weird au idea where it's basic hs/uni au but like two of them try to start a debate club, then invite some friends just so there's enough people; cut to like two months later, it's all the hermits just fighting over whether or not pineapple should go on pizza or not lol it isn't very good i'm sorry but ya know rabid debate club AU.

-Animal/shapeshifting AU :: (Suggested Twice.) Every hermit can shapeshift into one token animal. (If it's something like "dog," they can only turn into one breed and color of dog, EXAMPLE: doc can shift into a black sable belgian malinois, but not anything else.)

-Wedding Planners AU :: Hermits work in various unrelated businesses such as a bakery, flower shop, etc., but see each other semi-often bc they're semi-often called upon to work together by another hermit's wedding planning business (obvs if you couldn't tell i know absolutely nothing abt wedding planning & businesses n shit lol but it's the /concept/ of it yannknow)

-Avatar: The Last Air Bender AU. (Suggested Thrice.)

-Fusion AU :: (Also suggested by Anon.) (Suggested Twice.) What if Hermits could fuse with each other? (Viva and Jumbo fused into MumboJumbo.)

-SCP AU :: The hermits have spooky powers and are kept locked up bc of it (or they have to keep the world safe from monsters and cursed objects!)

-Adventure Time AU :: The hermits live in a post-apocalyptic world and the Lich (bad guy) is making everything decay. They need to gather all the gems (belt colours) to unlock the Enchiridion (a book) and have one wish each granted from Prismo (multiverse wish granting dude) before the Lich does. Only 4 elements can enter the multiverse: Slime (The Lich & Jevin), Redstone (Tango or Mumbo?), Ice (Stress), and Dirt (Grian, much to his dismay). Only the elementals can see the book. Grian's the protagonist with his sidekick Scar. He originally started collecting the belts because they were shiny but eventually decided to read the book and find out what they were for when Scar said he didn't see it. Doc, False, and Iskall are major obstacles because they don't believe the book exists.</p>

-Magical Girl AU :: Zedaph's the lead magical girl and rounds up a bunch of other magical girl hermits.

-Pokeman AU :: What are the Hermit's roles in this world? Who's the Champion, Elite Four. Are they scientists? Trainers? Do they compete in competitions, do they specialize in types? Who's everyone's starter? Has anyone encountered any legendaries?

-Wizard101 AU :: I (🦊) recently got this AU idea and recently started going off somewhere with it in terms of writing, but, like, Hermitcraft meets Wizard101. Tons and tons of magical shenanigans, monster hunting, and idk what else.

-My Hero Academia AU :: Headcanons can be about which hermits would have what quirks and occupations based on them.

-So I'm writing an AU where there's a second game of Demise but 5 years later. So far the first 2 hermits (Joe and Xisuma) have died, and their dead forms are cracked with an arrow in his chest (Xisuma) and cyborg (Joe). So since it's Saturday, I'm looking for what some skins would look for.

-City AU :: I mean this is really just a normal everyday AU.

-School AU.

-Terraria-Minecraft Fusion AU :: Who chooses what class? what events do each hermit prefer? how to they deal with the world infections? preferred biomes? Favourite NPCS? It has potentiallllll.

-70s/80s Teen Horror AU :: (like Stranger Things, Carreie, The Lost Boys, Halloween, etc.) -🦇

-Demi-God AU :: Sort of like percy jackson (everyone being the children of different gods from all different cultures.)

-Supernatural AU

-Marching Band AU :: Xisuma is the band major and all the show music is the remixes. I need to come up with some ideas for uniforms. Outfits and flags for the colorguard too.

-Different Eras AU :: (Suggested Twice.) All the hermits are from different time periods or eras. Like Wels is from the mediveal/dark era, Mumbo is from 1890-1920's, Iskall is from 2030, TFC is from 2020(?), Cleo is from 2130, etc!!! Like the mobs/animals became feused with humans, is when the mob players came from.

-Star Trek AU :: Like maybe they could be on one ship and each have different roles like engineers or doctors? I don’t know if this has been suggested but hope you enjoy! - 🐦

-House Mates AU :: ApartmentAU but scaled down?

-Atlantis AU :: (Could be merged with Mermaid AU???)

-Fighting Game AU :: Some influences would be Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Ultra Instinct, that kind of stuff.

-Time loop AU :: The hermits each have to deal with their own time loop.

-Superhero/superpower AU :: They each have a unique power/powerset that is in some way connected to their personality. (ie Mumbo *could* control electricity because of his love of redstone) Some Hermits may even choose to be "villains" and prank their other servermates. If you need power ideas, I've got a couple. -Incredibly Long Cross Country Train Ride AU :: they all are in the same train car, telling stories of where they’re going, backstories.)

-Mermaid AU :: In honor of the end of Mermay

-Paranormal/ghost hunter AU :: A couple Hermits could be the ghost hunters going to haunted locations to prove/disprove their hauntedness, others could be camera crew, owners of haunted buildings, or even the ghosts themselves.

-Camping/Vacation AU.

-Summer Cottage AU :: They all spend summers/weekends along the same shoreline and do different summer activities together. Outdoor fun and shenanigans!

-Space AU :: like star trek or similar.

-I would say evil clone au but I think that's pretty much the entire Hermitcraft tumblr right now lol. (Suggested twice.)

-Magic AU :: Magic exists and all the hermits have powers. They can also summon a weapon but what that weapon is depends on the hermit. I'm thinking it'll take place in a sort-of Demise 2 in S7 with a big war. So far I've got: Grian - Cloning himself to his different personas (each has a different power). Xisuma - Making barriers, teleporting, and transforming into different mobs. Scar - Making mutant plants & boosting other hermits' attack & health. (-@datsaltyperson.)

-Demon AU :: Something enters the overworld and turns into a supernatural style-demon through Dimentional Distortion. Who gets posessed first, who goes crazy, and who actually kills it? Honestly I think that, if anything, Tango would know how to gank it, for obvious reasons. (-@fireflower-dusk.)

-High Street AU :: Everyone owns a different shop on the same street or some run a shop together (-@violets-arepurple.)

-Cat AU :: Either they're were always cats, or Hels turned everyone, including himself, into a cat, and they have to survive and overcome challenges in the Season 7 world. An example of a challenge would be Cub's a Sand Cat(the cats that always look like kittens no matter how old they are and live in deserts), and everyone's not sure if he can actually swim, so they have to find a way for him to get around without involving water. -How about a secret AU.. Every hermit has their big secrets and when Grian joined. He doesn't really know anything about those secrets even till season 7. Not many hermits talked to him in S6 anyway.. Mumbo was the closest to him so they would have regular chats For Iskall is mostly business related things Grian wants to know why so he set out on a quest to force the others to at least talk to him so he wouldn't be lonely. -Hermit Family AU :: Xisuma is very busy dad but when he isnt busy the kids and younger hermits annoying the hell out of him. Grian once asked to use Xisuma's computer and crashed the whole thing trying to download illegal gamesites and get money off the internet. Hi and welcome, my fellow pole dancer! Hey, a year is already a long time and I’m sure you’ve already come very far! It gets easy to become so fixated on all the new moves you’re just learning or still can’t do, but remember when you first started and all you really did was walk around the pole? Even that felt so awkward! Or maybe that was just me xD

Anyways, there is more to come (eventually) since pole dancer!Tony is not something I can see losing interest in any time soon, but for now I’ll hope this little titbit will satisfy! It’s basically a ‘how it all started’ ficlet. Enjoy :)

It was all Rhodey’s fault. Well, and maybe sort of Tony’s, in a tiny, utterly negligible way, but that isn’t important. The point is, Tony’s lost a stupid bet and his best friend is an asshole, and that’s the only reason he’s even here, attending a first time pole dancing lesson. Really. It’s not like he’s been whining to Rhodey about wanting to try it for the past two years, absolutely not.

It’s… weird.

It’s weird because he’s very aware that in a class of eleven people, he’s the only guy–though their trainer, a tall woman with wild, black curls and a strict, no non-sense attitude has assured him that there are a couple of other men training at their studio, all in different classes–and it’s just odd.

Nobody is being rude though and Tony ruthlessly squashes the urge to fiddle with the hem of his top. He really needs to get a hold of himself. There’s no reason to be weird about this. Also, the fact that he’s about to learn how to pole dance.

And nope, that not excitement, that’s apprehension, thank you very much.

They start with a simple introduction, names, dance experiences, reasons for showing up here. Their trainer–Eve–explains some of the basics around pole dance, the studio and a couple of things for their own security. (Like, you know, don’t climb up that pole and do one of those upside down turns you’ve seen on TV without a mat, instructions or prior experience.) Then the actual lesson starts.

“Alright!” Eve calls out eventually, turning up the volume of the hi-fi equipment as she goes. “Everybody grab a yoga mat please!”

They start with a warm-up routine, a mixture of stretch and Kraft-exercises, that dearly reminds Tony how out-of-shape he really is–and it’s only been the first twenty minutes. Still, he builds an instant kinship with the strawberry blonde girl on the pole right next to his, who starts cursing softly under her breath after the third push-up, and they both exchange breathless grins over Eve’s sharp counting.

By the time they are told to put the mats away, Tony can’t deny that he’s genuinely looking forward to trying some real stuff out–and to the water that Eve regularly reminds them to drink.

And really, it’s a lot more fun than Tony expected. They don’t do anything really impressive, rationally he knows that. Which makes total sense because it becomes obvious immediately that none of them where lying–they all don’t have a clue what they’re doing. But that makes the moves Eve shows them all the more fun, the secure knowledge that you aren’t the only one who keeps stumbling and grips the pole with the wrong hand.

It’s mostly dance steps around the pole with little twirls at this point, as well as a crash course in climbing a pole the right way. It’s a lot harder than it sounds. You have to use not just your hands but also your underarms to keep a stable hold, and-

“Don’t forget to stretch your feet!” Eve reminds them for the up-tenth time. “Remember it looks much more elegant this way!”

The session ends with a few stretching exercises and a last round of Q&A–

“What clothes are the most practical?”

“How long does a lesson typically last?”

“Is it possible to have more than one lesson a week?”

–before Eve asks them to please sign up for the course if they are interested in continuing. Swallowing, Tony stares at the piece of paper being passed around, flashes of What will Rhodey say and Am I really doing this passing through his mind.

But when Strawberry-Blonde hands him a pen, Tony doesn’t even hesitate to sign his name, a little shakily perhaps, but readable all the same.

He’s had a fun time and he’s gonna give this a shot, damn everyone else’s opinions. And if the thought of telling Howard about his newest hobby brings a brilliant smile on Tony’s face, well. That’s nobody’s business but his own.
