I can imagine ler!spencer giving really gentle, soft tickles after an autistic lee has a meltdown. Only with their consent, of course, since sometimes people touching after a meltdown is very upsetting. And he’s very soft and sweet about it, not his usual teasy self bc he knows you’re feeling emotionally sensitive and 🥺

Meltdowns are so fucking hard to navigate (I usually end up in a nonverbal shutdown right after, which is either oddly comforting, or it feels really scary T-T) and I love this headcanon because Spencer would be so understanding and supportive 🥺 /gen Get ready I'm gonna infodump because this headcanon makes my heart flutter /pos

I can see him softly asking if he can be close by to give you some support, and if you need total space he'll respect it. If you affirm that you want him close by, he'll quietly take a seat next to you. Spencer's very attentive and he can quickly pick up on whether or not an autistic lee goes nonverbal. Following that, I can see him asking them if they need a pressure hug or hand squeeze (squeeze hugs are so comforting but I have to be the initiator. Being touch starved AND touch averse is such a nightmare cycle)

If you feel any embarrassment or shame about the meltdown, Spencer will calmly and very sweetly combat those feelings of shame. I can see him giving an encouraging infodump and reminding you that your meltdowns (or shutdowns, or both) are a response to sensory overwhelm and that you should never be made to feel that there's anything wrong with you, especially when at times you're having to navigate a neurotypical environment that doesn't accommodate or cater to neurodivergent people.

He'll always make sure you're in a little bit better headspace before he asks if you'd be okay with tickles 🥺👉🏾👈🏾 And if you aren't, he'll say that's okay and tell you he's proud of you for communicating that boundary to him (I struggle so bad with setting boundaries so this would be reaffirming and reassuring T-T)

If you are okay with tickles, he'll give the sweetest lil smile and slowly lift his hands and playfully wiggle his fingers, at which point if you already crack a smile or a giggle slips from your lips, Spencer's gonna grin and tell you how happy he is to see that smile or hear that laugh. He'll ask you if it's okay to go for a certain tickle spot and will continue to ask before he changes the spot he's tickling. The tickling is so soft and gentle and the entire time he's doing so, he's giving you encouragement and reassurance and telling you that you're safe, you're loved, you're strong; all the kindest, most caring words because he really wants you to be happy and it hurts his heart when you feel embarrassed, or sad, or scared, or ashamed. He really cares about you 🥺 /gen

And everything he says is completely void of a teasing tone. It's just so playful- and sweet and he's reminding you that whenever you want him to stop he'll stop
