MEANWHILE
Yuuko lends Kohane a kimono with a pattern of sakura blossoms - some white on black, and others the inverted black on white. It’s such an INTERESTING choice that has clear themes for either series - though I’m curious about what it means for Kohane in particular. I suppose it could just represent her connection with Watanuki, whose existence is EXTREMELY related to inverted colour schemes and sakura blossoms right now.
Either way it looks great - she’s starting to feel better, now that the immediate tragedy is over and the shock of it all has worn off, and Mokona effortlessly comforts her as Yuuko looks on warmly.
I wish I could identify the flowers in her hair and what that might signify too, but that aside I really adore how Kohane’s hair is done up in the same style as Yuuko’s with a similar adornment (did Yuuko help her do it - in a way that her mother never did?), and already you can see how visually open her face is. Especially when, in the previous two chapters, there was so little emotion to her face, with her hair visually coming down like she was trapped and distant in her own life. HERE you can SEE her - her thoughts and emotions are clear, and people are openly supporting and encouraging her in ways that she is STARVED of. It’s wonderful. 100/10 it’s what she deserves. More of this forever. We stan.
