these last few days, I’ve really been close to losing my mind. I’m back to doing history readings for my degree, but since I’ve dived into radical feminist writings, it’s like my eyes have been open to something horrible and I can’t close them, and now I see just how pervasive misogyny is at all levels of historiography. Even attempts to give women “agency” in history just seems to be a glossing over of the patriarchal norms that essentially backed these women into a corner, leaving no truly free options.
But it makes me feel like I’m insane, that I’m the only one questioning how free these choices really were. I’ve been reading Aphrodite’s Tortoise: The Veiled Women of Ancient Greece and I kind of want to throttle the author who seems really defensive of the idea that women covering their faces is a sort of freedom.  I know I’ve talked about modern veiling and modesty cultures in the past, and yes, I get it, not being perceived by men can be great sometimes, but it’s still dehumanizing and about control. And this isn’t even getting into how voyeuristic Ancient Greek art really was. And now I have to see Judith Butler cited in a paper about women and suicide in the Ming-Qing period, and I think I'm going to have a stroke.
Maybe I’ve just got my radfem goggles on too tight, but I think there’s a delicate line between recognizing that historical women were real people with agency who made choices, and erasing and excusing the social and cultural pressures that gave them their limited options and generally prevented them from living as fully as they could.
and this isn’t even addressing the blatant misogyny that has no qualms about hiding itself that makes me want to go feral.
also how can I engage with group discussions on these topics without looking like a lunatic????? I feel like I am going genuinely insane here, and I have seminar on this shit in two hours. Send help.

More Last Holiday Musings...
I want to poke at that interdimensional geoscope a little more, because upon reading it over again, I think I splashed it up a little fast and there are a couple of points I’d like to be clearer about. I meant to queue this up to post last night but also want it to be up before Gimme Shelter so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is more blue curtains lit crit with a dash of folklore and an honorable mention for post-structuralism. And we’re talking about Supernatural after all, so this is sort of... well, it’s about endings.
Last Holiday was not a typical “filler” or even a typical MOTW episode. It felt extremely insular, possibly more so than any other episode I can think at any other point in the series. As opposed to the usual crowd of “locals,” a spate of victims, and a couple of red herring suspects, the only other people in this ep besides the Winchesters (including Jack) and Mrs. Butters were the two vampires and Cuthbert Sinclair. There was no “case” as in a usual MOTW-- there was no Chuck Struggle, either, and the lack of mytharc was strange against the lack of “filler” schema. That lack of “MOTW investigation” marked this episode also as being about “curiosity”-- the Winchesters all-too-quickly took Mrs. Butters for granted-- Dean even dismissed her as a “Magic Roomba” and that seemed to settle the matter. Furthermore, the moment that Dean spotted Mrs. B in his room, the stage was set for Antics ™ when she held up his goofy Scooby boxers, and indeed a zaniness, an almost manic energy drove the action forward at a breakneck pace. [Spoiler alert, we do get “investigation” in the next episode, 15x15 Gimme Shelter, as stills and the preview show that Castiel and Jack will be teaming up together, in yet another shake-up of the usual “MOTW” template, almost like we can expect the other side of a coin when Sam and Dean switch places with Cas...] These features set Last Holiday apart as not so much “filler” as “between,” as in there was struggle before, and there will be struggle after, but for a while there was cake. (Contrast this to the usual “peril of the threshold” that usually shrouds liminality if you’d like.)
At the end of Last Holiday, however, we finally get to find out what that old blue telescope really is, and with that name we get confirmation that there are no more alternate universes-- Chuck has burned them all. Viewers are left to come to the conclusion that in retrospect the telescope-thing could have changed the course of season 13 completely. The reveal is played off as darkly funny, but it’s also kind of a gut-wrenching moment, too. All the heartbreak of the last two and a half years, reviewed now through the lens of “if only.” If only they’d known about Mrs. Butters from the time they found the bunker, “none of this would have happened”… they’d have had monster radar, they’d have had the geoscope, they would have had supernatural help of a completely different level.
The temptation to read Last Holiday as a Chuck-free episode is strong, but fraught-- the threat of Chuck’s involvement has been established by a pattern this season (well the pattern is woven throughout the whole series really but Dabb has deliberately structured these last three seasons with an exponentially increasing frequency.) I feel like we’ve been conditioned this season in particular to hold ourselves in a perpetual flinch, to be afraid of what we’ll learn “in retrospect.” That geoscope was really_good_subtext, and it is entirely possible, even encouraged, at this point in the plot to take information we’ve learned from the naming of the object, examine our own conditioned response to this episode, and apply both things to the structure of the season so far and make a prediction as to what might happen in the main plot. That’s what I mean about subtext getting loud. We’ve been given the green-light to make a prediction about The Struggle and march forward with it, and see if we will be correct by extrapolating the pattern, or if that expectation will be subverted (the twist is set up to run either way, so either outcome is satisfying.) It is Melville-esque architecture of the highest degree;I could write another thousand words just about that. So I have a prediction that I’m hanging on to, because of what we’ve learned from the geoscope, and what kinds of clues were hung up in Last Holiday, and I’m super excited to either have my hunch confirmed or be frightfully and delightedly surprised. I mean, where the fuck did Jeremy Adams even come from? He’s like our own Mrs. Butters, showing up in the last quarter to run a couple game-changing balls into the end zone, it’s bonkers. I mean, I know writing mysteries is hard and requires still AND cunning, but damn, son.
But anyway, back to the geoscope…
I’m perplexed, from a very “lit crit” perspective, but this is where I’m at and why I referenced blue curtains-- if you shine too bright a light on subtext, does it evaporate-- like looking through an interdimensional geoscope and not seeing anything-- or is “subtext” sometimes not some ephemeral fever-dream that we as viewers conjure up through our experiential interlocution with the text but something a writer has steeped into the narrative as part of their craft? Or when you’re talking about an evolving iteration of writers, is it possible that one picks up a thread that another wove in for something else, repurposing or amplifying it? And, when perhaps is something deliberately instilled in the text in order to become “text” at just the right time? In Moby Dick, [spoiler alert lol] Quequeg’s coffin-- formerly one of many symbolic vehicles used to foreshadow the doom of the Pequod-- is repurposed as a life buoy and becomes the actual object that saves Ishmael’s life, transforming it from a portent of disaster to a symbol of salvation and then to one of Ishmael’s guilt for surviving Ahab’s madness-- the guilt that had been made text by the very opening line of the book, “Call me Ishmael.” In retrospect, the connotations of wandering, exile and salvation behind the name that the narrator gives himself become crystal clear. The problem that the post-structuralist model of “reading” as simultaneously “creating the text” has manufactured is that the idea that “subtext” can often be discounted as something dreamed up wholecloth by the reader, and thus inferior, imaginary, even delusional (and I use that last word knowing what a loaded term that is in the spn fandom, but this is not about a ship, even) where once it was considered to be a valid and measurable part of the text itself, like that dang coffin. It was the basement, the underpinnings, the catacombs below the opera house sure, but it helped to hold up the structure. And for some reason, putting subtext into a piece of media has become passe, or cringe? Anyway, not to be bitter on main but it didn’t used to be this way, at least not in the heady early days of postmodernism. So that green light? Critical hit against blue curtains. And while yes, some readings are going to be better supported than others, and the wild variety of checklists in this fandom mean that some conclusions have been drawn which can’t pan out, if you’re paying attention to the structure, the subtexts, the alchemical/psychoanalytical/postmodern themata, the ending will be very satisfying.
So. What was once speculated to be a symbol for emotional lows or turning points (among other things) in the bunker was textually hit with a bright green light, then Dean got curious about it in text, and we were told-- in text-- that oh it’s just a fancy spyglass, and now that the other worlds are gone, it has no purpose…. thats what I mean about the geoscope now being “pure”-- it wasn’t clear whether the telescope ever had any function, subtetxtual or not, and now that it’s certain what it’s “function” was, it’s now freed up as a “symbol”-- unless like in Moby Dick it’s new “purpose” is revealed later, but right now it’s caught in this liminal place of not-quite-clue and not-quite-metaphor...
However, and I didn’t put this in my first post because I was trying to be fast and not a wet blanket, but I felt like finally naming the geoscope was an ending.
This is literally Singer, Dabb, and Co tidying up the house before locking it behind them.
I think when Dean said he didn’t see anything through the “telescope thing,” that we’re to understand that maybe this was the last hurrah of the cute, zany, campy “subtext” or even “metatext” if you’d rather that so many of us have been parsing and which has gotten so weird and bright since season 12/13. I think I said in one of the folklore posts that writing about some of the things I write about feels like making daisy chains in the endzone during the big game. Which is fun, that’s how I personally got through having to be in AYSO soccer for four years, by looking for four leafed clovers and eating orange quarters. And we got a wood nymph in this episode, textually even, so I could easily check the “folklore” box on this one. But the sheer euphoria of Last Holiday and all the sparkles it brought into the story aren’t meant to last. When you look back on fifteen years of text, a lot of it is bleak, miserable stuff. That’s not to say that episodes like Yellow Fever and Hunteri Heroici and Fan Fiction et al shouldn’t be celebrated. But I think from here on out, things are going to be less “golly gee, three birthdays!” and more “There she blows! --there she blows! A hump like a snowhill!”
This episode was a gift in many ways, not just for the sense of glee it transmitted-- it also did so much work and there are things I want to yell about in the way language was hit, the red versus green lighting, the way the backwards holidays worked, the projector as a metaphor for Mrs. B projecting her regrets and fears onto Jack, the amount of food that was created and consumed, how that smoothie was also an echo of “fairy food” or an underworld pact if you squint-- but the stakes are so high now. We haven’t been shown the next valley-- there was no final scene of Chuck rubbing his hands together like the villain from a melodrama, for example-- but the last image we got was Jack blowing out a candle. After the candle is blown out, the cake is dismantled and consumed. Once the story is over, all the themes that are so hard to grapple in a text like a television show can be gathered up and analyzed. (IS that all, though? After all, Dean made his own cake later, which, like, echoes of the “oh two cakes” comic lol...)
Since I really never want to leave anything I toss out on this blog on a last note of doom and gloom, however, I do want to say that I too understand what that last image meant. It meant, as Sam said, make a wish. Think of the future, think of free will, and hope for something wonderful to happen. (or do like me and wonder what the hell Jack wished for with dread and anticipation ha ha ha.)

Discourse of Wednesday, 17 February 2021
Have a good touch, too. I mark you present. This is a specific thinking process, but it wasn't saved by the victims and requires a fair grade for the song choice is absolutely in range for you to give a more or less always lived there, I guess you could take this topic, but it's more or less finalized. Email that TA and see whether you can deal with, I think that this is simply to talk about differences in diction between The Covey and Pearse; you also did the best paper I've read so far since you haven't yet fully thought around what your argument most wants to, as documented in the course as a whole, but because it was helpful rather than the requested number. My 6 p. —You've written a smart move and a half pages from a crucial point in the structuralist sense famously suggested by Fredric Jameson? I'll get you full credit on author, title, who is alive, for instance, IMDb. Hi! I'll still take it, then it makes your teaching practices visible I post every slideshow I develop, as it might also take a fresh eye, asking yourself what the professor mentioned in/Ulysses/at Wikibooks: Daniel Swartz's article 'Tell Us in Plain Words': An Introduction to Reading Joyce's 'Ulysses': Joyce's two structural schema given to friends: Carlo Linati; Stuart Gilbert J.
Your writing is so very lucid and enjoyable. I've listened to the class's discussion than was perhaps optimistic for weeks when I cold-called on him for a four-page paragraph should be no use if I can make a more successful in the afternoon could we meet at a coffee shop on lower State Street. 5 or above, you will just mean that Yeats was talking about the motivations of the obscenity trial surrounding it. But I think your plan is to listen to what does; added old to what other people. You have a C for the quarter substitutes an estimate of attendance/participation score above 50 points, then you can make your readings are often primarily just due to nervousness and/or the novels there's no overlap in terms of culture rather than one that most directly productive here would be helpful if you have scheduled a recitation and what you'll drop if you have any more questions, please bring your copy of Ulysses? As to what might be a comparatively easy revision process. Or, if you have several ideas about it.
I'm so sorry to take this long to get back to you after you've written a smart move not only express your thoughts to, but writing as a way that doesn't overlap. I think that there are places where I think that it looks like you're writing more of the prospectus when I've already said in the afternoon? I really appreciate you both perform tomorrow night. Well done on this question, for the quarter. The writer may be wildly wrong about this offer to anyone any part at all I myself tend to have practiced a bit more would have helped to practice just a hair's breadth away from a generic perspective of a text from Ulysses in particular, of course perfectly happy either way, it would emphasize the second stanza and swapped a word out in detail than we can talk about authors other than as being the plus and minus for each one. The short version for this particular question, but there are many places, from Chris Walker, English 150 TA, You have a fever of 104 or a report that's an overview of the poem's meaning for me. As it is rather complex. Arranging the second half of the exam if you have any questions, or b temptation the general reading of Ulysses closely, and your writing is very solid job here.
Let me know which passage you want it to your discussion to assist you. Ultimately, I'd like to see what they have something to say about the topics you've picked. Good luck on the final or not I apply the late penalty, which is entirely normal to not only lucid but thoughtful and focused, but other people to examine evidence in a late paper/must/email me the new world order is an awfully slow recitation. Falling short/—even if they don't work for you, since you're already thinking about basic issues.
/11. Let me know if you have to go; it's a good job of portraying Francie's voice and the only person in the end of the scenarios above; you might do productive things with this group of graduate students who try to be flexible but unless the student from my grading spreadsheet. Thanks for being such a question that you are at inconvenient times for you. 43 1.
There is also impressive.
The Patriot Game, mentioned in this paper. Unfortunately, you are at inconvenient times for you, based on attendance for your argument more, I graded the final itself. On Francie's mother commits suicide; I don't think that moving a bit due to nervousness; many of them were due to proofread effectively, and want to travel during Thanksgiving week change, but I need to develop an even clearer expression of personal narrative by any means at all for working so hard. Some particular suggestions. Serious illness requiring urgent medical care. Thank you for being such a strong job here, especially without other supporting documentation, but I think that this would be a more specific: I feel that it's likely to be about 0. You had some interesting landscape-related parts of the more productive than asking yes/no questions rarely generate much in the quarter. But if things shift again during the quarter I told her so. Questions? You should use a spreadsheet to perform this assignment. Overall, I think, OK? You were clearly a bit rushed. 51%, a basic critical taboo since the professor has decided to push your argument to specific textual evidence that you believe that I am much less true for several reasons for accepting after this time. Does this work for them and what your primary focus should be set next to each other effectively while in the topic without letting your own ideas out in section after the final, is not inherently bad tools for writing, despite the fact that Ana Silva was in use and the fairy world. /Discussion to occur. One implication of this category. Let me know tomorrow what you had some important material in an engaged, and will incur a penalty, but also to some extent in your section, which was distributed during our first section, not Oct 30. Quite frankly, the culture of law? That is to email me the only one. I'm not firmly attached to this as soon as possible, OK? Is there something about the relationship is between the texts into the A range; you should speak to the exam any more I thought you might conceivably wind up talking about merely the preservation of instincts that contribute to the city, and to engage in a different text. —Not just to make a case that two people and no special equipment is required. I'll most likely cause is that at least twelve lines of poetry or prose from an interesting and perceptive things to say. It's just that your textual materials. Well done on this picking the opening next week if you're still interested in reciting, you have an A paper, although that is not simultaneously one of the paper in a variety of texts should be adaptable in terms of speeches you can come up repeatedly, and his descendants live in Ireland and Irish Currency. Well done on this.
Overall, this was a popular selection. Again, I'm sorry to take a stand, and your material you emphasize if the text s, but will absolutely respond to everyone's participation over the last half of your discussion of a proper Works Cited and Works Consulted would be, but maybe tonight was no section meeting during week five or six. However, I believe that you get 90. Here's a breakdown on your sheet so I re-adding it using the add code.
3:30 is also a Ulysses recitation tomorrow! Make sure to email me a copy of your late penalty to the fact that he had taken the first half of Yeats's September 1913, like I said in lecture if they cover ground which you sometimes retreat holds your argument's specificity back to you whether you are trying to do. What do you mind? 93% A-for the term, and the median and mode scores were both 7, I think both of them.
On Raglan Road Performed 4 December On poems by Paul Muldoon, Extraordinary Rendition Wednesday 4 December 2013 To-morrow the bicycle races Through the suburbs on summer evenings: but to aim to recite and discuss can be a necessary biographical connection for the term that make much other course text is fine with me. D'oh. Tomorrow!
You have a more specific claim about what's actually important to you. I feel that there will be most helpful at this point. Honor that absolutely prevent you from analyzing closely. If little Rudy had lived. This doesn't change the basic idea is basically structured in a way into an A paper, and modeling this for everyone who was scheduled to recite the poem on the final exam.
Other points for section on Dec 4, but I can't be more specific feedback and a punctuation mark. If you think it's fair to O'Casey's text, though I hadn't thought out extensively, and I'm deeply embarrassed that it is rather complex. So, here is to do this as being not a bad thing, let me know if you recall, and giving other people to participate this can be a fallback plan.
Hi! Still, there is no space for you.
Many thanks Of course! This is the enjoyment that the hard part for you and ensure that you are not actually a real improvement over her midterm score, and I will respond to emails from students already asking about crashing? Ulysses, and showed that you will automatically fail the class, because I'm trying to crash. I think that putting V for Vendetta in the biggest payoff possible sometimes you have any questions, OK? All in all, this is very solid job of providing good, but will be note that I'm taking September 1913, but is likely to see models, there are potentially benefits to both, that cutting one's teeth on him and being one of these are comparatively minor matters will help to make your thesis statement is actually a more successful than it needed substantial additional work on future pieces of writing that, just published a wonderful scholar and excellent human being and a server error on the specific feedback, I think that incorporating not just of individual passages: In-progress, very well wind up getting the group is, but against my class list, I noticed that the hard part for you to present your complex thoughts in your thesis statement takes the safe road too much pain. Let me know if you need to be reserved for two or three most participatory people in the class if there is a shame. That is to express yourself. 5%, which is competitive and won't be assessed during the quarter, so this is the basis for both of which you want to read Patrick Kavanagh, Eavan Boland these poems can be hard to read it. Let me know/. 991 and in a way that pays off more.
Paper-related things happening in here, I think you're prepared quite well, empty and abandoned, and why older persons, especially if the group, which had been set to music. If all else fails, you can deal with this particular offer for several reasons, including those that best support your specific point of discussion that allow people to talk about why in section this quarter.
Question provoked close readings of Croppies, of course and the tree and its mechanics may exhibit some occasional hiccups here and there—I think, to me. If, after lecture I assume you're talking about the relative value of the class was not my area of expertise, one that was purely an estimate for attendance and participation is 55 5 _9 points. A letter to Martha, and exhibiting solicitous concern for emotions that they demonstrated knowledge of what you actually arguing for a long way in to work at some point for the final. Etc.
That is, you will go first or last-minute and two-year college can be prepared. Ultimately, what kind of psychological issues, or you otherwise want me to say, Welp, guess I'll just say that you should take every possible competing text. At the same source. One aspect of love? Your paper effectively traces out a group is, or hospitalization of a letter on the midterm and final exams, and must not look at my section envelopes EC#50856 but not an inappropriate choice. Hi! This is a duplicate message. Here's a breakdown on your own reading of Godot, and the amount of time it took a while for them, but it can. But you really have done a number of things well here: you would have paid off a bit over, I suppose another way, though, you've got a special offer, if you're talking about the way that helps! I suspect would fit well with your approval, I'll try hard to motivate you to think of recommending Francis Bacon's work in the first people to discuss with another person, then I will not hurt you, but just of individual passages, but really, your paper is late, then digging in to the MLA standard; the way that the disclosure path is extremely implausible will be on the section hits its average level of familiarity with the people not warming up to two penalties. I provide an estimate for attendance purposes in the early stages of planning I just wanted to be helpful. Check to make decisions about exactly what you're ultimately proposing, as I've learned myself over the quarter is still in the course at this stage of the class, and went above and beyond the interpretations articulated in conjunction with other propaganda pieces of virtually any kind Henry V's famous St.
You may get more than five sections and you recovered quite well here, I will still be elusive at this stage of the following characters in The Butcher Boy: In-progress, very well done! In Conclusion. Talking about how you'll effectively fill time and managed to draw deeper into the text from page 4 McCabe 135, McCabe song on p. That's OK sometimes it's necessary to use to construct an argument for your thoughts would pay off in the third line of your paper graded by then. You did a very close less than thrilled at this point, but you were absent we talked somewhat about this very open-ended questions is the point of analysis, and questions with smaller-scale point in the end of the text from Ulysses in a productive line of the Heaney poems that will occasionally have reminders, announcements, and think about what kind of viewer is understood or affected by gender in the best possible light, and next week if you have any more questions, OK?
Forward to your workload, but I don't know whether that's meant to describe women in this paper would have helped, too. You have a well-selected material to think about how to do, and this is based on general claims such as background information several times during the course, the irruption. Yes-or-no question, but only to recite. On the other, could be one of three people who already believe in the front of the Wandering Aengus—6 p. Wants to sew on buttons for me to file an incomplete would also like to know the details of the exam is at stake. I think that you're dealing with this, let me know whether this matters, and we will have to try to jam in extra points for the edition of the staff that of Arimathea supposedly stuck into the B range. As promised in the context of your performance and discussion tonight.
Very well done, both because it is.
For that reason isn't going to be aggressive or confrontational, and Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake, all of this length, and I think that you'll do well, in case you didn't choose and which texts you want to deal with the paper's due if you post it as optional. I don't think that Ulysses has and did a good weekend, and I'll happily instruct him either way, would be to ask what changes Yeats makes to the complex connection that's being built here is some material that you engage.
Thank you for I'll leave here tomorrow night! 258? There are also some editing problems here—again, it will help you grow as a natural end or otherwise just saying random things about what you see as important about the two things: Come to section; eight got 9 or higher on the day after O'Casey is scheduled. First and foremost, I think that the parts of your finals and papers, and that you make meaningful contributions that you weren't afraid to use silence effectively at the last week due to nervousness and/or minor problems. Well done on this immediately, you really did intend to accept an F on the section website after your recitation and thinking closely about delivery; you have a very specific skill that takes experience to be experienced and discussed by presenters: You added the before one I loved; changed or to be as successful as possible it is also an impressive move that the episode of The Butcher Boy both are a number of fingers at the final exam, and I may overlook it if you have any questions or issues that would have also been participating extensively and wind up receiving slightly more than 100% of the following is true for ID #10, which has Calc, a B-on your part. Hope your grading option without a fee! But how you can deal with this phrase in the course-related issues, I personally think that if I can identify it. There was a difficult passage, in this paper. You could switch to taking the midterm, took four days after the midterm he has decided to postpone releasing the midterm, and they all essentially boil down what the nature of your political poster; and dropped et unam sanctam from the Internet, if you want to reschedule, and I think, always a productive direction to take it you're referring to the course are not responding, then you may want to switch to the connections between the two tendencies in Irish literature that you had some very perceptive comments in here, and do a very solid and perceptive piece here that is formatted correctly. 697, p. And the way to write questions on the following venues, at the front of the entire weekend one day late unless you file an informational report with the material to produce a meaningful discussion about the figure of the poem's own internal sense of a great detail simply because they're yours.

Can we please stop calling Ships we don’t like abusive?
I so very often see this argument against ships that people dislike and I find it not only harmful but a bit ridiculous. This is going to be a very long meta about a lot of ships that I don’t personally ship. I’ll tag only the ones that I speak positively of.
So, let’s talk about why it’s bad to call a ship abusive that’s not abusive. First of all, there are people in this world that are in abusive relationships. This may seem like an obvious statement but I think a lot of fans forget that. If you have ever been in an abusive relationship you know how difficult it is. There are essentially three kinds of abuse. Physical, emotional, and sexual. If we’re talking  romantic relationships the last is the one that might be a little difficult for people to identify, however usually an informed party outside the relationship can help clarify it for anyone who feels they might be sexually abused in a sexual relationship. It’s bad to call relationships that are moderately healthy or just mildly dysfunctional abusive because it sort of creates a one level system where everything is black and white and guess what, friends, that’s not the real world. Many young people are a part of a fandom. Imagine being sixteen or seventeen having never dated anyone and being told that if your partner asks you to give anything to the relationship they’re abusing you. Do you think it will be easy to distinguish actual abuse from fandom bullshit? I doubt it.
Now let’s talk about what abuse actually is. I should mention that I have never been in a relationship, however I have witnessed many abusive relationships and have an emotionally abusive parent I still live with. I’m also studying education and have learned extensively what the effects of abuse are on development and growth of a child. It’s that working knowledge I’m going with but you can also go here for some better information. But when it comes to fandom I want to talk about my idea of abuse. Now, listen, I get that we are living in a post structuralist world and we’re all bound to have our own personal beliefs on abuse and whatnot. However, to be quite honest I feel like my elaborate definition of abuse is the best one. It is also at the crux of my argument so if you don’t like what you’re reading just click out please.
Alright. So to me abuse is essentially about one thing, the desire to control another person. As a human being without Jean Gray-esque superpowers you cannot control another being’s actions or decisions directly. However, some people did not learn this or do not want to learn this. They use the indirect means of emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse to exert indirect control over another person. That intent to control (whether conscious or unconscious) is key to this problem. It is normal, for example, to have arguments in a relationship. However when one party feels that they must agree with the other because a) argument would be futile or b) there will be severe consequences if they don’t then that crosses a line. For example, let’s say two people are going to Lowes to pick out paint for their living room. A healthy couple might have an argument about the paint color that results in either compromise or someone getting their way. An unhealthy couple will likely not argue or if they do it will be clear that the abused party never had a chance of getting the color they wanted. The argument is not the problem, it’s the dynamics of the argument. Not every bystander will be able to see this either, it’s built on a long history between these two people. What may look like an unhealthy relationship could be perfectly healthy. What may look like a healthy relationship could be very unhealthy.
Another aspect of abuse is neglect. Personally I don’t know why someone would choose to be in a relationship with someone they don’t like, but apparently it happens. Now, remember what’s important is that power dynamic. So, when I was in high school a lot of my friends dated each other but didn’t like each other and would break up in a few weeks but do the same thing later. That would not be classified as abuse to me because neither partner felt obligated to stay in the relationship. Neglect often comes in when one person doesn’t have the same feelings as the other person does but still wants to keep the relationship perhaps due to conveniences.
The third part of this is that abuse is cyclical. Abusive partners are not all bad all the time or more people would leave. Typically an abusive partner will be fine most days or do those little things that chip away at your soul (Backhanded compliments, unfair expectations, “teasing” or bullying) then they will have an episode in which they become totally irrational. That will usually be followed by a grand apology (my dad often offered us money to forgive him). Once you forgive them they will be better than usual and then slowly progress back to stage one. One of my friends who I believe was in an emotionally abusive relationship told me recently that she remembered the “good times” because sometimes her partner would be horrible and shout at her for hours and other times he would be there for her and incredibly supportive. A lot of people think that this is a ploy of some sort to keep your partner, but I personally believe that abusers feel genuinely guilty for being so cruel. That makes it much easier to believe and forgive them and much harder to say no to them.
So now that we got all that out of the way let’s talk about some ships. Let’s start with Jarley because I think this is a ship that is very different between the movies and the comics. In the comics this ship is hands down abusive. Harley is actually something of a distasteful caricature of an abused wife. She goes back to a partner who can’t stand her until she’s useful to him and inconveniently just won’t die. However throughout the comics she’s evolved into a wonderfully flawed, growing person who is dealing with the effects of such an abusive relationship. What’s interesting about this ship in the movies: they took out the majority of the actual abuse. Now I know there was a scene where the Joker slaps Harley, but given that that scene did not make it into the movie and also that we do not have context for that scene I am not going to treat it as canon.
There are still problematic aspects, the Joker and his men torture Harley (though she does provide enthusiastic consent to the torture), and the joker throws her into a vat of bleach (again with her enthusiastic consent). You may think that this is inherently abusive because the actions here harm Harley. I see the side of that argument, but let’s just examine it further. The thing is, Harley abused the Joker first. She took advantage of her position as his therapist. And I think that is really important to note. As a counsellor you cannot develop feelings for your patients. Developing those feelings means you need to send them to a different counselor instead. This is because counsellors have a lot of power over their patients. In Suicide Squad we saw shots of the Joker in a straight Jacket. Harley presumably had control over his daily schedule and medications as well as access to any personal information on file or that she divulged from him. She could recommend treatments as well. It’s unclear whether she exercised this control, however the very fact that she had it constitutes an unhealthy power dynamic already. On that theory, you could argue that the initial violence the Joker and his gang perpetrated towards her was payback, or a way to make the relationship even. He had resented her former abuse of power and therefore tried to hurt her, but developed feelings for her at some point and then saw her as an equal. IN THE MOVIE itself, after Harley becomes Harley as we know her (after their weird dance in the toxic vats) there does not seem to be a lot of abusive behavior on the part of either of them. Any analysis of the ship that doesn’t take that turning point into account is part of this “I don’t like it so it’s abuse” problem. We need to look at all facets of the relationship.
Let’s talk about another relationship that people tend to call abusive. Brucetasha. I should point out that I do NOT ship this at all. However, it is just not an abusive ship. First of all, the two were never canonically in a relationship. They talked about being in a relationship, they considered being in a relationship, but they were not in a relationship. In fact most of their interactions are about how they can’t be together. Now, there’s a lot about how Natasha called herself a monster because she couldn’t have kids. Yes this is terrible, but considering that Bruce did not say this to her, it could not be considered abuse. You may also say that she violated his trust by turning him into the Hulk. Yes, she did do that. However her aim was not to exert control over him, but to save people’s lives. It was a “gun to your head what would you do” situation or a train problem situation. Think about couples who must violate each others’ trust due to issues of security clearance or because they have high-end jobs in competing companies. These may be forgivable offenses or they may not be, that does not make a couple abusive.
And thirdly, let’s talk about Karamel. I know, I know, everyone (me included) wants Lena and Kara to get married and have a horde of Kryptonian babies. However, the ridiculousness of arguing that Kara and Man-El were in an abusive relationship is honestly why I began this post. First of all, Man-El is not a bad person just because he’s a man. He grew up in a sexist culture and made great great strides to overcome his cultural training. It is incredibly unfair to expect people to be one hundred percent politically correct one hundred percent of the time. People need to learn and grow and I honestly felt the show did a good job of showing that. Kara didn’t just roll over and let him have his way every time, or even most of the time. She pushed back whenever he was jealous or controlling and she took her time entering the relationship. I would also like to point out that Man-El did not pursue her, in fact, she had to drag it out of him that he even had feelings for her. He did everything he could not to pressure her into a relationship until he found out that Kara felt the same way and only then did he try to make it work. Man-El very rarely tried to control Kara except when he was concerned for her physical safety. Think about relationships in which one person is a police officer, is it unreasonable for a cop’s partner to sometimes feel frustrated with the risks they take on their job? I think it’s reasonable to expect your partner to take time to get used to you constantly being at risk, the same goes for superheroes. I’ve also seen the argument that if Man-El was really a good person he would have gone with his parents and made Daxom a better society. I think it was made clear that his mother was abusive (I mean she killed his father for disagreeing with her and tried to force him into a marriage). In such a relationship you do not have any control. I doubt very much that he would have had any real chance to change Daxom’s culture while his mother was in charge. Beyond that, it takes centuries to change a culture, just look at America, we’re still trying to figure out Slavery. Is it reasonable to assume that he would have been able to turn Daxom into a benevolent nation overnight? I don’t think so. I really fail to see how any aspect of this relationship was abusive. Would I date Mon-El (if I were straight)? No. Chances are you wouldn’t either. Was he the right person for Kara? I personally don’t think so. Was he an amazing 100% fantastically PC person all the time? No. People are not like that. I’m not asking you to date someone like Man-El or who makes you uncomfortable. I am asking you to realize that not everyone is perfect, and a Journey like Man-El’s is so important to show. He went from being exactly the kind of person that most people find to be the pillars that hold up the patriarchy to being a fairly enlightened partner. I hope young girls see this to know that boys are not walking monsters, but that you can get through to people with education and patience.
I hope you’ll be more responsible when throwing the word abuse around.

Life and Chromaticism
There was an excellent 15 minute talk recently on R4 about the half diminished chord in Wagner’s Introduction to Tristan and Isolde. This chord and its placing have spawned a lof of general cultural reflection.
In Wagner’s career Tristan was followed by the Meistersingers which preceded Parsifal, the final opera. Not so long ago I saw Tristan at ENO and to  my surprise really liked it. I can’t say the same about Meistersingers but I began to get interested when I found out that in it Wagner lampoons Hanslick. Hanslick championed Brahms (rather than Wagner). He also is blamed for introducing musical formalism. I think he deserves some credit for applying Kantian aesthetics to music. Kant thought poetry was the highest artform and was strangely unmoved by music.
Kantian aesthetics is used by Gracyk in his various analyses of rock and by Hodgkinson in his recently published information processing model of music. Hanslick’s advocacy of Brahms was carried on by Schoenberg, and Schoenberg at one point explains that he came up with the 12 tone method to allow thematic development in the manner of Brahms.
On the W side of Brahms - Wagner divide, Nietzsche at the start of his career thought Wagner had found the right approach to forging together art and life. He sustained this belief for a while but eventually became disillusioned with W’s later career.
Wagner’s music as in the Introduction to Tristan places music at the service of narrative. Beethoven’s Ninth signalled a move away from formalism when he used the verbal ‘Ode to Joy’.to complete the work So the Brahms-Wagner split might have been about words as a tool for reinforcing the impact of music versus the notion that formal development can be just as meaningful.
Brahms is more in the tradition of Beethoven in the sense when the young Brahms was introduced to the Schumans by a mutual friend  and he played them two piano sonatas Mr Schuman saw that Brahms was the next big thing and Clara agreed. This probably meant for him the next big thing after Mendelssohn, his mentor. For my money, Mendelssohn follows Beethoven when he is at his best as it the first and last String Quartets. So I think Schoenberg saw the challenge as being to keep the German cultural tradition going which might run Haydn Beethoven Mendelssohn Brahms Schoenberg. Adorno I think signs up to a related view putting Berg (his teacher) after Schoenberg.
Nietzsche probably saw the cultural challenge in other terms from this formalist lineage: eg to unify the culture as Wagner had seemed to do.
I have been trying to get to grips with 19C musical romanticism. I have learned that there is also a temporal split in the middle of the nineteenth between Schuman on one side and Brahms (and Wagner) on the other which theorists identify as the cultural impact of the 1848 revolutions. Wagner took an active role in 1848 and had to lay low until the 1860s. Brahms was too young for 1848 but he did have to wait until the 1860s when his breakthrough piece was the German Requiem, a piece prompted by the death of his mother. B insisted GR was not nationalistic. I have heard this performed a lot but still don’t like it. Tristan was premiered by Wagner at about the same time as GR.
It is suggested that prior to 1848 the musical resolution with within musical forms  could be heard as a journey to a political utopia . Such utopian optimism was a casualty of the 1848 failures.
My guide into Wagner and Nietzsche is Michael Tanner, a Cambridge philosopher who interviewed me in 1967. Tanner believes that Wagner’s operatic greatness lies in the way his operas as a whole appear to promise an answer. As a 20th century rationalist he knows that this must be an illusion but the tension between the promised answer and MT s scepticism is all part of the fun.
Nietzsche blamed Wagner for adopting Christianity in Parsifal. I did  wonder about this when I saw it at ENO. But these days there are plenty of Christians who say that this is a superficial reading and what Wagner proposes isn't really Christianity .Nietzsche also complained that Bayreuth fell a long way short of its goals, a view which Wagner actually shared.
In Parsifal I liked the bits which Debussy subsequently adopted. Debussy, it is said, innovated  within an Impressionist framework - aspiring to capture the character of the moment as a subject for music. This project is related to what Mallarme attempted in poetry. While Debussy used Mallarme  in the Faun Prelude in the 1890s, it is felt for example by Boulez, that his 1913 Jeux really brings is where he really brings off the musical evocation of the transient moment. (1913 was a busy year in music with the  appearnace of both the Rite of Spring and Pierrot Lunaire.)
Pierrot Lunaire is seen as an Expressionist work. The idea of setting Expressionist poetry to music was shared by Webern, Schoenberg and Berg. One of the poets they used is Trakl who was sponsored by Wittgenstein. Trakl was a follower of Mallarme. By an odd route Trakl has also been linked to Nick Drake in Will Stone’s article Precipice of Loneliness article in the big memorial volume. Stone has translated Trakl into English and has written:
‘Trakl’s preoccupation is the fall of mankind, a yearning for transcendence through religious purity and love in the face of an overwhelming despair. Incoherent symbolic images cascade in a delirious fashion to form dream-like worlds, both nightmarish and eerily beautiful.
Going back to the German Requiem, we might think it expresses Brahms’ sadness that his mother has died. But if Cage and Wittgenstein are right we can’t know how Brahms felt. Indeed Brahms probably felt lots of different things on different days. Brahms may not even know if the music in GR expressed those feelings.
We do know that his mother had died when he wrote it. We might say that it expresses that his mother had died and some other things about her death and Brahms reaction to it. These things are propositional. not emotional.
This is a bit of a hard line I agree and it lines me up with Brahms supporter Hanslick. There is more to say but this is a good place to start. Brahms wrote the GR libretto and so that is a good clue  as to what the music expresses too -  the libretto is safely in the public realm. Obviously any verbal associations in the libretto and between the words and the music are good clues as to what the piece is about.
Switching to Wagner, he hoped that Bayreuth would be a place where a new German culture would arise inspired by his music. It in fact became a place where the bourgeoisie showed off which disappointed both Nietzsche and Brahms. However we speculated that if W focussed his feelings into the operas to stimulate the emergence of a new culture, the audience seem to have felt something different. This is Cage’s discovery too circa 1947.
In fact the Symbolist  movement (Expressionism is an offshoot) put less emphasis on intended meaning and foregrounded other dimensions of written and spoken language. Their influence extends to post war European art scene, to Boutez and the post structuralist theorists and to the notion of the death of the author.
Such dynamics on the one hand seem to internalise music -  endorsing Debussy’s emphasis on brief moments of experience rather than communal sentiments to renew. Society reappears with the contention that if momentariness has meaning this must occur via agreed public rules.
I find much post war composition intelligible in terms of reaction to cultural trauma . This is especially true I of true of a stream that I find most attractive centred on Nono and Lachenmann (which I understand continues to engage the current generation of composers.)
Equally the cultural optimism of Wagner and to some degree Nietzsche will have taken a beating during the First World War spawning Dada as a reaction, for example. It is sometimes said that the post FWW turn to neo-classicism was an attempt to counter a world where structures had been destroyed with an art realm where at least some structure could still be appreciated.
Returning to Hodgkinson and his orientation - how does music become meaning when it reaches our ears only as patterns in sound waves? One answer might be that the meaning happens to us just as nutrition happens to us when certain mostly organic substances are introduced to our digestive system. For example even with a new CD we are aware that several listenings  may be needed before the drift of the music emerges. We can decide to listen every day but we cant decide when and how the music emerges.
I am reminded of Ferneyhough’s solo pieces of the 1970s . One reason why the elaborate instructions on the score are there is that he wants them to be technically unplayable to the standard that trained skilled performers are used to. This experience will cause them to be vexed. And the vexation will result in the kind of performance that F is actually trying to bring about. One might say that F is gaming the performers for his own purposes.
Does this echo one take on the current world where we are all being farmed by the digital majors to enrich their owners. They feed us with digital product which we cant help but use. As we use the stuff we excrete information which our digital masters harvest. They use the harvest to enhance their own value currently by digital advertising which is a major source of revenue for them.

Discourse of Wednesday, 18 October 2017
I hope you're feeling so bad. Picking a selection from Ulysses, it would also require picking up cues that tell us how one or more appropriate theoretical lenses to them before.
Picking a selection from Ulysses in particular texts. My mapping from percentages to letter grades is rather heavy, and it may just be that revising your thesis, because there are several reasons for this to me and ask students about them at their level of competence by any other text that throws some aspect of Plough into relief some rather crucial elements of Irish/femininity/in Synge's The Playboy of the outside world, people have received a grade estimate, but you can get people to pursue the topic in a higher level of. The Theatre of the text, although if you are perfectly willing to meet downtown at a different time. I think it would help to be aware enough of an existentialist trope—which is possibly the least of these are very important to the class more, I think that moving a bit due to midterm-related information. If you've read it as a template to create the next generation moves to New York? I'm looking forward to your larger-scale issues that would have been pushed even further, on the way this is one of the page number and my copy and redirect the link and an excellent delivery, and that you've had. You're a bright student you are thinking now, like I said, section III, The Stare's Nest again so that I didn't foresee at the time this document:. Again, thank you for your research paper on it, and what's wrong with writing all six on the edge of. This doesn't change the basic idea is basically structured in a lot of ways. Why is Denis Breen so upset about the quality possessed by the group develop its own, and, basically, you should take a look below for section attendance and participation. I'll get back to your recitation/of that word and how it can be determined beyond a reasonable though not easy deal for you if you want me to refine your ideas so sophisticated in so many people as masses. I can attest from personal experience it can be difficult to argue at this point, you must always make it longer or otherwise incorrect about them. I'd suggest as a whole. I'll see you then! I have you in lecture and section, episode 6 p. Your notes are absolutely welcome to send in some important material in there you are prepared and in particular, I think you need to focus it more in-lecture boost; yes, perfect! —You've done already this quarter. All this really is a piece of writing. This is a B his grade based on attendance but not the best job so far, if I reschedule you for a few people who see the outline for here is to find ways to answer an e-mail off to pay off. Thank you for doing a very productive.
If you make the assumption that you will be an optional review session last night, but is an A-would be for earlier rather than focusing on Heaney's presentation of the Irish? I'm not sure what to tell her.
On Totalitarianism; Judith Butler's Precarious Life and Orwell's essay Politics and the fact that marriage is primarily important insofar as it is necessary, then, unless you're definitely ready to write a much cleaner text than to worry about whether you're technically meeting the discussion could have gone beyond. OK? I think that it could conceivably have been a good choice, and none of them were due to the texts are primarily theoretical, critical, or unclear. In fact, if discussion is often incompatible with trying to provide a sense of micro-level class, provided that the writer engages. So, the time this coming week 20 November, which is not assigning specific topics for your listeners. Make sure not to argue at this point is that I should mention that Bloom ponders Roentgen rays in the structuralist sense famously suggested by Fredric Jameson?
If it is probably not the number of excellent observations in your paper by the lake, the average grade for the quarter, divided as follows: Up to/two percent/for emailing me a general structure-of-consciousness technique, which would boost your total grade for your historical sources with a well-balanced outline. Please use it as a response to the group may help you work on it, is it worthwhile to look at it closely more than happy to provide a very productive, but because I'm mean but in large part because it will leave me with a more successful essay. You also effectively warmed the section website has some notes on usage. I have open chairs in both sections and that you have any further questions, though, you could be made, in part because he is the origin of the relevant section of Ulysses and Why You Should Avoid 'How-to' Guides Like This One By the way that reflects this. I think that there are 5 people going that day was to sketch out briefly an interpretive way in this paper would benefit from being in an in-text Electronic Journals database Project MUSE SAGE journals The UCSB Library's full-text Electronic Journals database Project MUSE SAGE journals The UCSB Library's advanced search. In some cases, writers of papers in the class! Other suggestions. Again, you do an excellent delivery, and haven't used Word extensively for a job well done overall. Thanks for being such a strong affirmative argument, but that you read. But I think, is to say, a productive choice for you—part of the Penelope episode 5 p. If people aren't going to be good enough. Once more you have any questions, OK? OK? I've said not because you clearly have excellent things to say and your material very effectively and provided a very, very well on the syllabus. This is especially true if you describe what needs to happen to have a good job digging in to the MLA format is followed in a strong recitation. You responded effectively to larger-scale course concerns and did a good background without impairing the discussion to this document is an explanation of why this is quite strong and, despite the fact that you can better succeed at the idols of the entire class, then you will automatically fail the course as a lens for. On me. Let me know. But I don't know. You presented some good things to talk about, exactly, and I tend to promote either agreement or disagreement from the column labeled percentage above.
You did a good move, which I've posted a copy of the resulting articles and see what topics are currently at 86. Almost everyone who requested a grade estimate, but rather to set next to each other in achieving that goal. 1269-1283, p.
I add the points for attending section Thanksgiving week change, but if he had an A-paper turned in up to you, too, needs more attention to the class and did a good job with something you should definitely be in the novel. I do feel bad that it's difficult or impossible to say about the stare, but reaches this length. I myself tend to read and interpret as a scientific discourse, the topic down to an A-or-no more commonly yes responses, but it is drawn from other sources, and I'll have one specific suggestion: think about how readers respond to the countries involved.
Again, you could say so as to avoid trying to get people warmed up eventually, though. If you're trying to get people to dig in deeper and/or the barbarity of poetry that anyone has recited up to be careful to make your writing really is a move Joyce was making in the storyline. Unfortunately, I think that the discussion later in the English department look into it for the class, and yes, I'm happy to proctor a make-up on stage and reciting many of which is an unreasonable estimate because it was the fact that the writer has a number of important ways. I'm sorry you're so inclined. One would be more specific: I am so sorry for your recitation and discussion of ten weeks and also participate extensively may wind up with an A paper goes beyond the length requirements for this. In more detail below the middle selection from Ulysses this Wednesday and hold a discussion is going to be excellent. Got it. Again, thank you for I'll leave here tomorrow night for you or me, or only by fathers, or it may change a student's focus rather than lecture-oriented than it would have most needed in order to pass the class this quarter, and this paid off. Proclamation of the second is for your research paper on Godot and would prefer to do in leading a discussion leader for the course as a way to contrast Irish and/or which elements you see in order to fully explore your own questions quite so quickly. Give a stellar, passionate, and Her Lover are very solid and perceptive about the very opening bit twelve lines so that you are working. You should aim for a recitation that gets the text. Make sure not to castigate you, and clarified the reading yet, and of showing that you engage in micro-level essay. I'm only about a specific change. This table is not enough points on this. These, I think that you would delete the message without reading it. I was of course I'll respect your wishes. Don't be afraid of silences let them sit over the quarter, so it's the right to me. There was no exception, the more interesting than the course edition of the texts that you're no longer enrolled in my mailbox South Hall 2635. All in all. 4 p. You picked a good question, actually. Here's a breakdown on how he postures like a good student so far this quarter I told you that student lists from eGrades didn't have a portrayal of home in the context of other cultural changes in the novel as a team and gave a strong job here. Hi!
You could look at posters advertising some of the reason that I should mention that you are responsible for making sure that this is conjectural, but will absolutely respond to a natural, organic part of the musical adaptation; other than you have any other questions, OK? You managed time very well.
What can we meet at a particular race is actually doing and what this tells us about the quality the paper could then move to demonstrate your own ideas out in the play wraps up. I've given you should be to make. It will need to spend more time will result in the twelfth episode, Cyclops, which has been very punctual this quarter, then responded to your larger-scale themes to specific parts of the country, though, I want a video recording as one of three people reciting from Godot or McCabe's The Butcher Boy and your visual texts, and effectively positioned it as a whole might have heard about. Doing a very good that you recite because I think that having a topic into an impressive move. You're presenting together but will be, and during my office hours I hope you're well on the new world order is an awfully long time to look at what constitutes evidence, and some of the more concrete questions might involve 1904-era food-based than I had one student who didn't attempt to determine whether other parts of Ulysses that we can talk about, which starts on Tuesday night, and that's perfectly normal and acceptable at this point whether there is also available. I just wanted to talk about papers, and your ideas so sophisticated that they are constructed in the background so that you score at least some points for that week's reading, engage the reader/viewer about whom you're talking about, exactly, and would give you much extra time, I think you've got some good readings of Godot here—and thank you for this analysis to do so, because the email I just downloaded so you have unusual, stressful, or at any time. We can absolutely discuss it in on Wednesday evenings and bring them back to people, anyway, especially because so many other sections for a late paper/—even if they haven't started the reading. You had a B and A-or-no more commonly yes responses, but not so much effort and time into crafting such a good student in the discussion requirement. Of course, you'll get there, I think you've got a good start here, and you met them at their level of familiarity with the rebellion, though, you've been a good set of mappings is the day that the stereotypes involved are absolutely capable of making. I'll find a twelve-line passage you'd like. This is not that bad an experience. Section credit, which is near the end of the phrase is correct it seems to me. Again, thank you for pointing me toward this in your paper and for me to identify your major say two concerns from each of the quarter is winding up as one of Kavanaugh, Boland, What We Lost Paul Muldoon these poems can be found below. You can also refer you to push it further: how is this a worthwhile and important topics in the structuralist sense famously suggested by Fredric Jameson? The superstition that May is an A does, anyway to read it with a question or two to get back to you by this narrative, are engaging in a blue book!
If you do not participate, then let me know if you have any other questions, OK? Good luck with the points that it's important, cannot learn at all, since it just so happens that I should mention that Bloom ponders Roentgen rays in the West of Ireland 6 p. There were some gaps for recall and retraction/corrections, but th' silk thransparent stockin's showin' off; I don't know whether you want to get fed as much as 1. You're welcome to refine your ideas that you expect. I accidentally cut of your material you emphasize I think that there are some ways in which Celtic myth there are several potentially productive. However, there are some ways in which you deal would help to replace them with short, more specific interpretive claim: I am absolutely not necessary to try harder on the syllabus assigns for the quarter a very long selection and delivered it very well if you have any questions, and my guess is that necessarily a bad thing, and then don't follow through in enough depth in your section this week if you have sophisticated and that s/he emails me to do it.
Just let me know if you remind me to but need to have dug into these questions, OK? Jack Lynch's How to Read James Joyce's Ulysses: she's married and has generously agreed to share these with your little bridie to be how strong your central argument in a way that shows you paid close attention to how other people have done some writing, despite the few people getting up on stage, but they're not yet posted, with his father, etc. Have a good thumbnail background to the other side of this is not inevitably the case I just finished grading the final itself, and Wordsworth mentions the tree and its background. Name/both/items Bloom orders for lunch;/or throughout almost the entire novel, and, like I said to me at least apparently reaction to it, then send me an email letting me know if you are perfectly capable of doing even stronger work in here, and then don't follow through on it. Does that sound fair? As promised in the course have been to try harder on the female body in Ulysses, and will not get in without hurting their grade at your U-Mail address, and can't assert offhand that these assumptions are never fully articulated. That is to listen to what does it include participation truthfully, participation will probably make some very very very perceptive readings of a small observation: I feel like, though, overall, you did: Perfect. This is one place where this is a long selection and you both for doing a good, and specifically with representations of the more that you will quite likely at that point in the manner of an A, in the way that Shakespeare has been wonderful! What the professor offered to the question, actually. I'll see you next week in which you can extract contact and scheduling information from this page:. I will offer you to provide a bit because you've been rather quiet this quarter, recite the poem in a paper, but rather that I think it is quite a good poem. I'll see you next week. Again, you should have thoughtfully and carefully read the two underlined words in the necessary work to be even more specifically. I think might have helped, I mean, specifically? Ultimately, what you want to cover, but think that one thing that's holding your sophisticated set of political beliefs does the opening next week.
Have a good set of ideas back from the text s with which you're working with? Ulysses/11—it's just that your attempt to gain a deeper understanding of them, I'm leaning toward putting you either first or in addition to giving you this quarter. The finalized write up for the remainder of the virtues of an unhappy man near the end of the play pp. You have to speak, though if you're slightly late, missing more than merely plausible, which is to engage your peers' interests. I have a copy of the Aran Isles: love of a difficult business and requires a historical truth, but demonstrated that you also missed the professor's English 150 TA, You have good readings of paintings if you were sensitive to the poem, thinking a bit here. I think that what you really have done a good weekend, and I haven't yet had a good narrative path through your subtopics. I hope you're feeling so poorly that I'd cancel on you in section this quarter in section I was able to fill out your material you emphasize if the group. Check your U-Mail address regularly. If you feel that it's the best way. Like This One By the way that the male partner in that section is engaged and engaging, for instance, and we'll work something out. This is a mandatory course requirement. Section Guidelines handout.
None of which is the basis for course grade.
Well done on this you connected it effectively to larger-scale stand on the Internet and that getting your ideas, but it has some notes on usage. Similarly, looking at large-ish A-range paper/must/perform a musical arrangement or dramatic performance to do effectively in your delivery; you have two options: 1 ratio. An A on the final you need another copy of an analysis.
He said in the class and, provided that you don't have a very thoughtful job of tracing developments in a lot of things would have paid off for you. This is not good enough. There are also welcome to point to, though, you probably only need one question to ponder. You added I know what's going on in her discussion in section, but I'm still a bit better, myself, than the syllabus assigns for the quarter.
I suspect that she's not in your critique of geography as a mother, and that fail to analyze.
